Sync trouble

Hello, the BlackBerry Desktop Manager Software does not recognize that the tablet is plugged into my laptop, although the tablet does, but it cannot charge from the connection however. I obviously cannot sync anything until the connection is made. BTW, this used to work just fine in March of 2013. Help, please!

1. You posted in the Welcome and Introductions section. We'll get it moved the 9630 section.
2. Use Desktop Manager to sync your contacts, calendar, memos, and tasks with Outlook. You canNOT sync email on a personal BIS account. Sorry -- not possible.
I would recommend Desktop Manager, version 5, withOUT the Media Manager. Download Desktop Manager from here:
https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/entry.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22
3. If you have been removed from the previous BES server, you will also want to remove any lingering IT Policy on your device which might hamper functions of the device.
See the RIM Knowledge Base article here for information on how to remove an IT Policy. See the Method Three in the link:
KB14202 How to remove an IT policy from a BlackBerry smartphone
4. And, you will need THE BlackBerry Data Plan on your device to get email. Call your carrier.

  • Computer crashed, lost all itunes but they are still on IPOD- sync trouble

My computer crashed and I lost everything including my itunes library- luckily all my music is on my ipod. I found the latest itunes and installed it and then found I had to register the computer for itunes which I did. There is an option to tranfer purchases (which I assume means transfer them from my ipod to my computer) but every time I try this the whole thing freezes. Also the computer appears to sometime have trouble recognising the ipod- when I try to access the USB through my computer is says there is no disk. It appears I can't put any new songs on until I sync the ipod- but my only options appear to be sync and erase and I will lose hundreds of dollars of music.

    Welcome to AD!
Is your PC authorized for the itunes store? If so, when you connect your ipod, you should see a message about transferring purchases. Here is a screenshot of that message

Clearly, you DO NOT want to push the "erase and sync" button!

  • Recent Contact Sync Trouble

    Hello all,
I've recently began having trouble syncing my contacts and calendar (Outlook and Windows Vista 32).  The trouble begins shortly after attempting to sync with an error message of "Unable to read application data."  It happens in exactly the same area.  It will "read" all 193 of my contacts but will stop at "processing" 187 of 193 of those contacts.  Phone is a Curve 8320 with recently upgraded 4.5 os and DM v4.6, both downloaded from T-Mobile.  Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
    P. S. Thank you all so much for the help during my OS upgrade, even though you didn't know you were giving it to me.

Hi and welcome to the forums...
Do you have any null values in your Outlook address book? You can usually find them by sorting by name and look for blank entries. Also, do you have a pictures associated with any of your contacts? (link to KB) If so, try removing the picture.
If your Outlook address book is the same as your phone, you can do this next step.
First, backup up your phone. If your address book is the same on both device and Outlook, use the BACKUP / ADVANCED and clear your address book on your Blackberry Handheld and re-sync. It should populate everything from Outlook to your BB.
If that does not work or you have a discrepancy on the amount of addresses on the BB from Outlook, then you can clear (Backup first) your address book using the BACKUP/ADVANCED Gui and re-import your address book back onto your Blackberry Handheld using the Advanced Gui. This backup - restore will re-index the address book DB and can correct issues. Then try to re-sync.
Let us know how your doing...

  • Entourage Sync trouble

Since I installed Snow Leopard My Entourage calendar is not syncing correctly. I'm getting my Entourage email no problem. The issue is that my calendar is wack!
    anyone else having this issue?
I've repaired my disk permissions. nothin
    Help

