Hello dhypolit and welcome to the Palm forums.
Yes, you can install Palm Desktop on your second computer and still sync your Palm to it.

  • HT1364 I used these instructions to move my i-tunes library to the external hard drive that two different home pc's access. My playlists do not show on both Is it possible to have one i-pod synch amid two different computers that use the same library?

I have a sole i-pod and two pc's, used the instructions for "iTunes for Windows: Moving your iTunes Media folder" in the hope that I could synch my one i-pod between two different computers that are sharing the same library. Is it possible to have two seperate computers that only share an external hard drive (one wireless, one not) ? When I am looking at a shared library should it appear the same on both machines (ie: playlists/ purchased list etc)?

If it is moved correctly, playlists will display on both computers and it should be possible.
    Close iTunes.
    Hold <SHIFT> and launch iTunes.
When prompted to create a new or open an existing iTunes library point iTunes to the iTunesLibrary.itl file on the external drive.
The entire library should now show up with all playlists and playcounts.
    Do this on both computers.
Keep in mind that only one computer can access iTunes at a time, otherwise errors will occur when each computer attempts to write to or update the iTunesLibrary.itl file.
Syncing may work seemlessly with both computers, but honestly syncing is designed to work with one and only one computer.

  • Synch iPad with two Computers?

I have the iPad 3 Wi Fi genertion. Can this iPad be Synch to two Different computers. One computer has windows vista home premium and the other has windows XP Pro. If so, how is it accomplished? Thank you.

The key word in your question is the word "sync". The answer to your question is - No- you cannot sync to two different computers. Syncing with iTunes will transfer content from that iTunes library to the iPad. If you sync with another computer, iTunes will overwrite the iPad contents from the first iTunes library with the content from the second iTunes library.
You can use multiple computers for the purpose of putting music onto the iPad, but you cannot sync with two computers. You can read about that process here.

  • Synch Songs on 2 Different Computers- How

I understand that you have to delete songs from your iTunes library and re-synch to get songs off your phone. However, I have a couple of questions here
    1. What if my PC crashes and I loose all data/ have to reinstall the OS [a not-so-remote scenario on windows OS]. Would it mean the next time I synch with iTunes [after OS reinstall], I have to create a new playlist, and the existing song on iPhone will be deleted
    2. Lets say i have a Computer at home and another at my workshop, and both do not carry essentially the same songs. Will this mean if I try to synch with iTunes on two different computers [w/o the same songs/ playlist in both] - what gets saved on to the iPhone from one computer gets deleted when synched to the other one?!

Correct, unless you maintain a backup of your iTunes library along with all other important data. This no-so-remote scenario is one of the reasons why maintaining a backup of all your important data is so important. There are several reasons why maintaining a backup is important regardless the platform, but even more so with a Windows PC due to constant virus, adware, and spyware concerns.
iTunes includes a backup option stored on CD media, but there are other options available.
    2. Lets say i have a Computer at home and another at my workshop, and both do not carry essentially the same songs. In regards to iTunes content and for photos transferred to an iPhone, an iPhone can be synced with iTunes on a single computer only. Contact information, calendar events, and bookmarks can be synced with multiple computers.

  • Why does Firefox remember the pages I've visited, even though I am using different computers? I've never used the sync function. I don't want my computer at work to be synched with my personal computer at home

My computer at work remembers the pages I've visited even though I visited the pages while I was using my computer at my home. I don't know how or why this is happening, and I don't like that it is in sync with my computer at home - I have never used that function.
For example - When I type in "the methodist hospital" into the search bar using the computer at home, all the search results come up from Google, so I click on the links and take a look around on the websites/pages. The next day, I walk into work, and I type in "the methodist hospital" again in the search bar, and when the results come up - it indicates in gray lettering that "[I] visited this page [yesterday's date]."
Please explain why this is happening and what I must do in order for it to stop. It is scary knowing that my browsing history is remembered using 2 completely different computers. Needless to say, I don't want my boss thinking I'm just surfing the web all day at work.
    Thanks in advance!

if i have to read any comment by matt n again i will throw up...in my mouth. i have gone all over google trying to figure out what the f ff did to me without my permission, i have updates turned off so there should be no prompting to restart, there should be a polite offer not a forced update. i am angry and so are a ton of people.
everytime i go to a new complaint, another angry fellow ff user there is matt n with his infuriating smiling little picture...telling me about the awesome safety and security of the new ff...ignoring that a supposed safe but ugly and unusable browser is worse than a customized, beautiful, well functioning browser...with supposed safety issues. i am so angry i cannot express how this has wasted my time. i have been online for 2 hours now figuring out how to fix, apparently i cannot. my old theme is not compatible now...so i am screwed.
good bye. if i wanted chrome i would have had chrome. but i have no choice now.

  • Can my wife and I share iTunes accounts on different computers?

My wife uses an Apple Airbook, I work on a desktop PC. I've had an iTunes account for a long time and we share music, etc. So can we share the same iTunes account from our different computers?

No. iOS is not designed at this time for multiple account logins. You would be synching over the top of each other.

