Sync with Snow Leopard 10.6.1

I have just upgraded to Snow Leopard and I can no longer sync with my TX.  The Apple discussion page says Apple has dropped support for Palm.  Does anyone know of a work around this?
Thanks

Seriously? The acceptable solution to this thread is to pay for another solution to handle what should be handeled by software provided by palm? I think this very disappointing, and actually unhelpful. So is there no Palm solution in the works?

  • Help! Aperture won't work with Snow Leopard...

I know you will all probably laugh at me because I have just upgraded to Snow Leopard.  The problem is that nobody told me my Aperture wouldn't work anymore! I can't even open it to retrieve my photos...(btw, this is why I was hesitant to upgrade...but I had to because I got the iphone 5 which wouldn't sync with my itunes version and that wouldn't update unless I went to snow leopard...and so on....).
So, the problem is that I need Aperture version 2.0. so I can update that to 2.1.4 and be compatible with Snow Leopard.  I have 1.5.6 and kept it that way because it was working for me and I just basically use Aperture as a photo storage system. I can't find 2.0 anywhere. I can't figure out how to uninstall snow leopard either. I need my photos back asap.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you in advance,
    Debi

    One more question, debi.
Does your Aperture icon show a circular ring like the ghostbusters? Like below for my CCC?
And is the "Kind" listed as "Application (PowerPC)" when you use "Get Info ⌘I)? That would indicate that your current Aperture version is still a PowerPC application. Then you can still make it run on Snow Leopard. You have to make sure that your Snow Leopard installation includes the Rosetta environment.
Do you have a Snow Leopard install disk? Look into the "Optional Installs" folder on this disk and open the "Optional Installs" package. Proceed as described in the second part of this
    article:
    http://www.macworld.com/article/1167117/reinstalling_rosetta.html
If your Aperture 2 version is still a PoerPC app, installing Rosetta should enable you to run the aperture 2 installer from your installation disk and then upgrade to Aperture 2.1.4.

  • Palm Sync and Snow Leopard

    Hi,
I just upgraded to a Mac with Snow Leopard and realized that my Palm Centro no longer syncs. I looked at all the discussions online. I see that Apple isn't doing anything, Palm isn't doing anything, and I'm supposed to pay $40 for a new program that might not work. I just want to use iCal for my Palm calendar. Does anyone have a fresh idea? It would be much appreciated. I'm a little disappointed in both Mac and Palm right now.
    Thanks.

As I already mentioned, you'll see your only option is the Missing Sync.

  • Is FCX HD compatible with Snow Leopard?

Just upgraded to a new iMac and I have a need to use FCXHD for a project that iMovie won't handle (syncing multiple video tracks). I haven't been using FCXHD for awhile now I need to install on the new iMac. Is it compatible with snow leopard? I ready to buy the upgrade but wouldn't mind saving $99. Plus, when I originally purchased FCXHD they released FCX4 the following week...sigh. LOL
    Thanks,

Only the current version is supported on Snow Leopard.

  • Is the 2G iPod Nano compatible with Snow Leopard?

I have an iPod Nano 2G that was working fine with my Powerbook running Tiger.  The PB finally bit the dust and I'm now the proud owner of a shiney new 13" MBP.  Unfortunately, when I plug in the iPod, it does not show up in iTunes.  When I plug it in, the iPod Nano appears on my desktop and iTunes starts up, but the iPod does not appear in iTunes.
I am able to sync an iPod Touch on this same machine without any problems.
Is the 2G Nano compatible with Snow Leopard?

Yes, it's compatible.  Try using Disk Utility to reformat the Nano to see if that helps.  Here are instructions on how to reformat your iPod using Disk Utility.

  • Can I use Palm Desktop 4.2.1 with Snow Leopard?

I had a Visor Pro, which unfortunately was stolen along with my Mac PowerBook G4.  I have ordered a new Mac laptop (MacBook Pro), but I am not going to be able to replace the Visor.
I want to be able to continue using the Palm Desktop application - I had version 4.2.1 for the Mac. I have 10 years of information in that program, I don't know one better and would like to continue to use it, Visor or no Visor.
    I have several questions:
Is Palm Desktop Version 4.2.1 for Mac compatible and will run on a MacBook Pro running Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard?
If I do a "migration assistant" to move my applications to the new computer from my backup harddrive, will the Palm program move over okay and be useable? Or,---
Do I have to install Palm Desktop from scratch?  If so, can I download Palm Desktop from the website - I cannot find a page anywhere on palm.com to download the program.  Does anyone have a link?
Or, is the Palm Desktop program that would work with Snow Leopard a different version than the 4.2.1 I have?  And if so, how do I upgrade/move my data from 4.2.1 to a newer version?
I don't need to be able to HotSync as I no longer have the Palm device.  I just want to be able to use the desktop software.
    Thanks for the help,
    Tara

