Sync Photos with Photoshop Elements?

Hello everyone, I saw a couple weeks ago that you could sync your photos from Photoshop Elements to your ''iDevice''. I am using Photoshop Elements 9 to sync Faces and Albums, because you can't sync those on Windows.
I downloaded it yesterday and organized my photos.
But I'm unable to sync the photos like I wanted, the only option available is to sync Albums, not the faces of people in photos...
Do you think I should contact Adobe, or what?
Thanks in advance, Pietro.

I have experienced a similar problem.
I have iTunes on a PC along with Photoshop Elements 7. I have several albums defined in PSE 7. They all appear in iTunes but only 3 of them have the count of the number of photos included in the album. When I sync with the Apple TV, only the albums with a photo count are available. A double check of the content of the albums in PSE 7 confirms that photos are assigned to each one.
I have searched everywhere for a posting of the answer without success. HELP!

  • Problem syncing photos with Photoshop Elements 5.0

I have a problem with syncing my photos using Photoshop Elements 5.0 to my AppleTV.
After marking I want to use elements it shows my catalogs.
But after syncing no photos are transferred to my AppleTV.
I do get a circle with an explanation mark behind my AppleTV in iTunes, but it doesn't give any further information.
The problem exists both when trying to sync all photos or selected catalogs from Elements.
When I sync from folders or my pictures the pictures arrive without problem on my ATV
Since I don't want all of my photos to be sent to my AppleTV, I would really like to use my Photoshop Elements.
    Anybody any suggestions?
    Thnx,
    Egbert

    Hello,
I'm seeing exactly the same described bahavior using iTune 7.4.3 and PhotoShop Elements 5.0. I tried at least 4 versions of ITunes with all the same behavior. It's fine to sync from MyPictures but not from PhotoShop Elements Collections and these are exactly the same pictures that both are pointing to so no format issues. Same behavior from iTunes, a warning sign appears next to the AppleTV but when I click on it it does not show any text to describe the issue ?
I doubt that the iTunes + Phitoshow elements 5.0 couple works at all ?
Can anybody help with this ? Maybe Apple ?
    Regards

  • Can't sync photos with photoshop elements 11 album

I just upgraded to photoshop elements 11. When I attempt to sync photos in iTunes (to synch with my iPhone), Photoshop Elements appears in the drop down and when I select it, it finds all the "albums" in the catalog. However, when I select an album to sync, iTunes indicates 0 photos are available in the album.
I'm running photoshop elements 11, iTunes 11.0.1.12, Windows 8 Pro.
    Any thoughts?
Oh, and if I try to sync "all photos and albums" it still reports that there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've tried to make new albums, which iTunes "sees" the names, but there are "0 photos" available to sync.
I've also tried to sync with a folder (file system) which works just fine.
    Any thoughts?

I solved the mystery. It had to do with the file metadata in the Photoshop Elements catalog. When I moved the catalog (pictures) from my old machine to the new machine, the path (folder location) of the images changed. So, although the catalog had cached thumbnails of the photos to display in Photoshop Elements (which tricked me into thinking that the path to the images was correct), the paths were actually wrong. All I had to do was “reconnect” the missing images (a feature in Photoshop Elements which corrects missing/wrong paths to images) and now everything works correctly (sync in iTunes).

I am experiencing the same problem after upgrading to PSE13, but haven't found a solution yet.
TomWoodbridge proposes a workaround, see Re: iTunes Photo Sync with PhotoShop Elements Fails after PSE Update
Another permanent workaround (which doesn't require to copy the pse database every time you want to sync) is described here: Elements 13: Cannot synchronise photo albums in iTunes after upgrading from Elements 11
    Hope this helps.

  • Problem sync photos from Photoshop Elements since iTunes 7

I have been having problems syncing my photos ever since Apple launched iTunes 7 and iOS 6. I run Windows 7, I sync my photos from Photoshop Elements to the iPad 2 and the iPhone 3GS. I never had problems with the sync prior to the September changes by Apple. What happens is that only a portion of the photos that I have earmarked for sync in their respective selected albums are making it to the devices.
In terms of troubleshooting, I have tried many things to no avail. I have tried to add a new photo to an album to sorta kickstart a sync. I have deleted the iPod photo cache from the Elements Organizer. I have removed photos from the device. I have tried syncing without syncing Photos.
None of these have worked. It's pretty clear that there is a glitch in Apple's updates, which will need to be addressed along the way. Photos traveled seamelssly in this method until the September updates.
Anyone else experience this, or have any last-dash ideas? It's pretty frustrating.

Of course, by "iTunes 7", I meant "iTunes 10.7", but can't seem to edit my OP.

  • Problem with editing Aperture photos with Photoshop Elements 10

When I try to edit with Photoshop Elements 10, Aperture makes a tiff file, starts Photoshop Elements 10 and get to a screen where I have a choice between "editing" or "managing" files.  I select editing but when i finally get the editing screen there is no photo to edit.  Process worked fine in Elements 9 and Aperture 3.1. Anybody been able to roundtrip with Aperture 3.2.1 and Photoshop Elements 10?

(Aperture 3 and PSE 10; Lion; using Referenced files in Aperture)
I tried Barbara's recommended method and PSE now opens with the image displayed and accepts edits.  However, when I save the adjusted image, what I get in Aperture is a TIFF file of that name but with no edits displayed.
When I go to the directory in which the referenced files are located, the adjusted file exists and I can view it.
So, (at least as I have things configured), when accessing PSE from Aperture I am able to make adjustments and save the adjusted file, but the adjusted file does not display in Aperture.
Is anyone having success with Barbara's method using referenced files?
I hope it is not necessary to do a separate import to get the adjusted file to display in Aperture - which would make PSE totally impractical for use.
Thanks in advance for any help.

