Synch Pics - Centro / Verizn - XP - 4.1.4

Tried but couldn't find this exact prob. Running a Centro on Verizon synching to Desktop 4.1.4 with windows xp home (sp3). (tried vers 6 that came with phone, hated it, loaded 4.1.4 with help from support).
I have a whole bunch of pics, each about 380k. I can email one at a time, but i would rather synch all at once to my puter over my usb synch cable. It says can't send anything over 500k. The pics aren't synching when i do a hotsync ???.
   Any solution or workaround ???

4.1.4e does not have the Media conduit built into it!
4.2 that came with my TX does have it - I'd suggest you give it a shot by downloading it!   It will look just like 4.1.4e.
"Media Inconsistencies".... man, you gotta love that doublespeak!

  • Contacts and Calendar not synching. (Centro, Windows XP, Palm Desktop 6.2.2) Please help!

I originally posted on the Hotsync forum, and it was suggested that I post my question here.  Important information:  My office uses Microsoft Outlook Exchange, and I have my Centro set up to get my emails.  It also wants to sync my contacts and calendar; however, that is completely unneeded for my purposes.  I need to synch my Contacts and Calendar with my Palm Desktop.  If there is something I have to check or uncheck to do so, please tell me how.
    This is my original post:
"When I hotsynch, my memopad, my documents to go, everything seems to synch except my contacts and calendar.
After a few hours on the phone with tech support at sprint, we went for the nuclear option, hard reset, and the temporarily solved the problem, but now it has returned.
    Information that might be important:
I'm getting a failed to backup 1 file error>PmTraceDatabase>Protocol Error: Handheld file could not be opened (4004)>SYNCERR_FILE_NOT_OPEN.  This may or may not be relevent.
Anyway, I appreciate any help with this.  I depend on this PDA phone to keep me organized and there's a slight and embarrasing touch of panic to how I feel now that it is not working correctly."

Okay, I'm continuing to do research on this, and here's my suspicion, maybe true or maybe false.  When I set up versamail to get mail from my office's exchange server, it also configured my contact list and calendar to sync as well, and synching with the the exchange server and synching with my desktop software are mutually exclusive.
If this IS true, then hopefully there is a way to set it up so I synch my email only with the exchange server, and leave my contact list and calendar configured to synch with my desktop software.
Any feedback or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I assume you are using Palm desktop 6.2. To verify the version, go to help-about in Palm desktop for the version number.
Are you using Windows Vista or XP?
Outlook 2000 will not work with 6.2 on Vista. You need Outlook 2002 or higher.
If you want to use Outlook 2000 on Vista, you can use Palm desktop 4.1.4e. Here is the link for the download for 4.1.4e.
    http://kb.palm.com/SRVS/NUA/launchKB.asp?c=32991
You will need to "clean" uninstall Palm desktop 6.2 before installing Palm desktop 4.1.4e.
Let me know the version of Windows you have and I can provide the uninstall instructions.

  • Synching pics from iPhoto '08 to iPod (Classic, 80 GB)

    Hi, All:
I've posted about this in the iPod section, but got little response. I have over 3,400 photos in my iPhoto ('08) library, but only about 1/3 of them synch to my iPod. The iPod has plenty of disk space available, and I've (always) checked the "sync all photos" option in iTunes.
Oh, I do have Keyword Manager installed to iPhoto, which I use instead of iPhoto's keyword capability. Could this be the problem?
Many, probably more than half, of my photos were imported into my MacBook when I switched from Windows back in '06... Those photos do not have the .jpg extension in their filenames. Could this be the reason that 2/3 of my pics are not being synched to my iPod? Shall I have to go back and manually rename each one, adding the .jpg extension?
    I appreciate your suggestions!
Bill in CT (writing from France)

Were these files ever stored on a Windows formatted disk?
So, is there any way to get these pics to show up as .jpeg's, without having to somehow do that manually for each one (over 2,000)?
I’m sure there is in the Terminal, but my ignorance of the Terminal is, well, Terminal.

  • How to synch Palm Centro (Verizon Wireless) with Windows 7, 64 bit??????

I tried to sync with USB adapater that came with the phone but I get error message that device driver could not download.  Can someone please help me.

You cannot natively sync a PalmOS device with a 64bit OS via USB - the solution is to do it wirelessly.
Please see this large thread at the top of this section:

  • Organizing synched pics on iPhone from desktop folder. Help.

    Hi.
I have a folder on my desk top that has 3 folders within it.  In each folder are pictures.
Is there anyway to sort thise pictures in these folders by 'date taken'?
Under view there is arrange by: name, kind, date added, etc... but no option for date picture taken.
I would like to sync these folders to my iphone and have them arranged in phone by date taken.  Currently they are all scrambled.  So a picture from last month is next to a pictrue from last year, then another picture from 3 months ago.
How can I keep these orderly from earliest to latest taken? (or vise versa).
For various reasons, I don't want to sync pictures to my phone via iPhoto.
    Thanks.

