Synch problem_canon D5 mark II rush

Hi,
DOP changed the camera settings after the first three shots of the first day of the shoot from 25fps to 23.98 fps and it was only discovered when the rush came to the editor, thats yours truly. The sound was recorded separately and I have no idea at what frame rate the sound recordist time-coded it.
The rush was ingested through EOS Movie plugin E1 (H264 to Apple Pro Res) at 23.98fps and I tried to synch it by using pluraleyes. The synch stays in place for initial few seconds and then starts deviating.
After reading various forum posts for last two weeks, I have tried the following with no effective results :
1. Conformed the video from 23.98 fps to 24 fps by using Cinema Tools. Created Sequence Preset 1080p with editing timebase :24fps. Imported the audio clip after creating the new sequence preset and then modified the timecode of the audio clip (Modify-Timecode- Deselect Source- Select Current) and then put it in the new sequence timeline.
2. Repeated the same for 25fps creating the Sequence Preset accordingly.
The clips still continue to go out of synch after few intial seconds.
My questions :
1. Where am I going wrong? How can I put into synch?
2. What is the best workflow for rush shot in 23.98? (This is a documentary which will only have digital 2k projections)
I will really appreciate any suggestion to solve this.

Lightroom mobile experience on iPad and iPhone

I've been using LR Mobile since the week it came out and have a few experiences to share--maybe I'm not understanding perfectly..
Last week, I updated my iPad to iOS 8.1.3. When I tasked it to enable offline editing for several collections, the program crashed. Restarting it caused it to crash again. Restarting the iPad fixed it. Uninstalled and reinstalled LR Mobile and seems to be working ok, however I need to select enable offline editing for each collection. The way the program reacted I suspect something in the software cannot handle a large number of requests to enable offline editing simultaneously. I believe, in this case, I had asked it to enable offline editing for about 15 collections and about 7000 photos. It seems ok 1 collection at a time.
Occasionally, maybe monthly, I will go to LR Mobile and find I am no longer signed in (occurs on both iPad and iPhone). It could be there was an update from Adobe (current version is 1.3.0)
The offline editing button on the front of the collection has inconsistent behavior. If offline editing is off, selecting it raises a window indicating how much storage is required and available and you have to say go ahead. If offline editing is on, selecting the button turns if off but never asks if you want to delete the photos that were already downloaded or not. I also find the two different states of the button are not particularly noticeable--I just sat down today to figure it out and can see the arrow drops when offline editing is on, but maybe adding a white background or something would make it more obvious what happened.
I don't think there is a way to choose a subset of collections for different devices. So, if I set up the collection on the Mac, both devices get it, although I can select offline editing independently. Selecting "Remove" on an iOS device simply removes the synch with LR marker from the desktop (and causes the collection to no longer be available on any iOS device).
Not too sure what the value is if you don't enable offline editing. Download is too slow to be particularly useful. I could see a photographer might want to download only the client set s/he is working with, but for me, I need to be able to look at all the photos while not connected to the web.
I think a pretty consistent thread has been to synch smart collections, and I sure vote for that!

SUPER 16 to scan offline .mov - WORKFLOW

I am just about to start synching a documentary film project rush(shot in super 16,aspect ratio 1:178, 25fps) which I got in the form of QT mov (offline 2k scan from lab)and the sound file in wav.
The edited version of the film in FCP 7.0 will be film out in 35mm (no negative cutting will be involved).
When I open the mov in QT it appears 4:3 and the same happens when I import it to FCP 7.
Will be really grateful if you can advise me regarding the workflow and the capture settings/sequence settings so that I can watch the rush in 16:9.

Set the browser to list view. Scroll to the right to find the anamorphic column.
DV PAL Anamorphic.
The material was telecined to DV and you're going to do a film out directly to 35mm from that? Really? They could even manage DV50?
You should get some instruction or read a good book or watch a good DVD on using FCP.

