Synch iphone to computer

I have a late 2006 version on the imac desktop computer.  I downloaded Lion and got icloud on my computer.  I followed the directions to get photos and itunes synched onto my new iphone but it is not working.  Can you help?  Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

Everything seems to be in order so here goes. Connect the iPhone to your computer via USB 2.0 port. The USB ports on the 2006 iMac keyboard are USB 1.1 and I don't think that will work for the iPhone 5. Next locate the device in iTunes 11, it will be next to the iTunes Store button
You will see ten options at the top of the summary page. From this explaination we will go over Apps and Photos. You will need to play around with the other options to suit your liking.
In the Apps tab simply remove or install apps you want on your iPhone
In the Photos tab you will need to check the 'Sync Photos from' option and navigate to iPhoto in the Applications folder (if not already set to iPhoto)
Once you go through all the device settings and you are happy with the selection click Apply in the lower right corner of the iTunes window.
Wait for the sync to finish and the selected data should be on the device

  • Downloading Itunes to new computer and then synching Iphone

I got a new computer and I downloaded the newest version of Itunes and when I connect my Iphone to synch, it will only synch to the computer the items I bought from Itunes and will not synch the items I downloaded and didn't purchase through Itunes. How do you synch everything from your Iphone to the the new computer with the newly dowloaded Itunes?

Here read this article and pay attention to what Zevoneer wrote. This should help you.

  • After synching iPhone, most of my apps no longer work.   how do I fix this

I've had my 3GS for several months, and purchased several dozen apps over that time. I had never synched the phone to my mac until today, though (I didn't have a new enough OS or iTunes). Now the phone synchs and backs up (it says) but I got a message saying some of my apps couldn't be synched because this computer isn't authorized" and I should authorize the computer. I click on the "store" tab and do that, and get a message saying "this computer is already authorized".
When I click on any app that didn't come with the iPhone, it flashes on for half a second and then closes.
How do I get my apps back and functioning? Please advise, thank you.

Now when I plug the iphone into the computer, itunes and iphoto don't respond (it used to be that both programs would launch if they weren't already open when I plugged the iPhone in, and when I plugged it in while iTunes was open it would show in the left hand column).
The system profiler confirms that the computer sees the iphone in the USB bus, and when I plug in an iPod, iTunes "sees" it.

    Try:
    - Powering off and then back on your router.
    - iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
    - Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
    Public DNS — Google Developers
    OpenDNS IP Addresses
    - For one user uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes resolved the problem
    - Try on another computer/network
    - Wait if it is an Apple problem

  • When synching iphone 5s to cloud, only 2 pictures synch

When synching iphone 5s to cloud, only 2 pictures out of 80 synch??

I wasn't aware there is a manual way to update your Photo Stream with the iPhone.
If there are any photos in your iPhone's Camera Roll when Photo Stream is enabled with your iCloud account on the iPhone, the existing photos in the Camera Roll are not uploaded to your Photo Stream when the iPhone is connected to an available wi-fi network. Only photos captured by the iPhone or saved by the iPhone after Photo Stream is enabled will be uploaded to your Photo Stream.
You can import the photos in the iPhone's Camera Roll that weren't uploaded to your Photo Stream with your computer as with any other digital camera.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4083
You can then manually add those photos to your Photo Stream access on your computer.

  • Is there an option of synching Iphone with two itunes on different mac books ?

is there an option of synching Iphone with two itunes on different mac books ?

You can't sync it to two computers.
But you can plug it into a second computer and add things or take things out of apps (under the app tab, scroll down).
Also you can take photos off on a second computer.
There are a few things you can do on a second computer.
    But not a sync.

    Hello, skifmli
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
I understand that you are unable to sync your iPhone and receive an error.  I was start with restarting iTunes and your computer.  Once this is done, test the results by attempting a sync.  If the issue persists, go through the troubleshooting steps in the article below.

  • HT4539 I want to download all the music I purchased through my iphone and computer from the first date i had iphone to date, and keep it in both my computer and iphone.

Need help, I want to download all the music I purchased through my iphone and computer from the first date i had iphone to date, and keep it in both my computer and iphone.

You cannot synch the other way, with the exception of songs purchased on iTunes.
What you need to do is move the iTunes library from the computer to which you've been synching your phone and put it on your new MacBook.

Ive been trying to preview songs on itunes, using my iphone and computer. Typically when previewing a song, it loads and its a blue color and it will play. Now when i try to preview, it stays black, and loads super fast and theres no sound. And I seem to be getting different prices on albums every time i click on one. Its just being really weird.
any tips or tricks?? ive tried resetting my phone and everything else. nothing is working.and i can play all the music on my phone with no problem. i just cant preview anything in itunes.

The number of devices authorized on an account and the number that an iPhone can sync to are two different things. You can now authorize up to 5 computers or 10 devices to play your content, but still an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch can only be tied to one computer at a time. You can copy content from other computers to the computer used for syncing, and get it on the iPhone that way.
Connect the phone to that computer, whichever you want to be the "master" of the iPhone. Click on its name in iTunes. On the right there is a Summary screen. Scroll down it and you will see several checkboxes. One of them is "Manually manage music and videos". If this is checked you must drag content from iTunes to the iPhone. If you have a large library, however, this can be cumbersome.
The alternative is to leave this box unchecked, and instead click on the "Music" tab when the phone is connected. You can then just check the content you want on the phone, by artist, genre, title, playlist, etc. After checking you click the "Update" or "Sync" button and everything you have checked syncs automatically.

  • I downloaded pictures onto my iPhone from computer twice by mistake now when i uncheck/sync then check and sync again  i keep getting two lots of pics..how can i get just the one set again? thnx

I downloaded pictures onto my iPhone from computer twice by mistake now when i uncheck/sync then check and sync again  i keep getting two lots of pics..how can i get just the one set again? thnx

    You're welcome.
All photos transferred from your computer are stored in the iPhone's Photo Library regardless if you select a single album or folder of photos to be transferred or multiple albums or folders. The photos on the albums or folders of photos include a pointer to the original photos stored in the Photo Library. The photos are not duplicated taking up double the storage space. This way you can view the photos in an album or folder of photos only by selecting the album or folder, or all photos in all albums or folders by selecting Photo Library.
Makes more sense when transferring multiple albums or folders of photos which cannot be changed when transferring only a single album or folder of photos.
The same applies with iTunes and music playlists. A song can't be in a playlist unless it is in the main iTunes library. Placing a song in a playlist does not duplicate the song.
