Sync Videos to iPhone

Hi, In my itunes library i have all my videos twice... One formated for iphone which are about 200 - 500mb and a set for apple TV which are the best quality possible, is there anyway i can sync just the videos that are for the iphone to the iphone?? Thanks Steve

Under the Video tab for your iPhone sync preferences, below TV Shows, you can choose Selected TV Shows followed by selecting the TV Shows below that are formatted for the iPhone only.
Under Movies, you must select the movies that you want transferred to your iPhone.

  • Sync video from iPhone 4 to iTunes..?

I've just got my new iPhone 4 (upgraded from iPhone 2G) and it's superb!
I recorded my first video today but for the life of me I can't seem to get it to sync into iTunes. Everything else works fine.
I'm quite sure I'm missing something blindingly obvious here but does anyone have any pointers?
    Thanks.

"Uploading Photos and Videos to Your Computer
You can upload the photos and videos you take with Camera to photo applications on
your computer, such as iPhoto on a Mac.
Upload photos and videos to your computer: Connect iPhone to your computer.
Â Mac: Select the photos and videos you want and click the Import or Download
button in iPhoto or other supported photo application on your computer.
Â PC: Follow the instructions that came with your photo application.
If you delete the photos and videos from iPhone when you upload them to your
computer, they’re removed from the Camera Roll album. You can use the iTunes
Photos settings pane to sync photos and videos (videos can be sync with Macs only)
to the Photos application on iPhone. See “iPhone Settings Panes in iTunes” on page 55."

  • Itunes doesnt sync videos to iphone 4s

I am able to view the itunes videos in my computer but not able to sync to my iphone 4s.  I have checked the format is in mp4 and dimension is 640x480. Why is it not working?  It used to be fine before all the OS upgrading, can apple do something about it.

Being an mp4 isn't enough.  To play on a 4S requires (from http://www.apple.com/iphone/specs.html):
"Video formats supported: H.264 video up to 1080p, 30 frames per second, High Profile level 4.1 with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; MPEG-4 video up to 2.5 Mbps, 640 by 480 pixels, 30 frames per second, Simple Profile with AAC-LC audio up to 160 Kbps per channel, 48kHz, stereo audio in .m4v, .mp4, and .mov file formats; Motion JPEG (M-JPEG) up to 35 Mbps, 1280 by 720 pixels, 30 frames per second, audio in ulaw, PCM stereo audio in .avi file format".
It's possible the videos you have are in a .mp4 container but don't meet the other specs.  There's lots of 3rd party applications that will convert videos to be compatible with an iPhone.  You may have to find one of these and convert your videos first.

  • Itunes shuts down when syncing videos to iphone 3gs

iTunes shuts down when trying to sync videos on my iPhone 3gs. Music syncs fine but when videos try and sync iTunes crashes ant suggestions?

When my new 80GB iPod attempts to sync my Outlook contacts information, Outlook opens, and then I get the "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close" screen and iTunes shuts down.
hmmmm. in the "further information" link, is there a particular compenent being identified as causing the crash? if so, what is it called?

  • How to sync video to iPhone

I have a video with extension .m4v which does not sync with my iphone. These are the properties of the video
    MPEG-4 video file
    128kbps
    Low Complexity
    Stereo
    1572 kbps
    480x360
    H.264
I also have the same file in quicktime movie format. Even that file does not sync? I have specifically created this .m4v using itunes from a .mov file using "convert selection to apple tv". But, what ever I do, it does not sync with my iPhone. What am I doing wrong? Do I have to specifically export all my .mov files using "convert selection for ipod"?
I also tried the option "convert selection for ipod". This option does sync with my iPhone, but the video does not appear under Video. It does come under audio but not under video.
The first issue I need to resolve is how do I sync with iPhone.
The second issue I have is :
Is there a specific format that I can keep my movies, so that I can sync with both my apple tv, iphone and also play in itunes? I dont mind converting all my movies to one format, instead of retaining the movies in three different formats to play them on all three media.

