    Thanks, Peter.
The "link related" and "text related" crashes were what I interpretted here, too, though I'm at a loss on how to proceed given that this is a fresh system and applications.  This is happening with multiple InDesign projects in a design office environment where many others work on the same files and none of the other computers are having problems with these files.  I've removed the same files listed (thank you for those) before and did so effectively with creating the new user account to test with, but it had no effect.  I just tried again though, as these files could easily have becone corrupt again if they were being written to when InDesign crashed.  Will let you know if that makes any difference.  I've also gone through and completely cleaned out the fonts again and once more cleared the font caches.  If need be I'll reboot this system into safe mode and try that way.
    Best,
    Mike

  • New iPad dosent sync all photos in photostream

I love the new iPad, but it only syncs about 25% of my photos.  These photostream photos are recent and they are under 1000, it only synced maybe my most recent 100 photos.  I have plenty of memory.  I have done everything the apple help center tells me to do....(I'm on wifi, I have battery, iCloud sync photostream is on, I have reset it). I have also restarted my device, installed any updates, my other Devices include the ancient iPad 1 and an iPhone 4S, no problems with those devices syncing Photos, documents, or apps.

Are you sure that the Photo Stream photos that are on the iPad and the iPhone aren't really in the camera roll on this devices .... Maybe you saved them to the camera roll from the Photo Stream.
Photos that are over 30 days would have been deleted from the Photo Stream wouldn't they have been? If you saved them to the camera roll on the other devices they would still appear on those devices.
I am really just starting to use Photo Stream myself, and im noe expert by any menas, but I am getting my information from here. However, I could be misunderstanding how it works, since I am new to the whole thing myself.

The article also explains how to add photos manually to the PhotoStream from your computer. And now that I think about it, the PhotoStream contents are not in your backup so restoring from the backup would not transfer them to the new iPad and only photos that you have taken - after you turned on PhotoStream on the new iPad, should appear in the PhotoStream on the device.

  • Photostream is syncing old photos from iPhoto

Photostream is syncing 1000 of random old photos throughout my iPhoto library.  Because it is grabbing these 1000 photos it does not sync NEW pictures taken.  It supposed to sync the last 30 days pictures, but these pictures are from 2006-2008.  All photos are labeled correctly with the right time and date. I have resetted photostream from iCloud.   Whats the deal??  Am I the only person that is having this problem?!?!   Any possible solution is GREATLY appreciated.

You can sync any photo(s) that are in iPhoto to Photostream.  Just click on the photos that you want and click the share button in the lower right of the screen.  There's an option there to share with Photostream.  You need iPhoto '11 and you need to have Photostream enabled in preferences and make sure the "Automatic Upload" option is checked.
    Hope that helps.

  • Not all photos on photostream sync to iPad

IPhoto says I have 197 photos in my photo stream. I recently had to delete my iCloud account on my iPad 2 because the notes were not syncing. When I added my iCloud account back only a few photos from the photostream synced back up. What can I do to have all photos on photostream sync back to my iPad?

iCloud only keeps photo stream photos from the last 30 days.  Your backup would include your camera roll photos but they can only be accessed by restoring the backup to your device.

  • How do I get my entire photo stream to my new iPad. I use my ICloud and some of them showed up but most if them did not. I am trying to sync the photos from my phone to an iPad 1 and iPad mini.

How do I get my entire photo stream to my new iPad. I use my ICloud and some of them showed up but most if them did not. I am trying to sync the photos from my phone to an iPad 1 and iPad mini.

Photostream in the cloud only keeps photos from the last 30 days (subject to a 1,000 photo limit). When photostream syncs the photos to your device they will stay there until deleted, which means you may well have more photos in your photostream album on your device than there are in photostream in the cloud.
The consequence of this is that if you turn photostream off and on again on your device (or enable it for the first time), it will only be populated with photos from the last 30 days, which may not be all the photos that were previously in the photostream album on that device.

  • More than 1,000 photos in Photostream, Events as well?