  • Different iPhone capacities on different computers

I have an iPhone 4, and I sync it to my home and work computer. I manually manage songs and videos. When I plug it into iTunes on the different computers (same version), the capacity bar shows different amounts of memory on different computers. The difference appears primarily to be in the video capacity. It's a significant difference: on my home computer, it shows 4.6 GB Free, on the work computer, it shows 10.6 GB Free.
Is there a reason for this? A bug? Which capacity is the right one?
I don't synch anything but contacts and calendars with my work computer; all the songs and such are on the home computer, to which I also synch contacts and calendars.

Ok, i'm working  for a chemical company. We planned to go live with sap in january 2010.
Today, we don't know how to manage with sap the loading capacity.
The first step of our manufacturing process produces a liquid (product A). We planned to setup in sap: one work center, one BOM, one routing and one manufacturing capacity (24h a day) for this step.
Product A can be used as a component for the second manufacturing step  (product B) or sold. Therefore I have 2 differents requirements for product A: internal from product B and external from the sales planning.
With the work center with one capacity, i am able to compare the manufacturing capacity with the sales planning + the internal requirement.
But it takes time to fill up trucks with liquid A  (that's what i call "the loading capacity"), so i wan't to compare the loading capacity with the sales planning.
For example: it takes 1h to load a trucks, i can load 10 h / day, 20 days / week, a truck can take 25 tons. I want to see in sap a overload if my sales planning is more than 12510*20 = 5000 tons a month.
With your first answers, i created a second capacity type, but i don't know how to charge it. One important thing is: the product doesn't change when it goes into the trucks.
    Thanks again

  • Syncing ICal on different computers by Ipod

    hi,
I am attempting to synch calendars on different Macs. My Ipod only writes data onto the Mac (but does not receive from it). To truly 'synchronize', I would need my Ipod to send AND receive new calendar events and address book items so both computers are 'in sync'.
Can this be done (without .MAC account)?
    Thanks!

    Hi Thomas,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
First, I think it is fair to say that iCal .Mac syncing was really designed for the single user with a couple of Macs. But that doesn't mean it can't work for something more robust. There are people who are doing as you are with no problem (but perhaps not with as much data). And there are folks reporting problems syncing between Tiger and Panther (makes sense to me). And other folks reporting problems syncing period.
If you had been following threads here, you'd see that there seems to be a problem sometimes with iCal and iSync so if that's in the picture (has to be for Panther) than perhaps that's part of your problem. See the thread for more info: Patricia W, "iCal "Unexpectedly" Quitting after iTunes 5.0.1 install" #29, 10:59am Sep 25, 2005 CDT
I know that doesn't answer your question, but know that some folks are doing what you want with no problem.

  • Separate Library for 2 Different Computers

I have 2 different computers that I need to have 2 separate libraries. The problem is my wife and I share the 'My Documents' folder. I have an iPod 60GB, 5G and I'm trying to setup her iPod shuffle. I'd like her to have a separate database/library, but since we both share 'My Documents', I'm having difficulty getting iTunes to look elsewhere for her login. Is there a file outside of the normal preferences that I can change or hardcode for her situation? I've tried pointing her 'My Documents' settings to a directory on her machine, but that's no good because she can't get to her other files then.

Hi - I hope this thread can help me out. Here's the situ... I have a main computer/itunes library at home. Meanwhile I have a work laptop where I've purchased some itunes music which I mainly listen to at work. Now, I want to transfer the music I've purchased from my laptop to my computer at home (and then synch with my ipods). my laptop is not exactly easy to copy files, but I can do it via flash drive onto the home computer (can't figure out how to network the laptop onto home computer). In any event, when I drag the song into the home itunes library, it will show up in the library, but only play when the flash drive is in. As soon as I take the flash drive out, itunes says it can't find the file. Um, help??

  • Synch. iPhone with 2 computers

I would like to snych my iPhone with my business Windows XP based notebook (Outlook synchronization of contacts and calendar) and with my private MacBook Pro which contains all music, videos, podcasts, ebooks and pictures.
I assume that this senario is most common and should be best practice. So allow that I address this synch issue to the apple development team to elaborate a solution for this request soon.
    Thank you very much. Wolfgang

Answering andy76sz's question, yes my behavior is the same as yours. Each time I try to resync my phone with the my other computer (no matter if it's my iMac at home or my work PC) all the syncing options are cleared and I have to recheck the ones I want. As sisterblue said, Apple probably intended this behavior to prevent inadvertent syncing to occur.
So it seems this is just the way it is for now. I hope 2.0 of the iPhone firmware will address this common usage scenario (i.e., full synchronization of contacts and appointments between the iphone and 2 different computers). This has been a feature of Windows Mobile for a while now and many of us have come to depend on having our phones (formerly PDAs) provide a way synchronizing our busy schedules and dynmically changing contacts and their info between work and home. I agree with andy76sz's assessment that Apple probably didn't initially provide this capability because they were worried about people copying music/videos between different computers using the iPhone as a bridge. I don't even use my iPhone to listen to music or watch videos.
I do have an idea though, that might work until Apple provides this capability... I have a couple of old Windows Mobile phone lying around gathering dust (T-Mobile SDA, SMT5600). What if I were to go back to using Missing Sync on my iMac and use these old phones as bridging device for syncing my calendar and contacts between my home iMac and my work PC. Would be a pain in the butt, but I think it may work. Any body tried this?