Yes, similar trouble here, since installing SL. I'm using Entourage 2004, and it no longer syncs correctly with iCal. Appointments entered into Entourage are shown as four hours later in iCal. In other words, an 8:00 AM appointment in Entourage shows up in iCal as 12:00 PM - even though both Entourage and iCal are set to Eastern Time (I'm on the East Coast) and Time Zone support is turned on.
However, the reverse is not true - appointments entered into iCal show up correctly in Entourage!
Also, Address book no longer syncs birthdays correctly which have been entered into Entourage. All the birthdays in Entourage were moved ahead one day in Address Book after installing SL. For example, a birthday of January 15th in Entourage, became January 16th in Address Book. Then I started getting "Inconsistent data" warnings whenever Entourage and Address Book try to sync through sync services. I had to go through and manually change all the birthdays in Address book back one day, to make them match the correct birthdays in Entourage. Somewhat of a pain!
And, Birthdays entered into Address book no longer show up at all in Entourage!
I tried replacing sync data on MobileMe, but that only compounded the problems. And after several hours of fiddling, deleting Entourage Calendars, redoing the calendars, etc. I finally managed to erase all of my calendars by syncing with MobileMe!
Until I can find a fix, I guess I'll just enter all data into iCal and Address Book, and let it sync to Entourage, rather than the other way around as I had been doing before.
It seems to be a Time Zone issue of some sort. I've heard that Microsoft Office 2008 fixes this problem. But, I'd like to know that for sure before I spend more money on the update! Anyone know?
    Thanks!

  • Syncing trouble with Domain.sites2?

    hi there ,
i have trouble with syncing the idisk as it either sticks or reports a error to sync Domain.sites2?
    help would be appriciated here.
    cheers

I don't use .Mac for publishing websites because of all the problems and limitations but I know that, in the past when I had problems, I would go into system preferences and set it to "auto" sync.
Go away and leave it to sleep or enjoy the Labor Day holiday - when you come back it will, invariably, have sorted itself out.
My problem is I am not a patient person!

  • Treo 680 on Vista - Sync trouble when changing from Beta to new system! Help!

I have had my Treo 680 for about a year now. When I got it I found that the wonderful people at Palm never configured it to ruhn on Vista which had already been around for about 2 years at the time. Consequently, I never could use all the features ( certain media, etc.) because I had to run the Beta system. Additionally, the people at Palm told me when I called last year that the error messages I get after syncing were just something I'd have to get used to.
Fast forward to today. I go to the Palm site and I see that Beta has been replaced by a system that works with Vista. As I write this right now, I am in the process of syncing and it is stuck on " sycronizing Date Book". I have already tried reinstalling the new Vista version and re syncing again. What should I do to get this thing to work. For five cents, I'd go buy a new G phone from T Mobile and just switch over via importing data to Outlook which I currently don't use and the be done with Palm, ... but I can't even do that because I can't sync the Palm unit anymore with my PC!!!  Any help is appreciated.

DbFixIt is a database scan and repair program that can be found by doing a google seach and clicking on the first result that appears. It's made by Pimlico and after you down load the trial. You'll need to install it to the device. Unzip it and then double click the .prc file. You should get a message that it will be install during the next sync. Then you need to disable the Calendar conduit. Right click the hotsync icon just the the left of your computer clock. Goto settings, the Applications. Locate Datebook or Calendar (Or both) And uncheck them.
Then try to sync. This will install the program on the device if the sync completes. Locate the program on the 680 and open it. Once it opens click the top left hand corner and select Delete Calendar blobs. Once that's done you can run the Easy scan, it should tell you what calendar events are 'bad'. Then you can fix them manually. If you want to program to fix them automatically then you'll need to buy it.

Try restoring. It will erase everything and then restore all music, etc. That works for most problems.

  • Sync Trouble Since 3.1.2 Update

I upgraded my 3GS to 3.1.2 on Friday, and now I can't sync music.
I'm using Windows 7 64-bit RTM and iTunes 9.0.1.8. I know Windows 7 isn't officially supported yet, but everything worked perfectly before the 3.1.2 update.
Now when I enable "Sync Music", the sync process will proceed thru calendar and contacts, but when it starts on the music, the phone changes back to the "slide to unlock" screen (was previously slide to cancel) and the light on the USB hub for its port goes out and my CPU goes to 100% until I restart my computer.
I've tried downgrading the phone back to 3.1 the problem persists.
I've tried plugging the phone directly into my CPU, as well as into a powered hub. No difference.
If I only sync Contacts, Calendars, Notes, Applications, Ringtones, and Photos, it will sync just fine, but if I enable "Sync Music" after only a handful of songs the phone will disconnect, and my computer CPU will go to 100% until I reboot.
I restored my phone from a previous backup, so I suspect that something has become corrupted. I am going to try updating to 3.1.2 again and not restore from backup to see if that will resolve the sync problem.
Is anyone else experiencing similar problems?

