Sync to Google Contacts not showing in my Address Book

Please Help! I wanted to start Google Contacts sync in my address book, but the function is no longer available! I am running OS X Leopard 10.5.7 and the checklist option under preferences disappeared! Is anyone else experiencing this?

I'm having the same issue! Have you discovered any solution? I just did a fresh reformat and could not for the life of me get my contacts to sync with my MobileMe account. I kept getting an error saying that the data was corrupt. So, I decided to try syncing with google but the option was no longer there.

  • Moto SLVR contacts not showing up in address book

    Hi All,
I have set up my Verison SLVR as a bluetooth device and it shows up in isync and shows that it is syncing but the contacts do not show up in my address book. It looks like some of my address book contacts did make it over to my SLVR though.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks!

By default the SLVR entries are placed into SIM. iSync is designed to work only with the Phone memory and not SIM memory.

  • Contacts added are not showing up on address book.

I created new contact entries using certain apps, such as SimplyTweet, which did not appear on my Address Book. However, doing a spotlight search on my phone shows those entries exist, but cannot be edited. Anybody else having a similar issue?

    Hello everyone!
For all of you out there who have received phone calls, text messages, etc, and have tried adding a contact by means other than directly via the contacts app only to have your contact not show up ANYWHERE (except maybe in a spotlight search), this quick troubleshooting guide is for you.
Disclaimers: This can be performed on an Apple computer, I do not troubleshoot for PC's (however, anyone who knows their way around computers can easily modify the steps for a PC). This method can also be used if you sync your contacts via MobileMe like I do, and should work for the iPhone 3G, 3GS, and 4. I have the latest OS on my iPhone, but it should work with any recent OS. My iTunes has been updated to the most recent version.
Step 1: Open Address Book on your mac. Make sure your address book view is extended to show your groups in the left column. Under groups, everyone will have a group labeled "All Contacts". If that's the only group you have, it's time to create another one. Click the "+" at the bottom of your group column and name your new group whatever you want. For my purposes (as this was an iPhone issue), I named my new group "iPhone Contacts". Do not add any contacts from "All Contacts" to your new group, as this will be unnecessarily redundant. Close Address Book, you're done with it.
Step 2: Open iTunes and plug in your iPhone. Hopefully you have your settings to manually sync when you plug your iPhone into iTunes, otherwise wait until it's synced to continue. Click the "Info" tab in iTunes. The first option is Sync Address Book Contacts. Make sure this option is checked. Under the first subheading, make sure "All contacts" is checked. Below the groups box, there will be a line that says "Add contacts created outside of groups on this iPhone to:" and make sure this is checked as well. (Bonus info- Unless you created a contact directly via the contacts app on your iPhone, that contact ends up in another list. This is why you can't see it right now.) At this moment is where that new contact group you created in Address Book comes into play. Use the drop-down menu to the right of this option to select that group (remember mine was "iPhone Contacts"). Do not change anything else. Now click "Sync" in the bottom right corner of iTunes.
Step 3: Once your iPhone is synced, open the Contacts app on your iPhone. If it opens to a contact list, tap the "Groups" button in the upper left corner of the screen. You should see two or three sections. The top section will simply be "All Contacts". The second section will be titled "From My Mac" and will display both "All from My Mac" and the new group you created in Address Book. If you use MobileMe, you will have a third section titled "[email protected]", under which your MobileMe contact group will fall. Make sure you tap the top group, "All Contacts". You will find those "missing" contacts now listed among all your other ones.
Bonus: If you find you have duplicate contact names but neither contact has a full information card, you can edit the contact, scroll to the bottom and tap the "Link contacts" button, then link your duplicates to insure you have all the info you want.
Success!! If you have any questions, let me know.

Am I doing something wrong? anyone help please

  • Not all Exchange contacts are showing up in Address Book

My exchange sync resulted in about 100 missing contacts in address book. Both outlook and iphone display the correct number of contacts...anyone else seeing this and know how to fix?