I have 300 pics on my computer and I never put them in my photo stream on the computer, If I did I never intended to. One time I was on the phone with an Apple rep helping me with another problem I had and he had me open my computer and I believe he had me sync something at that time. For now I have turned off I cloud because it seems to pick up everything. Sitting at a ball game I had 5 new apps when I got home that I would never have used. In the reminders I put one in for myself and my daughter got the reminder in another town on my old ipod. Now to the problem...has apple come up with a way to delete them ? I do not want all that stuff on my phone!!

  • Synch pics, stream vids and music

is that possible? everything i have seen says no...at least i havent been able to do it.

i'm not sure what you are asking? how are you "breaking from sync to stream"?
    - syncing of photos is on matter always you never turn it off... so in iTunes, on the computer you set syncing for photos on and sync for everything else off and you never touch that setting that will or should initiate the sycn between the ATV and iTunes Library.
    - then from the AppleTV you then choose what you want to look at streamed or sync'd content:
    - for sync'd content, (i.e. what's on the AppleTV hard drive) in the AppleTV menu you go to Sources > AppleTV
    - for streamed content, in the AppleTV menu you go to Sources > "my iTunes Library"
    - so if you choose Sources > AppleTV and go to Movies none of you movies will be there since there are no movies on the AppleTV hard drive
    - if you choose Sources > "my iTunes Library"... well, you'll actually see everything. the only plus of syncing is that if you computer is off you can still get to your content but you can get to all your content by streaming (choosing Sources > "my iTunes Library")... as long as your computer is on and network wired or wirelss is up

  • Synching a Treo650and Centro with same computer

I have been using a Treo650 and have been synching it with my PC (Win XP Pro SP2) for many years. There are also some 3rd party apps on it. I have recently acquired a Centro which has a CDMA phone in it. I want to carry on using the Treo as phone+PDA and want to use the Centro to just have another device where I can store my contacts and databases, etc. In other words after I synch the Treo I with the PC, I would like to synch the Centro as well so as to get the information on that as well.
With the above objective, I created another user name in HotSync for the Centro and tried to synch it with Palm Desktop (6.2). I also installed a copy of the third party app on the Centro. It seemed to synch alright except for one error message which said "Couldn't open file PMTracedatabase on handheld", but when I looked on the Centro, I saw that while the 3rd party app had been correctly installed, no data at all (addresses, tasks, databases, etc) had been transferred to the Centro.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks in advance
    Javed
Post relates to: Treo 650 (Unlocked GSM)

Hello javedsha and welcome to the Palm forums.
I would suggest that you HotSync the Centro to your computer and assign it a unique HotSync ID.  The Treo 650 and Centro have different versions of Palm OS installed on them and you will run into trouble if you are synchronizing both devices under the same HotSync ID.
Once you have performed a HotSync operation with the Centro to your PC and given it a new HotSync ID, I suggest that you export the data from the Treo 650's contacts, calendar, etc and then import them into the HotSync ID for the Centro.
Once you create a second HotSync ID on your computer, you will see both the Treo 650's and the Centro's HotSync ID appear in a pull down menun in the top right of the Palm Desktop application window which allows you to switch between the two HotSync IDs.

  • Centro: Datebook /Calender will not synch when I do a Hot Synch from Different Computer Sites

I have 3 different computers I synch my Centro with. When I do a Hot Synch, the datebook/calender sync is completely bypassed and therefore data never gets shared. I have tried adjusting the configure function from the desktop; however, it seems to be related to the Phone as it will not sync with any of my computers. Is there a switch on the Phone I can turn on or off to enable the Datebook synch?
    Thanks.

  • Synching question for Centro

I have not had the opportunity to synch my centro yet, and today I broke the touch screen.  Is there any way to save the contacts & calendar without synching it?  Also, can I synch it without using the touchscreen?
    Help me please!
    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

You can definetly sync the device without having to use the touchscreen, so you might be in luck, if you can atleast boot the device up and get past all screen prompts (ie keyguard) you theroetically can hotsync by connecting the cable and pressing the button, now the only problem is that you can't tell if it works unless the screen pops up on your computer, so I guess my real question is, is the screen broken and you can't see anything on it, or is broken but you can still see everything fine, the screen is just broken and you can't navigate via the touchscreen.

  • Stuck on "synchronizing pics & videos"

On both my wife's and mine palm centro phones, hotsyncing  stops/hangs on "synchronizing pics & videos"
    It used to work..
    a few questions:
    1) can I "debug" the sync--i.e. get a verbose log file of what's going on?
    2) Does this problem pertain to the *quantity* of pics/videos
    3) as a follow on, what about "finer control" over synching pics/videos/media? if I put a 300mb .mp4 file on my palm via the microSD card, how do I tell hotsync "don't synchronzie this".
One item: we installed companionlink google-calendar sync earlier, but do not use it.
    thanks,
    bill
    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

The issue could involve the number and size of files it has to sync.  How long have you let Hotsync "hang" before shutting it down?  Large files take a lonnnnnng time to Hotsync.
Also, what version of Windows and Palm Desktop are you using?
Try disabling the pics & videos conduit in Hotsync Manager to get past the clog and make sure there's nothing else bogging it down.

