Sync photos over wifi in os x

I'm using iPhone 5s with IOS 7.0.2 and OS X Mountain Lion 10.8.5. When I connect my iPhone to my Macbook using the supplied cable, it automatically syncs all the photos from iPhone to iPhotos. But when I sync the iPhone over wifi with my iTunes, it doesn't sync the photos.
Is there any way to sync photos over wifi?
Thanks.

Please notice that PhotoStream will not sync your videos ... when it will with a usb cable.

Hello. When I turned on my Ipone 4s today all of my contacts were gone. They are backed up in iCloud but can't figure out how to get them from there back to my phone. Aren't them supposed to sync automatically over wifi? Can someone please help me?

    Hello jllew333
Check to make sure that Contacts is toggled on to sync by going to Settings > iCloud. Also go to iCloud.com to see if the contacts are showing up there to see if it syncing those contacts.

  • IPad no longer sync's over WiFi with latest 8.02

iPad Gen 2, MBPro, iTunes 11.4, OS 8.02.
iTunes will no longer sync over WiFi since upgrading to OS 8.02.
    Any ideas?

    Hi again notfeelinthelove!
I'm sorry that you are still experiencing this issue! To answer your question, yes, a restore on the iPad would be a sensible thing to do. An article about doing that can be found here:

  • TS4062 my iphone 4 has mild water damage and will not sync with cable.I want to sync it over wifi to reload data I deleted during my troubleshooting, but I did not set up for wifi sync before the damage. Is there a way that this can be done now ?

My iphone 4 has mild water damage. As a result, it will not sync with it's former XP computer with the cable. I deleted the phone's data in the troubleshooting process. I want to get it back by syncing over wifi, but I did not set up this capability before the damage occured.is there another way to initiate this feature ? I can tell that they are connecting in the cloud because an app I just downloaded on the phone is showing up in itunes on the computer.

You don't need to access your e-mail account, just get into your Apple account and change the e-mail address. If you can't access your Apple account, then you have a bigger issue to contend with.

  • If I can sync wirelessly over WiFi with my AppleTV...

... is it just a matter of time until I can do the same with my iPhone? Just a thought. Would be nice...

Yes, but that has nothing to do with the cloud.
It is simply wifi syncing between your computer and iPad over your local wifi network

  • How do I get calendars on my iMac, iPad and iPhone to sync automatically over wifi?

How do I configure my imac, ipad2 iphone 4s and my wife's ipad2 so that the calendars on all of them will sync automatically?  I would like to have them all update whenever a change is made on any one without having to connect each to the imac and syncing calendars using itunes.  Thanks, Bruce

    That is what iCloud does.
You need to be logged into the same iCloud account on each device, you also need to have calendar syncing enabled on each device in your iCloud settings. Once you have done this, your calendars should sync as you require.

  • IPhone 4 has trouble syncing over WiFi

I seem to have a lot of trouble getting my iPhone 4 to sync over WiFi.  I try initiating it from within iTunes but it will sit at "waiting for sync to start" for a long time.  Sometimes, after several minutes, it will start but sometimes it never starts.
I also have an iPad 2 and I never have trouble syncing it over WiFi.  So I don't think it's my computer or my wireless connection.
I can sync the iPhone 4 fine with the cable.
I'm running the latest OSs on every device (iOS 5.0.1 on my iPhone 4 and iPad 2, and OS X 10.7.2 on my 13" MacBook Pro).
My router is a Airport Extreme.

Has anybody been able to resolve this issue? I am also having the same issues descibed.
I have not been able to sync my iphone 4 wirelessly on my current wifi network which is a duel band Airport Extreme. I have gone so far as to separate the 5ghz and 2.4ghz channels knowing the iPhone 4 does not work on the 5ghz channel (only the iPhone 4s will). The iphone will not sync whether my Macbook Pro is on the 2.4ghz network or the 5ghz network with the Airport Extreme.
I also have an iPad 2 though it never has had a problem syncing regardless which channel the MBP is on. The Apple iOS app Remote will not work on the iPhone but will work on my iPad.
To make matters more confusing I've take my laptop and devices to work which only has Linksys routers running a 2.4ghz network. The iPhone syncs with no issue and the app Remote work perfectly fine.
This then seems like it is an error with the Airport Extreme but I am still at a loss. I hope I've added some insight into your origional problem Michael...and I'm secretely wishing you have already found a solution.