Oddly enough, my distribution lists are working, although they are invisible and thus uneditable... is this something we can anticipate a fix for any time soon?

  • 8310 birthday field not showing up in address book

    Hi All!
Just upgraded to Desktop Manager 4.5 and was happy to see that under advanced synch you can match birthday and anniversary to your BB device and Microsoft Outlook.
Well, it shows on the advanced page but even with the arrows shown to tell it to synch they still are not showing up in my BB address book.
Am I missing a step somewhere?
    Thanks

Guys - same exact issue, here.  Transferred data over from 8330 to 8310 and birthday and anniversary fields went missing from contacts.  The appointments still show up in the calendar, but this isn't as helpful, because I can't tell anymore what number birthday or anniversary it is; also, it makes adding a new one more difficult.
I checked and the fields are still there in Outlook, so that's not my problem.
Looks like you guys never got an answer....or did you?   Help.  Thanks.

  • Itunes sync erased ALL contacts from my phone and address book empty

So I must have chose something wrong when I ran a sync and it erased my address book from my iPhone.
What do I need to check or change before my next sync to make SURE all my address I re-entered on my iPhone are synced with address book on mac instead of mac overwriting my phone and wiping them all out again?
    Thanks in advance!!!
    Patrick

I am VERY dissappointed that the alleged 'smart' operation of iTunes sync would so nonchalantly and impulsively erase ALL the contacts on my iPhone.  Can't it at least WARN YOU... "Hey, I'm doing something that most likely 99.9% of people doing this don't want to do, but, screw you, I'm going to do it all the same" -- bye bye contacts.

  • Contacts not synching from Apple Address Book to iPhone

I updated to iTunes 10.6.3 on MacOS 10.8.1 and my Contacts no longer synch.
In fact, on the iTunes Info page, the groups don't even display when Synch Contacts and All Contacts are both selected.
The iPhone has iOS 5.1.1, which is current.
I checked Software Update. Then I synched with the advanced option to overwrite Contacts on the iPhone with the Apple Address Book on my iMac. No luck.
Then I searched online and didn't find anything on point, so I came here to share this issue in the hopes that you have some inights and ideas to fix this problem.
    Any suggestions?
BTW, this clears Contacts on the iPhone.
    Thanks in advance!

Oops -- I just had to turn iCloud on in the System settings on the iPhone, then the Contacts synched.

    Hi azuldelf,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
In addition to using iCloud, you can sync your iPhone to your Mac using iTunes.
See this article for more information about how to sync your contacts:

    View > Show Sidebar
Then it should work just the same as on your old computer.

  • Why are my contacts on ipad not syncing with google contacts?

I am new to apple.  I cannot populate the Contacts
app on my iPad2.  I see no options to sync with google contacts.  Please advise.  Thanks!

Thanks Meg, this works, at least in part.  Now the Contacts app populated, but only with 99 contacts, hardly all of them.  Do you know how to get all my Google contacts to sync?
Also, should I delete the Gmail account I had previously set up on the iPad now that I have set up as an Exchange account?

  • Address Book Sync with Google Contacts across computers (instead of iCloud with Lion)?

I am trying to get ready for the port to iCloud and i am going to do this while still on Snow Leopard per Roger Wilmut's fantastic documentation. It appear to me I will simply lose Bookmark Sync (until I move to Mountail Lion) which is a small(ish) price to pay to not have to deal with an upgrade at the moment.
The question I am hoping to answer is if it will be possible to SYNC MY CONTACTS across my devices (MacBookPro, MacPro and iPhone) using the Sync with Google Contacts Option in Address Book Preferences.
Does anyone know if checking this option will put these contacts on both of my Machines and on my iPhone?
ALSO, does anyone know if it is possible to put the ADDRESS BOOK CONTACTS in one folder and the GOOGLE CONTACTS in another folder so they don't all get mixed up together?
    TIA

I can't even get manual Google syncing to work with iCloud enabled. Without iCloud, everything works fine.
