Sync with web gallery

When first setting up my web gallery, I accidently imported an incorrectly named folder with pictures that I didn't want public. I removed the file on iphoto, however it still exists on the webgallery and I am unable to edit it. Ultimatly I would like to delete it. Can anyone tell me how?

Go into iPhoto's preferences/Web Gallery section, click on the web gallery in the window and click on the Stop Publishing button. Then recreate the gallery and republish.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

Syncing with web gallery

Hey,
I was wondering if there is anyway to turn off syncing. I want to delete an "event", but i want to keep the album on my web gallery (.mac). If i delete my "Event" will it also delete my album on .mac ???
Is it possible to transfer photo albums to another mac and have the web gallery sync with my other mac? Or do I need to delete everything, and re-upload everything?

Back Up and try try rebuilding the database. Hold down the apple and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild.

IPhone sync with Web Gallery

I have been sending photos, taken with my iPhone, to a .Mac Web Gallery.
When I view info for a photo, it has very little information attached to to it; height, width, name, size and import date. Is there a way to make it so iPhone can attach more information, like the date, and possibly the camera make, model and software?
I would think that Apple would want to have people know that the iPhone took the photo by inserting that into the photo info.

What you see - the information provided with the photo upload to a Web Gallery is what you get.
I may be unique but rarely am I interested in such information nor look nor do any of my family and friends that view my Web Galleries but you can provide Apple feedback here.

Dreamweaver Templates with Web Gallery

I have built a site in dreamweaver CS4 I have used a Dreamweaver Template for my pages. Rather than clog my pages up with images I used Adobe Bridge to create a web gallery, It created a gallery ok and I saved it to my hard drive. It created two items, a resourses folder and an "index" file. So I I copied and pasted the two items into my Dreamweaver folder I created and called SS_Bridge. I pointed a link I created to point to the "index" file within the SS_Bridge Folder in Dreamweaver, Will this create a problem as there will be two "Index" files within my site

The "home" page index file would be at the root level of the site. Other folders within the root can all have their own index (default) files.

Problem with Web Gallery (firewall issue??)

I have the following problem:
When I upload a webgallery from my office, everything works fine.
When I try the same thing from home, it doesn't work. I get a can't connect to .mac error.
What I also found out:
Looking at my .mac preferences from the system preferences panel works at home and at the office.
Looking at the web gallery tab under preferences in iphoto works ONLY at the office. At home I get a time out eventually.
Anyone have an idea? I do have a rather transparent network on both places.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Try deleting the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, from your User/Library/Preferences folder on you home computer. Then try again.

Sync with web version. Major bug!

Get the alert that changes have been made to the web version.
No changes were made (to my knowledge) as I haven't set up IBE with this site.
I figure muse is trying to therefore sync my comp version with the web version. This I don't want because the web version is not up to date.
However I'm curious to see what changes were made so I try the review process and it zips right thru and merges my comp version with the older version on the web.
Ugh, just what you don't want with a site that's created like a finely balanced deck of cards.
So now I'm left with an old .muse file that doesn't match the current exported html files, etc.
Would be great if muse could open html files, but we know it can't so I guess I've lost a couple of weeks hard work.
I've seen the posts about invalid html breaking the sync process. I do have a number of embedded js files and a quite a few widgets, the later being all muse (including add-ons).
The point is no IBE was set up for this site so I shouldn't have gotten the message to begin with.
Correct?
Any help would be appreciated.
Downloading the MuseLogPrefs.xml provided in previous threads only results in the same botched skipping of the the review process
and continues the unwanted sync.

VZ Navigator won't sync with web.

I am trying to sync my LG Dare's Navigator app with the web. When I try to do it through the phone I get the message "COULD NOT PROCESS YOUR REQUEST. PLEASE TRY AGAIN. [4399]. I get a similar message when I try to sync the phone by accessing the internet based VZNAVIGATOR.COM from my pc and sending the sync signal that way. The phone acts like it wants to sync, but I end up getting that message over and over. Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated.

IPhoto not syncing with MobileMe Gallery

I took a lot of pictures this past weekend and for the past three days have been trying to get them on my MobileMe Gallery. Every time I try to publish, it starts going - looks like normal - and then an error pops up saying something about not being able to access or publish to the server or something. It is dirivng me crazy! In some cases, half an event will publish and in some cases, no pictures in an event will publish at all. I am using the latest version of leopard, and the latest version of iPhoto. I have a full .mac / MobileMe account and it has plenty of available space. Can anyone help me? I have pictures of my friends' baby that she wants to see and I can't show her..

This fix was for another issue, emails, but has help iWeb users in getting published to MMe. A long shot but might work for you:

After waiting a day for the rolling restore to happen, I called AppleCare because Apple had sent an email saying my service was back, and it wasn't. I still could send and not receive using Mail.
Here is what fixed it. *Go to MobileMe (terrible name) in System Preferences, log out. Then enter a garbage name and password and try to log in. This apparently clears the MobileMe preferences. Then enter your real UserName and PassWord.* For me this was lights on.
I am left wondering how long ago I could have had email had I known this preference reset scheme.

Events duplicating on web gallery!

