Sync problems in Itunes, please help

here is the message:
Itunes cannot sync information with "IPhone" because syncing has been disablds on this computer. Do you want to enable syncing?
I click "Yes" and get this..
Syncing cannot be enabled on this computer!
Is there a fix for this.....Thanks!

Hello cmt268,
iSync is a bundled program with the Mac OS X. That means it can't be downloaded independently, it must be installed from the original disk that came with your computer (Or the install disk of any upgrades you have purchased since you bought the computer).
To reinstall iSync you can follow this public article on performing an Archive and Install: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1545
BEFORE going through that procedure I would suggest testing your issue in a new user on your computer. No point in reinstalling your entire operating system to restore a copy of the iSync program if everything is fine in another account.
Cheers!

  • Iphone 3GS 3.1.2 syncing problem...Please help....!

    Hi,
Can anyone out there please help me out...i just recently bought my iphone (n im lovin it to bitsssss)....few days ago ive been trying to sync my iphone with my ITUNES (lastest version) however i get an error saying:
ITUNES cannot read the content of the Iphone "Iphone". Go to summary tab in Iphones preferences and click Restore to restore to this iphone to default factory settings.
The problem is i have backed up my iphone 2-3 weeks last time and ive got so much changes apps, photos, settings and app data in it now that im not willing to lose my data. Can anyone help me figure out a way to resolve this either enabling a back up before restoring to default settings or not needing to restore it completely.
Any help very much appreciated. Thank you.

See if you can force the phone into recovery mode:
Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, itunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new.

  • Syncing Problem!! Please Help!

I have a 5th Generation iPod 30 GB. I also have an Iphone 3G and I sync both my iPod and Iphone with my iTunes. I made a playlist called "iphone" so I can sync only songs I want for my Iphone.
The problem I have is that I don't know how to sync my iPod without that playlist. It seems like if I don't have "Sync all songs and playlists" checked, NO SONGS get synced. And I have over 4000 songs in my iTunes library. On the main window "Sync all checked songs" is checked.
So my question is, how can I sync my entire iTunes library and "Recently Added" playlist ONLY to my iPod. I don't want my iphone or anything else syncing into my ipod. Thanks for anyone that helps!!

iTunes does not provide a way to sync everything "except" something, although that would be a nice feature. Rather than picking which playlists you want, you could instead have an exception list where you pick the ones you don't want.
Anyway, since you are syncing your whole library to the iPod anyway, you are getting everything in all your playlists to begin with. So having those playlists sync over as well do not add anything additional to your iPod other than the lists themselves. So my fiurst suggestion is to simply ignore the other playlists on your iPod.
My second suggestion is if your issue with the playlists syncing over is that it makes scrolling down and finding your "Recently Added" playlist take a bit longer (or more difficult to do while driving, for example) then second suggestion is to rename the "Recently Added" playlist so that it always shows at the top of the playlist list. Add a space at the beginning of the name or call it "aaa Recently Added" or something like that.
Third choice is to simply make a Smart Playlist that has a rule that all the tracks will follow. For example, a rule where the year IS NOT 1000 would create a playlist that includes every song in your library that wasn't released in the year 1000, which should be everything. Now set up your iPod to sync only two specific playlists, the "Not 1000" playlist and the "Recently Added" playlist. Now your iPod will have your entire library but only two playlists in the playlist menu.
    Cheers,
    Patrick

  • Syncing problem with 3Gs, please help!

I just bought the new iphone. I then sync'd my old phone one last time with iTunes 8, then plugged in the new phone assuming that the backed-up sync would carry to my new phone. It seems the new phone only sees a sync from a few months ago, so not all of my settings and texts and emails have carried over. Please help!

Just did a full restore on my 3GS and when it restored it properly restored the latest/desired backup set of everything.

  • IPod iTunes won't sync with computer iTunes - please help

    Hi,
I recently purchased an album on iTunes wireless (Maroon 5 - highly recommended) and when I connected my iPod to iTunes to sync the songs did not transfer to my computer's iTunes. Nothing happened basically.
I've read the manual that says that they should sync automatically but nothing that I've tried works.
My setting is for manual sync and transfer of songs and I would really like to keep it like that since I don't want all my iTunes library to be dumped into my newly purchased iPod Touch. PLEASE HELP
    Thanks,
    Tal

If you manually manage your music it won't automatically sync your Maroon 5. Connect the Touch, right click on it in the Source frame under devices, then select transfer purchases.

  • Syncing problems!! Please Help!!!

I have recently upgraded to an Iphone 4, but now face the problem of not being able to sync any music what so ever to my phone. I get several different error messages each time I try to sync. I have tried deleting Itunes and re-installing, also removing the Iphone device completley as well as making sure every song is checked. Is this a problem across all Iphones and or is there a solution so that I can begin to get music on my phone??
Any help will be very much appreciated as I feel like Ive tried everything!!!