    Tara,
I could have been you asking a very similar question, although I'm still not sure on the solution after some of the knowledgeable answers.
Like you, I have been using Palm Desktop to store 5 years of information, and I'm getting ready to buy the new iMac who reps tell me is probably not compatible with Palm Software anymore or will not and I should find other alternatives to store all my information.
For instance, I use Palm as my date book and To Do List which I find very convenient.  Apple reps told me I could try getting used to iCal for this which I have been doing lately to try & get used to it.
Then there are my addresses.  I also use Palm to store all my basic addresses (some with E-mail, some without).  It was recommended to me to just use the address book that comes with the iMac.  I've never used it but I can see in itself, it's easy to add addresses.  My computer consultant also told me that she could easily transfer the addresses from those on Palm to my Thunderbird which I use with Firefox.  So, if all my addresses were transferred from my Palm to Thunderbird, then I would just have them on Thunderbird, but I find it easier navigating them in Palm.
The last thing I use Palm for and the most important is under the menu of "Memos".  For each category, I have created an alphabetized subject, like computers, legal, passwords, shopping (about 30 topics) and when I want to save important information, I go to that category and write as much or as little as a reference.  I wondered "which" application I would use in order to create a similar way of looking up information on subjects.
I copied/pasted it all into a simple word document but that's not really made for what I want.
The last time I went to an Apple store and explained what I wanted -- they were the ones who suggested to use iMac addresses to store my Palm addresses, iCal to use as a new calendar and to do list, and finally an application (on the dock) called "E-mail" where I could do a similar thing as I did on my Palm by creating a series of categories, and when I click on it, a memo page comes up where I can type anything I want to related to that topic.  It was demonstrated to me, altho I forgot how she did it, but although it was not meant for a function like that, it's easily done as with the Palm.  I told my computer consultant this.
She was concerned that I may not be able to use my Thunderbird G-mail system if I have all my info in iMac applications.  Yet if the addresses are in Thunderbird as well, I can't see why that would interfer.
Anyway, today she sent me this link & question and I start reading about a "sync" application and I would have no problem.  They also mentioned software called Benno, but told me to try and use Apple apps first instead of having to go out and buy a whole new application to replace the functions of Palm.
Ideally, I would love to continue to use Palm Desktop as I'm using it on this desktop, but I'm  not clear if I can.  If I can't, what might be my best solution given what I wrote.  I'd really appreciate it.
    Thanks,
    Trudijane

  • Can't get ical to sync in Snow Leopard

I have three computers, an older imac with Leopard, a Macbook with leopard and a 27" imac with snow leopard. I have problems getting the 27" to sync the calendar.
Evidently, it worked when I got the 27" last week but has stopped. I tried a reset from the cloud and it does not work. I did resets on the macbook and the older imac and they both worked.
I used migration assistant to transfer my files from the older imac to the 27" which probably was after I first synced the 27". Perhaps some files got overwritten with Leopard preferences, but I don't know what to delete to allow it to get back to a state that will allow syncs.
    Need Help.
    Thanks,
    Shannon

    Shannon,
Go to MobileMe Support and select the appropriate country/language, choose "Syncing with MobileMe," select "Troubleshooting MobileMe Sync issues," and then select "Chat Now."

  • One mac with lion one with snow leopard

If I transfer my mobileme to icloud on my desktop mac running lion, but my laptop only has snow leopard, will they still be able to sync as they did with mobileme?

The last iPhoto version you can run with Snow Leopard is iPhoto 9.2.4, and Yosemite needs iPhoto 9.6.
Move your photos to your Yosemite partition, if you want to use iPhoto with Photo Streams and other iCloud features.
As you are asking about Lion, you can run iPhoto iPhoto 9.2.3 or iPhoto 9.2.4 both with Lion and SnowLeopard, but there is no iPhoto version, that runs both on Yosemite and Snow Leopard, or Lion and Yosemite.

  • Can iCloud be used with snow leopard on a Mac if you have an ipad2?

Can iCloud be used with a Mac that has been upgraded to it's full capacity with snow leopard if you are using it with an ipad2 and iPhone 4 ( with upgraded system)?

If you have joined iCloud on your iPad, this will be the situation on your Snow Leopard Mac:
You will be able to access email, calendar and contacts on the iCloud website at http://icloud.com provided your browser is reasonably up-to-date.
You will not be able to sync contacts or bookmarks from a pre-Lion Mac.
You will be able to enter the server settings for email manually in the Mail application and access your email. A pictorial instruction page on doing this is here.
You will not be able to sync your calendars directly.
Some people have been able to set up calendar syncing by using the method detailed here - this is an unsupported hack and may not be reliable, and may stop working at some future point. BusyCal is an iCal-like calendar application with extra facilities: it can sync with the iCloud Calendar while running on Leopard, Snow Leopard or Lion.
There appears to be no method of syncing contacts (though Address Book on a Mac can be synced with Google or Yahoo address books - I don't know how reliable this is)

  • HP 1312nfi Multi-funtion printer & brand new Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard

    Hi,
I just got my Macbook Pro with Snow Leopard May 2010. I can only print and fax with my 1 year old HP 1312nfi color laserjet multi-function printer. I cannot SCAN at all. I tried loading the software that came with the printer but it wouldn't install the 'Print Director' as I had on my old iMac (with Leopard). Then I went to HP and it said not to install the software that came with the HP printer because Snow Leopard has it all. I read that there are 3 ways to scan from my computer which none of them work. I brought up the printer then clicked printer setup and when I try to bring up the 'print utility' from the last tab, it won't open anything. Where is the printer utility now? Why can't I scan? There has to be a way. HELP please?

Found the answer on the HP site. It's the original software that works with this printer OS X 10.6!!
