Synch two phones together

I have a three questions.
First, My wife and I are sharing an Apple ID because we want to share any and all purchased applications with one another.  Is this neccesary or is there another way to swap apps, music, movies, etc...?
Second, If we are using the same Apple ID are we able to synch our phones with icloud?  And if so, how do I do this?
Third, I synched my phone to my MacBook.  Now I want to synch and upload my wife's phone to my MacBook.  iTunes is saying my MacBook has already been synched to an iPhone.  My options are to set up the wife's phone as a new phone, or restore her phone from my phone's backup.  If I synch her phone as a new phone will my phone's info be erased?  Will her info be uploaded without data loss?

There is no problem sharing the same Apple ID for store purchases (apps and music).  You should not, however use the same ID for iCloud.  Doing so will merge synced content on the two phones together (such as contacts and calendars).  To maintain separation use different iCloud accounts with different Apple IDs.  The only downside to doing so is that you won't share the same Photo Stream pictures.  This article may be of interest: http://www.macstories.net/stories/ios-5-icloud-tips-sharing-an-apple-id-with-you r-family/.
Also, do not use the same Apple ID for iMessage or you will not maintain separate messaging identities (you will starting getting each other's messages, messages will be misaddressed as coming from the other person's phone, etc.)
As far as syncing, when you sync a phone to a new iTunes library iTunes will erase any iTunes content and replace it with the content of the new library.  Unless there's a good reason to switch, she should continue to sync with the computer and iTunes library she has been using.

  • We synched two phones to one computer and updated both.

She went through and deleted my contacts on her phone personally. They then were deleted off my phone. How can I get them back? I had tons of information that is now "gone"

You may be able to restore a previous backup: iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software.
Bear in mind that when using two phones on one computer that you cannot have separate information such as contacts or calendars. You can sync a different set of applications and music, but they come from the same main library.
The only way you can each have completely different data for two phones is to have two Apple IDs and separate user accounts on the computer.
iDevices are not multi-user devices like the ocmputer.

  • Synch two blackberries together

I am trying to synch the calanders of my blackberry and my husbands blackberry together.  Is there a way to synch both of the blackberries so we can see each others calanders?

Sure, sync one of the BB via Desktop Manager to Outlook, then sync the second BB in the same manner. Then, again the first, and all will have the same calendar data.

  • Synching two sequences together with two laptops

Does anyone know how I could hook up two different logic sequences with the same metronome speed to where both would be in sync with each other? I have two mac books and two MOTU 896HDs. Would you use a word clock cable?
Mac Book   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

No, you don't use word clock for that. The way to do it is with MIDI Time Code (MTC). Simplest way is with a midi cable between both computers and setting one computer master and the other slave. Check your Logic manual about synchronization. If you don't have any midi interface, you can use an ethernet cable and configure the Network device in AudioMidiSetup as a midi interface. Also, you probably want to configure MMC to have one set of transport controlling both computers.

  • Verizon change my plan when I had two phones tied together. Their mistake, but won't fix it. Do I take my 5 phones and go???

