Sync Video, Music, Photos on MacBook - Parallels/Outlook for Calendar?

Is it possible to sync my videos, photos, music with my macbook and then sync my outlook calendar which I am using with parallels 3.0 (windows xp)?

I have just been talking to an Apple Product technician about other problems. I believe the answer is no. Think of Parallels as a different computer. You would have to have iTunes installed on parallels as well as on the MacOSX. Problem is that you can only sync to one instance of iTunes.
At least that is what I understand.

unfortunately you can't separate any videos (u add to ur phone by not using nokia video manager) and images in the gallery. the best u can do is create albums in the gallery.
In the video centre u can seperate the videos in 'my videos' by creating new folders. i didn't clearly understand ur question so i hope this helps

  • Itunes 10.4.1: does not sync videos and does not communicate with outlook calendars

    Hellos,
Since upgrade to itunes 10.4 I have found the following problems and no solutions yet from apple (altought version 10.3 worked flawlessly):
1)When you check "include videos" on the sync photos tab, you get an error. The "solution" is to uncheck sync videos, but what if you want your videos?
2)I noticed today the calendar has issues. Appointments you input in outlook (on a calendar that is supposedly synched with iphone/ipad) do not show on the devices and viceversa (although they do show on iphne and ipad if you sync both, but outlook is left behind.
In outlook I have calendar and calendar mobile (the second is the one I sync to iphone). To test, I included a new calendar (calendar mobile test) and I as suspected when trying to sync, the new calendar does not show in itunes options to check the selected calendars. The previous library info probably show my mobile calendar (that was synched already) but the new one does not show up, so I think there is really a problem in itunes.
These bugs have been around now for some time now, and I am really surprised that are not adressed more agressively by apple developers.
While videos may seem as a secondary thing if you  look at it from a corporative point of view (but ****!!! I WANT my videos on the my ipad and iphone!!!!), not synching appointments you add to the ipad/iphone and you expect to show on outlook and viceversa, are meant to be an unplesant surprise for those who rely on these devices.
Bottomline: I like ipad/iphone, but APPLE..., you need to solve these issues that have been around the forum for some time now. Common!!!

I had a similar problem. My iTunes didn't start automatically when I connected any of my devices after the upgrade to iTunes 10.4.1.
I found I had to add the iTunesHelper.app in System Preferences->Users & Groups under my account on the Login Items tab.
You have to navigate to it in finder, because I couldn't seem to do "Show Package Contents" on iTunes.app in the Applications folder from the file dialog you get when you hit '+'.
Once you have opened the package contents of the iTunes.app then the iTunesHelper.app is in Contents/MacOS. I just dragged and dropped into the Login Items window, then ticked it to start on login.
Note, this will only start it when you log in, to start it immediately just double click iTunesHelper.app in finder.

  • How do I sync iTunes music on a Macbook Pro to a PC via iCloud?

I have a Macbook Pro with all my music files on - I have recently upgraded my software to iOS5 and I am running Lion.
I have synced my iphone to my Macbook Pro via iCloud, but I would also like to sync my wife's PC laptop (Windows Vista) to my Macbook Pro, again for the music files - I have downloaded iCloud and iTunes on her PC with my Apple ID.
I was wondering if anyone knows how I go about syncing these two devices as I can't fathom out how to do it!

You don't use iCloud for this. You do it with iTunes.
On your iPhone 4s you need to use the same Apple ID for the iTunes Stores that you use on your Macbook Pro. Your iCloud ID can be different for syncing calendars, mail, etc. but in the iTunes stores on your phone, it needs to be the same Apple ID that you bought the apps/music with.

  • Can I Sync My Music From My Macbook Pro To An External Drive

I have a MacBook Pro, which has all of my music stored on its hard drive and I play this through iTunes and sync with my iPod.
I am looking for a simple way of synchronizing this with an external hard drive I have so my music is kept up to date and should I add any music to my MacBook it will automatically update the external drive and hopefully this will provide back up in case anything happens.
    Thanks
    Big G

There really is only one way to do this but it's not automatic in the sense you are thinking. Use a utility for syncing folders or any good backup utility such as:
    Suggested Backup Software
      1. Carbon Copy Cloner
      2. Data Backup
      3. Deja Vu
      4. SuperDuper!
      5. Synk Pro
      6. Tri-Backup
Others may be found at VersionTracker or MacUpdate.
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on backup and restore.  Also read How to Back Up and Restore Your Files.
Configure the utility to sync (not backup) the two folders. Then set up a schedule for the sync to occur on a regular basis.

  • Trouble syncing videos and photos to my iPod

  • I have my iPhone connected but can't seem to sync my music to the MacBook music library, what should I do?

How do I sync my music to my Mac? When I disconnect my iPhone, my music library is gone. I've already authorized the computer so I'm not sure what to do next.

