Synced music, but not all is on my iPod? Help?

I had an iPod touch 3, but I just got the iPod touch 5. I synced all of the music that I had on my previous iPod to the new one, but when I synced it, a little box popped up saying "Some of the items in the iTunes library could not be synced because they could not be found." Even though I don't have most of my music on the new iPod, it's all still in my iTunes library and on the old iPod.
Please help?! Thanks!

i want to add music to my new ipod nano but i don't want to sync all the music onto the nano from my mac. how do i transfer some of the music but not all? thank you.

    Hello,
It is 2015 and iTunes still wants to tell me what to listen to. This problem still persists. The only solution I have found is to select "Manual ..." and pick one by one the items to sync.
When I select items to sync by artist or genre they do copy to the device. Then iTunes continues randomly selecting music until the device is full. When I want to load the Nano for a road trip I don't want 20% of the tracks to be Chakra meditation. When little Nano is docked on the nightstand alarm clock I DON'T want to hear Motorhead, Ministry, etc.
For all the effort aPple puts into seamless integration and ease of use ... Why the heck is it so hard to say NO? Sync these tracks and NOT those. Stop asking me to log in to your cloud service BTW. I do not want it.
    Thanks,

  • I reset my computer and ipod and it says that my ipod is syncing music but when I look on my ipod touch there is no music there.

I reset my computer and ipod and it says that my ipod is syncing music but when I look on my ipod touch there is no music there. How can i fix it? I have backed up and restored my ipod touch 4th gen several times.

This came from another thread, but worked for me.  Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62.  Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update).  Reboot, and reinstall iTunes.  It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano.  Good luck.

The "restore disk" is built into the Mac. See About Recovery.
Need more specifics about what error messages you got while installing Adobe Flash.
However, you can almost avoid Flash altogether by setting YouTube to play the HTML5 version instead.
Click the Try something new! link at the bottom of the YouTube page.
I don't know about the sound issue. Might be hardware as you think. Try other headphones to check.

The send buttin is greyed out when I try to text some but not all people from my iPod Touch. This happens even when they have iPhone 4s. Any ideas why and how I can fix this?

This issue can be caused by the McAfee SiteAdvisor extension.
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

  • Can sync some of my music but not all of it

Ever since I updated to iOS 7, whenever I try to sync my iPhone 5s with my MacBook, some of the songs will go onto my phone, but not all of them.  In iTunes under the "On this iPhone" tab, it shows all my music, but the majority of the songs are greyed out with a circle next to them.  I have no problem syncing my iPods and iPad, all my music shows up and plays on them.  I restored my phone and my phone and iTunes are both updated, but that didn't help.  Any ideas about what's causing this and how to fix it?

Un-sync all your music to remove it from the device, then restart (hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until you see the apple, then let go). Now re-sync your music.

  • I have a 4th Gen. iPod touch and it won't sync all my music. It syncs most but not all. How do I fix this?

I connect my ipod and it syncs and goes to add the music but it won't finish adding everything. It stops with like 20 songs left and when I click sync so it will add the others it does the four step process thing for connecting and then doesn't do anything.

If it plays in iTunes on the computer then delete from iPod and sync to iPod
Also try deleting and redownloading by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • All music, but not all playlists

I use my iPod in my car through a cable hooked directly to the stereo. I can then control the iPod with the stereo. On iTunes, I have created playlists for 3 other members of my family, so when their iPods are hooked up, they only download their playlist (their music). Well, I only want my playlists on my iPod not theirs. How can I go about doing this?
    Thanks

In reference to the suggestion that you just sync selected playlists you answered: "I tried this, but this removed all of my music except for my playlists. I still want all the music on my iTunes, but I do not want their playlists to show up."
From this, I'm guessing that not all the music in your iTunes catalog appears in a playlist. When you sync selected playlists only, you only sync the music that appears in those playlists. So the quick fix is to create a smartlist that will include all the music in your catalog and add that to your iPod's list of playlists. (It doesn't have to be a smartlist but if you create a smartlist based on Date Added is after and make the date like 5 years ago and make it a live update smartlist then everytime you add another song it will be automatically added to the list and then synced to your iPod.

  • Does anyone know why my i pod will sync music but not pod casts or audio book (it used to)

does anyone know why my i pod will no longer sync podcasts or audio books when i still have memory left and it will sync music still???

Both Podcasts and audiobooks are synced using a separate tick box from the music. So, connect your iPod to iTunes and check the Device/Podcasts (and Books for the audiobooks) and make sure that the relevant box is ticked to enable syncing.
If you need to change the setting (that is, if you need to put the tick back on), you should perform a sync afterwards to make sure the change has been updated onto the iPod.

  • Sync multiple (but not all) photo folders?

I've got a new 4G Touch and I am trying to figure out how to sync multiple folders containing pics to the iPod, preserving the folder structure on the PC to the Album structure on the iPod. My device allows the following:
    1) Sync all photos from Photoshop - no ability to select folders/albums, it's grayed out. It will sync as many photos as it can fit on the device, leaving 1G avail.
    2) Sync a single folder from my PC- it won't allow me to select the whole library or parts of it as in 1) above.
The ends result is I have my camera roll, and then 1 huge library with 12,000 pic that I can only scroll through top to bottom. Useless for anything other than a slideshow.
How can I select multiple folders, say all my photos from 2010, and preserve the file structure on the iPod? It seems I should be able to have more than 1 album on the device.
Perhaps it has to do with how the files are set up in Photoshop? And why the link to photoshop? Sure would be nice to also sync with Picasa (ha, ha).
Any ideas out there? I searched on this issue and see that it was a question on previous generations, but have not found the solution.

I figured out the answer. Holding down the command key and clicking seemed to make it select all the events. I'm not sure exactly how I got that to work, but messing with it for a minute should make all the events selected.

  • I updated my iPod Touch to 6.0.1. after much prompting. Now my music is gone! (along with apps, photos and podcasts). After syncing a bunch of times some of it came back, but not all of it. How odd is that? How can I get my music back on it??

I updated my iPod Touch to 6.0.1. -- after much prompting from iTunes. Now my music is GONE (along with apps, photos and podcasts). After syncing a bunch of times some of it came back, but not all of it. How odd is that? How can I get my music back?? I'm really bummed! Everything shows in iTunes, but it's not synching right. So glad I updated. NOT.

Go to iTunea>Preferences>Devices and see if there is a backupright at the time you did the update. Then try restoring from that backup. If the apps are in your iTunes library, any app data will be restored to the iPod.
When restoring from an iOS 4 (or later) backup, if the device had a passcode set, iTunes will ask if you want to set a passcode (and remind you that you had protected your device with a passcode). iTunes will not ask you to set a passcode when restoring from iOS 3.x and prior backups.
Therefore, remembe the passcode that you enter this time.
It appears that if you restore from a backup, that backup is not subseqyently overwritten by the next backup.

Provided the music plays in iTunes on the computer
    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync/delete all music and resync
To delete all music go to Settings>General>Usage>Storage>Music>Tap edit in upper right and then tap the minus sign by All Music
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:

That really does not work since music is not included in the backup.  See:

The sync is one way - computer to ipod.  The only exception is itunes purchases.
The ipod is not a backup device.
You need to copy everything back using your backup copy.
