Sync reminders without iCloud?

It would appear from everything I have tried and read, that you still cannot sync reminders from your Mac to an iPod via the USB cable. If I am wrong in this assumption, please explain how to accomplish this task. I am running 10.7.2 and iOS 5.0 on my 4G iPod.
Thanks,
Steve H

It is the case that you must sync your iPhone with iCloud in order to get Reminders to appear on iCal. IMHO a retrograde step.
I'll keep using Toodledo's OTA iCal subscription feature, whereby items entered on your iPhone, when synced OTA to your Toodledo account, will appear in the Reminders list in iCal (as a pulled subscribed calendar; you can't edit these items in iCal).

  • Need to sync Reminders without iCloud.

    Hi, all.
I just upgraded to ML and one of the reasons I did it was to use Reminders and Notes.
After trying to figure out how to sync Reminders between my Mac and iPhones I decided to post this question. I need to sync Reminders but can't use iCloud to do it. How can I sync Reminders using either the connecting cable or Wi-FIn?
    Thanks in advance.

Probably iTunes.  It's the app to use for Calendars, at least.

  • Can't sync Reminders without iCloud?

Really? For something as basic as Reminders (i.e. To-Do's) you are forced to use iCloud and can't sync through iTunes?
    Really??
I have no intention of ever using iCloud for any kind of Sync, and it seems just odd to me that it Reminders can't be synced through iTunes where you an sync everything else (notes, etc)...
I assume I am not missing anything? Otherwise, I'm sticking with my 3rd party To-Do lists.

  • How to sync reminders without calendar?

    Hello,
on iPhone and iPad, it's no problem to sync reminders and calendar seperatly.
Not in Mountain Lion, there it's called "calendar & reminders".
I'm syncing my calendar with Google and I want to still use that way.
How can I sync reminders without calendar?
    Thanks,
    David

    Hi to all,
I am unable to sync neither my calendar nor my contacts to my brand new 160GB iPod classic from iTunes 7.5. All ticked and enabled in preferences, I am aufait with iTunes so I have all the settings correctly enabled - I believe my stumbling block is Outlook/Office 2007 Enterprise Edition??? I have switched to Vista in the last few weeks but that is not the root of the problem, as I had this problem first on my last machine - XP HOME.
Is there a conflict with new generation iPod's and Outlook 2007?

  • Need to sync Notes and Reminders Without iCloud to maintain confidential information

Does anyone have a way to sync Notes & Reminders WITHOUT using iCloud? Directly through USB cable or my home network would be good. Can't Apple understand that users may not want to send confidential information into the Cloud???

With a backup maintained for your iTunes library along with all other important data stored on an external hard drive or some other external media used for backup purposes only, losing all iTunes content on your iPhone with the first sync with iTunes on another computer would be avoided.

iTunes includes an option to transfer iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store from an iPod or iPhone but this is for iTunes content that was purchased/downloaded from the iTunes store only including paid and free apps. First you need to authorize the computer with your iTunes account with iTunes. With your iPhone connected and without syncing, the iTunes menu bar go to File and select Transfer Purchases From - the name of your iPhone.

  • Syncing contacts without Icloud

I have zero interest in Icloud... I have different things on my Iphone than on my computer and on and on..bla bla bla  I don't want the phone syncing with Icloud and often shut off the access to the phone when traveling and such for security reasons.. isn't there a way that I can just transfer my contacts and mail info only when plugged into my computer anymore?  geesh  why would I WANT to use Icloud when i can just plug it in and it'll trandfer faster and safer?

With that sort of fear, you have no business with a smart phone or with one that connects to the internet in any capacity.
You darn sure don't speak for the millions of users out there.
I'm no "big exec" type but I have a Mac at home, personal iPhone, business iPhone, personal iPad, and business desktop PC at my office. I'm able to sync my business Exchange account email, contacts, calendar events, notes, and reminders over the air with my business PC, personal Mac at home, and with all iOS devices without needing to connect all iOS devices to my PC at work and to my Mac at home on a daily basis, and the same for my personal iCloud account that is accessed on all.
You mean to tell me what I do is unusual among the millions of users throughout the world and is only for the "big exec" types, and how about for those without a computer that use an iPad in its place along with an iPhone?
If you have a Mac running OS X 10.9, you are no longer able to sync contacts direct with the address book or contacts app via the iTunes sync process, and email account mailboxes and email has never been synced with iTunes and never will.

  • Sync contacts without iCloud

My G5 with OSX 10.5.8 can't be upgraded further and is my main computer. Is there a work around to sync my iPhone 4 with address book contacts and calender without using iCloud? Is there a third party software that lets contacts and calendar events to be sync? P/S a newer computer is in the works but not just yet.

