Synced contacts with PC and shouldnt have - how to remove

I recetnly synced on my PC and had the sync contacts with outlook checked, and should not have. Now my iPhone shows a group of contacts titled "On my PC" above the group now labeled "On MobileMe". MobileMe is my contacts and calendar that i sync with. Is there a way to remove this group "On My PC" from my iphone?

OK, first you're on the Windows forum so we can't really help you with a Mac.
Second save the backup, wipe, and start over is the correction and it's a pain.
Even if you have to do it one entry at a time you can get it all back.

Syncing contacts with Facebook and contact visualization in dialer

Hi,
I have spent a lot of time trying to sync and consolidate my contacts from Google and Facebook. I did have a couple of issues however and I am looking for advise.
1) Contact photo from Facebook are very low res and blurry.
- Xperia with Facebook account has the both contact & calrendar sync checked, and sync has completed, but no photos are synched.
- Facebook account has retreived the photo from Facebook, but it is extremely low-res and very blurry.
2) Is there a way - after linking a google contact to a Facebook one to quickly copy or merge (selected) Facebook contact details (like photo, birthday, phone number, email or address) into the Google contact.
3) Once I select a phone number as primary is there a way to see in the dialer (using T9 search) only the default phone number. Currenlty I may see a mobile phone from Facebook, another mobile phone from Google, and maybe a couple of other phones, and everytime I search for this contact directly in the dialer I need to remember and choose which number to dial.
So far the only resolution seems to be to switch back to exDialer, which would be a shame since this is my only complaint from the Xperia dialer.
4) Is there a way to backup the link between the google and facebook contacts? Is there a way to backup which phone number, email or address is default? Both of these are not preserved in google contacts, so everytime I reset or change phones I need to start all over.
I am looking for your advice and best practices and thank you in advance!!

OK, so after spending some time for research here are my findings:
1) Synching contact pics from Facebook to Android contacts: Facebook and Xperia with Facebook accounts do not work. As a workaround I have used Contacts+ application from the Google Play store, it works as expected.
2) Merging Facebook contact info (pic, phone number, email, birthday) to google contacts - have not found a way to automate or, best, semi-automate this just yet. Easiest manual option - view a contact, long press the phone/email/birthday, then edit the contact and paste. Will not work for the contact pic though.
3) Show a single record for the contact in the dialer and remember the default phone - Xperia dialer cannot do this, Contacts+ and exDialer can be used as a replacement though.
4) Backup the Google to Facebook link & the default selection for phone number, email, address in case of a hard reset or transfer between phones - no complete solution found yet, need to review more contact backup apps. At least one can edit the names of the google contacts so that they are spelled as in Facebook to make a future matches quick & more fluent.

Can I sync Treo650 with AddressBook and iCal? How?

I've been an avid user of Missing Sync for many years and versions of both it and the Mac. Now, I get nothing but horrendous problems with Missing Sync version 6 just released... so I thought I'd try just not using it and instead using an Apple app to do it - iSync - but I'm loathe to go 'trying' iSync when my databases might be at risk of corruption or failure.
Can anyone give me some simple steps to use just iSync to sync Apple AddressBook and iCal with my Treo650? And are there likely to be issues I should watch out for in the migration from Missing Sync to iSync?

thanks for that. You're right - it does seem a little crazy to go backwards. But I've contacted Mark/Space about the issues SO many times without long term success (works once then fouls up thereafter) that it has become too tedious. Also, I just can't afford the time it has taken to attempt all their suggested fixes which have taken literally hours to complete several times over (plus taking days to get somewhere via their email-support system). A couple of days ago I attempted 3 syncs (all but one unsuccessful) which in total took 8.25 hours... which is unacceptable downtime for me, my phone and, to some extent, my computer.
I think I'll try the iSync option you've outlined - it just might be simpler. Much appreciated.

Can't sync contacts with Viber and whatsapp

Hi I have a iPhone 5S running 7.1.1 latest iOS.
Since this update whatsapp can't sync to my contacts and when I installed Viber I'm getting the same issue. These apps simply just sit trying to sync or load contacts.
Privacy is turned on for both apps and there are no restriction on the phone.
I have iCloud, exchange and gmail contacts on but have tried turning off gmail and exchange. Followed by uninstalled both apps and reinstalled Viber still no resolution.
At one stage I did a complete restore of the phone.
Is there a know issue with these apps and / or can you advise of any solution. I have also raised a case on Viber.

Also tried turning off Wifi as discussed in a different tread and this did not solve the problem. I managed to load Viber on to my iPad2 also running 7.1.1 and this worked.

You are probably trying to use old Sync with Firefox newer than version 29,
and they did make old Sync unusable on fresh installations of newer Firefox.
You can uninstall that newer Firefox, then install Firefox 29 from here:

Apply your sync key code, then update that installation to current Firefox,
then migrate to new Sync:

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.

The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The only exception is itunes purchases. File>Transfer Purchases
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to move everything to your new computer.

click on the contact which you want to integrate, click the edit button scroll down u will find a option called link contacts use it to link it to the duplicate contact

There is no Info tab in Mavericks

How do I stop Google from attempting to sync contacts with my iMac?

Hey folks, i'm new to Mac and keep getting this annoying sync notice that if I allow Google Contants to sync it will change pretty much all my contacts. First off, I'm not really sure what contacts it's trying to sync with. Is it trying to sync with my iCloud contacts? i don't think i have any contact info saved on my hard disk. Second, i have searched the discussion threads about this topic and see posts saying i need to go to Address Book > Preferences > and uncheck Google Sync....but the only Address Book i am aware of is the app labeled "Contacts" which holds everything from my iCloud account. Is Address Book a separate app/database?

I don't know if this helps much, but Address Book was basically the same application in a previous version of the Mac OS. Folks still seem to use the terms interchangably though. Similarly, Calendar used to be "iCal."
I believe syncing contacts with Google or iCloud is an either/or proposition - you can't do both. When you sync with either, a copy is saved to your Mac for faster access (like a web browser's cache). I believe there's still an option to save contacts exclusively to your Mac (HD), but I don't think it's either preferred or occurs by default if you have an account such as Gmail/google or iCloud already set up.
I've never played with preferences in Contacts (Address Book), but I do have both google and iCloud accounts associated with my Mac. Under System Preferences:Mail, Contacts & Calendars, you can specify what accounts do on your Mac. If you have multiple accounts set up, a list will appear on the left side. As you select each one, a list of check boxes appear to the right for each service you want to associate with that account. For example, I have an iCloud account for mail, calendars, contacts, and Safari (among others). I have a Gmail account for mail, although it gives me the option of using this account for calendars, etc. For Gmail, the only item I have checked is mail. It's never asked me if I wanted to sync my addresses with Google.
I hope this helps... at least a little. If nothing else, I hope I've solved the "Address Book" mystery ;-)

You should have been sycning them with your computer all along. Sync them from your computer back to the iphone.