I made a clean install of Lion and recuperated about 5,000 photos in a regular folder structure. Never opened iPhoto after the clean install.
Yesterday, I upgraded iPhoto on all devices, including my MBP and opened iPhoto for the first time. I activated Photostream and now I have the advertised 1,000 photos in Photostream but overall, I find now 2,300 photos and 79 events. I did not import anything in iPhoto, did not open iTunes and have never synced iPhone and iPad over iTunes with this machine. How is that possible?
I had my 5,000 photos still on my iPhone and iPad where I installed yesterday also iPhoto for iOS. Did Photostream recuperate all of those photos? Did it sync them back from my mobile devices?
    Anybody any ideas?

You're talking about photo stream (up to 1000 photos for up to 30 days).  Photo stream is not a photo storage service, in fact, icloud doesn't provide a photo storage; the only other thing it does is perform backups of the Camera Roll, if you have set that up correctly.  You should be syncing photos to your computer for archiving, don't trust the pics to icloud!
Aside from storing on your computer, there are other services that provide storage - like Dropbox.

  • Photo Stream not syncing all photos

    Hi,
I'm experiencing some issues where Aperture Photo Stream is not syncing every photo to iCloud. I've successfully shared a number of projects but there are a few that just get stuck and only seem to sync some of the photos and the same ones each time. For example I've a project with 36 photos of which only 22 will sync which I've recreated a few times with exactly the same result each time.
I'm fully up to date with OS and Aperture and I've rebuilt permissions and the library and have deleted and recreated the Photo Stream a few times. All the photos are referenced and I've rebuilt the image previews in the project(s) concerned.
Looking in the Console log the only message I'm seeing which is indicating a problem are these which look related but give no further information or indication:
    Aperture: invalid share context
    Aperture: invalid context
    Any help appreciated.
    Matt

WOW! That font is difficult to read. But, see if this support document helps you http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3989. Photos stream is based on date and photos more than 30 days old are removed. Photostream is designed as a temporary storage to allow you to download the photos to the computer.

  • How do I upload a photo to photostream from iPhoto?

My first Apple computer. I just got a new MacBook Pro 13 in. How do I put a photo into photostream after I transfer it to iPhoto. when I select the photo and click share to photostream nothing happens. Photostream is on with auto download and upload.

Drag and drop the photo over to Photo Stream in the sidebar. You should see a sync icon show up next to Photo Stream as the upload process is taking place.

  • Keeping Photos in Photostream in Aperture When Photostream is full

    Hi folks,
I've searched around and can't find an answer to this: I've got Photostream set up to sync with Aperture from my phone. At some point several thousand photos in, Photostream is going to start deleting the old photos and replacing them with new ones, as I reach my per user cap. My question is, how does this effect the local copies in Aperture? I've seen advice that if you need to delete your whole photostream, you must move the photos to a new project first in order to retain them. Does anyone know if this is the case as Photostream starts doing it's own rolling deletions as well?
    Thanks!

Thanks so much for the reply.  I was actually looking at the TUAW article earlier, though it doesn't seem to help my situation.
You are right -- my experience is definitely happening opposite from all the documented materials.  I have "Automatically Import" selected, and they seem to be downloading locally -- from everything I can tell, they are stored locally in the library.  But once they get bumped out of the 1000-limit queue, they are somehow yanked/disappearing from the library itself.
I've actually never enabled "Automatically Upload to Photostream", since I was already having any DSLR photos uploaded through my iPad...
I even tried to create a new library to see if that would correct the issue, but the same thing happened.  It's extremely frustrating.
I posted a note over at Aperture Expert earlier with the hopes that someone has had the same issue.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

  • Photos in Photostream not on IPad

The photos in my photostream in my icloud will not download to my ipad 4. I have tried a hard reset, I have turned photostream off on my ipad as well as deleted my icloud account from my ipad and resigned back in. I can't get it to work, all of my photostream photos on my mac mini and my iphone 4, but will not sync to my ipad. I have about 10 pics that keep downloading from photostream, but none of the others will. Please help