G'day people
I've created a whole lot of events in iPhoto '08 and exported them to the my web gallery; so far so good.
Last night I added more photos to one of my events and, after iPhoto synchronised with web gallery, I see that I now how two events on web gallery with the same name. One of the web gallery events has the new photos!
Any idea how they can be merged in web gallery? They are all on one event in iPhoto. I didclick the little circle to get iPhoto to synchorise again but it made no difference.

Do you use MobileMe?
What would be helpful in the setup instructions for MobileMe but are not.
If you are syncing over the air with Mobile Me then DO NOT sync via the cable with Address Book (Outlook or Windows Contacts on PC). This causes duplicates. You are telling the iPhone to bring what is in those programs to the iPhone (one copy). Then you are syncing from the cloud (Mobile Me copy two).
The iPhone will do exactly as you tell it to do.
The easiest way to remove duplicates.
1. On the info tab in iTunes uncheck sync contact and sync calendars.
2. On the iPhone>settings>mail contacts calendars>ME account>slide to off contacts and calendars.
3. Log into Me.com and look at contacts and calendars and make sure there are no duplicates.
4. On the iPhone>settings>mail contacts calendars>ME account> slide to on contacts and calendars. When prompted choose to Replace with info from Me.com

Question: How to edit and/or delete photos uploaded to web gallery?

My Dad uploaded some photos to my web gallery without renaming the photos. Is there any way I can go in and edit and/or delete these photos? Sorry if it's a dumb question... I'm new to iLife '08 (really new to iLife in general)... and for the life of me can't figure out how to edit and/or delete these photos (without deleting the whole library).

Guess I just answered my own question.
For anybody else that may be wondering...
From within iPhoto there is a "WEB GALLERY" tab in the left side menu. There you will see the name of your web gallery with a little icon that looks like an antenna. If you click on that icon... it will sync your web gallery photos that have been uploaded by other users into iPhoto. You can then edit and/or delete the photos within iPhoto and the edits will automatically change on the published web gallery (may depend on sync preferences... mine changed automatically).

After creating Adobe Web Gallery in DW Images do not show.

total pages, 2 have small Adobe Web Galleries I created in Bridge, they both work in Live View and also work when I Preview in Browser, but when I upload to my web site... the 4 pages load but the 2 with Web Gallery load without the images ??? I checked the folders and all are in the proper places ??? Has anyone had a similar problem ??? Any help would be apppreciated THANKS. Pat

Displaying note in Web Gallery?

Is there a way to display the notes I've entered for photos in my Web Gallery? It appears the only option is to display the titles of photos. I know the user can flip over the photo in WG to see the note, but I would like them to appear below the photos as captions.
If this is not possible with Web Gallery, is there an alternative services (like Flickr) that could do this?

There's an AppleScript that will copy the Descriptions into the Title field of photos in iPhoto. That way you can get the descriptions into the web gallery. You can get the script here: http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20070822121100394&query=applescript %2Btitle.
Be sure to read the comments about deleting the Å character from the script. It's a error introduced in the posting of the script. It works quite well.

Where is the display filenames option in web gallery export?

adobe bridge CS4, as i'm understanding this feature went away in later versions.
Just trying to export a web gallery that will include the file name beneath of it.
I thought the feature was non-existnant so I have spent a couple hunded bucks and about two years trying third party options, I prefer that the web gallery export look exactly like bridge.
in reading through these forums again, i see mention of to simply check "Show File Names" when I create a Web Gallery.
I cannot find this option anywhere.
just want to have web gallery with the names of the files beneath the images, if it were searchable, and could be organized by alpha-numerical order just like bridge, that would be what I wish.

In CS6 it is still there, only under the Template 'HTML Gallery'
Don't have experience myself with Web Gallery so no idea if this has changed but believe it has always been this way, maybe they changed the order of the templates?

How to add Web Gallery in Bridge CS5

I am creating a photo album with web gallery in Bridge CS5. I find out that Is it possible to enable vertical scroll in to the portrait pictures? Usually portrait pictures are too small when they are diminish to the screen. Here is an example of an portrait with vertical scroll, and I think they work better that way. Or what do you think?
Is it possible to find third party template to Bridge CS5 web gallery software that has scrollable slide area? Or is it possible to make couple of modifications to the basic templates?

Syncing messes up gallery

How is it possible that the Aperture 3 MobileMe library section when it starts syncing with the Gallery suddenly removes several pictures from a gallery album and replaces them with several copies of one and the same other picture?
I had made some adjustments to some pictures which I had uploaded to the Gallery from Aperture a few days before, but today it started syncing and messed the gallery album up. I've seen now that the syncing goes from gallery to aperture and not the other way. But why does this have to ruin the gallery album?
I deleted the MobileMe files from the Aperture library.
Is there no way to sync from Aperture to MobileMe or do you have to replace the adjusted pictures from the Aperture library in the gallery album?

No, not at all.
On one full sync (iPod Video 5G) all artists under "A" had the same album art, from a Hedley album.
On another sync (iPod Touch 1G) album art was scattered all over, different artists (with no particular trend) had incorrect album art.
In both cases, iTunes shows the correct album art for everything...
