Synching iPhoto & iPod Touch Problems?

I have always synched my macbook iPhoto library with my iPod Touch and until recently this has always worked well. The last 2 times I have tried to do it though, the synch has only copied 4 photos from the last 2 new events uploaded into iPhoto. I have checked the photos and they are all jpeg formats. I cant think of anything else to do. I am using iPhoto 11, 9.3
Has anyone else experienced this problem? If you have, how did you resolve it.
Thanks
Heather

Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for the iPod Photo Cache.
Trash it. Start iPhoto and try sync again.

How do i synch my pdf/books to my Itunes  library. I was able to synch my ipod touch app purchases by transferring them but can't figure out how to do my pdfs. Also why is my ipod picture greyed out-the one that lets my move the icons around.
I am afraid if i don't get the pdfs into my book library, i will lose them when i update to IOS 5-is that true?

thank you-i have to check into the authorization and the account-i gave my husband my old ipod when i updated last year so both at one time have been on this computer but as it stands, it only comes up with my device when i plug into Itunes.
i don't think i have any restrictions for installing apps although my normal way of doing it is to download from the ipod touch. i did find that all i had to do was right click on my device name and got the message to transfer my apps and then they showed up in my library. Also when i clicked the synch checkbox i was able to view the ipod touch picture without it being greyed out. after all that i was able toupdate to IOS 5 successfully except my videos and podcast, and pdfs  did not come over. This confuses me since i had dragged them over to my library to make sure that i had everything in my library and on my device. Not a big problem, since i just dragged them in itunes from my library to my device but sometimes i wonder if i understand the big picture:)

  • When I synch my ipod touch it only lets 50 videos get on ipod . I can't get the other videos on even though there's plenty of space available and it's set to synch all movies

When I synch my ipod touch it only lets 50 videos get on ipod . I can't get the other videos on even though there's plenty of space available and it's set to synch all movies. What am I missing?

i had the same problem. did a lot of research..my phone became unusuable. do you use the htc mail? if so that is your problem. there is a bug with it that it keeps eating your memory until you cannot use your phone. i had to do a hard reset. back to factory condition..not happy! but then went to the marketplace and got k-9 mail. that is now my default mail program. i have not had any issues since then. this is what i kept reading over and over for complaints on this phone. it is a major glitch and the only way, as of the time it happened to me, to fix it..

  • Synch my ipod touch 4 with a new hard drive

I have a new hard drive - the old one crashed - how can I synch my ipod touch 4 with the new drive?

= Transfer iTunes puhases to the new computer:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music using third-party program like one of those discussed here:
Copy music from Ipod to new computer...: Apple Support Communities
    - Make a backup of he iPod by connecting the iPod to the computer and right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and selecting Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup.
If you are in the USA you can also redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • HT1296 suddenly out of the blue, I cannot synch my ipod touch wt my mac. When it is connected I do not see it in my itunes, Is there a way to get the synching function back, on the left side in itunes?

In itunes under file, when I choose devices and ty to synch my ipod touch, synch ****ipod is not highlighted black, so I cannot use it. How do I get this feature back?

If you  have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar. The sidebar is where Devices appears. and Control+B to show the Menu bar
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Mac OS X
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

  • Problems synching two iPod Touch with movies

I have two iPod Touches, one 16GB 2g and one 32GB 3g. I use the same computer and iTunes with both iPods.
I have imported/converted several movies to the iTunes library using HandBrake, and it works excellent.
The problem is that I'm only able to copy/synch all of the movies to the 3g version, and only two of the movies to the 2g version. I've tried several things, both using iTunes automatisk synch and manually moving/copying the movies to the 2g version. But no matter what I do, only 2 of about 60 short-movies are copied and I don't understand why?!?
    Can somebody please help me

If you use the same itunes account then you can transfer itunes purchases:

  • IPhoto to synch my iPod Touch? I thought via iTunes???

I synced / transferred photos from my MacBook to my iPod Touch (Dec 2007 - Gen1) for 2 years - latest was with System 2.x for iPod Touch. Then 10 days ago I (finally) upgrade to 3.1.3 and all is fine EXCEPT I cannot load the events I select to my iPod Touch using iTunes 9. Oh, I get 6000 of my 10000+ photos - but have 5 gb of empty space and unlike before - when all the photos until down to 2 kb of space would load, now it's 5 gb free space and lots of events I checked don't load.
Someone said to use iPhoto - but I don't think that is how one loads photos to an iPod Touch?- or??
Anyone else having trouble putting photos onto an iPod Touch with 3.1.3 - i.e. having tons of free space but they just don't load onto the Touch?
Thanks - this is a real bummer as I used to be able to do this and now not...

