Synch iCal To-Do's to my 2G iTouch?

I can synch all my iCal appointments from my MacBook to my iTouch however but I can't find a way to also synch my To-dos from iCal to the iTouch. I know there's a 3rd party app that does this but I can't believe Apple would overlook this basic need so I assume it's a user issue on my part. Any help would be appreciated.

Unfortunately apple have overlooked this basic need on the itouch and it is the same for the iphone also. There is no way to sync the todo from ical to either of these. The only way is to purchase a thirdparty called TODO it works well and syncs good. <http://www.appigo.com/>
I have tried everything with apple to get them to put this feature into ical. However as yet I have made no progress on the issue. It is a pain to have to use two apps to do todos!

  • Can, and if so, how do you synch iCal with your Google calendar?

Am trying to synch my iCal information with Google Calendar.  I can find information to get Google info into iCal but not synching iCal information with into Google.

You can sync to one computer at a time.
When you sync to another it will delete the current content and replace with content from the new computer.
That would have nothing to do with it it not recognizing the device.

If you haven't tried already, plug your devices into iTunes, and on each device next to the "Summary" tab at the top is another tab called "Info." Click that and scroll down to Contacts, Calendars, etc. There should be a pull down bar under each category for "Sync contacts from..." and you should be able to select from that pull down list Outlook.  Hit Apply at the bottom and see if that does it.

  • Family sharing iCloud ID to synch iCal&Address Book, but do not want to share email.

    Hello,
I have both mine and my wife’s iphone paired to my icloud account so we can share/synch our Address Book, iCal, Find my iPhone, etc.  Plus, we share my iTunes account, though that is under a different Apple ID.
My email address is not in her mail folder, however she gets my mail  in her ‘All Inboxes’.
How do I stop this, yet still share my iCloud features (family plan - type)?
    Thx - Erik
    <Email Edited by Host>

Firstly, I've asked the hosts to edit your email from your post, it's not a good idea to post it in the open it will attract unwanted mail.
If your wife simply doesn't want your email she can turn off mail syncing in her iCloud settings.
If she wants her own me address she should have her own iCloud account, you could then add each others iCloud to your own a s a secondary account and just turn on the sync services you want.

  • All day events  - synching ical with Symbian S60

I guess this must have come up before.....
I cannot find a way of synching all-day events on iCal with my E90. iSync will not sync iCal all-day events across to the E90, just seems to ignore them. I thought I'd be clever and enter all-days as memos on the E90. Fine when it syncs to iCal - they come across OK as all-days in iCal but, when I sync again, the memos get deleted from the E90. Most strange.

I have the same issue on all day events synced from Exchange. The items look fine in the day or month view.

  • Synching iCal with iPhone

Aargh! I am having a difficult time of this. I have changed calendars in iCal and want to update iPhones. When I go into the iPhone I see "All on My iPhone" and "MobileMe" calendars. The MobileMe calendars do not include subscriptions. I am hoping to see the holidays (trust me, I need to see the holidays I just tried to convince a contractor to show up to work on Saturday not realizing it was July 4th). Anyway, at first look I see the old calendars on the iPhone under the All on my... section. How do I get rid of them and why are they there. Isn't MobileMe synching everything? They are set up to synch with MobileMe.
I'll post in the other forum but thought I would mention that I am having a similar issue with Address Book. Right now every contact is doubled on the iPhone. I started deleting duplicates but found I was deleting them from MobileMe and my workstation. Aargh!

    Donald,
Open "Settings" on the iPhone>Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Bookmarks>Accounts>your MobileMe account and turn off the Calendar, when prompted delete data, wait two minutes turn Calendar back on, and when asked merge the data. Wait patiently, and hopefully you will be able to regain sync functions. If you are able, I recommend using a Wi-Fi connection to make the change.
Use the same procedure for Address Book Contacts.
I got this information from goodtwin315 in this thread.