The data rate is too high -- 1500 is the max but 1000 is far safer (and most presets use under 1000).
Also, it sounds odd, but change the extension to MP4 when you convert it for iPod. Sometimes (maybe even a lot) the iPhone won't properly see an M4V extension as a movie. I know I have to convert all that I do with Handbrake to this extension.
I have both Apple TV and the iPhone and I use Handbrake for all my movie stuff. I convert using the iPhone preset but change the resolution to 640 (and turn autocrop on if I'm doing a widescreen movie). This plays perfectly on both the iPhone and Apple TV and, best of all, the quality is superb with small file sizes. I've run it on a 38inch TV and it looks to be as good or better than DVD in (it won't compare to HD but we're not talking HD here).
Even using the video cables (both composite and component) on the iPhone output the quality is terrific. I highly recommend this workflow.

  • Syncing video to iPhone?

Is it possible to put short video clips onto my iPhone? I shoot these with
my digital still camera and can see them in iTunes, but they won't sync
over like photos do. I get a message like "not supported by iPhone". Is
there another way to do this? Many thanks.

Select it in iTunes and convert the selection for the iPhone from the Advanced menu.

  • Syncing Videos to iPhone/iPad

I have videos recorded on a Canon PowerShot G10 in Aperture. How can I sync those to my iPad? iTunes transparently “optimizes” photos for my iPhone and iPad, but doesn't do the same for videos. How can I get iTunes (or Aperture) to do the same for videos being synced to mobile devices?

Don't you need the pro version of Quicktime to convert to iPod/iPad? Or is that now standard?

  • Can't sync videos from iPhone to iPhoto

Just bought a MacBook Pro. My daughter has sent me some videos from her iPhone to mine. When I try to sync from iPhone to iPhoto, the photos sync fine, but iPhoto doesn't see the videos, which are saved in the camera roll. Yes, I have checked "include videos" in the iTunes menu.
The funny thing is that on my old G4 PowerBook, iPhoto would see the videos and import them just fine.
    What am I not doing?

iPhoto should import them just fine. Have you tried repairing permissions on your Macbook, then re-booting & see if iPhoto will see & import them.

  • Syncing Videos to iPhone Similar to Syncing to Apple TV

I have iTunes set to sync all unwatched episodes of a TV Show I have to my Apple TV. Now, I have more episodes then can fit on the ATV, but that is not a problem since iTunes is smart enough to only sync what can fit, then when an episode becomes watched, it removes it from my ATV and replaces it with the next unwatched episode. This works amazingly.
Now comes my problem. I use the same settings for my iPhone, and iTunes suddenly becomes stupid and doesn't know what to do when all the videos won't fit. It tells me that several video files can't be synced because there is not enough space. I would have thought it would handle this the same way it does with the ATV, but apparently I was mistaken. Does anyone know of a way that I can achieve what happens with my ATV on my iPhone?

I have exactly this problem. I have purchased a number of TV shows from the iTunes store, plus I also have eyeTV which can export TV recordings to iTunes.
I started off setting iTunes to sync the 3 most recently unwatched episodes of about 3 different TV shows. This worked fine until I had watched all the episodes.
What I expected iTunes to do was replace the watched episodes with unwatched ones. Unfortunately, this does not occur. So eventually you just end up with the same 3 episodes of each show, all of which you have already watched.
I have used a playlist in the past, and I set one up again. I set iTunes up to sync unwatched episodes from this playlist, but now it has not sync'd any TV shows at all.
This is really frustrating as the only option is for me to maintain this entirely manually - surely this is not what Apple intended?
    Russell.

  • Syncing videos to iPhone from iPhoto

I have a iPhoto 09 and an iPhone 3GS. I currently use Events as the primary organizational tool for my photos. I have a few Events that also have videos (taken from point and shoot cameras) in the .mov format. I would like these videos to sync with my events onto my iPhone so when I show people my pictures, I can show the videos at the appropriate times (and not have to go over to the iPod function, etc).
I was wondering what the best method is to convert my video (which I would think is playable in the iPhone b/c its .mov) to a playable format for the iPhone, while keeping the meta data (creation date, etc, so that it says in the appropriate place in the Event).
Any suggestions? In particular I'm working on an event with Videos from a Canon Powershot, and I believe the videos are "HD"
    Thanks for the help.