When photos are added to the photo stream album on a device (either due to a new photo having been taken or having been synced from another device using the stream) they remain in the album.  However, the syncing process involves copying the photos to the photo stream server where they are kept for a maximum of 30 days, up to 1000 photos.  If a device is reset or the stream is turned off or turned back on again, the photos that were on the device's photo stream album are gone and the only ones to appear are those that are currently on the servers (recall the 30 day limit).
    IMPORTANT...
Photos should be regularly synced to a computer (like you store photos from a digital camera) using either USB via iTunes (on a mac use iPhoto or Aperture to move them to an album) or using photo stream.  If you have been doing that, then you can sync those photos back to your device.

  • How to remove photos from photostream?

I'm not loving iCloud.  I LOVED mobileme and my gallery in there, among other features.  How do you remove photos from photostream?  So frustrating.  iCloud was supposed to be easier, effortless and this is not the case. Some pictures show in photostream on my iphone and others show in iphoto.  I don't get it.  Anyone know the answer to this mystery of how to make them sync?

You can't delete individual photos, you can reset photostream from iCoud.com and turn off syncing for photostream on each device, but that will remove all photos from photostream.
Photostream syncing requires wifi, make sure you have a wifi connection for photo stream to update correctly.

  • Can't use photos from photostream in mail, web an other applications

Isn't it possible any more to use photos from photostream to paste them in emails or web forms? I always took photos with my iPhone and then without syncing I used the photos for ebay on my macbook. Now, with mavericks, you can choose "photos" to paste them, but the photos of the photostream are not shown! Thanks for helping, FRED

    Kari,
what is your MacOS X version and  iPhoto version?
If you cannot  delete photos from the iLifeAssetManagement folder, then you have a permissions problem. You should be able to do that. Try to fix the permissions for that part of your User Library.
Navigate again to the  iLifeAssetManagement folder as described above. Then select the Folder and press ⌘I (clover leaf, capital letter I) for "Get Info". You shoud see an ifo panel like this:
Disclose the "Sharing & Permissions" brick by pressing the disclosure triangle. Press the padlock in the lower right corner and enter your administrator password. Make sure your user account .....(Me) has Rad &Write permissions, change the permissions if necessary. Then click the padlock and select to apply to enclosed items.
Then try again, if you now can delete photos from the Stream.
    Regards
    Léonie

  • #Windows_7: iCloud doesn't sync old photos

    Windows 7 SP1 HP 64-bit
I've taken photos and synced them with iCloud on my iPhones for a few years.
Before reinstalling my Windows, I've had part of them synced to my iCloud folder on PC. Since reinstalling Windows and settin up iCloud control panel for the second time, it has downloadedn only less than a year's worth of photos (out of a few years)
    Additionaly:
It hardly ever syncs new photos from iOS devices to computer thru iCloud (even after being connected to wi-fi for two weeks)
Doesn't upload most of photos from iOS device to photostream, even though chosen so in Settings & online
The question is: how do I gain access to all of my iCloud photos? They are no longer in my iDevices' photostreams (older than 30 days, not deleted from the photostream) and my PC won''t sync anything older than a couple months.

If they are still on your iOS device, either in the camera roll or the my photo stream album, add them to a shared stream and invite yourself as a subscriber (see http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mmc0cd7e99).

  • ICloud sync of photo stream

I have enabled the iCloud backup of my photo stream and I assume that if I take a photo on my iphone, it should appear on my iclod photo stream download folder when in WiFi. This never works. My iphone and my PC is under WiFi and I have taken a photo on my iphone. Waiting for last 1 hour and haven't got the photo to my PC yet.
Tried doing the backup manually under icloud option in settings, but to no avail. I think this whole iOS5 is a complete failure. I think this is the first time such a crappy product has been released.
I think with the demise of Steve Jobs, we can see apple falling soon
