Sync with ipod classic going slow

i reformatted my ipod and updated it etc.
when im syncing it for the first time now it goes average(fast) speed to about song nr. 300. (1.80 gb) then it starts going reaaaalllyyy slow.... like 3-4 minutes per song. and i have 2900 songs waiting to be transferred to my ipod.
anyone can help?

after 200 songs with insanly bad speed, it suddenly started going faster. dont know if it will continue. but an answer for me\others with the same problem would be appreciated:)

Might be worth tearing down the whole iTunes install and starting over...
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.

Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
and paste into:
C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

ITunes won't sync with ipod classic, keeps asking for authorization

I have a brand new Macbook Air. I transfered my iTunes library from my old mac to the new one. However, some songs weren't on the old computer, they were only on the iPod classic.
When I try to sync the iPod classic, it tells me 539 songs aren't on the new computer, should it sync? I say yes. Then it says that the computer is no longer authorized. I fill in the authorization with the correct userid and password (it comes prefilled with a very strange userid that I've never seen before.)
It tries to sync, then I get the same message, that the computer is no longer authorized.
I'm assuming there's a certificate or cookie some place that's out of wack -- can you tell me where it is and I can go delete it?

PS. I was able to successfully sync my iPod Nano to the new computer without this issue at all. Then again, it didn't have any songs on it that weren't already on the new computer. I haven't tried syncing my iPod Mini to the new computer yet.

Itunes 10.6.1.7 will not sync with ipod classic. When is Apple going to fix this!!!!

After upgrading to the latest version of iTunes - 10.6.1.7 my iPod classic is not recognized and I cannot sync it.
The iPod does appear as a drive on my computer (with Windows XP). The screen message syas the ipod is corrupted. Did a disk check on ipod in disk mode and tried again. No success.
I've gone through the steps for troubleshooting;
It worked fine before I upgraded iTunes and I'm at a loss on how to fix this.

Try the steps listed on the linked pages in the answer below you up to the restore part. If it looks good, trying doing a System Restore in Windows XP to the day before you upgraded it, reverting it back to the older version of i-tunes. But, if something in the previous steps points to a hard drive issue, this won't help you.

ITunes won't sync with iPod Classic

Hi Helpful people,
Sorry to ask the same question as a lot of others but nothing seems to be working.
I have a 60GB iPod classic and I'm running iTunes 10.6.1.7
iTunes detects my iPod device.
In the iPod summary I have open iTunes when iPod is connected ticjed and sync only ticked songs and videos ticked.
I have tried sync'ing like this and with both unticked.
I have triied sync'ing from this page and also the File drop down.
The best I have achieved so for is it saying it is sync'ing but I don't get the usual message at the top of sync'ing 1 of 5226 or whatever that I used to.
Any tips from cyberspace?

A youtube movie clip will not sync with Ipod classic

I downloaded a short movie clip from youtube using Vdownloader. The clip downloaded to my movies in Itunes.
However it will not sync with my Ipod classic, and comes up with the error message "the olympics opening sequence was not copied to the Ipod, because it can not be played on this ipod."
Previous movies using Vdownloader have copied to the Ipod okay. I am running on Windows XP.
Any help would be appreciated.

Let's just say that if your mvies are rent or bought, they are possible for snycing on your classic, but if they are downloads they won't be able to sync on your classic...

You cannot put an hd movie on an ipod classic at all.
When you purchase an HD video on a supported device or computer, only HD video will be downloaded. To download the SD version, you need to download the video again from your Purchased page. Conversely, if you purchase an HD video on an unsupported device, the SD version will be downloaded. Then, you will need to download the HD version from your Purchased page. Calendar, Notes and Adressbook are not syncing with iPod classic

My iPod isn´t syncing my calendar, my notes and my adressbook.
When the iPod is connected and I check it in the Finder, then iCal, Adressbook and Notes are on the iPod and seem to have been properly synced, but after disconnecting, none of them are shown on the iPod.
What I tried so far is: updating the iPod-software, emptying the iPod and reloading it.
I tried the five steps to rebuild an iPod, but nothing helped.
I checked iCal for wrong Birthday-Dates and removed the one I found. But nothing changed.
I checked the User/Library and System/Library and removed the p.lists of iCal and Adressbook.
I build a new User and a small Adressbook and a little iCal, which was properly synced to my iPod at that point. I went back to the user, me, and did the same. Calendar and Adressbook were working fine. But after reloading my music in addition to the data already on the iPod, no Adressbook or iCal was displayed anymore.
I brought the iPod to a service-center, and they couldn´t find anything. But after reloading my music and Adressbook and iCal, none of the latter ones were displayed again.
I can´t say, when iCal started not working properly, but it might have lasted two months now. Adressbook was running well at that time.
Can anyone help me?

Calendars shouls sync if you have an iCloud account and have checked the box for calendars in the System Preference/iCloud area.
I do not think there is anyway to use Reminders with Calendar. They do not sync between the MBP and an IOS device. I would think this would be important but they failed to do it.

Carolyn - thanks, but I had already authorized my new laptop. When I try to Sync, essentially nothing happens - for about a second iTunes says it's synchronizing my iPod, which it recognizes as mine, but then the iPod immediately says it's ready to disconnect. The iPod has about 65 gigabytes of songs on it and for several years, with my old, original laptop, when I synced, iTunes would update any new downloads and playlists onto the iPod. Since I got the new laptop, I have about 2-3 GB of new music on it and a few new playlists and they won't update to my iPod. I hate to have to "restore" the iPod, which I think overwrites everything on the iPod and would likely take 3-4 hours at the 1 song per second figure I've seen quoted, but if that's the only way to do it, I guess I can. Any other suggestions?

I'm having sync issues too since I've updated to 11.0.4. My ipod 160 will no longer sync properly or will hang when attempting to sync yet my 4th gen touch doesn't have any problems. I am thinking about uninstalling it and rolling back to an older version of itunes.