FCE doesn't work with 8-bit uncompressed material.
What exactly is the source media? (Open it in QuickTime and do *Window > Show Movie Inspector.* What does it say about the format/codec/size & fps of the media?)
As for using an AIC sequence, your material would need to be QT/AIC, not 8-bit uncompressed. And if you have 1080i material, it will do no good trying to put it in a 720p sequence.
When you do +FCE > Easy Setup,+ do any of the AIC setups show there? (You may have to click Format > All Formats to reveal all the Easy Setups.) Assuming they show there (and they should), you could select the HDV-AIC-1080i60 easy setup, create a new sequence, load your clip(s) into the new sequence, and see what results you get. But again, your material would really need to be AIC before you import it into FCE. (See MPEG Streamclip for possible conversion.)

New problems syncing

out of blue, when i hook up my iphone to the usb port to sync with my macbook, it sometimes doesn't sync.
this has happened the last few times i've tried. sometimes i reboot the iphone &/or the macbook and then sometimes it will sync, sometimes it won't. eventually, somehow, it responds after a few tries. no problem syncing my ipods.
i'm not a fan of resetting my iphone to it's original settings. the software on my macbook isn't the latest so everytime i get a new iphone or have to reset, i lose stuff, like my notes.
anyone else having this problem recently? any solutions/

I've had the same problem, and just within the past few weeks (perhaps in conjunction with a new iTunes install). When I synch, it appears to complete with no errors, but my calendar has not synched at all. This consistently happens, not intermittant.
As a workaround, I used HELP-Diagnostics, and selected iPhone synch (bottom check mark only), and it ran through diagnostics (in an open DOS window), and then reported SYNCH was working fine... and it did synch my iPhone! But the normal synch still does not work. Go figure.
I'm not a fan of a full restore either, so would really like to hear of any other solutions to this problem.

Synching has resulted in exclamation marks beside most of my i-tunes songs

After buying some new songs on i-tunes I then synched with my i-phone. There was some problem with the synch so I agreed to some message that mentioned erasing stuff (!!) Since doing that I have most of my songs on my iphone but virtually all the songs in my i-tunes library have an exclamation mark beside them and when I try to play them I get a message saying' the song could not be used because the file cannot be located'. It gives the option of locating it but when I click on that it takes me to a folder that only has the new songs I purchased today.
I figure I need to get the songs that are on my i-phone back onto my computer i-tunes folder but I'm nervous about doing anything else that may muck things up even more - any advice?

Marking podcasts as "unplayed" or synching last 10 podcasts on gen 5 nano and iTunes 11?

Since I upgraded to iTunes 11.1, I cannot mark podcasts I have listened to as "unplayed." Additionally, my iPod nano (gen 5) no longer synchs the last 10 podcasts, as I specificied in settings. It only synchs "uplayed" podcasts. So I cannot listen to any podcast more than once, even if I want to. Suggestions?

These settings have been buggy on previous iPods as well and were fixed with updates. I ended up either syncing to smart playlists or setting podcasts to sync all episodes. I never keep old episode so these settings work for me.

Check marked titles are not feasible to synch.Mac to Iphone6

hopefully one of you can help me:
I would like to synchronize my selected titles at my iTunes on my Mac to my iPhone 6. With my last iPhones this wasn't an issue, but when I synchronize now, it keeps songs that aren't selected and doesn't add songs I activated within my iTunes on my Mac with a check mark.
I tried different recommendations of the internet, saying to activate the "manual managing" of the titles, but I do not want to drag and drop every single title, especially I already marked them in the iTunes/Mac list.

X-marks 4.3.3 add-on will not synch and freezes at log-in box.

I have tried "advanced settings" and "repair" in addition to trying to overwrite remote bookmarks manually using x-marks add-on, however in both cases the log-in dialog box for x-marks pops up and then freezes before showing blank fields for username & pw...... I have disabled sync in firefox also to no avail thanks

Ipod Classic No Longer Synchs after Itunes Moved to New Computer

I successfully restored my itunes from old computer to external hard drive to new computer. Then I tried to sync iPod Classic 80 GB, but was told I couldn't synch it to new computer. So I restored Ipod to factory settings and tried synching again. It put on just a handful of songs I never heard of. Meanwhile my 10,000 or so songs iin iTunes on my computer did not make it to my iPod. How to get the itunes over to my now freshly restored iPod?

Please be patient, sync issues are time consuming, if you are lucky, just a Hard Rest and Restore will solved it.

