Sync problems w Mac & Curve (deletion of contacts)

I have a Curve 8520 software v 5.0.0.900 & a Mac (with Leopard). I've had the phone a little over a year now and been successfully syncing to iCal and to Apple Address Book v4.1.2(702) (lately via BlackBerry Desktop v2.0.0).
Recently I noticed some contacts missing -- most noticeably my wife! She called me and it showed up as her phone number only. Strangely, the Speed Dial still dialed her number.
I reentered her info and successfully synced again. Don't know what caused it, so don't know how the fix could be suggested.

Hi Steve, Thanks for that. When I conect the phone it comes up with iphoto and starts to sync and then when that is finnished the itunes window shows my phone syncing at the top of the screen. The only button that says iphone which is on top right only asks if I want to eject and then disapears when sync finnishes. I can not see any other way of showing a side bar view and i can not access any way of controling the sycn service. It seems to be syncing calander but not my contacts. Have I missed something?

I have exactly the same problem on my ipad. It is happening on only some contacts but, as with you, when I delete one of the contacts on the ipad, the second ipad contact and the contact on the imac are also deleted. This is even the case when I have differentiated the two contacts on the ipad and can see the one I have deleted on the ipad is not the same one as is then deleted on the imac.

Sync Problems with Blackberry Curve 8310

I am also having a problem sync my new Blackberry Curve 8310. I previously had a Palm Treo 650. I was finally able to sync the contacts from my Palm to my Blackberry. I am assuming just like the Palm Treo software I can also view the contacts on my desktop, but I have not been able to view the contacts on the Blackberry Desktop Manager software. Where do I view this information, that I might have downloaded, there is now tab for the software that allows me to manager my contacts and my calender.
I use Outlook express for my emails is there any way I can make the Outlook Express the primary software on my desktop for managing my contacts and my calender and being able to sync to my Blackberry.

DM is not like the Palm Desktop in that there is no set of visual organizers (calendar-contacts-tasks-memos) to see. DM serves to sync your data between the BB and another desktop application.

When I migrated over from my Treo 650, the Switch Device Wizard did not work. As a workaround, I sync'd my Palm with Outlook 2003. To do this I had to use the original cd that came with my Treo to change the conduits so the Palm Desktop sync'd with Outlook. Not sure if I needed to use the cd to do this, I think you can change those setting in Palm Desktop, but make sure to map the fields well so your data imports into Outlook as you want it. (The fields are a little different between Palm and Outlook). ALWAYS make sure you get a good sync of your Palm data before doing any of this. That way you'll have the data in the Palm Desktop as a backup.
Once I had the data sync'd to Outlook, I just had to set up the synchronization setting on DM to sync over to my BB.

Sync problem with mac ical

A recent bb upgrade deleted all previous calendar events on my macbook pro ical application. All events going forward since the upgrade are ok. Unfortunately, i didn't have my ical backed up so I lost all posted ical events prior to the date of the bb upgrade. Very sad

THERE IS A FIX!! I had this problem and it was driving me crazy!
It's an old fix for the same problem from a previous upgrade, but it worked like a charm! On your Mac...
Navigate to <User>/Library/Application Support/
Delete the BlackBerryDesktop folder.
Empty the Trash Bin.
Restart BlackBerry Desktop Manager.
when you restart your desktop manager and go to sync your information make sure you MERGE data since your ical has been cleared out! OTHERWISE YOU WILL LOSE EVEYTHING FROM YOUR BB!

Syncing Iphone and Iphone has deleted ALL contacts from Outlook - Help!

I have on many occassions synced my Iphone without issue.
This time syncing the IPhone has deleted ALL the contacts on the hone and WITHIN Outlook.
Can I regain the lost contacts safely from the back up?
I have over 300 contacts and don't want to have to copy them all in manually.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Restore the missing contacts file on your PC from your PC backup.
Or, it you've backed up your iphone to icloud or itunes, you can try performing a restore of the iphone.

ICloud Drive Sync Problems on Mac OS X Yosemite

Hello all,
I have been having issues with my iCloud drive for many months with slow syncing and documents being outdated. Typically a restart would solve the problem but it seems that it has gotten worse lately. Especially after purchasing the 20GB plan and starting its use heavily for work and personal.
The problem seems to be sporadic where the Sync takes several hours to complete. I am not sure what's the best way to identify the progress of the Sync, but I know that some of my files are out of date when I get home after working on them all day in the Office. I have been trying to solve this problem by restarting my laptop or iMac once, twice, and three times until the bars show up and the sync actually starts. If I don't force the sync by restarting the documents are never updated.
This morning, it has got really bad and I ended up signing out of my iCloud on my MacBook Pro, restarted, and then logged in again to iCloud drive. Its been hours and only a portion of the documents have been synced, the rest are basically stuck...I am not sure whats the best way to debug this problem and fix it.
I have gone through the basic debugging steps, so checking that I have the right ID, restarted the Mac, etc are all tried and many times. I need a serious set of steps to debug this problem. I am a fairly accomplished power user and have been using Macs since the late 80s.