Make sure you have the latest iTunes version.  Is all the music on the phone or mac?  If former there are programs like I iexplorer you can use to add to library.  iTunes syncs only from computer to device.

  • How do I import photos from macbook to iPad2 for editing in apps?

I don't have iPhoto on my iPad as it sounds so unstable from the reviews...how else to import pix from macbook to iPad 2?

It's fine that you don't have iPhoto on your iPad ... but you should certainly use iPhoto on your Mac to do the importing.  Set your photos up in iPhoto on the Mac in events or albums, then, when you sync your iPad, you can input your sync instructions into iTunes on your Mac about which events or albums you wish to sync.
Of course, make sure your Mac software is up to date (iTunes 11.0.1, iPhoto 9.4.2).
Those sync instructions are input via iTunes while your iPad is syncing using iTunes' "Photo" tab.

  • Iphone 4s will no longer sync with itunes 11.0.4 using outlook for mac

I have been successful for almost 18 months in getting my Outlook for Mac 2011 to sync to my iphone 4s using itunes.  However, I noticed today that changes that I was making to my contacts either on my phone or on the computer were not being synced up.  I also plug in using USB to sync, because iCloud causes all sorts of probems when syncing things to Outlook for Mac.  Can anyone help me?
I have noticed that in itunes 11.0.4 there is no longer a box to check or a dropdown box specifically being able to choose "sync contacts with outlook"
I know I am in the dark ages, but I happen to like Outlook and the integration of the calendar and contacts, etc.  So I would really like to get this fixed and syncing again.
thanks for any and all help.

I am having the same problem. Does anyone have a suggestion or information as to why?

  • My IPod Touch 4th Gen easily syncs videos and photos, but not music

I should mention that since my last sync I successfully transferred my ITunes Folder to a separate hard drive.
This went smoothly and all the files made it.
Since then I have been all through i-Tunes and everything was fine.
When I synced, tv shows and videos that I added were synced.
Also new apps from my i-pod were synced with ITunes.
Then, it synced my photo album.
The music that was originally on the i-Pod is still on my computer, and the sync check marks were still in place.
I added a few extra albums too
But when it synche, it only pulled down one song.
The PLAYLISTS, ARTISTS, AND ALBUMS were all empty
I did the process several times and each time it would tell me it's syncing photos, then it would be done.
It didn't touch my music at all.
Has anyone else had this experience?
    If so, please assist.
    regards and thanks in advance.

Additionally, I took note that the ONE song that synced was checked within the LIBRARY list
and NOT within the music list within the I-Pod Window.
So, I have manually checked the songs that I want and it appears that the SYNC is happening correctly.
So my actual question is:  How can I divert control back to the listing within the I-Pod Window (which I'd prefer to use) and let it be the default rather than the whole music Library?

  • Iphone wont sync new music with new Macbook.

I recently purchased a new Macbook. Through home sharing I manged to transfer my itunes library from my old computer to my new one. Although my device is recognized on my new computer instead of being recognized as "Nicole's Iphone" its simply "Iphone". This morning I downloaded a few new songs to my library and tried to sync them to my phone with no luck. The phone will sync when connected to my new computer but none of the new music is transfered. How do I get my new computer to properly recognize my iphone? Do I need to deactivate itunes on my old computer? Any help would be greatly appriciated. Thanks.

    Hello CNicole2000
Ensure that your new computer is authorized for your Apple ID and then sync to test. If it does not work, then check Manually manage music and videos and then drag and drop the files that you want on your iPhone.

  • Syncing Libary Iphone photos to Macbook

My macbook broke and i lost everything on it but it was backed up on my Iphone I have got everything back onto my laptop except my pictures! How do i get my picyures back to my laptop???

Sorry, you can't. You'll have to use 3rd party software like touchcopy or similar, this siftware is not supported by Apple.
Pictures synced to the phone are reduced in size and quality for optimized viewing on the phone. And only photos taken with the phone are part of your backup.

  • Syncing ipod music on rebooted macbook

unfortunately, i managed to pick up a virus on my macbook which caused me to reboot the entire system and lose all my information including all my music. i managed to sync my ipod nano a day before i picked up the virus and now that i connect the nano to sync it asks me to wipe the ipod out and update it with music from the current itunes library (however i dont have any music in my library anymore due to the system reboot) is there any way i can get the music from my nano uploaded onto my macbook?
    Thanks

I believed it was a virus because i downloaded the trial version of virusbarrier x4 from the apple downloads website and upon installing and restarting my macbook my computer began doing all sorts of stuff by itself like opening programs and deleting files and renaming things and such, i couldn't open ANY file whatsoever, as soo as i would click on anything my macbook would freeze up.
i didn't have any valuable information on my mac except for old school projects, so i went ahead and i guess "formatted and reinstalled" the entire os from scratch. now my mac works again.
that was very helpful, and solved my problem, thanks alot!
