Sync restarts every time I connect to wifi

every time I come home and my device connects to WiFi, Spotify begins the sync all over again - meaning it starts from 0 tracks synced and attempts to get all 1500 synced. If the app closes, crashes, or I leave home before it finishes I end up not having all my songs.. how can I stop it from beginning the sync from 0??

it happens the same to me, all time, it's really annoying, every time i get home or work it starts all over again and i don't have enough time to wait for it to sync or to be pressing any part of the screen to avoid the phone to go idle, so i leave without syncing and using my data plan, Hate this! x(

• Had to restart router every time to connect to wifi

Just got a new Mac Book Pro which had a wifi connectivity problem from day 1. Every time the computer went standby or restarted, the airport connection was lost. When I run network diagnostics, I was asked to restart networking device. If I unplug and plug router power cord, the computer would detect the network change and connect properly, but then next time I have to do it all over again. Apple support told me to delete some network preference files and it didn't work. I use a d-link router that has the latest firmware and works fine with all other computers/ipad/iphones etc.. Can anybody tell me how I can address this problem? Thanks!

Hey Gary, try these steps. It's what fixed my issue.

• Idownloaded the latest itunes for windows and it just does not sync and every time I connect the iPhone 5 the agreement comes up first. Help please.

I have had nothing but trouble with syncing my iPhone 5 with iTunes. I have installed the latest version of each and worked with support but no solution. Currently when I connect the iPhone the Terms and conditions appear every time, I agree and sometimes there is a sync and sometimes not. It also tells me I have 5 conflicts but looking at Outlook and the phone there is no conflict. If you tell the system to correct the conflicts it gives a message it cannot access the conflict server. I am running Windows 7.
Any help would be appreciated

Make sure you have your data backed up, then reset sync services per the instructions below.
OS X: Resetting Sync Services
This should take care of the iTunes issue.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.

• Restart computer every time I connect ipod

I'm having a problem with my 30GB 5G ipod. Every time I connect it to my MacBook running Leopard it tells me that I need to restart my computer. This is an ipod that I've been using for quite a while and I've never had this problem before (it just started happening within the last day). I should also mention that I have a 2G Touch and an iphone 3G and I'm not having this problem with either one of those devices. Any idea what could be causing this and how I can fix it?

Hi Johny_K,
If you are having issues with your iPod Classic freezing, you may want to try the steps in the following Troubleshooting Assistant:

If you are receiving an error message when trying to restore, you may find the following article helpful:

• How do I supress the "sync encountered an error while syncing" bar? I get it every time I connect to a work VPN that is isolated from the internet.

Background: For work I routinely need to connect to a secure VPN that is completely isolated from the internet. When using it, I can only connect to the servers that reside within the network and the VPN software (Cisco AnyConnect + NAC Agent) seems to automatically redirect all http requests to external sites to a catch-all 'sorry you can't do that' page.
So while connected to the VPN, Firefox Sync doesn't work and nor do I expect it to. However, my issue is that every time I connect to the VPN, Firefox silently pops up a "sync encountered an error while syncing" error message bar at the bottom of the browser, which I have to manually close. This obviously isn't the end of the world, but having to do it all the time gets annoying so I was wondering if there was a way of suppressing that particular error message or maybe getting Sync to handle the secure VPN more gracefully.

I don't know about blocking that message, but my suggestion is to turn Sync autoconnect off, and use Sync manually.
Type '''about:config''' in the URL bar and hit Enter.
Then type '''''autoconnect''''' in the Search bar at the top.
'''services.sync.autoconnect''' = double-click that pref to toggle it to '''false'''.
Then to trigger a Sync manually, hit '''Sync Now''' in the Firefox menu ''(or the File menu)''.

• Every time I connect my IPhone 5s to the computer it comes up as a new phone, even know I have synced it to the computer before

Every time I connect my IPhone 5s to the computer it comes up as a new phone ,even know I have synced it to the computer before and it worked fine

I would try 2 things. First, I would de-authorise the computer, then authorise it again. If that doesn't work, then second, you could try uninstalling iTunes and then reinstalling.