  • Time Machine: Backup folder changing size when connected to different computers

Can someone please help me wrap my head around why the size of my Time Machine backup folder changes when connected to different computers? I tried to be as thorough as possible.  Thanks in advance for taking the time to read this.
I made a backup of my one laptop (MacBook Pro running 10.6.8) before installing Mavericks.  The backup folder size is 258.56 GB and it is on a 1TB WD external.  There are no other computers backed up in this folder.
Last night, I tried to copy the backup folder to another 1TB WD external and ran into the “you can’t do that” message.  After some researching, I came across articles explaining how Time Machine handles HDs and, in order for me to copy my backup folder, the drive I want to copy the folder to needs to have the “Ignore ownership on this volume” deselected.
Okay, so here is my situation: I have the “Ignore ownership on this volume” deselected and journaling is correct on the drive I want to copy the backup folder to.  So I can continue working on my laptop, I want to use a different computer to copy the backup folder from one HD to the other.  The problem I’m having is each computer I own is showing me a different backup folder size O.o.
    (1) The computer I want to use – a Power Mac G5 Quad running 10.4.11 (non intel) – is showing a backup folder size of 592.7 MB, but the HD shows there is 258 GB being used.  When I drag copy, I only get a 592.7 MB backup folder.  For some reason, the backup folder is the only folder acting this way. I compared other folders from the same and different externals and all the sizes match up perfectly no matter the computer they were connected to. How is this possible?
    (2) My second option - Mac Pro (early 2009) running 10.9.4 – is showing a 256.15 GB backup folder size.  Very close, but not 258.56 GB.
    (3) My last option is to use the computer I’m trying to stay away from, the MacBook Pro running 10.6.8.  This is the computer I backed up and is showing me the correct folder size = 258.56GB.  As I mentioned, I'd like to work on my laptop while copying the backup folder using one of my other computers.
I am able to drag and drop from each computer, but the folder size depends on the computer I’m using.  I don’t understand why I can't do a simple drag and drop of a 258 GB folder.
    Many thanks!!

The directory files that you are seeing are not real. They are links to the actual backup files that are stored in a hidden directory on the drive. If you were to look at the same drive on a pc, you would see the folders and you would a list files that are in the folders but the files would all be 0 byte files and Windows will tell you the file is empty because there is nothing there but a link which Windows does not understand.
So the point is you can't just copy the backupd files. The best solution that I know of (and maybe someone else will chime in) for copying them is to mirror the drive with something like Carbon Copy or some other program.

  • Different accounts in different computers

Me and my wife have different acounts, in different computers (with differente ios devices), in the past we share of music and books bought from itunes without problems, but know I found the restriction of 90 days to change de AppleID
¿How can now share our content bouth between our two accounts?

    Hi Dongoyo79,
    Welcome to the Support Communities!
The article below explains how your Apple ID can be used for different services.  If the majority of your iTunes purchases are on one of your Apple ID's -- you can sign out of the iTunes Store and sign back in using that Apple ID and password.  You can continue to use your other Apple ID to keep all of your data separate for iCloud, etc.
The other option is to use your own Apple ID for iTunes AND iCloud.  If you have separate User accounts on your computer, then you could each build your own iTunes library.  Review the article below and decide which option is best for you.
Using your Apple ID for Apple services
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895
An Apple ID is the email address you use as a login for just about everything you do with Apple, including using iCloud to store your content, buying songs from the iTunes Store, and downloading apps from the App Store.
When you set up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, you can use the same Apple ID for iCloud services and purchases on the iTunes Store, App Store, and iBooks Store. You can also use one Apple ID for iCloud services and another Apple ID for store purchases (including iTunes in the Cloud and iTunes Match). You will get all the benefits of iCloud whether you use the same Apple ID for iCloud and store purchases, or different IDs for each.
The following section explains these two approaches.
Using the same Apple ID for Store purchases and iCloud (recommended)
Using one Apple ID for iCloud and a different Apple ID for Store Purchases
    Frequently Asked Questions
I have purchased music, apps, or books with multiple Apple IDs. How can I get all of this content onto my iOS device?

First, you need to copy all of your purchased content so it is on the same Mac or PC with iTunes. This computer should be the one you sync your device with. For more information on how to move your content, see these articles:
Mac:  iTunes for Mac: How to copy purchases between computers
PC:  iTunes for Windows: How to copy purchases between computers
Next, authorize your computer to play content with each Apple ID in iTunes. Once your computer is authorized for all your content, it can be synced to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.
I hope this information helps ....

  • How do multiple users on different computers work on an Indesign file?

Do we work on it on the Cloud and only one license is needed for same project? Do we need multiple licenses for different computers working on the same file? If I buy Indesign, will I be the only person who can access the software from my computer?

thank you so much! I wouldn't be giving the copy to anyone but yes would