Do I take my 5 phones and go else where????
Family dealing with live threatening illness has caused delay in staying on phone with Verizon to clear this up. I've been with Verizon since 2001 and I have 5 phones with them. I had unlimited data on 2 phones since data was available on cell phones. Now I only have it on one. They crossed my childrens phone with mine and this took off my unlimited data on my person phone. The other phone was not affected.  On Jan. 14, 2015 they see where this happened and now say they can't change it back. "We know they have the codes to change this".
Nov. 2013 I placed order for two new phones for Christmas presents for kids.
Half the phones arrived and with the wrong size phone cases.
    No phones until AFTER Christmas.
Due to family member in ICU for a month. Mom couldn't stay on phone with Verizon customer service, trying to clear this all up.
Phones, all but two are working, for a short period, then three not working right.
Kept calling and on Feb 2, 2014 Verizon wirless told me to take the phones to a local Verizon retail store to have them change the settings on the two phones. At that time Verizon changed my data plan service while 2 of my cell phones were connected together. Voice and messaging service wasn't corrected until Apri 2014l and new service plan was in place from date of first call about mixup, (Feb 2, 2014)
Repeated calls to fix situation lead to retail store, (Roseville, CA. on Douglas BLVD) removing sim card from new Iphone 5S, pocketing it and installing brand new sim card, but nothing done with Iphone 4S (that was still connected to 5S).
Two phones are separated now: "After Mother was getting all daughter's text messages/pictures from boyfriend and friends!!!!! EEWWWWW" and daughter got Mother's messages from everyone: "Oh, not so cool".
Phone call Aug. 30, 2014 lead to me being put on hold for "the next available representative" for 3 hours, 11 minutes and then the call was just disconnected.
I recorded the whole phone call on my Iphone 5S video function, which I can provide if needed.
More attempts to get unlimited data plan back on my phone has been meet with all "training excuses" taught to service reps. and I'm told they can't restore my original plan.
I know there is a code and the correct numbers that can restore this. I'm told this each time Verizon calls and wants myself or a family member to upgrade.
The phone call to customer service on Aug. 30, 2014 was to report my deaf daughter's phone being stole at the hospital ER. An order was placed and confirmed for a new phone to be sent overnight to my daughter.
The phone never arrived, no call from insurance company or Verizon as to why the phone was returned to them.
More phone calls lead to the discovery that "Leonard had typed in address incorrectly".
I had to go out and buy daughter a prepaid phone as texting is her only way of communicating her needs.
Verizon sent me notice the service to said phone had to have service charges restarted again, because it had been suspended too long. I was charged for said stolen, not replaced, invisible phone.
Received call Jan 14, 2015, sales rep. (female). Asking me to purchase new equipment. ?????
I explained all past issues and she contacted "Customer Loyalty" supervisor Lupee. at 11:00am. Arrangements were put in place for Lupee to return my call after he reviewed case on his desk.No call yet, I called them at 12:51 pm. The girl that answered asked me if there was a time set for the call back? I told her I understood he would call right back. 12:56 pm Lupee called back, (Note: look how fast the line of communication was on their end????) and we talked till about 2:pm.
After talking all that time, this is what Lupee had to say: "He isn't in position to make changes to my service plan......wanted me to take new one "The More Plan". I only want my "Unlimited Data Plan" back. I have now stated this 9 times to him.  He was able to see where plan was changed, *without my authorization". Only corp. can make changes at this date. I'm not asking for reimbursement for additional fees charge all this time, I just want my "Unlimited Data Restored". Stop trying to talk me into another plan, to buy another phone, etc. "Please".
I'll call again when I have a whole day to waste.
I'LL KEEP ALL OF YOU UP TO DATE ON THIS ADVENTURE AS WE GO ALONG. I STILL HAVE HOPE THAT THEY WILL COME THROUGH SO I DON'T HAVE TO GO TO "S".
Today had to get number changed for the "old" phone that my daughter needs and I'm Paying For. The old number is a drug ring!!!!!!!!!
I will proceed with complains to corp and FCC and placing on Face Book.
We'll also contact 13 on Kurt News.

  • Can I synch two iPhones to the same apple user ID?

My husband & I have shared our Apple ID but it hasn't been a concern until our purchase of two iPhone 4s phones yesterday. I have synched mine up with our account & I use the username & password when it's requested. Not sure what to do for my husband's phone. Help anyone. Thanks!

Allan I have my iPod, MacBook and iPad synched with it. How will synching my husband's phone impact my music & Apps? When I synch my phone do I just uncheck his apps so they don't go on my phone and he does the same? Also for instance on game center on my iPhone I had to enter our apple ID and password to get in. Can he enter that same name and password on his phone. Sorry if these questions seem done. I'm learning. :-)

  • HT4913 one of my two phones accepted imatch and the other says that i meed to subscribe. Why?

one of my two phones accepted imatch and the other says that i meed to subscribe. Why?

Try resetting the one dropping calls more often.  Hold the on/off and home switches together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, consider restoring it using iTunes.

  • How can I scroll through my playlists under "music" when synching my phone?  Using a mac book air and can't scroll.

I keep synching my phone to remove playlists and I can't scroll through my options under "music" in the synch.  I actually can't scroll through the landing page fro synch either.  Is there something special I need to be doing?

How are you trying to scroll?
Are you using two fingers on the touchpad?

  • HT1473 SYNCING TWO ITUNES TOGETHER?!

i got a new itunes account and i want to put music from my phone into the new itunes account's library, how do i do sync the two itunes together without deleting all my music from my iphone?

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  It simply mirrors the content of the computer to which it is synced.  The sync is one way - computer to iphone.  The only exception is itunes purchases.  File>Devices>Transfer Purchases
You should copy everythning from your old computer/library, or your backup copy, to your new one.

  • Two phones under same icloud!

My iphone 4 and my partners iphone 4S are both connected to my icloud, and we didn realise it would sync and put both of our contacts together on both phones, we didnt realise and I deleted all his contacts off my phone which ended up his contacts being erased off his phone also, so we only got my contacts on both phones. How do i get his contacts back up? I have restored my phone on itunes but nothing has changed as we never backed up our phones. Need help!!

WOW! I know there is a sharing thing on iTunes but I didn't know it would go THAT far. I have two phones that synced contacts because I chose to restore from a back up I had made on iTunes. I'm not too familiar with undeleting things in the cloud. If I find something I will post.
Does your computer have the contacts in an application like Outlook? or Google Contacts? You could get the from there using iTunes Sync if they are on your computer anywhere. Also, if you ever used android you may have a contacts backup under your google account.

  • I synced two phones to iCloud and now both phones are synced HELP!

