Sync to .mac does not include iCal
My address book synced to .mac but not iCal.
Sorry that does not work, i am using 10.3. and dont have that option in system preferences/.mac.....I am thinking i have to upgrade to 10.4, that is the problem. thanks for responding anyway.

How come my mac does not sync with my iOS device.... When I send messages from my messages app on my mac it shows on my iPhone aswel... When someone trying to facetime me it will ring both my facetime on my mac and iPhone... Since this morning after the iCloud ****** up... My devices aren't syncing... Need help...I believe this was stopped in a recent iTunes update to "force" users to sync the calendar on the Mac and the iDevice to iCloud.

Im trying to Sync a Nokia Phone, so I'll need the iSync App in my MAC. In every page I have read, the assumption is tath the MAC OS already has the iSync but my MAC does not have it. How can I get it? Or what do I do in this case???

You haven't actually asked a question, but as stated you should only download Flash Player directy from Adobe.
Nor have you said what version of OS X and Safari you are running.

Note that version 10,1,102,64 is the last version available to PPC Mac users*. The latest version,10.3 or later, is for Intel Macs only, as Adobe no longer support the PPC platform. Version 11.0.1.152 is for Lion.

You should first uninstall any previous version of Flash Player, using the uninstaller from here (make sure you use the correct one!):

Export to RTF does not include images???
Hi,
I ve written a script which converts a batch of indesign files to RTF files...I m using this script in a plugin in InDesign CS3 on MAC OS.
I ve used this:
exportFile(ExportFormat.rtf, f );
But the converted .rtf files does not include the images present in the .indd files...
what modification should be done to include images? is it possible?

Thanks.No, that's not possible. The best you can do is to replace the images with their file names, then import those images in the application that you send the RTF files to.

I-Mac does not startup anymore since a power failure.
My I-Mac does not start up anymore since there was a general power failure in house.
After power came back I disconnected the power cord for 1 hour and thereafter tried again.
No results.
What can I do now ?
Thanks for help.One thing to remember, after the computer has been unplugged for a while and then you plug it in, WAIT for maybe 10 or more seconds before you try to start. I have had a few ocassions where going directly from plug in to power button would not bring the computer up.
Just for info, what happens when you HOLD the "Apple" key also called Command Key before powering up and continuing to hold it for maybe 30 seconds? That should bring up a list of all available boot sources. That would include a Recovery Partition which would then allow you to do a permissions repair (via disk utility) and Verify disk.
You could also hold the "T" key while booting up until a "Y" Firewire symbol appears on the screen. That would convert your computer into an external Firewire drive which could be plugged in via a Firewire cable, to another MAC and let you retrieve files from your computer's hard drive.
Both of these options are based on the power supply and logic board still working. If you do not get those indications, then a trip to the repair center is probably in order. -

I use different languages in my daily activities, when typing other than English Mac does not recognize them, is there anyway can Mac stop suggesting or automatically correcting me?
Is this a problem with the computer or with the word processor? MS Word for example seems to think its grammar and spelling are better than mine - they are not. You have to go into MS Word preferences and uncheck all the useless "help" it wants to provide.

Go to the website of the manufacturer of your printer and check to see if they have released an updated driver for your particular model.

want to use icloud on my macbook and cant because I am using OSX10.6.8 - I want to upgrade this but I cant upgrade to mountain lion as my mac does not support this - cannot find a way to go to Version 10.7.4 which i understand supports icloud - help to do this please
If you purchased Lion for your iMac, just log into the Mac App Store from your MacBook using the Apple ID under which you purchased Lion and go to the Purchases page. You will be able to download and install Lion there.

The only place you get get Lion is from the Mac App Store. If you found some other site, that was an illegal copy and almost certainly tied to someone else's Apple ID and hence unusable by you. If the link was just to the Mac App Store, see above.
As to the problem with synchronization to iCloud, that's not a 10.6 question, so I'd suggest you take up that specific issue in either the Lion or iCloud forums, providing full details, and someone there can probably help you sort things out.

Mac does not list all folders in a SMB share
Hi guys, this is a bit of a weird one and I've tried everything I can think of.
In our house we have a media centre running Windows 7. It has several shares, one of which we'll call folder "X". Folder X opens correctly on the media centre, and any other Windows machine perfectly. Almost every other machine in the house is running OS X 10.6, and one of my housemates today noted that some of the folders inside of folder X were not listed on a Mac. So far we've tested it on 2 Macs and 2 Windows machines, and everytime the Windows machine lists all folders inside of X, where the Mac does not. The weird thing is, it's cutting them out alphabetically, so it's basically from D through to I that are missing, all in all there are 30 (out of 160) folders missing inside of Folder X...here's what I've tried.
On the Windows 7 machine:
-Restarted server service
-Removed Share X and re-added
-Checked share permissions on folder X
-Checked permissions on folder X, propagated to all child folders just in case.
-Restarted machine after every change.
On the Macs we haven't really tried much as there's not much we can think to change. We've tried Finder, Path Finder (which I'm guessing will be exactly the same), restarting, removing from workgroup and re-adding...I can't think what would cause such a weird problem.
To make things harder we don't know exactly when it started happening but the OSX machines definitely used to list the folders and it happens on more than one mac. which I guess makes me think it's something on the Windows client. The 30 folders are not using any nonstandard characters, some are only a few letters long.
Ideas on a postcard!?Reporting the same problem.
1. Have Windows 7 MediaCenter with file sharing set up properly (LM+NTLM Authentication allowed and 128-bit encryption disabled in security policies).
2. Test folder ("C:\income") and all the subfolders' owner is 'Guest', full access is granted for everyone.
3. Connecting to MediaCenter from MacBook with Finder by pressing Cmd+K and typing smb://ip-addr/income
4. Finder connects successfully, but some sub-folders and files are not being listed.
Workaround:
5. You can open a not-listed folder directly by pressing Cmd+K and typing smb://ip-addr/income/some-invisible-folder
6. Voila! You're inside invisible folder.
In the meantime, i can see all the sub-folders on a Windows XP client machine, so i can make a conclusion that all of these 'invisible' sub-folders are actually accessible by Finder, but in some reason are just not being listed on Mac.
