Sync requires setup every time I load firefox

Every time I load up firefox on either of my computers I have to setup Firefox Sync again.
Am using Firefox 4.0 RC1 on both computers.

Every time i load firefox 5 it opens 2 tabs, one being the homepage, the other being the "welcome to firefox 5" window

I recently upgraded to firefox 5
now every time i load firefox, it checks my plugins with a load bar and then brings up the "Welcome to Firefox 5" window, as well as a 2nd tab for my homepage. if i have to uninstall/reinstall, what files to i have to backup in order to keep my bookmarks, skins, tabs and settings?

IPad air2 on startup requires setup every time.

After shutting down iPad & starting back up. Ipad requires setup every time.

Are you saying that you have to activate the device again every time that you power up the iPad? If so, did you try restoring with ITunes?
BTW, there is no reason why you need to power down and then power up again on a regular basis. My iPad Air 2 has only been powered down about three times in three months.

Thanks for the swift reply. I'm sorry I wasn't clear in my question. Two tabs are loaded. One tab is my Home Page the other is the tab called "Ask a question|Navigation|Firefox Help" It's not a problem, just an irritation because I delete the tab every time. I have the "Help" menu selection and can click at any time so I don't need that "Ask a question|Navigation|Firefox Help" tab loading each time.

Firefox updater does a compatibility check that is just a quick flash on screen then firefox loads with the welcome to firefox tab enabled

Final Cut Pro X 10.8 crashes every time I load firefox

Final Cut Pro X 10.8 crashes everytime I load firefox. I have reinstalled both programs and it still just keeps crashing. I asked an apple FCPX expert and they said they had no idea why. The other software I have loaded is Logitech Vid. It doesn't crash but it auto loads everytime I run FCPX

That's video chat software. You need to contact Logitech about why there software is firing up when FCP is launched. You probably have an extension in Firefox that's interfering with FCP. Try disabling all extensions.

I just got a new Mac Airbook with MAC OS 10.6.8 and now every time I load Firefox, it tells me it was downloaded from the internet and am I sure I want to open it. How can get rid of that message?

I know this is a standard MAC message but I never got it with Firefox before changing computers. I also downloaded Firefox 5.0 and it is still doing it.

Well, the Import/Export instructions make it seem as if the two computers should be able to communicate this file thru wifi, but that's the linkage I can't seem tocreate with Import/Export. Should I instead email a copy to myself (thats what applecare suggested)? Copy it to and from a thumb drive? But then place the file where? And the article was helpful, but should I be trying to move the Library file or the Library.xml file (as iTunes Help suggests)? Sorry to be so clueless about it...I suppose I buy Apple in the hopes of not having to think about this stuff, which approach seems not to be serving me well. Thanks again for your time!

The sync fucntion resets every time I restart firefox. Why is this happening?

I open Firefox and set up sync. I have an existing account. When I close Firefox and then open again, the sync function is reset and I have to set it up all over again.

Changing the settings so that saved passwords are not deleted when Firefox closes solve the problem. I'm not using a master password so I don't think that is an issue.

Firefox beta 18 "not responding" every time I load a page. This didn't occur as much with FF3.5.4.

I have tried various upgrades/updates of Firefox (4 and above). I currently have Firebox beta 18. EVERY TIME I load a page, the browser will always hang and I get "Not Responding" in the status bar. The hang time is usually more than a few minutes or I'd have to end the program through the task manager. Sometimes after the freeze, I'll get a "warning: script was unresponsive" popup and then it will freeze again (I can't even press 'stop script' or 'continue') because the popup is "not responding".
I don't seem to have this problem with FF3.5.4 (only this version has deemed compatible) however I can't view flash plugins/media or certain features of a webpage because it's not updated. Therefore I would not like to downgrade back to 3.5.4 because there's no point if I can't view half the things on a page..

If you've updated from a version as ancient as 3.5.4, then you run the risk of encountering problems. You should start with a fresh profile to ensure old preferences, data files and changes made by extensions are not interfering.
First, create a backup copy of your profile folder, just to be safe.

Do not reinstall old versions of Firefox. They contain security vulnerabilities and shouldn't be used. That is the way Mac OS X 10.8 (aka Mountain Lion) works by default. Are you actually running that system? (See About This Mac in the Apple menu.) If so, make sure the check box in the shut down alert is checked:

I regret agreeing to download Firefox 3.6.10 update, as it is somehow corrupted, and will not load when I restart. Subsequently, every time I start Firefox, it warns "Update Ready to Install", then when I don't restart (if I restart, it won't load) it exits, and I have to start Firefox a second time. Then it works without the warning, but when I exit and start Firefox again, the warning returns and the cycle repeats. This is such a nuisance I have gone back (reluctantly) to Explorer. Is there anyway for me to get rid of this corrupted update and go back to before I downloaded the fateful update?

Why does firefox corrupt my bookmarks every time I load it on a different computer?

I found that a number of people have asked how to recover their bookmarks, but my question is why do I have to do it every day? I work on three different computers, and I love Firefox and have it as my default browser on each one. However, I had to turn on syncing bookmarks because every time I logged onto a different computer than the last one I used, sync screwed up my bookmarks, mostly by duplicating folders, but sometimes by emptying them. Now, the entire file doesn't (usually) get corrupted, although today it did, but opening Firefox on a different computer always adds a couple of folders that weren't there before.
Now, I back up my bookmarks manually every day on each computer using the "backup" option with "show all bookmarks" and also with FEBE, which is terrific. (FEBE has helped me recover multiple crashed Firefox installations -- but frequent crashed Firefox installations is another problem). So, I don't need to know how to save/preserve my bookmarks.
I'm just wondering why Mozilla doesn't fix this persistent problem?

Sync unfortunately is known to sometimes corrupt or duplicate bookmarks. I had hoped it may have been fixed with the New Sync but apparently not.