  • Problem syncing photos in photoshop elements?

I have selected photo albums in photoshop elements (pse) that I have previously synced to my iPhone and iPad using iTunes. Now after upgrading from pse 7 to pse 10 and upgrading to the latest version of iTunes, I can't sync my selected albums anymore.  In iTunes the only sync option with pse is all photos and albums. The selected albums option is grayed out and I never see my album list. It seems iTunes can no longer find my albums or maybe my pse catalog. Does anyone know what's wrong?  Thanks.

  • Can't sync photos with Adobe Elements 6.0

Hi I am unable to sync my photographs to the iPod using Adobe Elements 6.0 The albums are not showing up in iTunes. I read somewhere that it may work if the photos are in "collections" & not Albums but I can't work out how to do this.
The iTunes help section says that Elements v3 or later will sync photos. Can anyone help me on this? I did wait for the latest version of iTunes before asking.
Many thanks, I look forward to your replies.

  • Need help with startup Sync issue with Photoshop Elements 8.0

When starting up Photoshop Elements 8.0 a brief dialog appears about sync space being filled up with options for Cancel or Proceed. This is then quickly covered up by the frame showing Survey/Show What's New/etc... cannot get back to dialog about sync space. Only way to get into the program is to click on the right arrows in the Welcome to Elements frame, start a tour, click right arrow until Go box is presented and then click on Go. Major PITA to do this. If we are quick, we can click on the initial dialog and click on Cancel or Proceed and get into the program without the covered up frame. We are running PSE8 on Windows 7.
I have shut off sync and still this problem remains.I have been a loyal Adobe product user but this Automatic Sync stuff is really starting to get VERY irritating.
Thanks for any help that can be provided.

A lot of people are finding the same frustrations. Apparently PSE8 does not let you select start up with the Editor but forces the welcome screen on users. This is a classic case of Adobe not knowing what customers want and giving us what they think we want. It ignores the fact that the majority of users will have upgraded from earlier versions.
You can make quick short cuts. If using windows right click on the desktop, select new short cut then browse to program files, Adobe Photoshop elements and scroll right down the list and click on Editor; then finish.
You can do the same for the organizer and then launch each one independently.
You need to think carefully whether you need to keep everything in sync with Photoshop.com. Several users have found problems when they have quickly used up their free storage capacity and then have to pay Adobe an upgrade fee just to continue using the program, otherwise they are locked out.

  • How do I straighten a photo with Photoshop Elements?

I opened a JPEG file and went to "Select" and clicked on "Select All", I then selected "Images" and wanted to click on "Transform" but it was "whited out" (not available), the only options that were available in Images were Rotate, Crop, Re-Size and Convert Color Profile.
I would like to straighten the photo, WHAT am I doing wrong?
    Thanks,
    Bob

Thank you for your help Little Pale Face, I probably am a little higher than a novice so I use mostly Quick and sometime Guided and as you can probably tell, don't feel comfortable enough to use Advance mode.
Transform was not an option in either Quick or Guided so I (reluctantly) checked Advance where it WAS an option.
As I mentioned, I am a novice so I am not familiar with Advance but figured out how to (slightly) shift/straighten the photo but that left a little "blank" space on the bottom and side so I guessed that I had to crop the photo so that only the picture and not the blank area, would appear. I don't know if what I did was correct and assume there must be a better way to straighten photos.
    Thank you Little Pale Face.

  • Problems syncing iTunes 10.5 with Photoshop Elements

    Hi all,
I've used the "Sync Photos from Photoshop Elements" option in iTunes for a long time to sync photos with my iPhone and iPad. Something's gone wrong with this since I upgraded to iTunes 10.5. I use Photoshop Elements 7.
For the iPhone, I sync to a single album in my PSE catalog. This album has about 400 photos in it. iTunes can find the album, but since the update to 10.5, it now reports that there are 0 photos in it.
For the iPad, I sync to the entire PSE catalog. This has about 2000 photos, but iTunes now reports back that there are only seven photos in it.
The only software change I've made is the update to iTunes 10.5. The photos are definitely still in the PSE catalog, and are definitely stil on my PC hard drive.
Any ideas? I know I can use a work-around by copying the PSE album to a separate folder and syncing with iTunes that way, but the direct sync with PSE 7 is something I'd like to keep if possible.

Same problem here.  Someone else in this thread suggested the problemwas solved by downloading the latest iTunes but the iTunes check says I havethe latest (10.5.1).
What is really frustrating is spending an hour on the phone with Apple, whosay "we don't know the solution, it must be an Adobe problem, we don'tsupport Adobe, call Adobe tech support".  I pointed out that theiTunes software suggests Photoshop Elements as a sync option, so obviously theiTunes developers intended to support Elements, but the tech support staff thisevening apparently cannot see why they should care.  I asked Evan (no lastname given), the senior tech I was eventually transferred to, to at least sendme an e-mail saying they couldn't or wouldn't help me, so I could show thee-mail to the support staff at Adobe, but he said they were not allowed to sende-mails.  I pressed him and he said he'd check, and after 10 minutes onhold hung up on me.  I'd heard Apple phone support was good but that's not my experience.

  • Syncing Photos through Photoshop/iTunes

I have synced my photos with Photoshop Elements 5 for several years with no problems. The folders I created in Photoshop transferred nicely to my iPod. Recently, iTunes wiped out the folders that I had created on my iPod and will no longer sync using Photoshop. It will only permit syncing with the "My Pictures" folder on my hard drive. Any suggestions on how to get iTunes to work with Photoshop again? Thanks.