• Why does my iphone sync all 5000 songs on my phone every time I connect it?

Every time I try to add songs to my iphone 4s, it has to resync all 5000 songs that are currently stored on the phone, rather than just the one or two new additions. If I disconnect the phone before it is done all the music it hasn't gotten to will not play. I am running ios7 and the current version of itunes 11. Thanks!

Hi louiepatterson,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your entire iTunes library is syncing every time you connect your iPhone, you may want to try setting up syncing in iTunes again by following the steps in the appropriate article below. If you're syncing music, try un-checking and then re-checking the "Sync music" checkbox in iTunes.
iTunes 11 for Mac: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12113
iTunes 11 for Windows: Set up syncing for iPod, iPhone, or iPad
http://support.apple.com/kb/PH12313
Your entire library will sync again once more after this, but then only new songs should sync thereafter. If the issue persists, I'd try the troubleshooting steps in our iPhone assistant next:

Maybe you should get new friends.
I'm not sure that recovery mode works when you have to trust the computer, but did you try it?
If you can't update or restore your iOS device - Apple Support
If that won't work, perhaps you can use Find my iPhone from a computer in your iCloud.com account to erase the device.
iCloud: Erase your device - Apple Support
This has nothing to do with the Find my iPhone app being installed on the phone, but you do have to have Find my iPhone activated in the iCloud settings on the phone.

• TS3212 Every time I connect my iPhone 4 to my computer to sync, iTunes stops responding. I have removed and redownloaded iTunes and the problem continues.

Every time I connect my iPhone 4 to my computer to sync, iTunes stops responding. I need to shut it down and restsrt to access iTunes. I have removed and redownloaded iTunes and the problem continues.

Try disconnect your computer from the internet and see if you can open iTunes and connect your device without crash.
if iTunes does open without crash, go to iTunes Menu Edit > Preferences, "Advanced" tab and click the "Reset Cache" button, OK.
Close your iTunes.
Now, use Windows Explorer to delete the contents of Music\iTunes\iTunes Media\Download
You may now re-connect your internet then see if you can open iTunes and connect your device without issues.

• Repeatedly syncing the same tunes every time I connect

Every time I connect my iPhone 3G the same 185 tunes are synced. They appear to have been deleted from the iPhone, so have to be synced back again. Its starting to get really annoying!!
Has anyone else had similar problems, or know of a solution?
CWGB

I'm experiencing the same sort of thing, except only 21 songs keep re-syncing. It happens whether or not I've even touched my iTunes library.
It looks like we're not the only ones:

• Mac app store download restarts every time connection drops

For the past 2 weeks I have been trying to download a game from the Mac App Store. The game file is around 20gig, so it takes quite a bit of time to download.
My issue is: Every time my connection drops or my Macbook goes to sleep, the download has to start again.
For example, today it was 50% (10gig) done, then all of a sudden, it said an error occurred but when I clicked to resume the download, it started from scratch. So I lost about 6 hours of downloading time.
Can anyone help me with this issue?
Thanks in advance.

Hi ..
Check your download speeds here > Speedtest.net - The Global Broadband Speed Test
If your download speed is less than 10Mbps, the file may be timing out before it can finish downloading.
Make sure your Mac has sufficient storage space. Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click About This Mac > More Info > Storage. Make sure there's at least 15% free disk space.
Apps such as Little Snitch, Growl, MacKeeper, and anti virus software can prevent apps from downloading
Disable anti virus software if installed
Check the firewall in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options
Make sure Gatekeeper is enabled
Open System Preferences > Security & Privacy then select the General tab.
Make sure either Mac App Store or Mac App Store and identified developers is selected.
If that area is grayed out, click the padlock icon to proceed.
OS X: About Gatekeeper