Sunday 14 February 2010 - cold in Kobe

TD - I got a choice of 6 things to rebuild when I started-up iPhoto with cmd-opt keys held down and quite frankly, I didn't know which to rebuild so I chose the one that said to examine and repair permissions. It did that, but it doesn't seem to have affected what gets backed-up on my iPod Touch - new stuff as usual, but not much of what I choose past 8 months or so-- some, but not all.
So it must be one of the other choices?::
    1. Rebuild the photos' small thumbnails
    2. Rebuild all the photos thumbnails (takes lots of time)
    3. Recover orphaned photos in the iPhoto Library
    4. Examine & repair iPhoto Library file permissions
    5. Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup
    6. Reclaim unused disk space from databases
Should I do #3 - recover orphaned photos or ?? - What is the "automatic backup" - I can't imagine I have another 94 gb of space devoted to a Backup on my main HD - (I don't) so what is this "automatic backup?)
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    Steve

  • Ipod Touch Problems

My Ipod Touch is running with Windows Vista and the latest Itunes. When I try to charge it with the computer USB cord the Itunes keeps coming up and synching the Ipod and then I close the Itunes and turn the Ipod power off with the slide switch on the Ipod screen after Itunes says it's o.k. to disconnect a little while later the Itunes keeps coming back on to synch the Ipod. If I ever get the Ipod charged up after I disconnect it from the computer I can't turn the Ipod on with the power switch on top of the Ipod and it keeps coming on and off by itself with the Apple logo on the screen going on and off about every minute or so until all the power of the Ipod is depleted. Thanks very much for any help.

    Start here: http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPod_touch_3.1_UserGuide.pdf
Turn off "iTunes opens when this iPod is connected" and that will solve one problem
Don't turn your iPod off, just put it in Sleep mode - once you fixed it
    1. Unplug your iPod from the computer
    2. Hold down the Sleep/Wake switch and turn the iPod off
    3. Start iTunes
    4. Hold down the Home button and plug your iPod back in to your computer. Keep hold it down until you get "an iPod in recovery mode has been detected by iTunes". Follow the on screen instructions to restore your touch.
Next time, learn how your device works before you start plugging it in, unplugging it, etc.

  • Ipod Touch Problem with Internet at home, Wi-Fi & Vista

I just bought an I Pod Touch 32G 2nd Generation. I work on a Vista PC. I synced my Ipod and everything seemed to work. When I first tried to connect to the internet at home I did make a connection, but still couldn't use mail or safari or anything.
I share my wireless internet with my neighbour. He works on a Mac. When comparing my Ipod to his, he found out that I did have the right password, but the IP address was totally different to our router. He synched my Ipod with his Mac en then it worked just fine.
But since I cannot make my Itunes library on my neighbours Mac, I had to sync my Ipod to my computer again. Then I was not able to connect to the internet anymore. It does seem to recognize the password, but it says it can't connect (but not why).
We have WEP, and I have the latest Software installed (since I have it only 2 days). What can I do to connect to the internet? (apart from buying a Mac that is)

normaly wifi routers are setup to being hdcp servers which mean that
    the ipod and computers really
gets the ip when they connect to the router over wifi
along with their dns gateway and proxy settings
if your router is very different setup and your ipod somehow get
it's ip from the last computer it synced with
maybe thats the thing to look into
because if your vista box give it some garbage ip outside the normal subnet
of routers network and the router dont have dhcp turned on to give it a valid
ip that could cause all your problems
maybe the mac have it's internet sharing turned on and thats why after being connected with it the ip it got is not a crazy one

  • Tracks purchased from iTunes automatically synching to iPod Touch

Have a problem with tracks and albums purchased from iTunes, which are automatically synching to my iPod Touch (5th Gen), even though I have already transferred them manually via my PC. The duplicates appear in the Music list in a greyed-out text, whereas my manually transferred albums are in bold.
Can anyone advise why this is happening, and how to prevent it?
Sorry, posted in wrong place, have Windows PC, not Mac.

iTunes still works with ALL iPods, back the original iPod.
The latest iTunes may hide the sidebar.  From the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
Does your iPod appear in the sidebar, under DEVICES?
If it does, select it there.  Over to the right, there is a row of "tabs" (starting with Summary).  Click on Music there.  This screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync your iPod with songs from the iTunes library.  You need to set it up, so that the songs you want on the iPod are included in your selection.  If your entire iTunes Music library will fit on the iPod, you can choose the option for Entire music library.  Otherwise, choose Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres.
NOTE:  If the iPod already has songs on it, its current content will be replaced by your selection on the Music tab, when you click Apply.

  • Should I Do a Full Synch of iPod touch?

I provide occasional tech support for my son's iPod touch (I know he's supposed to be technologically more advanced than me!). He has always chosen to manage his music manually and has not done a full synch for many months. Is he missing anything by not synching? What's going to happen when he upgrades to the 3.x iPod touch OS from the 2.x he's still using? Will he have to synch everything either before or after that upgrade?
For some reason, the whole synching process has been a little confusing to him (us).
    Thanks for any tips.
    Steve M.