  • Synching ical with coworker ical

Looking to synch my ical with my business partners. Help Please

    Hey DorseyHolme,
Check out the following instructions, they'll go through how to use iCal with your business partners by publishing and subscribing:
Mac Basics: iCal (OS X Lion and earlier)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht2513
    Publish your calendar
To make your calendar available to others, choose Publish from the Calendar menu. In the resulting dialog, type a name for your calendar in the top field, choose to publish it on your own server from the "Publish on" pop-up menu, select any of the other options you want, and then click Publish.
When iCal finishes publishing, a dialog opens and displays the URL for your calendar—be sure to write this information down.
    Subscribe to other calendars
You can use iCal to subscribe to someone's published calendar, such as a family member, your work team, or a publicly available iCal schedule.
If you have an iCloud account set up in iCal, you can choose to add the subscribed calendar to that account. You can then view the subscribed calendar in iCal as well as in the Calendar app on your iOS 5 or later devices that have been configured for iCloud. This works without having to resubscribe to the calendar.
In iCal, choose Calendar > Subscribe.
Enter the web address for the calendar you want to subscribe to, and then click Subscribe.
Type a name for the calendar in the Name field and choose a calendar color from the adjacent pop-up menu.
If you have an iCloud account, choose whether you want the calendar to be located only on your Mac or on your iCloud account. If you want to view a subscription calendar in iCal and in the Calendar app on devices with iOS 5 or later without resubscribing to the calendar, choose your iCloud account.
If you want to receive any reminders or attachments, or hear any alarms associated with the calendar, deselect the appropriate Remove checkboxes.
If you want iCal to update your copy of this calendar when changes to it are published on the Internet, choose the update frequency from the “Auto- refresh” pop-up menu.
    Click OK.
The calendar you subscribed to appears in your Calendars pop-up list under the heading "Subscriptions." To make changes to the calendar, click Calendars, select the calendar, and then choose Edit > Get Info.Notes
Subscriptions that you manually add on iOS devices will not push to iCloud; you need to subscribe to calendars using iCal on OS X to push those subscriptions to your other devices and computers.
icloud.com and Microsoft Outlook will not display subscribed calendars pushed to iCloud.
Find more information about using iCloud with calendar subscriptions.
    All the best,
    David

  • Synching ical with ipod

when I synch my ical with my ipod I can't get my "notes" for an event to show up on more then one line. I tend to have quite a few notes that would be nice to access. Is there some way to put "enters" into it so it's readable on my ipod?
    Thanks!

I don't have Leopard yet so it can't be that. I can't get my notes feature to work right either so I can't even use that instead. Guess for now I'm stuck with the old paper printer option....

  • Synching iCal with 10.5.8

Can't figure this one out. I've tried searching the forum but although there do seem to plenty of others with this problem none of the queries seem to have been resolved.
My Powermac and my intel macbook are both running Leopard and I've been using DotMac and then Mobile me for years.
Synching stopped working with iCal last autumn and I've had no success in fixing it. The Preferences accounts pane has gone blank and attempts to fill in my Mobile me account just give me "No Open Directory servers configured." Being a humble peasant I've got no idea what this means.
I presume this started when the upgrade became available but I can't use the iCal upgrade with Leopard and I cant upgrade to Snow leopard with my G5.
What's the Answer. Has Apple morphed into Microsoft?
    Message was edited by: Gray

Still no joy. It seems to be something to do with my G5 running 10.5.8
My Macbook seems to synch but nothing from or to my G5. Even doing a reset synch data on my G5 fails to make any impression on the Mobile me calendar. Is this a 10.5.8 thing?

  • Synch iCal and Address Book on my 20G iPod

I used to be able to load the contents of my calendar (iCal) and Address Book onto my iPod before a trip. Today I found that it no longer works.
iTunes still synchs my music files but not the rest. It "doesn't see" the contents of Address Book for instance (Message: No contacts available) and asks me if I want to open it and add a few names. Same with Calendar.
If I open either Address Book or iCal, the files open fine with all their content.
Any suggestions? I am preparing for a new trip...