The easiest way is to use iMovie. The videos you have in iPhoto should show up in the source list in iMovie. Create a new project in iMovie for each video you want. You can create a single project and add all the movies or create a different project for each movie. You don't have to edit the clips if you don't want to.
When you're ready, for each project in iMovie choose Share->iTunes... and make sure iPhone is one of the destinations. iMovie will compress the movies to make them compatible with the iPhone and they will be stored in iTunes. You can then sync your iPhone with iTunes.

  • Syncing videos from iPhone to iMac

How do I get videos I've taken with my iPhone camera to my desktop iMac computer?  Do I do it when I sync?  If so, I haven't been able to figure out which syncing settings accomplish this.  Thanks in advance for any help with this!

That did the trick...you're awesome!  I never even open up iPhoto when I have my phone attached.  I'm pretty new to iPhone...only a few months now and only a year with my iMac.  I always would just connect my phone, watch it sync using iTunes and then disconnect it.  Thanks again!

  • Getting movies (not just video) from iPhone 3GS to Mac

I did the following in order (question at end)
    captured video using iPhone 3GS
synced video from iPhone to iPhoto on Mac
    imported iPhoto video to iMovie
    created movie in iMovie
used "Share" feature in iMovie to share the movie in iTunes (so I could play on Apple TV)
    synced movie back to iPhone
deleted movie from Mac (where iTunes was accessing it)
Now, the movie content only resides on my iPhone...can I get it back from the iPhone onto my Mac (so I can eventually get it back into iTunes)?
    Thank you in advance...

I've found another thread dealing with the video part of this problem, which, for me, has solved the image problem as well. Here's the thread:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2489460
Thanks to Grognard for suggesting this:
Step one: turn off and on your iPhone.
Step Two : launch iTunes and iPhoto
Step three : connect the iPhone to the computer
    Then importation will be possible.
Clearly this still seems to be a glitch -- these kinds of work-arounds are a huge pain. Hope an update will solve the problem.

  • Cannot sync videos from iTunes to iPhone 5S

I recently got an iPhone 5S 32 GB.  I restored it through iTunes from a backup of my old iPhone 4S 16 GB.  Since the restore, & after an upgrade to iOS 8.0.2, I can no longer sync videos from iTunes 11.4.0.18 to the iPhone.  Previously I had been syncing a number of these videos to the 4S for years.
Here's what I've always done:  I simply connect the iPhone to my PC via a lightning cable.  Next I click on the "Movies" button at the top of the window.  Then I check the box to sync the movies that I wish to transfer.  Finally I hit "Apply."  The sync starts, but the movies never make it to the phone for some reason.
When I click on "Movies" under the iPhone on the left side of the screen, I see a listing of the movies that should have synced.  They are listed there, but they are kind of greyed out, & they have a dotted circle beside them.  This is very puzzling because I have over 17 GB of free space on the phone.  I can also confirm that the files are on my hard drive in the location shown when I right-click & hit "Get Info."  I can also successfully sync the very same videos with my iPad mini.
Does anyone have any suggestions?  Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

UPDATE:  I backed up my phone, wiped it (Settings -> General -> Reset -> Erase All Content and Settings), & then restored it through iTunes.  For whatever reason, that seems to have fixed the problem.  Movies now sync to my phone like they used to.
That process seems to have corrected 1 or 2 other minor issues, including one where iTunes was 'syncing artwork' for a long time on every sync.

  • Suddenly my iTunes will no longer sync video taken on the iPhone. Why?

Suddenly my iTunes will no longer sync video taken on the iPhone. Why?

I have this question too.  I made my own video on my iPhone 4S.  I want to put it on my iPad.  I synced it to my iPhoto, and trying now to move it to iPad.  The computer WILL NOT do this.  Why not? I occasionally get messages it's not in a correct format, but for God's sake, I filmed it on the phone, in whatever format Apple uses.  ***?