An iPod's sync mode travels with the iPod, so if he selected "Manually manage music and video" then that choice will always prevent the iPod from being updated by the library, even if you do a software update.
Installing 3.1.1 does not automatically wipe the iPod clean, but with prior releases there were some reports of the iPod being erased in the update process. I suspect that the majority of these were problems with the update, and the solution required the iPod to be restored (which eraases it).

  • Xbox and Ipod Touch Problem

Hey, I have and Ipod Touch and an Xbox 360 and want to connect my Touch to the Xbox to play music while playing a game, but my Xbox doesn't pickup the Touch. But my Touch charges, anyone know why or know a link to a similar problem that can help me in anyways?

  • IPOD touch problems.. pls help!!!

My son recently received a IPOD touch for Christmas...that was the 25th, were on day 3 now of trying to hook this thing up... we can't please HELP!
I have downloaded itunes... twice. ( uninstall, reinstalled)
I keep getting a meesage that says " make sure your network connection is active and try again" when we try to go to the ITUNES store.
So, I was told to drive to Mcdonalds & try and hook up their.... We were able to connect but before I could get him any games and music, I was told to create an account... I did this.... had to drive back home to activate the account... once I clicked on the link to activate from my email I received a message that says " WE COULD NOT COMPLETE YOUR ITUNES STORE REQUEST. AN UNKNOWN ERROR OCCURED (11222) THERE WAS AN ERROR IN THE ITUNES STORE. PLEASE TRY AGAIN LATER."
I then decided to run the diagnostic in the help section of the ITUNES store.... when I did this a thing failed talking about no audio CD card found. Also, it says " SECURE LINK TO ITUNES STORE FAILED"
I have been through all of the self help. YES... I made sure firewall has ITUNES safe to go through. I have checked marked all the proper locations.
I called my internet provider they were of no help to me but assured me my internet connection is running fine.
Please, help me get thing working for this little guy. PLEASE.. this has been so frustrating... He's 11 ( you can imagine his patience level) Poor kid has been doin triple on chores & straight A's to get this IPOD for x-mas & now I can't get it to work. I feel jsut horrible.
I have a windows vista. cable connection, no wireless, had virus protection I uninstalled & my bonehead husband decided to do a system restore on my computer and now the dang virus protection is STILL on my computer and I cant uninstal it.... is THAT causing the problems?
    What? Anything?? Please help!!!

Whoa .... first thing - do not un-install or disable virus protection! You may need to get the virus protection software to recognise your iTunes but don't un-install it!
Next - don't bother driving to any fast-food outlet, there is life without them. (You probably need to get your store account working from a home PC before trying to get online from a public network that anyone can use!)
As you've downloaded iTunes, that suggests your internet connection is okay (so that's exactly what your internet provider will say). The message to "make sure your network connection is active and try again" means ... make sure the firewall is allowing iTunes to get online, you say it is, so is the connection itself active? If you can get to any web site through your browser - then yes, it is.
However, what's disturbing is the message "no audio CD card found". That seems unlikely in this day and age. Can you hear any sounds that are played on the computer, either from a web site or from a CD in the CD drive or sound file? If yes, then there is a sound card. If no, find out what this problem is.
    Got through all that?
With iTunes running, load a CD into your computer. Does it appear in iTunes, look on the left of the iTunes window, under devices, the CD should have appeared? The song names should be listed, If not, click on *Advanced/Get CD Track Names.* Click on import CD. It should be imported to iTunes and if you have the correct settings apllied, it should be copied onto the iPod at the next Sync.
If you manage this, try the Store, through your iTunes.
    How are you getting on?
    Phil

  • I requested a repair, but there was an error after clicking the button with my credit card info. I was still charged, but the form email I received the next day had incorrect info about my iPod Touch problem. How can I contact CS w/o paying $19?!

My iPod Touch battery is not working. I requested a repair through the Apple Support. On the final page, when I clicked the button that puts the info through with your credit card number, the resulting page gave an error (I wish I'd have saved it!). Anyhow, I checked my credit card and it was charged, so I assumed the repair request went through. The next day I received a form email saying my problem was with "Sync with iTunes (Not iCloud) - Data Backup/Migration (not iCloud)" instead of the battery repair. It also says for iPod customers, to send your iPod to Apple - but I had requested the "iPod Coffin" to be mailed to me so I could send it back. Obviously there was an error between the request and what was received, so I'd like to ask Customer Service about it. However, I can't find a way to contact them. When I replied to that form email, I recieved an automated reply saying emails there were not read. Anything online asks me to pay $19 and I don't have the correct issues to request an exception. The closest store is over an hour away or I'd simply go there to ask. What can I do?! Any suggestions you have are much appreciated. Thank you!
PS - The form email also says if I wait 10 days the repair request will be canceled. Does this mean my credit card will be refunded for the $85 battery replacement charge if it is canceled automatically?

Thanks, but I've been on the phone with AppleCare US (where I am and live) and AppleCare UK. They continue bouncing me back and forth without helping resolve the problem.
Perhaps someones knows how to further escalate the issue at Apple?