    Sync using iTunes instead.

  • Reminders on iCloud, my iPad mini, MacAir, and Mac mini all sync well.  However my iPhone will not sync Reminders with iCloud.  It appears to be setup identically to the iPad??

Reminders syncs well with my iPad mini, MacAir, and Mac mini.  However my iPhone 5 Reminders does not.  Items I enter on one of the devices show-up on iCloud and the other devices except for my iPhone 5.  Vice versa if I enter a new item on my iPhone it does not show up on the other devices or iCloud.  Essentially the same things happens when I complete an item.  When I review how iCloud and Reminders is setup on the iPad and iPhone it appears to be the same.
    Charles

First check that all your settings are correct, that reminders syncing (calendars on a computer) is checked on all devices (system preferences > iCloud on a mac and settings > iCloud on a iPhone, iPad or iPod).
Make sure the reminders you are adding are added to your 'iCloud' account and not an 'On My Mac', 'On My Phone'  or other non iCloud account (you can do this by checking in accounts on an iOS device by tapping the icon with three lines in the top left corner of the screen, or the right side panel by clicking on the small triangle to the right of the word 'Reminders' in iCal on a computer), non iCloud reminders will not sync.
If you are sure that everything is set up correctly and your reminders are in the iCloud group, you might try unchecking reminders syncing (calendars syncing on a computer) in the iCloud settings, restarting your device and then re-enabling reminders syncing.

  • How do I sync Calendars without icloud?

    Hi.
Thanks in advance for the help.
How can I sync my calendar and contacts between my iphone 4S with ios7 and my macbook with snow leopard (or if I update to Maverick, but don't want to due to touchpad limitations/changes) without using icloud? In order to save time, I will never use icloud even if I have to stop using my iphone and go to another phone.

    Hi.
Everything appears to sync, but my iphone calendar will not update my macbook calendar. it goes to the other way, from macbook to iphone, but not from iphone to mac. (This is with itumes.)
I'll check on using one of the others, though.
    Thanks.

  • ITunes: where is the option to sync music without iCloud ????

I have 3000+ songs in my iTunes account on my mac Mini
I upgraded to iO6 and now, the only option I have to sync my music that I see is with iCloud.  I no longer have an option to sync the music on my computer directly to my iPhone.
iClould doesn't work at 41,000' with no wi-fi and no cell service, or when I am camping in remote areas.
Where is the option in iTunes to sync music from a computer to a iPhone or other device?
    Thanks for the help folks.

    Thanks sberman.
    I have iTunes 10.7 (21)
I don't have Mountain Lion, and there is no option to "Sync Music" when I plug my iPhone in.  I have had a Powerbook G4 since 2005, and have being using iTunes since 2005 with multiple iPods, iPhones.
There simply isn't an option to sync my music with my iPhone 4S.
I do see the ability to sync contacts, photos, but when I click on the music tab under iTunes, I see this image:
I have never seen this option before and would love to see the option to "Sync All Music", "Syn All Playlist" and "Sync Selected Playlists" or whateve the old screen options where.
Do you really think this is a iOS 10.7.5 issue vs 10.8 (Mountain Lion)?
Thank you very much for your replies.

  • Syncing fotos without iCloud

    hi
I  used to keep my fotos on my mac and sync the iPhoto lib with my iphone. now syncing is possible a) via iCloud, or b) syncing a directory (not the foto library).
    I have two options:
dump all my fotos into files
or buy iCloud space vor 4$ p.m.
Is there a way to go the old way? just syncing out of my foot lib to my phone?
    thanx
    sfr

Yes, if you keep the new iCloud options turned off, iTunes will sync the photos just like before.  I did this yesterday, and it works, but requires that you reset the photo download folders option, so that all existing photos are deleted on the iPad and re-downloaded.
There are options to sync photos from files or from Photos. I chose to keep syncing from files so don't know how it works to sync from Photos, but you probably will have to create folders for the photos that you want do download unless you have room to download all of them.

  • Syncing devices without icloud

My iPad2 has my most up to date contacts, calendar.  I want to now update a new iphone5 via our Mac.  I not want to use iCloud if at all possible.  Plus at this point i do not want any iTunes or iPhotos to be loaded onto the phone from the Mac.

I want my iPad to update the mac contact list, because the iPad has the correct info.  Right now that isn't happening when I connect the two devices. Then I want the. newly updated info to go from the Mac to my iphone.
I really don't understand the Apple operating systems so please be very detailed when replying.  Thank you!!!!!!