I synced two phones using the same iCloud account, now all of our contacts are synced and whenever I send a text or call the other user gets it.  Is there a way to fix this??! I created my own iCloud account and am still having the problem! I just deleted iCloud all together, but the problem is still there.  Someone please help!

    Hello moonshine66,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like you keep getting a download icon from iCloud. You might want to delete songs off iCloud. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.

  • Unsyncing two phones

I purchased a new iPhone for my wife now using her old iPhone the verizon  store "sync" them now everything she puts on hers is on mine, etc. how do we "undo" this syncing them together, we tried creating a new account on iTunes but it would not let us her new phone keeps coming up.

You need to setup iMessage on one of the two phones using a different AppleID.

  • Sync calendars between two phones

Have two iphones4s, how can I setup/use iCloud to synch the calendars between these two phones?

TThank you for the reply.  I don't plan to pay more to increase iCloud size as in principal I don't want to...in any event, this is weird.  I have plugged my wife into our iPad (we share it) as primary user. I linked my calendar to show on the iPad and I can now see her work schedule on my Apple calendar. She however cannot see MY calendar on her iPhone. Any thoughts?
i Prefer to use my Sunset App calendar and I can sync it flawlessly with my google/gmail calendar. Sunset refuses to show my wife's calendar which now shows on my phone (I suppose perhaps that's a separate issue).
Anyways...any idea on how to get my wife's phone to show MY calendars?

  • One Apple ID, two phones, diff amts of storage (only ONE user)

Sorry for getting shout-y, but all the 2 device/1 account questions I'm reading involve how to manage/share/hide between two users and that isn't my issue.
I have an iPhone 4.  I recently got an iPhone 5.  The 4 has 32g of space, the 5 only 16.  I'm an app junkie.  I don't use iCloud (and would prefer not to if possible), don't use photostream (at the moment).  I always sync by cable, directly to my computer.
I couldn't pass up the 5 since I got it for a great price, but the lack of storage is an issue for me until I get my storage/charging case in a few months.  My plan is to use the 5 as my "phone" and keep on it the apps I use most often.  The 4 will have everything I use, including the memory-hoarding games and podcasts and music.  Plus as I come across more apps/games I can dl them to the 4, try them out, and then if I decide to keep them, load them onto the 5.  My IP/SIM is going to be transferred to the 5, the 4 will be wifi-only.
I just synced the 4 and updated/backed it up.  I am currently syncing the 5 to the same Apple ID on the same computer/iTunes account.  I have already gotten the warning that there is not enough room to install all the apps, which I expected.  My 4 is 1 G short of being full.
    These are my questions:
    - will I be able to get my iMessages on both?  (I assume yes to the 4, when in wifi)
    - if I was to turn on photostream, is there some way to be able to have pics/videos I take easily transferred between the two phones?  Since one has more storage, if I could send stuff to the 4 until I get a chance to sync/backup, then delete it from the 5 to save space, that would be cool.  (Also handy if I need a pic on the other unit which isn't with me).
    - what happens when I sync?  Besides the two phones having different content, one has half the memory of the other.  I'm worried that each time I sync it will overwrite with the other phone's content, etc.
For that last one- I have debated transferring my Apple ID to the 5, and once everything is set up properly, creating a new Apple ID for the 4, and then putting all my **** on there.  That way I can sync each one without cross-contaminating each backup.  But I really like the idea of being able to go into the app store and just pulling in whichever apps I already bought on whichever phone without having to log in/out.
Which is the better way to do this?

Also, I'd prefer to keep the same ID on both so I will keep access to my calendar/contacts/etc on both devices.  Would I be able to share reminders and voice memos and the like as well?  And how often would they update each other?  If I edit a contact on the 5, and the 4 is in wifi, assuming they're both on my same ID, will the contact update on the 4?

  • I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS. Tried synching my phone through iTunes (11.0.1 I think... on a 2009 Macbook Pro). Now when I connect to iTunes, it says it does not recognise the content on my phone. Is this because my phone (and laptop) are too old?

I have a 16GB iPhone 3GS. Tried synching my phone through iTunes (11.0.1 I think... on a 2009 Macbook Pro). Now when I connect to iTunes, it says it does not recognise the content on my phone. Is this because my phone (and laptop) are too old?
Also, when I tried to Restore the settings, an Error Message pops up that says " The iPhone software update server could not be contacted. The requested resource was not found.
I'm trying to free up space on my phone by removing [literally] thousands of old photos which were originally synched to the phone, because I had forgotten to uncheck the photos button when I synched it ages ago.
I have also tried synching it on my 24" iMac (running OSX Snow Leopard). But again, when I try restoring the phone through itunes, it says the file is corrupted. It sggests unplugging the device, and then plugging it in again. I have done this numerous times with no success.
I'm guessing it must be because my phone (and versions of iTunes, and OSX) are all too old.
    Please can anybody help.
    Cheers,
    Dan_nz.
