Sync Salesforce CRM with Mavericks

I am having a problem getting Salesforce to Sync with my Mac Book Pro.  I even purchased OneSync and it is still not working.

  • Syncing Problems Abound With Maverick and iOS7!

I used to sync new music within seconds, now I'm stuck again and again at "waiting for changes to be applied" for just a few new songs to be added.  Not only did I encounter this mindless wait for changes to be applied today, but when I went to sync 8 new songs in a new playlist today, it starts resyncing over 4000 of my 5000 songs! I had to wait through all that for just 8 new songs. It took over 45 minutes before being done! FOR 8 SONGS! I am so frustrated! I shouldn't have to jump through hoops and read countless threads on how to fix this. It should just simply work!

After much ado, I just tried to be patient for half an hour.  Thunderbird finally got itself sorted and it works fine. You may want to undo the spotlight search and see if that helps.

I might suggest you send links to download the attachments via DropBox or other similar source rather than include in an email.

Have you looked at adding the attachements at the end of the message. Under Edit in the Mail Menu bar select Attachments.
Attachment Tamer might be worth a look but attachements are always going to be in the body part of the message.

  • With Mavericks how does one sync calendars without wifi?

With Mavericks, how does one sync calendars and contacts with iPads/iPods without wifi?

Syncing with a cable via iTunes has been removed in Mavericks: you are expected to use iCloud or possibly another cloud-based service, which obviously requires you to have access to the internet - requiring wi-fi for the iOS devices. If you have a wired internet connection on the Mac it may be possible to set up internet sharing, where the Mac becomes in effect a wifi station to which devices can connect. I assume this facility is still available in Mavericks - you should ask in the Mavericks forum how to set this up.

  • No calander or contact sync with mavericks

Whats up with sync..... I really need it to work!!!!!

The general advice on the web is that with Mavericks you need to sync using iCloud. I did this, but things still aren't syncing. It's a serious problem. I think I'll try talking to the Apple store people.

Do not want to use cloud.

  • UCCX 10.5 integration with SalesForce CRM

    Hi,
I need some help on integrating UCCX 10.5 with salesforce crm (Cloud hosted).
The requirement is when call comes in on Agent desktop the call related information on basis of phone number should pop up on agent desktop from CRM.
Do we need any API for this integration or we can achieve this with the help of macros/events available on Agent Desktop (CAD/finesse)
    Regards,
    Dinesh Joshi

Effectively the answer is no, partially because of how SFDC works and partially because the keyboard macro you reference will soon be lost with the transition from CAD to Finesse.
In the case of SFDC, the HTTP workflow isn't possible without some help. The workflow only allows us to send a URL, such as https://salesforce.example/page?account=<enterpriseData> where <enterpriseData> is some value we collected during IVR treatment such as an account number. In reality, SFDC doesn't construct URLs in that way and use GUIDs in the URL. For the HTTP workflow to work something needs to figure out what the URL/GUID is for a particular record you want to pop. This can either happen within the IVR script via an off-box web service to interface with the SFDC API or a custom Java class. Either way, what it does is get the full URL for what should be popped send that through to the agent desktop for the HTTP workflow action to pop.
The server-side integration has the advantage of being able to either validate data against SFDC and/or impact the call routing/options. An example would be checking account number input from a caller for validity, having an active service contract, and seeing if they are a Top 50 customer for priority treatment. If you don't need server-side intelligence then you can leverage a 3rd-party Finesse-based product, such as the Bucher+Suter product (others may be available in the Cisco Marketplace), to do the integration.
As for the keyboard macro: this is fairly unreliable, especially with web browsers, and was targeted for older terminal emulation-type apps. Regardless, it will soon not be available due to the transition from CAD to Finesse which is only capable of HTTP workflows, and not keyboard macros, IPC calls, external application action, etc.

  • Mavericks will not sync Apple Contacts with Google, Linkedin, and Facebook?

I just upgraded to Mavericks. Here is what I find shocking...
    1. Mavericks will NOT sync Apple Contacts with Google Contacts and vice-versa.
    2. During the upgrade, Mavericks linked some of my Apple Contact cards with Google Contacts, but not all of them. It need to be clarified that linking is not syncing. Worse, it corrupted data, and deleted some of the contacts on Google Contacts.
    3. Similarly, Apple Contacts will not sync with Linkedin or Facebook Contacts.
    4. When I contacted Apple, Level 1 support had not idea and assumed that adding a Google Account with automatically sync Apple Contacts with Google Contacts as it did in OS Mountain Lion. Level 2 support did not have much of an idea either, but called me this morning to say that the matter has been escalated, and confirmed that OS X Maverick does NOT sync Apple Contacts with Google Contacts.
    CAUTION before upgrading to Mavericks:
    5. Your Google Contacts / Android devices will not be updated by Apple Contacts, and vice-versa.
    6. Your Facebook / Linkedin contats will not be updated by Apple Contacts, and vice-versa.
    The workaround:
    7. Before upgrade, ensure that your Mountain Lion or earlier address book in synced with Google Contacts.
    8. After upgrade, go to Contacts > Preferences > General > Default Account, and choose your Google Account as your default account. You will now add New Contact (or update existing Google Contacts) in Google Contacts, which your android devices can sync with. You will also see your Google Contacts in Apple Contacts. However, Apple Contacts will NOT sync with Google Contacts and vice-versa.
    Welcome to Mavericks...