  • Syncing photos to ipad2

I am trying to sync photos from iPhoto to my iPad 2 iOS 4.3.5, but get a fault window stating that "the necessary directory does not exists" (translated from Danish). I have redone everything on the iPad from scratch. The software on my iMac is the latest versions OSX 10.6.8, not Lion. Where is the problem? On the Mac or the IPad?
It did work before. I imported some photos from a email to iPhoto and then no syncing was possible. I have removed the photos again, but still no sync.

Then the issue is on the iPad.
        •    Photostream only syncs photos over Wi-Fi, make sure you are connected to Wi-Fi to begin with.
        •    Photostream only syncs when the camera app is closed, ensure it is closed.
        •    Photostream only syncs when the battery is above 20%, try recharging the device
Try disabling photo stream on your device (settings > iCloud), restarting your device and then re-enabling photo stream.

  • I am planning a long vacation and taking my laptop but it is my home computer that my new ipad and ipod touch are synced too. I know i can backup to the cloud over wifi but how can i do things like delete photo albums

I am planning a long vacation and taking my laptop but it is my home computer that my new ipad and ipod touch are synced too. I know i can backup to the cloud over wifi but how can i do things like delete photo albums instead of having to manually delete pictures one by one on the Ipad. Is there any way also to add my pictures to the ipad other than through email. i am assuming that i can't just install itunes on the laptop and sync to that. I have been told that i always have to sync to my original synced home computer for that.

  • Aperture isn't importing videos from iPhone, only photos. I've tried plugged in and over wifi. Help?

Aperture isn't importing videos from iPhone, only photos. I've tried plugged in and over wifi. Help?

How did you transfer the photos from your other iPhone? If you did it by importing them from the old phone to a computer and then used iTunes to sync them back to the new phone, then you would delete them by syncing again using iTunes but this time change the selection of which photos are to be synced. Each time you sync using iTunes, it sets the non-Camera Roll photos on the phone to match the current settings/selection in iTunes.

  • Can I save my photos from my Nikon Coolpix AWS 120 camera to my camera roll on my ipad over wifi without using any type of adapter but only using wifi?

Can I use my ipad mini and my wifi camera to save my photos on my ipad without using an adapter and only using wifi? If so. How

Not unless you import them to your computer first, then sync with iTunes over WiFi, but I suspect that sort of defeats the purpose.
Just use the Lightning to USB Camera Adapter to connect your camera directly, or alternatively, the SD Card Adapter.

  • My iPhone 5 will not enable sync over wifi. Any help?

My iPhone 5 will not sync over wifi even after I have enabled it to do so in itunes. Any ideas?

Yes I have turned imessage off a number of times and that does not seem to he doing the trick, and it is not delivering them then I have to press on the photo and either chose try again or send as text message, I have had the setting on to not allow sending pictures as texts (so they can only send as imessage) since I got my phone in January and it has always worked until now, I have turned that off to allow me to send them as picture messages now but it's still not working over iMessage, I have also tried it using 3G and not wifi

  • Wireless sync option not available on Itunes 10.5.  After updating my iphone to IOS 5, the "sync over wifi" option is not being displayed in itunes.

hi, I managed to update both Itunes and my ios to the latest versions (10.5 and 5 respectively).  I'm unable to see the "Sync over wifi" option in itunes.  Can anyone help?

Maybe that's why I got lucky?  I have 10.7.2.  I have to tell you howeer that I did not check any check box in settings on the Notebook to enable Wifi sync, or in iTunes on the notebook.  I did have options when setting up the iPad and I selected sync with computer rather than back up to cloud.   Maybe that is another difference?  I feel feel fortunate that as I type this my iPad is syncing over wifi and you're all having trouble.
Just to confirm I have iTunes 10.5  MacOSX 10.7.2 and iOS5 installed on the iPad.  I'm going to dive in and do the phone now too.  I will report any troubles, or pay more careful attention when the iCloud settings and set up come on the screen.  Maybe I did something else I don't remember.
