Synching photos on iPod to Computer

Hi,
I would like to take the photos I have on my ipod and transfer them to my computer. Is this possible? How can I do this?
Thanks for your help!
Emilynn

If you copied photos to your iPod using the full resolution option, enable disk use, open your iPod in "my computer" in Windows or Finder on a Mac, open the photos folder then open the "full resolution" folder and drag the photos out of that folder to your desktop. For enabling disk use look here.
Disk Use.
If you only copied the photos as thumbnails, you can't do this so you'll need a program such as this one.
iPod Photo Copy. (Windows only)
iPod Photo Liberator. (both Mac and Windows versions available)
Photos as thumbnails won't be of the original quality when copied back to your computer.

  • Transfering photos from ipod to computer?

    Hello!
i used to sync my photos in ipod with my computer. But my computer crashed and i had to change a new computer.
Then, i realised that i can't transfer the photos that are already in my ipod to my new computer. The photos in ipod are in a file format that can't be opened (photo database).
Does that mean that my photos are stuck in the ipod forever? i can't view them with the computer and i can't sync photos with the new computer as i was warned that the old photos in my ipod will be deleted.
    Can anyone help? Thanks!

how do you transfer photos from ipod to computer?

See here for photos taken with the iPod: iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
If these were photos that you synced to the device via iTunes, then you'll need to download third party software to help get them off your iPod.

  • How do you copy photos from ipod to computer?

We had photos on an external drive which we copied to the IPOD; the drive
is no good and we want to know if we can extract the photos from the IPOD
itself back to the C drive on the computer? I saw a support explanation of
how to do it with the music, but not the photos.

  • How do i export photos from ipod to computer

I can't get my photos from my ipod. I think I have tried everything but still can not figure out how to get them on to my computer. Please if anyone can help I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

If you had Copy full resolution photos to iPod checked, they are in the Photos folder on theiPod.
If you did not have that box checked, then you only have thumbnail photos on the iPod.
You can go to www.versiontracker.com to find software to take these low resolution photos off the iPod.

  • Getting Photos from iPod on computer

We bought TWO new iPods 5th Gen. 60 GB. Of course for the music options but also for the photo options, because one of us is a 'heavy' digital photographer, especially on holidays. We THOUGHT (reading about promised options by Apple!) we could put photos on the iPod (with the connector), look at them, delete the ones we don't like directly from the iPod and once home export the photos from the iPod to the hard disk of our computer to do some 'Photoshopping'.....
    Nada, nothing, not possible!!!
I/we are furious because we spent a lot of money but can't use the iPod like any ordinary Memory Thing.
Apple people admit this is a:
    'NOT-SO-RIGHT-THING-AND-HOPE-THE-COMPANY-WORKS-ON-SOME-SOFTWARE-TO-SOLVE-THIS-PR OBLEM'!!!
    We feel being cheated!
I'm going to bring this problem (false info about possibilities of an iPod) into the attention of all consumer organisations/TV-programs/newspapers in The Netherlands!
IS THERE ANYONE WHO HAS FOUND A WAY TO DO WHAT WE WANT:
1:Delete (bad)photos directly from the iPod without the
iPod being connected to a computer.
2:Export photos from the iPod to the computer.
3:Do 1&2 and be able to see the photos on the iPod.
We would be very grateful to the one who can help out.

In iTunes there is an option to open the iPod as a hardrive. Then you can transfer photos to your computer. See also this which tells you what to do: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301059
There is no way to delete photos from your iPod without connecting it first.

  • Syncing photos from ipod to computer

I know that you can add photos from the pc to the ipod...but what about the opposite, adding photos TO pc from your ipod? I couldn't figure out how to do that help!
This is an ipod touch 4g btw.

This is not working for me. What I'm doing is opening the iPod touch device as if it was a hard disk, navigating over to the pictures and videos my kids have taken, selected all 10 pictures and two videos, copied them, and tried to paste them into a directory on the computer hard disk.
Each time, I get the same thing, Windows Explorer crashes.
I have the latest iPod touch drivers, the latest version of iTunes (yes, 64-bit).
Could it be that the drivers aren't compatible with 64-bit?

  • Photos from iPod on Computer

    Hi everyone,
I´m having problems getting my pictures from my iPod onto my computer! Is it possible to get them back? Or will I loose them forever if I update my iPod nano?
Because I have pics on my iPod which I don´t have on my computer or anywhere else and I don´t want to loose them!
I hope you can help me?

  • Photos from ipod to computer - thumbs?

i am trying not to panic... i transferred photos from my recent trip to a laptop, then onto my ipod...now i want to get them on my desktop as they've been deleted from the laptop. in using as external disc, drap and drop photo folder to desktop... the files are "Thumbs" - .ithmb files... please tell me they are not compressed thumbnails only... i see the files are rather large. but i can't open them with anything on my windows system. help?

i am answering my own question! thru another thread, i was able to find what i needed to know so i am posting the info here.
to be able to get full res files onto the ipod, you have to enable transfer of the jpegs in your settings when you upload the pic files. otherwise, the ipod just creates thumbnails to fit the ipod.

  • Photos from iPod to computer

I had a computer crash last week and i lost al my music, documents, photos and videos. I had a back-up from al those things except from the photos. They are still on my iPod, but not on my computer. Is there a way to get them back? I would really appreciate it if someone could help me.
Btw the photos aren't in full resolution...

If you only copied the photos as thumbnails and not full resolution, you'll need a program such as this one.

  • Photos from ipod to computer - HEEEEEELLLP!

my friend and i went on a trip and took quite a number of pictures with a nice nikon camera (each pic is enormous.) we stored them all on his apple laptop when we were there, and now that we're back, i wanted to see the pictures, so i asked him to put all the photos on his ipod to give to me. i think he used iphoto, and my computer is a dell pc with windows xp. when i attach his ipod to my computer, it doesn't label it as an ipod but rather as a removable disk that needs to be formatted before i can use it (even though his ipod has been formatted on his own apple laptop before and carries information on it.) obviously, formatting wipes the photos out, but i can't seem to access the ipod without doing so. i've tried using yamipod. are there any other programs i could use to somehow get to the photos without formatting the disk and deleting them all? any trick i could use to get to the photos without a program? this is a bit ridiculous. why would my computer say it needs to format the ipod in the first place. you should also know that i opened the ipod restore/update program and the only option given me was to restore (ie delete and apply factory settings.)
help!??!?!?!? what the **** is going on?

By default, iPods used with Macs are HFS+ formatted, and Windows does not support that file system. Unless you install a third party solution like MacDrive, the files on the HFS+ iPod can not be seen by Windows.

  • Photos FROM ipod to computer?  Can you do it?

I have a bunch of photos on my ipod nano - is it possible to get them from the nano to the computer?
I had these photos on another computer, which is no longer - so my nano is now the only source for these photos.... I'd really love to save them if possible...
    Anyone?

Yes, it's possible to do this.