With all due respect @McFly_Marty, kindly do not mislead readers. As funny as it may sound, but you have been taken for a royal ride by Apple Support. Keep in mind that the tough taskmaster Steve Jobs, is no longer there, and it is no surprise that Apple’s innovations are sliding.
You probably have chosen Google as your default account under "Contacts > Preferences > General > Default Account”.
Now, when you add New Contact (or update existing Google Contacts) in Google Contacts, you will also see your Google Contacts in Apple Contacts. However, Apple Contacts will NOT sync with Google Contacts and vice-versa.
Try disabling your Google account in Apple Contacts, and all your new contacts are no longer in Apple contacts. Therefore Apple contacts is not syncing with Google Contacts.
Therefore, read the following from my original post again.
“1. Mavericks will NOT sync Apple Contacts with Google Contacts and vice-versa.

When I connect my iPod Touch to a new laptop (Macbook Air) the "Info" tab won't appear and therefore I cannot sync it with my new iTunes. How can I sync this iPod with the iTunes on my new laptop?

There is no Info tab in Mavericks
if you use OS X v.10.8.5 or earlier. If you use OS X Mavericks v.10.9 or later, your contacts, calendars, and other info are updated on your computers and iOS devices via iCloud. For more information, see iCloud Help at icloud.com.

  • Sync Services eliminated from Mavericks - can no longer sync contacts

I clearly made a big error updating to Mavericks. I only discovered after the installation that Mavericks no longer supports Sync Services, which was critical to my ability to sync my personal contacts and calendars to all of my devices. In the absence of restoring my computer back to Mountain Lion, I am wondering whether there is anything I can do, but I fear the incompatibilities are too great to surmount.
My work email, contacts, and calendar are on a 2003 Microsoft Exchange server, and I have no power to change that. That apparently means that the only Mac email client I can use to sync my work contacts and calendar is Microsoft Entourage 2008. (The email is less of a problem, as I believe I could access it through IMAP.) I had also been using Entourage for many years for my personal email, contacts, and calendar, so it has been nice having everything centralized in one program. To sync my personal contacts and calendar, I was using Sync Services to sync everything first with Apple's Address Book and iCal/Calendar, and then those were synced with my online Google account to serve the rest of my devices.
I had everything set up, as described above, to conveniently sync everything in all directions. Then came Mavericks and the unexpected loss of Sync Services. Now, Entourage 2008 is completely isolated from the outside world with regard to contacts and calendar events, and I believe the same would be true of the newer Outlook 2011. (I never even bothered to upgrade to Outlook 2011, because it apparently is not compatible with 2003 Exchange Server, so it would not have functioned with my work contacts and calendar.) Apple Mail is also apparently not compatible with 2003 Exchange Server. I tried DAVMail to serve as an intermediary to no avail.
Then, I thought, well, perhaps I could continue to use Entourage 2008 for work email, contacts, and calendar, and switch to Apple Mail, Address Book, and Calendar for my personal email, contacts, and calendar. That is not particularly convenient, but perhaps it would not be too bad. However, I cannot figure out how to transfer my hundreds of calendar events from Entourage 2008 to Apple Calendar. There is an "Import from Entourage" function in the Calendar program, but nothing ever gets imported. It will launch Entourage, if Entourage is not already running, and it will crash Entourage sometimes, but nothing ever gets imported.
I can also export my calendar events from Entourage in RGE format (some sort of archive format), and I could probably also get them into Outlook 2011 and then export them in OLM format. However, Calendar cannot handle either of those either. I am also not particularly impressed with the functionality of Calendar relative to Entourage/Outlook's calendar system.
So, now I am wondering whether my best option is to restore my computer to Mountain Lion and hope that my work will eventually change to a 2007 or newer version of Exchange Server. It seems that there are a lot more syncing options on the Windows side of things, as well, so I am thinking my next computer is going to be Windows, and I am due for a new one soon.

I restored to 10.8.5 using Time Machine. However, Time Machine immediately seemed to get confused and tried backing up my entire entire hard drive, even though I had just restored it and nothing had changed. This process went on for like six hours, and I was afraid to interrupt it. In the end, it failed, because the backup drive was too full. But it kept trying unsuccessfully to backup the whole thing, and I could not figure out a way to make it stop! Eventually, I had to reformat the backup drive and start over with a new backup, which took another eight hours.
I am going to buy a new computer in the next few months, because my current Mac is over five years old, but I will likely switch to Windows after 20 years of using a Mac at home. It saddens me a bit, and I know that my sync problem with Entourage/Outlook is probably mostly the fault of Microsoft. However, I must have compatibility with my system at work, and the simple fact is that is not possible on the Mac without jumping through hoops.
In addition, Apple presented Mavericks as a free upgrade in the App Store and promoted all of its alleged new features, but they did not list the things that had been removed (including the Sync Services functionality on which I depended). Given the widespread usage of Office for Mac, I would think it might have been good for them to reveal that broken functionality more prominently. Then, of course, there was the fiasco of trying to restore things back with Time Machine.
    Sigh....

  • Can no longer sync my BB with my Outlook email..?

I have already called my cell service provider which was of no help except to ask me to update my software (which I did), reboot (which I did), but still cannot syn the two together..This all since I had my power cut in my house about a week ago..Can anyone suggest how I can correct this GIANT problem?
    Thank you,
    Freebird Montreal

    1. Apple has removed sync services in OS X Mavericks. Therefore, you cannot sync Outlook 2011 with Contacts or Calendar.
    2. Apple has removed the ability to sync through iTunes in OS X Mavericks, so that, even if you use Contacts and Calendar on the Mac, you can only sync them with your iPhone through iCloud, thus exposing all your contacts and calendar information to the mercies of the Web.
    3. Microsoft does not not support CalDAV and CardDAV in Outlook, so there is no way to sync directly through iCloud, except perhaps by setting up a Microsoft Exchange account.
    4. Apple makes it extremely difficult (virtually impossible) to revert to a version of OSX that is earlier than OS X Mavericks once Mavericks is installed.
In short, we are screwed and neither company seems to care.
