Synch Computer to Ipod

I spent a couple of weeks at a friend's house, and while there I reorganized my iPod Touch with new and revised playlists, along with adding and deleting songs. In other words, a major reorganization.
Now I'm back home, and what I'd like to do is synch my iMac to my ipod! Is there a way to do that? Thanks!

If you manually do it, you can put as many song as you want. For example- you can go to your friends house and put his music on your Ipod and then come back to your computer and manually put them in. Now you have His and your music.
But if I remember the Ipod can only be in one format. (" What do you mean?") I mean if you look at your ipod settings you will see the format of the ipod. (this was on the old one, not sure on the new) and it had Format: (windows) or (Mac)
If you sync your Ipod from a PC to a Mac I will reformat the Hole thing so it only works on mac. But then again I am not sure about. I have heard from 2 people, That I trust.
Anyways Good luck hope it helps

  • Problem when synching computer to ipod

I have been using Itunes with my ipod nano for over a year. I download songs and have no problems. When I connect to sync it is not recognizing the ipod and then gets an error message. I have followed all of the ipod troubleshooting steps and have deleted and reinstalled itunes and am still experiencing the same issue.

That doesn’t to be the problem. When I connect the ipod to the computer it says "Itunes has detected an ipod that appears to be corrupted. You may need to restore the ipod before it can be used with itunes. You may also try disconnecting and reconnecting again." I disconnected and reconnected many times, I have restarted, check for updates, and finally restored my ipod. It has deleted everything off of my ipod then I get a do not disconnect message that never goes away. What should I do please advise?

  • Media on computer is not synching onto the ipod

Previously downloaded music on my computer shows up in the ITUNES Library but does not synch onto my IPOD Touch.
Recently downloaded the newest version of ITunes on my Windows 8 Ultrabook (ACER) 64 bit.
Copied my music from my backup drive after ITUNES install wiped my IPOD clean.
Now, my IPOD won't synch and pickup my music from my computer.

  • My old computer crashed and deleted my iTunes media file with all my playlist. However, my iPod has the playlist I lost on the computer. How can I replace (reverse synch?) my iPod media information back onto my (now reinstalled) virgin iTunes media folder

My old computer crashed and deleted my iTunes media file with all my playlist. However, my iPod has the playlist I lost on the computer. How can I replace (reverse synch?) my iPod media information back onto my (now reinstalled) virgin iTunes media folder?

Yes it's possible to sync music back from a iPod back into iTunes that (I assume) wasn't purchased on the iTunes Store.
Apple allows iTunes Store purchases on devices to be reversed back into iTunes, just not cd rips and stuff like that. For that it's a one way trip to the device from iTunes.
I likely can't suggest such software here, but if you visit iLounge you can ask what is the latest software that works for your platform.
Really it only takes a mere few minutes to backup your iTunes Library and stick in a few cd/dvd's or a external drive. iTunes even has a menu command for it to make it oh so simple. Please use it and backup all your data.
Hard drives fail, computers burn up, thieves steal, stuff gets forgotten. Plan for something happening because it will.
    Good Luck

  • I have moved my itunes library to a new PC.  All but approximately 100-150 songs will synch to my ipod.  It says "not authorized" but when I authorize it, it says "already authorized"?  I thought possibly they were DRM files, but I can't tell?

Any ideas how to get all my songs synched on the ipod?  They are in my itunes library on the new PC.

    Hi kellmack,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I recommend the steps in this article if iTunes prompts you to authorize your PC to play some purchases after you've already authorized it:

  • How do you restore music when computer and iPod both die and get replaced?

My computer crashed, so I backed up music to an exterior hard drive, and they had to gut the computer and rebuild it. Same day, my iPod died. I recycled it and got a new one. So now that my computer is rebuilt, I can't download the sogns from my iPod. The back up hard drive then broke down. The tech is trying to fix that. Once he does, what is the best way to transfer my music back to my itunes account so I can synch my new iPod?

I have a follow up question to this:
My computer also crashed and when a tech restored it, my iTunes backed to 2007. My Ipod is apparently passed warranty and has 60g worth of music! Is there any way to retransfer what's on my ipod back onto my itunes? When I tried to resync my ipod to itunes it wanted to wipe my entire ipod as if it didn't recognize it. Tech support kept asking for my ipod number when this is a itunes problem. What can I do or where can I go for help?

  • Can I change my "normal" synching computer to a different computer with the iPad 2?

I want to use my home computer as my regular synching computer with my iPad.  I set up my iPad on my work computer.  I have my iPod synching on my home computer too. Can I have both devices use my home computer as their normal synching computers?  I get this threatening message (because it is not the normal synching computer) when I try to update to iOS 5 with my iPad on my home computer.

We have itunes music on a computer, an ipod nano, and a new ipod touch under two different accounts. How can we combine the music from both accounts to one device?

There is no "adding" a device.  Simply plug the iDevice into the computer.  iTunes should automatically detect the device when it is connected.
iTunes can sync/manage as many iDevices as you want... there is no 1 device limit.

You did install the latest iTunes (10.5) right?  If the problem was that iTunes does not see the iPod try:
iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    or
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X

  • ITunes 10.6.3.25 NOT synching Music from iPod Classic after 6/1/12 date

I just installed iTunes 10.6.3.25 for Windows after I was notified for the Update. I had already started synch of my iPod Clasic with iTunes when I was notified of this newly available update. So I downloaded and had it installed. But, after the installation was complete, it did not start up the latest version of the iTunes (normally it did in thepast). So, I started the new version of the iTunes. Now, iTunes does not synch any of the songs I had played after June 1, 2012!
I have restarted iTunes twice but still the songs I have played since after June 1, including the songs I played in my iPod this morning (June 12, 2012), just don'e show up in ITunes under the "LAST PLAYED" column. The last Date  in this column is 6/1/2012!
I am running Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit OS.
I'd appreciate any ideas as to what's wrong and what I can do to fic the problem. May be there is a bug of some kind with this new latest version!  Is there a way I can go back to a previous version?
    Thank you so much.

Is there anyone that can verify they're having this same issue? I called Apple to report the 'glitch' but I'm looking for any others with the same challenge and whether or not you've found a work around.
Again--I rely heavily on iTunes for business. We use it constantly for live performances...both on it's own and it's integration with Traktor, Serato and DJay
    Thanks Everyone!

  • I reset my computer and ipod and it says that my ipod is syncing music but when I look on my ipod touch there is no music there.

I reset my computer and ipod and it says that my ipod is syncing music but when I look on my ipod touch there is no music there. How can i fix it? I have backed up and restored my ipod touch 4th gen several times.

This came from another thread, but worked for me.  Problem is with newest iTunes 4.62.  Unistall iTunes, as well as its helper programs (Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, and Apple Software Update).  Reboot, and reinstall iTunes.  It will reinstall all the other ones and you should be able to connect your nano.  Good luck.

  • My new macbook air is not synching with my iPod classic anymore

any ideas on why my new macbook air is not synching with my iPod classic anymore?  It used to just show up on iTunes but it's not there now

iTunes will only transfer music from the iPhone that were bought at Apple's iTunes store. You'll need to use a third party program such as Senuti to transfer music you got from other sources.
