Synching a Treo650and Centro with same computer

I have been using a Treo650 and have been synching it with my PC (Win XP Pro SP2) for many years. There are also some 3rd party apps on it. I have recently acquired a Centro which has a CDMA phone in it. I want to carry on using the Treo as phone+PDA and want to use the Centro to just have another device where I can store my contacts and databases, etc. In other words after I synch the Treo I with the PC, I would like to synch the Centro as well so as to get the information on that as well.
With the above objective, I created another user name in HotSync for the Centro and tried to synch it with Palm Desktop (6.2). I also installed a copy of the third party app on the Centro. It seemed to synch alright except for one error message which said "Couldn't open file PMTracedatabase on handheld", but when I looked on the Centro, I saw that while the 3rd party app had been correctly installed, no data at all (addresses, tasks, databases, etc) had been transferred to the Centro.
Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Hello javedsha and welcome to the Palm forums.
I would suggest that you HotSync the Centro to your computer and assign it a unique HotSync ID. The Treo 650 and Centro have different versions of Palm OS installed on them and you will run into trouble if you are synchronizing both devices under the same HotSync ID.
Once you have performed a HotSync operation with the Centro to your PC and given it a new HotSync ID, I suggest that you export the data from the Treo 650's contacts, calendar, etc and then import them into the HotSync ID for the Centro.
Once you create a second HotSync ID on your computer, you will see both the Treo 650's and the Centro's HotSync ID appear in a pull down menun in the top right of the Palm Desktop application window which allows you to switch between the two HotSync IDs.

Podcast synching on multiple macs with same account

How do I get my podcasts to synch on multiple macs and therefore ipods with same itunes authorized account, ie the subscriptions I have on home computer don't show up on my work itunes account and therefore when I'ved watched flying one way, when I land I want to load the next set of episodes, but find the need to create entirely new subscriptions?

I was able to resolve the problem using addMessageCountListener and messagesAdded method, as suggested by you.
I am now facing another problem. Whenever a new message is received, code inside messagesAdded method gets executed. Here I am trying to spawn another thread and do some stuff. But this new thread is not starting at all. It goes into some JavaMail:EventQueue and does nothing. What is the concept of EventQueue here? How can I get this new thread executed?
Also will there be synchronization problems in messagesAdded method. Say I received a message and I am processing it in the messagesAdded method. In the mean time another message comes up. How will this behave.

I am using the Good for Enterprise app to synch my outlook email and when I try to turn on ICloud to synch my music in ITunes I get a warning that I will not be able to synch my Iphone 4S with my computer. Does this mean my office PC or home Mac?

I am using Good For Enterprise on my Iphone 4s to connect with my Office PC Outlook email system. I am having trouble synching my Itunes music from my Mac at home with my IPhone 4s. I am considering using ICloud to share the music as I also have an IPad2. When I go to turn on the ICloud application, I get a message that alerts me to the fact I will no longer be able to synch with my computer. Does that mean with my Office PC and my Outlook email, or my Mac and my home email and other applications? I seem to never tire of saying this. It was for Apple when they first announced 10.7 to disclose this. Yes, it was widely reported -- or rather, rumored -- but not by Apple. And many people who have gotten caught by this assumed that Apple itself would have told them beforehand about the loss of this very important feature which they had come to rely on. As far as I know, not even in fine print, does this appear anywhere on the Lion announcement or any of its links.
I am not saying Apple had to continue Rosetta in Lion, or forever, just that if it was going to be dropped, it should have been made known.
As relative "insiders" we should not forget that many people don't have the time, habit or interest to do this kind of research. I think it is a breach of trust that Apple has never directly made this announcement or given people the opportunity to decide beforehand if giving up their PPC apps for a new OS is a worthwhile tradeoff.

Confused about synching multiple phones to the same computer with different content: itunes wants to erase everything??

I have had an i5 for some time, but my partner just bought one to replace her 3GS. We both synch to my itunes, and have been doing so for as long as I can recall. When we got her i5, we backed up her 3GS and reloaded the content into her i5. So far so good. Now, this couple of weeks later, I decided I wanted to put some of the movies, music, etc. that I have on my itunes library on her phone. I had previous installed some of the apps that I have there without trouble. However, when I tell my itunes to put movies (etc) onto her phone, it warns me (upon apply) that this phone has been sync'ed to another itunes, and that I can do what I am asking, but it will erase everything on the phone now! I cancelled this op at this point.
As far as I know neither of us has sync'ed her phone to any other itunes, although she has probably downloaded stuff directly into the phone using the onboard itunes. Is that what it's warning me about? Is there any way to either pull the content off the phone, or merge the content with what she had locally downloaded? If not, I'm willing to sacrifice the few things that she had locally loaded as long as it's not going to, for example, erase all her photos, and contacts, and everything else as well at the same time!
This is all rather confusing to me. It's actually rather confusing that one can synch multiple devices with different settings at all, and I'm extremely surprised that it works at all. Can someone clarify what's going on here? What I should/shouldn't do? What I can/can't do?

