Sync songs & videos on two computers?

All of my iTunes songs are currently on my desktop computer (Windows XP). I'd like to be able to play them on my laptop computer (Windows Vista) also. Is there a way to sync the songs on the two computers? I'd like to avoid having to burn a lot of CDs if at all possible - I have a lot of songs! I'd like to be able to view my videos on my laptop also...

Yes, the way Sync works is that it puts all the Bookmarks together and pushes them to all your devices. Same with History.
You will not loose any information in any of your computers.

Syncing iPhone music with Two computers is not happening

I had the iPod touch and sold it in anticipation of the iPhone. On the iTouch you could sync it perfectly with two machines even three or four.
My beef is that the music libraries can't be read or added to from more than one computer. I work in a recording studio and am always adding songs from different computers and this feature is crucial. What I always loved doing was plugging in my phone to my home computer and listening to my days work through its speakers. This is very frustrating as every time i want to add a song from home i have to erase all my songs on the iPhone. PLEASE CHANGE IT BACK!
Does anyone know a work around for this?

I'm having this problem with purchased ringtones. Unaware of the fact that you can only sync iPhone from only one computer, I purchased several ringtones on another of our authorized computers (same account) while I was literally in another state. When I tried to add them to my iPhone, I got the message telling me my existing iPhone ringtones would be deleted/replaced if I proceeded, so I didn't. Now I have purchased ringtones sitting on a computer that can't be used on the only iPhone I own. This seems an irrational policy.
Since there is only one purpose for ringtones, you should be able to 'add' them to your iPhone when purchased on any of your authorized computers - you have paid for them after all. Is there a way to export them from one authorized computer to another (the one you normally use to sync your iPhone)?

Can I Sync My iPod on Two Computers?

I have two computers (Windows) with my account. My main one has a USB issue, so I upgraded to iOS5 on the other. Is there still a way to wirelessly sync to my main computer? My iPod is looking for the secondary computer and thus is not seeing my main one. Thanks!

Is there at least a way to change which computer it syncs with without a USB cable. I figured with iOS 5 and iCloud I could sync to my laptop wirelessly, but I guess it doesn't work if the music I have isn't from iTunes. (Most of mine is, so that's good, but not all.)

Syncing iPhoto library on two computers

My wife wants to have access to her VERY LARGE iPhoto '08 library on two computers - the desktop (her preferred) and the laptop (when the boys are doing homework on the desktop).
Rather than try to share the same library (i.e., networked drive), I set up the two to sync the library. Using +Folders Synchronizer 3.6.2+ (which is able to read and sync the package contents), I have the two libraries syncing so there is a duplicate of her library on both computers (also provides a bit of a backup).
The sync seems to be working well - EXCEPT the changes are not showing up in the iPhoto viewer. In other words...
...she added pictures to iPhoto on the desktop and then synced the laptop.
...Looking inside the iPhoto library (show package contents...) on the laptop and the new pictures were copied to the laptop.
...HOWEVER, when she opens iPhoto on the laptop they don't show up in the window.
I'm sure I'm missing something brainless. I thought it might be that the library needed to be updated but can't figure out how?

If you have an external HD connected to the Mac then it's a very easy thing to do. See Apple's KB document on iPhoto: Sharing libraries among multiple users. Trying to get a library in the Shared folder to accept two different users is difficult. There is a site describing how to do that using Access Control Lists in Tiger: Share an iPhoto Library in Tiger Using ACL's. It may not work if you upgrade to Leopard at a later date. By far the easiest way is the external HD method.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 08 libraries and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Syncing Contacts/Calendars with two computers?

I'm using my iPod touch more as a PDA than iPod and want to be able to sync my Contacts and Calendars with both my home Mac and work Mac. Right now I have it sort of working; at home I have it set to sync everything (Music, Movies, Photos, Info, etc.). On my work computer I have it just set to sync "Info".
The problem is that every time I plug it into the "other" computer, the Sync checkboxes for Contacts and Calendars are turned off. So I have to click them 'on' and hit "Merge" to merge the data.
That isn't a show-stopper, because it does work, but I'm wondering if there's a way to make those settings 'sticky' so I don't have to keep reselecting Sync. It's just more of a nuisance than anything...