  • How to synch iCal with Google

To make entries in iCal that will synch with Google Calendar:
Deselect your calendar on the left bar, then click on your Google email link also in the left bar.
Now make your calendar entries in iCal and they will automatically synch with iGoogle Calendar.

What "left bar" are you referring to?

  • Synching iCal via Dropbox

    Hi there,
I wish to sync my iCal calendars and Address Book data using Dropbox. I wondered whether anyone on the forums has been able to do this successfully, and whether they could offer any insight as to how reliable this is.
I know there are a few tutorials on the web on how to achieve this, but I am a little reluctant to move the iCal data folder to dropbox (would prefer to create the symlink within the Dropbox folder).
    Any advice appreciated!

    Hi Stig,
Merry Christmas to you too! I managed to get this working in the end, so I'll replicate the directions here for completeness.
*Before you begin ensure you have backed up your data, and have quit iCal and AddressBook on ALL computers that you intend to run this process on!*
    1. Download and install [SymLinker|http://seiryu.home.comcast.net/~seiryu/symboliclinker.html] on ALL computers that you wish to sync to.
    2. On the 'master' computer, create a Symlink for the entire AddressBook and iCal folder. These are stored at:
    iCal Database is at: ~User/Library/Calendars
AddressBook Database is at: ~User/Library/Application Support/AddressBook
    3. To create a symlink, right click on each of the above iCal and AddressBook folders and select 'Make Symbolic Link' from the context menu.
    4. Move both of these symlinks to your desktop, and rename them to 'AddressBook' and 'Calendars', i.e., the exact same names as they appear in the Library folders (this is important).
    5. On Dropbox, you may wish to create a folder called 'Applications'. This is not really necessary, however it helps with keeping the folder organised.
    6. Drag the two symlinks from your Desktop to your Dropbox folder. This should then begin the process of uploading them to your Dropbox account.
    7. On each of the 'slave' computers, delete the Calendars and AddressBook folders which appear in the library (Obviously back these up if you need to);
    8. Quit Dropbox on the slave computers;
    9. Right click on the Calendars and AddressBook folders (in your Dropbox folder) and create the symlinks for each. Drop the generated symlinks to your desktop and rename them to the names as per step 4.
    10. Place these renamed symlinks to their Library positions (see step 1);
    11. Start dropbox on the slave computer. Wait for Dropbox to complete synching.
    12.Done!
Your data should now begin to trickle down on your 'slave' computers. Please bear in mind that it is best to only ever run iCal and Addressbook on one computer at a time, otherwise there is a risk of creating data conflicts.
For even faster synching, ensure all your computers are running version 0.7.2 of Dropbox which supports LAN synching.
I already have 1Password and The Hit List working this way and it's great!
Hope this helps all Dropbox users!
    Saj

  • Google has synched iCal without my permission

    Google is out of control.
First it hijacked me into its "+" world via Youtube. Forcing me to create a "+" account (which I didn't want) if I wanted to keep all of my Youtube preferences, etc.
Now it has somehow dovetailed into my calendar app with IOS7, and is now synching events from one to the other. Without my permission.
How do I get Google out of my Calendar. It's now alerting me via email, several times a day about events, etc. Very maddening and creepy.
I did nothing to change settings, etc. This all started on its own after the IOS7 update.
    <Edited by Host>

OK, it was post Mavericks update. Somehow (NOT by me) the GMAIL option became checked in the ACCOUNTS section of iCal's preferences.

  • Synch ical with handheld

I am trying to synch my ical with my palm handheld for the first time. For some reason some of the events on my handheld are transferred to the wrong day, usually the day prior to the actual event. It is not happening to all my events, just some. What can I do to fix this problem?

I think you probably need to check your time zone settings: make sure that both the mac and palm have the same zone set and pay particular attention to daylight savings.