So you can see all your 10,000 songs, in the new PC iTunes, and do you have any problem syncing the iPod using iTunes 10.5.3.3 on the old computer?
Can you do a Hard Reset as below
After charging till full charge, at least 2 hours (preferably 4 hours)
Toggle the Hold switch, make sure you dont see the red mark when you do the next step
Reset the iPod -> Press Menu and Center button simultaneously for about 10 secs till the Apple Logo comes ON
Then release the buttons
Select your preferred language.

Error in creation of text indexes and synching with user datastore

Hi
has any body encountered error in creating text indexes on 9.2.0.1 with user datastore. you can create them only with no-populate option. however once created after checking-in documents the indexes cannot be synched using ctx_ddl command manually.

The only thing that I have seen similar to this was worked around by updating the column to itself, then sync...not sure if this is the same thing you are running into, but it may be worth a try. See the Oracle Text FAQ - take special note of step c:

Hot synch iMac at home, PC at office

Just got an iMac and though I love it, there's a learning curve! I just installed OS 6.2 on both the Mac (Mac version) and PC version. I was told when buying the Mac that there's software to allow me to convert at one or both ends and/or into/out of the PDA (Tungsten E2). Advice? Nate

I'll answer your questions in RED below. The version of Palm desktop on your MAC should be 4.2.1. Is this what you have?
When synching, Calendar is incomplete. Some data imports; a great deal of other data is missing. It appears that items marked with category "Personal at Work" are missing. That category is present in the Categories list in Edit. Not sure why the data is missing.
Is there a difference between Datebook and Calendar? I presently have both conduits set for device to overwrite the Mac -- based on fact that the device has synched successfully from office PC and I wanted not to miss something. On computer, the "calendar" is called Datebook. The "calendar" is the name newer devices use instead of datebook. Datebook was the name for calendar on older devices. When you sync, the unused conduit should disappear.
Synch to iMac: no addresses imported at all. Make sure the conduit for contacts and addresses are set to syncronize the files and see if that will work.
Hotsynch log showed "Date book did nothing" "Contacts did nothing" (although that was checked for device to overwrite -- or are 'Contacts' the addresses?) and showed "Address Book did nothing" If both conduits did nothing, then no data sync'ed. I am not sure what the cause of this is at this point.
Log showed "Calendar synchronization failed Calendar failed (error = there is not enough memory.") Is this on the handheld or the MAC?
Memos et al. -- how do I manage preferences? E.g. deleting "date" from the menu bar? Not sure what you mean. Are you referring to the status bar on the bottom of the screen and the clock icon? You cannot remove the clock from the status bar, that I am aware of. Look in the user guide for the information regarding managing preferences.
On iMac version, where do I hide/show Private categories? How do I show/hide "Daily" beside the monthly view of Calendar? This is not an option in Palm desktop for MAC.
Palm Help consistently resulted in this error message: "Internet connection required
The help topic you’re opening requires an Internet connection. Choose Apple > System Preferences, and then click Network to check your network settings and, if necessary, connect to the Internet."
I followed directions. I am on internet through Safari and connection is wireless (e.g. I'm sending this.) What am I missing? I am not sure about this error message and why it is happening.

Hot Synch problems with cradle and Palm Vx

I had to hard boot my Palm Vx for digitizing errors. Now I can't get the pda and Hot Synch Manager to work.
How do I set up the pda so if talks to the Palm 414EN.exe desktop download. I have the old cradle attached
to a serial port on my work PC.

Hello Jay and welcome to the Palm forums.
The trick is that once you have installed Palm Desktop 4.1.4, in the HotSync Manager, you use the Setup... menu item to configure HotSync Manager to listen to the COM/serial port your cradle is connected to. I had my Vx configured to use COM1 on my Windows 2000 box.
Also, make sure that your Windows user account is a member of the Windows administrators security group before you attempt to install Palm Desktop.

Synching i5s to new PC with iTunes; i5s playlists do not show up in iTunes

I am trying to synch my i5s to iTunes on a new PC running Windows 7 and after synching, the existing playlists on my i5s do not show up in iTunes. All the songs are there but not the playlists. How can I fix this?

Thank you. You were right. They all ended up being there and I copied them to the new computer and used the restore option etc. But now I have a new problem.
Even though all the 7000-odd songs show up in my iTunes library, for every single one if I want to play them, it tells me it can't find their location (with the little exclamation mark). What should I do?