My problem continues with no solution - I narrowed down the issue to the following:
1) When I open the lid of my MacBook Pro and go to iCloud, the cloud icon with a down arrow appears on all the new files that need to be synced
2) The files never download or update
3) Performing 2 or 3 restarts kicks the sync process off
Interestingly, on my work MacBook Pro and my iMac this issue doesn't exist. So it seems there os something on my MacBook pro that is causing the sync to get stuck.
Any ideas what to check?

ICloud email sync problem on mac os x mavericks

Hi,
I have a serious problem with my iCloud email on my mac. I have been using iCloud email for few years now and I never had this problem. But I am having the problem after upgrading my iMac to latest mac os x mavericks 10.9.3 couple of months back.
The problem is, when someone sends me an email, it comes to my iCloud mail immediately with no issues. That means if I login to my iCloud mail through a web browser, I see the email there. But that email may not appear to my iMac mailbox. Occasionally some emails arrive but some not. Some emails come lately some not at all.
So the mailbox on my mac is totally unusable because I am sure not all emails are seen there, so I have to keep logging into mail through browser to check if there is a new email.
I am using me.com email address.
Any help is appreciated.

Sync problems with my Curve 8330 and Windows outlook

I recently changed my computer from xp to windows 7. I loaded the Blackberry software on my new computer and after setting the configs in synchronization to sync with outlook " transfer all scheduled items" and press "finish I get an error message box MIcrosoft Outlook Connector " no available message stores" . When I press the OK button it defaults back to the "select device application menu and Calendar etc is unchecked even though they were checked prior. Anybody have any experience with this? I have two iphones and i synced them now i cant delete my contacts off one phone without it automatically deleting off the other.. how can i fix this?

That's what syncing does. It keeps the information on multiple devices "in sync" with each other. It is working as designed.
What are you syncing your iPhones with? iTunes, iCloud, Google Sync, Exchange?
If you don't want one phone to sync with the other, you'll have to turn off syncing on that phone, or change what it syncs with.

Google Syncing Problem

For a long time now I've had Google sync set up using exchange for my Google calendar. I'm using a normal Gmail account. No problems. Yesterday I set up a new Gmail account and established a new set of contacts, and set up a 2nd Exchange account on my phone for it. No problems. It brought the GMail contacts down to my phone just fine. Then I added a new contact on the phone and noticed that it never made it to my Gmail contacts, as if push wasn't working from the phone to the Google cloud. It had been almost half a day since I added it but the new contact never synced. So I decided to delete my Calendar account and re-add it back, just to see if syncing was happening at all with Google. Maybe Google servers were down. Sure enough, the calendars didn't sync either. Then I deleted my contacts account and re-added it back, but the contacts did come back. The Calendar account still hasn't synced at all though. I checked my wife's phone, who uses the same Google Calendar account, and her's is working just fine. Basically, is anyone else having recent problems with Google syncing? Is there a way to force the push sync? It sure appears that something's amiss on my particular phone with push syncing. Any ideas?

This was a big "never mind". Somehow the correct calendar group wasn't selected in the groups to display. Operator error.

Deleted a contact from your iPhone's address book and if so, do you sync your iPhone's contact information with the Address Book on your Mac?

Iphone Sync deleted all contacts on google, Mac Address Book and Itunes

I have my phone synced to my google contacts. I did a sync trying to sync itunes, google and my address book and now everything has been deleted. I created a back up a month ago but when I do a restore from back up, it still does not give me my contacts, some how it is still syncing to google which is now blank. It's weird because the restore even gives me texts and photos I had on the back up date but it won't give me the contacts. I have tried changing the settings on the phone so it won't sync to google, I even changed my password on google hoping this would stop teh sync & allow the backup to show my contacts. I have tried using an iphoen extractor as well but since my phone is not jailbroken I am unable to use the file. I would appreciate any help you can give me.

Iphone syncs to google contacts but last sync deleted all of them (google & address book). I do have a back up which I know has all the contacts but when I do the restore, it still is syncing to google so I still don't have any contacts. Hello. I cannot send or receive Yahoo mails on my i-pad. G-Mail is OK. All Apps are OK. Wi-Fi is OK. I-Cloud is OK. 3G is OK. All OK except Yahoo Mail. The message on i-pad is "cant receive/send mail. the connection to the server failed." My Mac Computer is fine,mails sent and received. My i-pod is fine. Mails sent and received on both.. Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Yes.
If you don't want that to happen, then don't select the "Sync Contacts" option on your next sync.