First make sure you have authorised the iTunes computer you are using for all of the associated apple ID's via the Store Menu>Authorise this computer and enter the apple ID and password used on the phone (repeat for as many apple ID's are in use on the phone).
Then right-click (or Control Click) on the name of the phone and select Transfer Purchases (this can also be found under File>Device>Transfer purchases). This will back up all of the purchases on the device to your computer, then when you sync with the phone it will put them back on even though it has just removed them.
Its a round about way of doing it but she shouldn't loose anything as long as the computer is authorised for all of the apple ID's used on the phone

Apps can be re-downloaded, and you won't be charged again for a purchsased app as long as you use the same iTunes account to re-download the app that was used to purchase the app originally.
All apps - all paid and free apps include DRM protection which is tied to the iTunes account that was used to download the apps. Apps cannot be transferred to or combined with another iTunes account.

Migrated and now 2 computers with same computer name?(user account)

I used the Migration Assistant to move info from iBook to my MacBook.
I don't know how but now on my MacBook I have a copy of my user account from my iBook.
Now, I have two user accounts on my MacBook, the original user account created when I started using the computer and now, my old iBook user account.
Is this normal?
Later, I would like to create a network using the two computers on my Airport Extreme n Base station.
Will it be a problem to have two computers with identical user accounts?

There is not a problem with having identical usernames on two different computers. You also suggested the "Computer name" was the same. Is this the computer name at the top of the "Sharing" preference panel? If so, those need to be different.

Syncing iPhone and iPod touch with same computer/iTunes account

My son has an iPod Touch that we sync on my wife's computer and iTunes account. She is planning on getting an iPhone and I'm worried that when she attempts to sync her new iPhone that she'll get all of my son's iPod Touch apps. Is there a way to keep apps separate for each device?

You can sync as many devices as you want to the same iTunes account, there is no limit. You can have the same content on each device or different content, the choice is yours. iTunes will keep everything straight, by device, upon subsequent syncs. Just select what content or no content you want on your wife's phone, itunes will keep it all straight, including separate backups.

Synching existing iPod Nano with new computer

My old computer died and I need to install the iPod software onto a new machine. I heard that if you plug your iPod into a machine other than the intial one that you started with all songs will be lost.
How do I make sure that when I plug my existing iPod into my new machine NOTHING will be lost? The only place I have these songs are on my iPod and I don't want to lose everyting I have already paid for.

switch the preferences for updating to the iPod to manual instead of automatic
when u plug in the ipod and itunes launches it is going to ask you if you want to link the iPod to this itunes SELECT NO... if you select yes then your music will definately be erased from the ipod and your music will go bye bye.. after you do that go thru these options

unfortunately you cannot use the itunes to retrieve the music from the iPod back into itunes...
You can use Yamipod to transfer music from iPod to computer.

I have seen this computer register up to 32gb of ram (8gb in each slot of 4) so why does Apple say 16gb max ram?

Apple only tests memory in configurations that were available at the time they designed a particular model. 32 GB will work fine in your Mid - 2011 iMac. Just be sure to purchase it from a vendor known to support Macs. At present there are only two that I have personally used and can recommend, Crucial and OWC / MacSales.

FCPX 10.0.8 does the 30 seconds of beachball for every single action. Did not do this with 10.0.3. Same computer. Same video footage.

I upgraded FCPX 10.0.3 to 10.0.8, then upgraded all the old footage per instructions. Now, with same computer and importing new video footage from the same camera as before (my iPhone), every single action (keyboard or mouse) takes a minute of spinning beachball before it executes. Can't be memory shortage--it's the same computer. Can't be the video quality--it's just iPhone, as before. I made no preference changes. What's up?

I am a big fan of OnyX, which has bailed me out of problems many times (and which DS Store mentions). One of the functions it offers is a Verify function; it can be set to find corrupted preference files.I also have found that their cache cleaning function works well.

I have ITunes on my laptop for my IPOD Classic. Just got an IPOD Touch and want to sync using same laptop. Will I have cross-over sync problems between the two IPODS ? ?

Synch Centro Contacts with new computer

My computer crashed. After fixing that,I tried to synchronize the data on my Palm Centro with the desktop. I uploaded the CD and synched with the Centro after using the hotsynch mode " Handheld overwrites desktop". However, only the Memos, To Do and Media synched up. The Contacts/Address book did not synch and I do not see them on the desktop. How do I synch the contacts so I can see them on the desktop?
