Synching iPad purchases to iPhone

App purchased on iPad does not show up as purchased item in the App Store on the iPhone.  Anyone know how I get it to show up in the app store on iPhone?

If you are using the same ID on both devices and the app doesn't show up, the only reason that I can think of is that the app is an iPad only app. I believe that some apps are iPad only.
If that's not the cde in your situation, try refreshing the app store app, back out of the app and then go back in. Close it and then relaunch the app.
Double tap the home button and tap and hold down on the app store icon in the task bar until it wiggles then tap the minus sign to close the app. Tap the home button. Launch the App Store app again and see if It shows up.

  • Synch iPad via wifi or Bluetooth

What is the advantages / disadvantages of synching iPad using an iPhone 4 personal hotspot via Bluetooth or wifi?

As iOS 5 has not yet been released, the only people who have access to it are developers who are bound by a non-disclosure agreement. Therefore, no one who has any direct experience with syncing over WiFi can answer. All will be revealed on the 12th.
    Best of luck.

Will I need to purchase iWork for my iPad if I purchase an iPhone 5s? Everybody knows the iPhone 5s with IOS7 gives iWork for free. I assume that if I buy an iPhone 5s (or 5c) then iWork would be listed as a "purchased" app in my itunes store under my account. My iPad retina is in the same account... or are keynote, pages, and numbers completely seperate between ipad and iphone? I know they would be a seperate purchase for my Powerbook. Thanks so much for your help!

    Hi,
I was able to load the Productivity Suite / Free !!  on both my iPad mini and my iPhone 5s with no problems and at no cost.

  • IPad 3 and iPhone 4S won't synch with iTunes on Mac book pro. Error message says I need to have version 10.6.3 pr later for iTunes.

iPad 3 and iPhone 4S won't synch with iTunes on Mac book pro. Error message says I need to have version 10.6.3 or later  for iTunes.  Mac iOS version 10.5.8 and iTunes on Mac is 10.6.1. iPad and iPhone version is 6.0(10A403). When I check for updates on the Mac book pro it says software versions are up to date.
When I check for iTunes version  10.6.3 it looks like it is for snow leopard operating system which I am not on. How to I get my devices to sync with computer. Everything worked prior to iOS 6 upgrade on remote devices.

    I'm having the same problem.
iPhone 4s won't sync with my Macbook Pro.
I iust updated the iPhone to iOS6 (thought it wasn't syncing before the update either).
Macbook Pro running Mac OS 10.5.8
iTunes 10.6.3 (i.e. latest update - which hasn't had an issues apart from syncing).
I tried 3 different USB sync cables. Still not syncing.
Do I really have to update my Mac OS to 10.6.8 in order to sync my phone ? I thought as long as you have iTunes 10.6.3 you're ok...
Is there a way to update to Mac OS 10.6.8 (or later) without wiping the hard drive and doing a new install?..
    thanks

  • HT204053 I have 5 apple devices (3 iPads and 1 iPhone 3 and 1 iPhone 4s). They are all registered to the same Apple ID but used by different people in my family. If one of us gets a new ID, does that mean we can't access purchases already made?

Help appreciated.... Bascially 2 of the devices (an IPad and the iPhone 3) are used by me and the others by my wife, son and daughter. They all sync to the same iTunes library so I am thinking that if the other 3 get their own apple IDs, they will not be able to access the existing library.
Please note that though a fan of apple stuff, I am utterely useless at using them so I am sorry if my question is naieve or ill informed!
    Thanks in advance for help.

You can all have independent AppleIDs for iCloud or iMessage etc, but share the same one for iTunes Store / AppStore purchases.

  • HT204053 I am looking at purchasing an iphone and we have a ipad and ipod at home all under the same apple id. I would like my daughter to have a seperate id then myself for signing in for itunes, etc...what do I need to do to make this happen.

I am looking at purchasing an iphone and have an my daughter has an ipad at home and I want to have seperate apple ids when we use them and download and such.. What do I need to do?

If you want her to have a new iTunes account then there are instructions on this page for how to create one : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2731
Or if you don't want to give credit card details then follow the instructions on this page when creating the account : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2534
You can then use that account on the phone (Settings > iTunes & App Store for the stores, Settings > iCloud etc)
All of your downloads from your existing account will remain tied to that account. If you want to use the same computer for syncing then you can do do, you can have more than one account authorised on a computer's iTunes (Store > Authorise This Computer menu option), but only one account can be logged in for purchasing/downloading. But if you use iTunes Match, automatic downloads or redownload an account's past purchases then you may tie that computer to that account for 90 days : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4627 - so you won't be able to do any of those three things on a different account until the 90 days have completed (it shouldn't affect being able to make new purchases)

  • Calendar app that will synch between iMac 10.6.8, iPad 2 and iPhone 5

I am looking for a calendar app that will synch my 3 devices (iMac 10.6.8, iPad 2 and iPhone 5).  I tried upgrading my iMac to the latest version, whatever cat that is.  I hated it ANd it didn't synch properly.  Most events duplicated and some up to 5-6 times.  I might have stuck it out and tried to figure out the replicating issue but I despised the entire interface to downgraded back to 10.6.8.  I am thinking there has to be an app out there that will successfully synch calendars between these devices but from my search in the App Store, most seem to be geared to mobile devices only but I want to be able to see my events when I am at home on my iMac, too.  Does anyone know of an independent app that will do this?