If you originally chose to replace the contacts on the iPhone with contacts from the computer, the contacts will not be merged on the following syncs. You can reset the sync history on the computer before syncing, and then choose merge. This would make the contacts and calendars look the same on both devices.
If you want to have the same information on all three devices(or more), it would be better to setup an Exchange or MobileMe account.

Syncing a project between two computers

I just got a new MacBook which I use when I travel every week. I have a project that I started at home on my 24" iMac. When I'm at home I would like to continue using the iMac because of the big screen. However I would still like to work on the project when I have time on the road.
So the question is "Is is possible to copy / sync a whole project with clips between two computers and be able to go back and forth between the computers?" I realize I might have to copy the whole file.
Better yet is there a way to keep the project on an external drive and use iMovie on each computer to open up and work on the project.

Yes this is possible.
First, make sure your external drive is formatted as MacOS (journalled) or HFS+ (journalled)
Go into iMovie and from the Project list, drag your project to the External Drive by dragging the project name to the icon for the external drive in the project list in iMovie.
Now select File/Consolidate Media and choose Move (not copy). Everything will be consolidated to the external drive where the project is. You can open it on another Mac.

You can't. You can only sync with one library at a time. I is possible, though not recommended, to sync contacts with one computer and media with another. There is no way to sync contacts with more than one computer.
The best idea would be to sync it with your MacBook and the cloud, and sync Outlook on the PC with the cloud.
Since iCloud requires Windows 7, you would probably be best to sync contacts and calendars with Google or Yahoo.

Syncing play counts between two computers

Is it possible to sync play counts (and other settings such as favorites, playlists, backups, etc) between two computers?
I purchased a new computer for school, but I am interested in continuing to use my old one as well. The old one is where my info is accumulated of course, but I would like to add my counts, playlists, ratings etc. from my old computer onto the new one, and hopefully sync them between each other as well.
As unnecessary as this sounds, I am wondering if it is possible and how it can be achieved. Any help and/or suggestions would be appreciated.

iOS devices sync to one computer.
It is not possible (at least not easily) to sync to multiple computers.
What you can do is copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the existing computer to the new computer. Then everything in iTunes on the new computer will be exactly as it was on the old computer.
There is no syncing, at least not within iTunes.
Other programs do exists that will allow you to sync specific folders between multiple computers.

Syncing my Centro on two computers

I am trying to hotsync my centro on two different computers. I have desktop ver 6.22 and hotsync manager 7.0.2 installed on both computers. When I sync on my "main" computer all is well. This is the computer I first sync'd my centro on. When I try to sync on my second computer the syn just hangs up on "Completed task 2 of 12..." Now I tried setting the conduits according to the instructions on the palm website but when I right click on the hotsync tray icon I get nothing like the menu shown in the example. What am I doing wrong?

I have a Treo 680 and sync to three different computers (two desktops and a laptop). They sync fine but I have discovered that I tend to loss appointments because the people using these computers add some their own appoints which conflicts with the handheld. So you have to check VERY closely to make sure everything is correct before you think the job is done. I'm using desktop version 4.2 running on Windows XP Service Pack 3.

Sometimes the album artwork, even if it was supplied from the iTunes store, corrupts the file. Just right click the song or video in your library, click "Get Info," and then click the "Artwork" tab. Click on the artwork and delete it, then try sync it to your iPod. It never fails for me.

Good lord, Man! That's the long way around the block.
Highlight all the songs in the album. Right-click and select GET INFO.
Click on the album art in your web browser and drag it to the little box for Album Art in the Get Info dialog.
On rare occations I find Drag and Drop doesn't want to work - right click on the image in your web browser and select COPY - the PASTE in to the box in the GET INFO dialog.

Sync up BB to two computers

I know I can sync up my 8120 with the contacts and calendar on two different computers running Outlook, I do it all the time. I have it set up so that the BB "wins" in the event of a discrepancy, so you would think the contacts and calendar would be identical on both computers. They aren't. And I have duplicates cropping up.
Any ideas on what I might be doing wrong ?

JSANDERS had the right idea, just the wrong two.
We think your calendar/addressbook database in the BB is corrupt.
If you have one Outlook calendar that is correct/or the best copy:
1) Follow Jsanders procedure to clear the calendar /addressbook on the BB.
2) Sync one way from the correct Outlook to the device.
3) The device has the correct calendar/addressbook.
4) Sync one way from BB to the second copy of Outlook.
5) All calendars/addressbooks are in sync.