I have spoken to 5 or 6 of my friends with Iphones that seem to have similar issues. I managed to sync a few albums this morning but the songs play a little and skip back to the start and then skip halfway through the songs. I tried syncing again and it has now wiped all songs.
I get several error messages either the files are corrupted and cannot be synced but they all play in itunes and some have been on the phone before. I also get just there was an error writing to the device, there is also apparently not enough disk space even though I have nothing on my phone and have plenty of space on my laptop. I have borrowed my brothers Ipod shuffle and that syncs fine.

and when I click on OK, the window closes and I can't get any further in trying to download iTunes. I've tried all the tips on the website, I've deleted all temp files, deleted Quicktime player and tried to re-download that, I've used the msconfig and turned off all applications that may interfer with the download, including my firewall, but so far nothing has worked!!! I even emailed the customer support but they told me I'd sent my request to the wrong place and they were no help at all, except to tell me to download the latest version of iTunes!!! I would if I could, but I can't!!!
Please does anyone have any ideas on how I can get iTunes on my computer so my computer recognises my iPod?!?! I don't even want to get music off iTunes, I just want to get my music off my computer and I can't do that without iTunes!!!
Any ideas would be fantastic as I'm about to crack up!!!

Ok so I got a disc from a friend who recently, and successfully, installed iTunes to see if that would help. I managed to save the iPod Updater (whatever that is) but then I got an error message saying "1628: Failed to complete installation", so still no iTunes. I've tried to uninstall amd reinstall my USB ports to see if that would help but still nothing!! Does anyone know if there is a file that you can put directly onto your iPod that allows any computer that it's plugged into to recognise it so music can be synced from Windows Media Player without the need for iTunes?
Oh and thanks to everyone who's replied, it's really appreciated even if I'm still as frustrated as ever!!!

  • Problems with iTunes, please help

    Hey:
This is my problem... I just bought and iPod Nano and installed the iTunes software, and at the beginning it was working perfect, then my computer started doing weird stuff every time iTunes was on and it even got me the blue screen of death (I have a PC and my OS is Windows Vista Ultimate) so I had to restart my computer.
After doing it, I cant open iTunes anymore. Each time I do I get first a message that says "iTunes has stopped working. Windows is looking for a solution to the problem.", after that I get a message that says "iTunes has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if any solution is available."
Then I get a windows that says this:
    "Download updates for iTunes
This problem was caused by iTunes. iTunes was created by Apple Inc..
    Solution
A newer version of iTunes is available for download that will address this problem. Apple Inc. recommends updating to the latest version of iTunes to take advantage of security and stability improvements.
Go to the Apple Inc. website and install the latest version of iTunes:
    Apple Inc."
But Im already running the last version and Ive even desinstalled and installed the software twice. I dont know what else to do and without iTunes, my iPod Nano is worth nothing.
These r the details of the problem Im getting:

What happens if you try to start Quicktime? Does it work normally? I am guessing that it doesn't, but describe what happens with any error message in full.
I am jumping the gun with the troubleshooting sequence here, but ...
Have installed any of the following - ACE & K-Lite mega codecs package, QT alternative, Storm codec, also WinAVI video converter. These are know to cause problems with QUicktime and need to be uninstalled.
ANyway I suggest you do a complete removal of iTunes and associated programs followed by a phased install of QUicktime then iTunes.
Download a new copy of iTunes and the stand alone Quicktime installer:
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Use the follwing method to remove the programs:
    XP
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93698
    Vista
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305409
Install Quicktime and check if it works, then install iTunes.
    Does it work now?
This has been based on the assumption that QUicktime doesn't work, if it is OK here is an iTunes troubleshooting link:

  • Unknown problem installing itunes please help

Hey, im trying to install itunes on a computer and i keep getting the following error
"itunes installer completed, the installer has encountered errors before itunes could be configured. to retry these operations at a later time, please run the installer again"
anyone had this problem or have any ideas on how to fix it?

Hi Fariha I have the exact opposite of what you are experiencing.Mine is in a stopped state and refuses to start. lol. Its in the link below.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1892032&tstart=0
I might be able to piggy back on your thread. First of all have you triedd stopping the service though task manager? Do that and see if there is an error message. I hope someone can suggest a registry hack that may solve this IPOD service issue.

  • Serious problem with itunes, please help!

ITunes gives me an error when I try and open it, says windows has encountered an error. I tried uninstalling it and it gives me another error but says iTunes has uninstalled and asks me to restart. iTunes is gone from my add/remove menu but quicktime remains and refuses to uninstall. The uninstall box simply closes halfway through opening the uninstallation program. Help please!

    hi matt!
gaah. okay, first of all, make sure your
    b antivirus and antispyware
are switched off during installs and uninstalls.
lets try using the Windows Cleanup utility to remove the QT clog in your Add/Remove:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
... and also use it to make sure you've got rid of any last vestiges of itunes from your system (i don't like the sound of that crash on the uninstall).
then use the instructions on uninstalls given here as a guide to manually removing itunes and QT program files and folders:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
now download and save to your hard-drive a standalone QT installer (well run the installation from there rather than online). there's a link to a standalone inside here:
Scott Patrie, "Installation hangs on "installing QuickTime"", 10:33pm Oct 7, 2004 CDT
once that is properly installed, reboot. then download and save an itunes 5.0.1.4 installer to your hard-drive, and then run that.
keep us posted on your progress. if you get any further errors, describe them as fully as you can (include error message numbers if you're getting any).
    love, b

i tried to sync my ipad to my itunes using usb but it will say not charging,, i can sync with my ipod touch without any problem... please help..

    From http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4060 :
The fastest way to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter. When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge, but only when it's in sleep mode.
iPods need less power to charge them (their wall charger is half the power of the iPad's, 5W as opposed to 10W), so are more likely to charge via USB