I have used a Palm device for many years. Acquired a new Centro. Upon installation of Palm Desktop (on Windows XP) that came with Centro, all contacts, calendar, to do, memos, etc transferred to the Centro during installation.

I have a Centro/Verizon Wireless using Versamail with accounts established for personal POP and Exchange e-mail synchronization.  The latter account is for work.  Previously I owned a Treo 650p using Versamail.
When I first installed Palm OS Desktop and synched to my Centro device, it was on a Windows XP home computer, and no Versamail accounts were defined.  First I downloaded and installed the Versamail version which allowed Exchange synchronization.  I exported the Treo650p contacts list to a disk file, and imported it onto the Windows XP home computer into the Palm OS Desktop installed with the Centro-supplied CD.  This synched the imported contacts list to the Centro fine.  After I defined all the POP and Exchange accounts, synchronization with the office Exchange contacts list worked fine, and still does.  Synchronization with the windows XP home computer for contacts seems to still be ok, too regardless of the MS Exchange Versamail account commingling with my personal POP accounts.  Maybe the install sequence is overriding the previous posts' notation that MS Exchange mail definition will override synch with Palm OS Desktop?
The problem now is I have a different/second home computer that's Vista os.  I installed the Palm OS Desktop and synch with the Treo.  The contacts list is not synching to this second home computer, maybe because I didn't follow the exact same sequence as for the Windows XP pc?  I can still synch my Centro with my Windows XP pc and that includes contacts.
Is there a way on this second pc to override the MS Exchange contacts override for synchronization without having to go through the exact same install sequence as occurred on the Windows XP machine?

  • Centro hotsync palm desktop strange dates

When I synched my centro a couple weeks ago, it started putting certain events 3 hours different on my palm desktop, and they all had this global or international type icon.  My phone is the same (correct times) and continues to keep the appointments as always, but I am concerned because it seems strange and second, when carbonite backs up my palm info, it does it from the computer, not my phone.  Do you have any idea what is causing this?
    I use Vista
    Palm desktop 6.2.2
    my centro says 1.08-SPNT
    Thanks.

OK, it seems as if this is not an issue anybody is familiar with.  Has anyone seen the "international" or world icon?

  • HT1386 I AM HAVING TROUBLE UPLOADING PHOTOS FROM PC TO IPAD.

I AM HAVING TROUBLE UPLOADING PHOTOS FROM PC TO IPAD. I GET SOME PHOTOS UPLOADED AND THEN TRY TO ADD MORE.. AND ALL THE PREVIOUS ONES DISAPPEAR! THIS IS VERY FRUSTRATING. CANT I ADD NEW PHOTOS ONCE I  UPLOAD ANY!

If you REALLY want to use the stock Photos (I wouldn't as it has major problems as is also explained both at http://www.iphonelife.com/blog/87/all-one-photo-viewer-roundup-70-price-drop-bes t-image-viewer and in the https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3812013?start=345&tstart=0 thread here - look directly at the first two messages), you need to ceate subfolders in parallel to the original ones. Then, the previously synched pics won't disappear.
But, again, I do NOT recommend using the built-in Photos. Using third-party apps like Photo Manager Pro is the way to go until Apple fix the issues with Photos.

  • Outlook 2007 Conduits / Barracuda Outlook Plugin - Trouble Report and Workaround

This is a trouble report and workaround.
My employer uses a Barracuda spam firewall.  They encourage users, who have Outlook 2007, to install the Outlook plugin.  The plugin makes a couple of icons on the Outlook toolbar that are useful for improving the spam filtering capability of Outlook.
Unfortunately, shortly after I installed the Barracuda plugin, Hotsync with my Palm Centro stopped working right.
There is a conflict between Palm's Outlook 2007 Conduits and the Barracuda plugin for Outlook.  This prevents the Calendar from synching my Centro.  (The other Outlook components I have synched, Memos and Contacts, might still synch).
As a workaround, I disabled the Barracuda plugin, and Hotsync worked correctly.
It is possible to leave the Barracuda plugin enabled most of the time, but disable the plugin right before you Hotsync, then re-enable.  It's not too onerous, because most users only synch their Palms once or twice a day.
It's not idea, but this is the best workaround I have found for Palm users who have Outlook 2007 and would like to use the Barracuda plugin.

    Hi TieT,
Do you mean the Oulook will be crashed if all users log on to these 3 problematic clients to configurate their own Windows profiles and Outlook profiles? However, if uses log on to another client, it works?
Seems like this is an Outlook client issue, if possible, please reinstall OS for one client computer to test.
