Sync with Outlooks duplicated some contacts

I synced my 4th generation ipod with Outlook and for some reason I ended up with some of the contacts shown a duplicates in the ipod contacts menu. How do I delete the duplicates on the ipod. They are no duplicates in Outlook.

If you did not get this answered yet, I believe I can help. You first create the new contact folder in Outlook with exactly the info/contacts you want. You do this by clicking on 'New' at the top left of your Outlook Contacts screen. Be sure to name the folder, so you know what to look for when you go to iTunes. You can select the contacts you want from your orig. list and drag them into the new folder. Then in iTunes, (with your phone attached) on the info tab, go first to the Contacts section and make sure you have 'Selected groups' and your new folder checked. Then, at the very bottom of the info tab is the 'advanced' option. Make your selections there and click apply and sync, and you should get what you need. Hope this helps.

Previously I could sync and iPhone 4/4S with Outlook 2010 Contacts and Calendar but it stopped working when I moved to Outlook 2013.

How do I sync with Outlook 2010 business contact manager

My Iphone will default to "contacts" in Outlook 2010.
All my contacts are in "Business Contact Manager", not "contacts".
How do I change to sync with BCM ?

I do not know why but from what you said it started a week ago so I assume it was working before that.
Can you remember installing any new apps or updates on your computer or phone around that time.

Can't sync with outlook, error 8393f017

Hi everyone.
I am using a Nokia E51 and Ovi Suite, both the latest versions, under Windows 7 32 bits.
However, some weeks ago, it stopped syncing with Outlook (calendar and contacts). However, it can correctly sync the SMS messages.
It starts syncing and stops saying that the phone got disconnected, error 8393f017.
The same thing happens with bluetooth and USB cable.
What can I do?

ICloud control panel not syncing with outlook 2013

I have installed iCloud on windows 7 64-bit. after installation it asked if I want to sync with outlook my mail , contacts etc. so I selected the option to sync and clicked apply.
The program said that it needs to setup mail, contacts etc with outlook 2013 and the loading gif started to work , then I click on close .
when I open outlook 2013 i do not see my icloud folder or contacts .
am I missing something here?
PS. I tried to uninstall and re install icloud control panel with the same effect.

In Outlook 2013, I navigated to "People" and copied the contacts that I wanted to sync from the "Contacts" folder to the "Search Results" folder (<ctrl>+[drag and drop] to folder in left hand Folder pane).
iTunes then synchronised those contacts (only) fine.

Your premise is not true - the Razr (and any Android device) will sync with Outlook Calendar and Contacts. There are many different options depending on how you are using Outlook (personal pc, corporate exchange server, etc) and what and how you want to sync.

I would love to do this as well. All I need is my calendar appts from outlook. Right now I am using google calendar sync, but I would like to move to the cloud and away from google. I find it hard to believe there isn't an option to do this.

IPhone no longer syncs with Outlook Contacts/Calendar

For months I was syncing with my computer at home for music and videos, then I bring my iPhone to work and sync my Outlook Contacts and Calendar.
Now, when I plug in my iPhone on my work computer, everything operates as it used to, it still says it's syncing contacts, then syncing the calendar, but after it's done, when I look at the calendar or contacts in my iPhone, nothing has changed. It's simply not syncing with Outlook anymore, even though the status bar at the top of iTunes says it is syncing.

It appears I have solved the issue myself and thought I would share the solution in case anyone runs into this problem.
In Outlook, I only have one profile. However, Outlook somehow had some settings changed where it prompted me for which profile I wanted to use each time I started Outlook (even though I only have one profile). Because it was prompting me to choose when I start Outlook, I am guessing that when iTunes tried to access Outlook, it was also prompting iTunes to choose which profile to use as well. Since iTunes didn't know which profile, it wasn't syncing properly (note, iTunes never asks you which profile you want to use).
To fix this, I went to the control panel, double clicked the mail icon, clicked the button that says "Show Profiles". I highlighted the only profile I have listed in the drop-down menu and checked the box that says "Always use this profile".
I then sync'd iTunes with my phone and the calendar and contacts finally updated!

i just moved to a new PC (former: Sony Vaio pro with win 7 pro, outlook 10 > new: sony vaio duo with win 8, outlook 13 from office 365 home). i used to sync outlook contacts and calendars with blackberry and iphone and ipad on my old notebook using desktop manager from blackberry.
Now with my new PC, ipad and iphone are still working fine and they sync with outlook: new entries on outlook calendar and new contacts are added to my mobile and vice versa but when i connect my Blackberry Bold i don get any of the updates.
i confirm that i am using the latest version of the desktop manager 7.0.
my desktop manager organizer is set up to sync both ways for both calendar and contacts
Any idea please?

Problems with Sync with Outlook contacts and calendar (Office 2007)

I have been able to set up my Blackberry curve with email accounts, but sync with Outlook contacts fails. My device will show as connected, but nothing happens. I continue to get a message if I want to use Mass Storage mode on my phone and I assume this should be checked as yes, then I get a folder showing up on my desktop with "Removable Disk (E, which contains several files.
When Desktop Manager is opened I get message "Initial Plugin: Verifying Applications" "checking the status of the applications on the device. This is only required on the first connection of the device to a new desktop installation" It shows in the same dialog box "connecting to the device (JVM)...
The connection hangs and nothing happens. I have reinstalled software and was even told by Verizon Support to exchange the phone (which I did), but the same issue of non-connection for sync is still there.
Any help/suggestions are greatly appreciated.

iTunes thread found that sync issue was caused by reoccuring appointments,
Basically you need to modify the reoccuring appointments (and may require to add an end date as this was how the guy made a modification) and then re-sync.

Sounds like the Outlook plugin isn't working properly. You could try a couple of things:
Go to Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs, uninstall iCloud, the download and install the iCloud contol panel for Windows again from here: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1455. Then sign back into your iCloud account and check your syncing settings again.
Uninstall iTunes and all of its components as by following this guide exactly: Windows XP or Windows Vista/7, then reinstall iTunes. You must follow this guide exactly or it will not be successful. (Uninstalling iTunes will only remove the application; it will not touch your iTunes library or data.) This will replace the Outlook plugin.
Then try your calendar again and see if it will sync properly now.

HT4759 Apple Engineering has been unable to solve "Error 0x80040604". It has been 9 calendar days. I cannot sync with Outlook with contacts and calendar. I see where others are having same problem. Is there a solution?

The sync with Outlook contacts abd Calendar was working well for 6 months. I have iphone4 and mini ipad connected to the iCloud.. My " bandaid "is to only use the iphone 4 for contacts and calendar events.