I have upgraded to itunes 9 and downloaded the new software for the iphone 3.1.2.
Now I cannot sync my iphone OR install the new software.
Every-time I try to do this itunes tells me that my iphone "disconnected during the install / sync".
This is nonsense of course! Any clues as to what is broken gratefully received.
PS I looked up the more information page that apple suggests. However this advice seems to be on the level of the "IT crowd". IE turn your computer off and on again; and update your software to the latest version.

  • Sync trouble - nuances.

I have a problem with syncing podcasts. It's not that they won't sync. They will, but not the right ones. How do I arrange it for the oldest new/unplayed episodes go on my iPod Nano 3rd Gen? I've tried categories like:
    Sync 10 Least Recent New
    Sync 10 Least Recent Unplayed
    what's the difference?
    Please help.
Sometimes podcasts are synced that aren't even new!!!

Use the cmmunities search functionin the uper rght and search for: "unable to load data class" to find previous discussions with your problem.  Use the quote marks in the search.

  • Sync trouble or me?

Hi. I'm not sure why my address book isn't syncing with my .Mac address book. I've seemingly done everything- hit sync in the System Prefs- so that it will sync the address book. It says it is successful. Then I go to my address book on .Mac website and make sure in the preferences that it syncs it properly. Yet still I have OLD info in there and says it was last synced months ago. What happened?! User stupidity?!

    Hi Gobraves,
Got the same problem , went to the iSync .mac forum, found the following info:

    Hope this helps.

  • Photo Sync Trouble

Since the update to iTunes 7.0 and beyond, every time I try to sync photos (or Outlook Calendar), the program just quits.
Also, when I try to make iTunes the default player for audio files, it says I do not have permissions.
Anyone know what's going on ??

I just bought the ipod 30gb video and its my first one so I also have itunes 7 on windows. The itunes application would not recognize any photo files on my computer and wouldn't allow me to sync my photos, because itunes crashed when selecting the sync location on the photos tab.
I solved that problem by doing a restart of my computer with the ipod connected.
Unfortunately, I am now getting an error message when I connect the ipod to my computer at home (since I synced the photos from my itunes library at work). I tunes still crashes when I select sync photos and I get the Windows message about sending an error report. Can anyone help me?

  • Microsoft outlook sync troubles?

    Hi,
I recently bought a 2 gig black ipod nano. i works perfectly, except for the fact taht whenever i try to sync it to outlook 2003, it fails with a very unhelpful "unknown error (-50)"...
Any ideas on what might be causing this error and how to resolve it?

This is the First Apple product I have ever bought. Just bought the new Nano today. I too got the -50 error when trying to sync calendar from outlook 2003. Called 1-800-apl-care (1-800-275-2273) after along time on wait list I finally got to talk to a live person who was trying to help. I was put on hold while they were looking for the answer after several minutes I was disconnected. I called back, after a long wait I was connected to a new rep which was able to retrieve the previous info so I did not have to start from scratch (a plus in my book). They were unable to resolve the issue so they connected the case to a "Product Specialist" Ryan, they said sync was not covered by tech support. The phone rep still tried several things on his own to try to help me, to no avail. (TY for trying) No one at Apple that I talked to was able to tell what the -50 error meant. Cut and Paste from Apple Nano website "Good thing iPod nano lets you take your calendar and contacts with you. With support for Address Book and iCal on the Mac and Outlook or Outlook Express on the PC, plus industry-standard vCalendar and vCard files, iTunes syncs your calendars and contacts so you can access everything with a quick spin of the Click Wheel." So much for my first Apple purchase.