  • Can I sync my iPad (purchased first) with my iPhone (purchased second). I have apps on my iPad that I would like to sync to my iPhone before giving the iPad to my little sister. Help!

I received the iPad a little over a year ago as a gift from my parents. I loved it so much that I purchased the iPhone4S and I was wondering if it were possible to transfer the Apps that I previously purchased on the iPad to my iPhone. If this isn't possible can I ask why not? I don't understand why purchasing something and paying good money for it doesn't make it truly yours to be used on your devices. I want to give the iPad to my little sister and have my parents set up a new account and "refresh" the iPad (if you can even do that) for her but I'm afraid of losing the Apps that I paid good money for just for them to dissappear. I just want to make the iPad something my sister can call her own. Right now it is connected to me and my account so I would like to change this as well if possible. I am eager to learn more and I look forward to any responses. Thank you for your time.

If you want to have the mostly same content on both devices - it probably makes more sense to restore your iPad from the iPhone backup. this will put all of your app settings and email settings onto the iPad and any app data and game saves as well will transfer to the iPad.
You still want to sync the iPad so that all of the apps and photos that are in your iTunes library transfer over to the iPad. Restoring from the backup doesn't restore apps, music, synced photos, movies, books, TV shows and podcasts - you will still need to sync that content to the iPad.
I have pretty much have the same content on my iPad and on my Touch, but I eliminated the Movies and TV shows from the Touch and some apps as well. Remember that iPhone specific apps may run OK on the iPad - they will run in the iPhone smaller screen size and while you can double the size by tapping on the 2X button in the apps, they will be lower resolution because you just doubling the size of the pixels and the apps look kind of crappy on the iPad - they may work - they just look bad.
I do not auto sync at all. Nor does iTunes open automatically when my iDevices are connected. I start iTunes on my own and I select all of the content - piece by piece - app by app and so on - as I go along. Once you get through the initial set up - iTunes remembers each device and it's content for the next time that you sync.

  • Purchases on iphone or ipad are shown in itunes on my PC (greyed out) but are not transferred

Purchases on iphone or ipad are shown in itunes on my PC (greyed out) but are not transferred

Exactly. The transfer job starts, collects the information on new purchases ans finishes without any error messages. New files are shown in itunes with the 'sync' icon on the left and are greyed out ... it is the same with puchases (movies and tv shows only!) on my iphone 4 and ipad2.

  • When I purchased my iphone and ipad last week they told me I would connect the ipad to the internet through the phone but can get niether the phone nor the ipad to see the internet?

When I purchased my iphone and ipad last week they told me I would connect the ipad to the internet through the phone but can get niether the phone nor the ipad to see the internet?

Connecting the iPad to the internet via the iPhone is done by setting up a personal HotSpot, but you have to have that supported by your carrier and have to have established the account to do so.
On the  iPhone, Settings > General > Network > Set Up Personal Hotspot

  • How to transfer purchased iPad applications to iPhone

Hi, I noticed that a few applications I purchased in iPad is not recognised as purchased but just as trial version. Does anyone know how to transfer these purchased apps?
    Thanks.

    Hi kjlapen,
Welcome to the Support Communities!  I would suggest you transfer your iPad purchases to your computer using iTunes.  Then connect your iPad to the computer and add the content that you want to your iPhone.  Not all iPad apps are compatible with iPhone, so check the compatibility in the app's information page.

  • How do I get a purchased ring tone from my iPad to my iPhone?

I purchased a new ring tone and wasn't thinking.  I downloaded it to my iPad instead of my iPhone.  I don't know how to transfer it from the iPad to my iPhone.

Transfer it to your iTunes library, on your computer, then sync it to your phone. Connect your iPad, iTunes running, without syncing, right-click the iPad in the left device pane: Transfer Purchases. Then, sync it to your phone.

  • What if I purchased an iPhone app instead of an iPad app

WhaT if I purchased an iPhone app for my iPad instead of an iPad 2app?  Can I exchange it in the app store or do I need to just buy the right app?
I realize it was my fault...I am new to buying apps at the  iTunes store

If there is a separate iPad version (not usually the case, but some apps do have separate versions) you might be able to plead your case with iTunes customer support and get a refund on the original purchase.  No guarantees, but they have been known to be flexible at times. :-)

If you're using a PowerPC Mac, no.
If you're using an Intel Mac, phone the online Apple Store and order a Mac OS X 10.6 DVD.
