Synch outlook contacts to contacts in blackberry storm 9550 with wired connection: "address book not installed"

I have been synching outlook, calendar, address book contacts, task and memos, to my blackberry storm 9550 using outlook 2003 for about 6 months.  Somewhere along the line, MS Outlook on my PC no longer synchs with Blackberry contacts. I can still synch calendar, tasks and memos, but get a "not installed" for the address book contacts.  I have installed the latest blackberry desktop 6.1.0B38 and tried to reconfigure.  I still get "address book not installed" for the contacts.  This is a wired synch and wireless is turned off.  Any ideas how to fix? I was told by someone at AppleCare that my saved Outlook 2007 Calendars would open on the Mac in iCal and that my Word 2007 Documents would open on the Mac using pages in iWork.
This information is correct for Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.
It's also correct for Outlook if the Outlook Calendars where exported in the ics format.

  • Why doesn't BlackBerry Desktop Software synchronize my BlackBerry contacts with my iMac Address Book

Hi there, please help! I am trying to sync my BlackBerry contacts with my iMac Address Book. I used BlackBerry Desktop Software and did a two-way sync, but my Address Book is still empty. The images on my BlackBerry copied to iPhoto, so the sync 'worked' here but not for the contacts. Thanks!

Hello AdalaMichelle and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
What OSX version does your Mac have? What's your BlackBerry Desktop Software version?
When you set up your Mac, did you enable iCloud for your Mac Address Book?
Is your Mac or your BlackBerry Address Book blank?
Did you enable wireless contact sync on your BlacKBerry when you added an email account?
    Thanks!

  • Contact pictures in Address Book not being displayed

    Hi,
I am syncing my address book, calendar with Google. My "source" usually is the Mac address book. After having activated the "Mac <=> Google" sync, everything worked fine in the begining. But the last six weeks I seem to have a problem with the contact pictures:
I have created contact pictures for nearly 95% of my contacts. These pictures were copied to the address book either from iPhoto or from the web. Via Google sync, the contacts are transfered to my iPod touch, my iPhone and my Nokia Lumia 800.
Suddenly the contact pictures started to disappear from my Mac address book, but were still visible in my Google address book and my mobile devices.
When I started to add the pictures to my address again I realized that most pictures are still there, they were simply not being displayed in my Mac address book. By switching to "edit mode" and opening the picture field I could see the pictures again. After clicking "OK" the pictures is visible again.
I double checked all pictures, added the few missing ones and created an "address book archive". Yesterday all pictures gone again. I imported the archive, all pictures back again. This morning, the pictures are gone again. This whole thing doesn't seem to affect Google or the mobile devices.
Any idea what the problem with the address book is?
PS: Before you suggest to switch to iCloud. I need to sync my address book and calendar with all my mobile devices. If I would use iCloud, I would not be able to sync with my Nokia Lumia 800 (Windows Phone). And from comments in the forum, there seem to be similar problems with iCloud concerning address book information.
    Thanks for your ideas.

    I found this article online:
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-20004209-263.html
Export an Address Book Archive of all your contacts, then import it right back in. Worked like a charm.

  • Can't sync Address Book note field to iPhone contacts

    Hi:
I make heavy use of the "note:" field in my MacBook Address Book app. I store all kinds of detailed info about people, organizations, etc. in that field. I would like to be able to access that information on my iPhone 3G, but the phone's Contacts app has no corresponding "note" field.
Could this be a result of the way I imported data into my MacBook when I first got it?
In searching the fora, I found several people who said their iPhone contacts sync nicely with the Address Book note, and others who say it doesn't sync at all. Can anyone please shed some light on this for me?
    Thanks!

Not quite sure what you mean by "editing" but I've tried every method of selecting, deleting, cursor placement, backspacing, and typing I can think of -- again, with and without the Edit button clicked. I did seem to accumulate a huge number of duplicates along the way, and there were more than a thousand cards in my Address Book; maybe I went over the limit?

How can I sync my iPhone 5 contacts with my Mac Address Book?

  • Synching desktop Address Book with my .Mac Address Book. Is it possible?

Can i sync my desktop address book with my .Mac address book?
    Thanks.

I am also having this problem with my address book synching to .Mac. But my calendar and bookmarks have appeared with no problem so I'm not doing anything wrong -and I haven't created custom profiles either. Do you really think this is due to the lead up to Mobile Me? If so, why did the bookmarks etc sync with no problem? It is frustrating because this is what I really need to access.

  • New contacts in address book not synching with mobile me

Just thought I'd add a solution to anyone who had a similar problem as mine. This had been going on for a while and I just finally got around to trying to fix it.
I'm using mobileme. The specific problem I had was adding new contacts on my main computer's address book, and then they were not updating the mobileme address book, and in so doing would keep deleting the newly inputted contact on my main computer's address book. Really frustrating. All the old contacts were synching fine, it was just new contacts that I added.
In the end, I found the answer, and it was a corrupted 'Addressbook-v22.abcddb' in my home folder/library/appl support/addressbook I moved it to the desktop and restarted address book.
Now, everything works as it should.
Just thought I'd share if anyone else is having the same weird issue.

    Thanks Philip!

  • Blackberry 8330 Syncing Contacts with Mac Desktop Address Book

Wondering if anyone else is having this issue with PocketMac.  I have been able to sync my calendar with iCal, and Tasks, but PocketMac never finishes the sync with the Contacts.  I left it on all night and it still hadn't finished.  I finally have to cancel the operation.  I'm not getting any error messages; the sync just never completes.  Any ideas?  Could it be that the changes to the Address Book will really take 24 hours or longer to complete?  Thanks for any and all help!

  • Frustration with Address Book - Not Allowing Copy/Paste of Contact Card

Has anyone found a work-around for copy/paste of an entire contact card in Address Book? Address Book used to allow you highlight and copy all of the content of a contact v-card. Since Snow Leopard released (including the 10.6.2 update), it only allows you to highlight and copy one line at a time. That is a dramatic reduction in productivity -- a lot like the dysfunctional nature of Outlook's contact manager. Any work-arounds that don't involve export/import to other programs?

I believe I responded in the previous posting that the work-around did not resolve the problem. The effort that it takes to implement your suggestion takes more time than it would be to cut/paste individual lines or just retype the data. Again, the purpose is to make/have efficient work flow, not complicated tasks which had simple solutions at one point in time. And since a majority of the people reading support threads are less familiar than you might be with prospective automation and programming tasks with the OSX, maybe I should have simply stated that the function is "broke" and should be "fixed".

  • Address Book not willing to share its contacts-

    Hi everybody,
I thought I was a mac expert but I'm not, listen : I can't make Address Book to share its contacts.
I set up everything in the AB Preferences > Accounts > Share, but nothing happens.
    No publication of the contacts.
Should I mention that I am a MobileMe member, and that the account is correctly setup in MobileMe prefs pane…
The recipient of the invitation gets an empty contacts list from me (which makes sense…).
    Any clue ?
    thanks !
