Synching photos with iPhone on PC manually: do you need Photoshop?

on page 8 of the iPhone manual it states you can sync photos on a PC "... with either Adobe Photoshop Album 2.0 or later or Adobe Photoshop Elements 3.0 or later. Or you can sync with any folder on your computer that contains images."
BUT
on page 73 there is no mention of that last option.
Any PC users out there able to manually sync without Photoshop? I only have Corel Photo Center
8 GB   Windows XP

You can sync photos by selecting "folder" instead of adobe photoshop elements/album. Simply put the pictures you want to sync in a given folder, then you can browse to it.

Took photo with iphone 4s. Picture displays in picture preview on bottom left, but is not in camera roll. Pic should be in phone somewhere since it's in preview. Any advice?

    Ok try this kennylebouef,
Open multitasking by double tapping the home button (at the bottom), a row of apps you've recently used should appear, tap and hold the photos app until it wiggles and displays an x, tap the x to close and then reopen the camera roll app. Let me know if it works. It's odd and frustrating, I know.

  • Synching Photos to iPhone 4 w/iTunes 10.2.1.1 on a Windows 7 64-bit machine

iTunes does not synch photos if they are not on the primary disk drive. I have all my photos on a separate hard drive on my Dell to free up space on my primary drive, but iTunes would always hang up when it came to the synching photos step when I tried to put photos on my iPhone. The synching bar kept indicating that it was doing something, and the status message was "moving photos." But two hours later I finally quit synch and found that everything synched as it should except not a single photo transferred. Moving copies of the photos I wanted on my iPhone to my primary drive's "My Pictures" directory solved this, but now I have unwanted duplicates on my system. Does anyone have a similar problem that they've solved in a more elegant way?

  • Can't synch photos with Vista

This is driving me crazy! I have no problems synching music with Vista, but every time I attempt to synch photos, the photos are corrupted, don't download properly or - more often than not - the computer crashes with a variety of bluescreen error messages! Any ideas please? Everything works fine on my old XP!
Acer T180   Other OS   Windows Vista Home Premium

lordy. if you were getting that combo on XP or 2000, i'd be worried about a major viral infection on the PC. but i don't have so much experience with the VIsta BSODs as with the XP/2000 beasties, so let's not jump to that conclusion just yet.
it would be good to see if the crashes are all being produced by a single driver (or set of related drivers). so let's try getting a mindump or two to the Apple engineers for a look.
To set up your machine to capture a minidump, right click on "My Computer", select "Properties", select the "Advanced" tab, select the "Startup and Recovery" Settings button, select "small memory dump" from the popup. When it crashes, look for the MiniDump file. It's usually in the folder "C:\WINDOWS\Minidump" and is called something like Mini<number>-<number>.dmp.
generate a crash and collect a minidump (or, if you've already been set up to collect minidumps, gather together a few of the itunes-related ones), and send it/them as an attachment/s to this email address.
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing
    - The exact text of the error message you are seeing

  • How do I resolve synching issues with iphone 4S

All of a sudden the notes on my iphone are not synching with my BT Yahoo account? They are showing on the Yahoo app but not being updated on the notes app on the phone itself?

    From an older post:
you sync through iTunes. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes. When you connect your iPhone, find it in the left nav bar in iTunes, click on it, then click on Info. The top two choices should say Sync Contacts with and Sync Calendars with.
"If you do not see "Outlook" as one of the choices for sync'ing your Contacts and Calendar, you need to find and install an iTunes Outlook Add-in. Then you need to go to Outlook > File > Add-Ins. Under Inactive Application Add-ins, look for iTunes Outlook Addin. You will need to restart your computer. You will know you were successful if iTunes reconfigures so it recognizes the Outlook Addin. Then you should be able to sync."

  • Unable to synch video with iphone

I just downloaded an episode of Fringe to iTunes last week and have been trying to synch it with my iphone. I keep synching my phone- but the video does not come over. I have done the obvious- checked my synch settings and have checked that I want that video. Appreciate any other suggestions.
Along a similar path- the video was HD. Is there a way to specify non-HD- so it does not take up more space on my laptop? Thanks.

Just to close the loop for newbies out there. I discovered, to my chagrin, that iTunes was downloading both an HD and SD version of the show. I cancelled the SD version- silly me, thinking that it was an error. I saw that I could download it later and it worked fine on my iPhone. So- let both types download if you order HD- or just order the SD version.
I now have a Mac- getting better with these operation things....

  • Cannot email photos with iPhone

    Hi.
Every time I try to email a photo I taken with my iPhone, I get the following message: "Cannot Sent Mail. A Cop has been place in your Outbox. The recipient 'Patricia Farrell'" (that's me! I'm not the recipient; I'm the sender!) "was rejected by the server."
I found a suggestion in one of the forums here about changing the settings for the gmail server so the the outgoing server port is 465 (it was 587). I tried that. It still won't work. Same message.
I am able to download the photos on my camera to my desktop. But if the camera on the iPhone has a function that allows one to email the photos, how do I get it to work? You can send photos with all other phones with cameras. Isn't that the point?
    Thanks, Pat

A couple of things to try.
if you have emails in your default email account (gmail), go into your outbox on the iphone and delete those emails.
Now, open settings>general>reset and reset network settings.
Only reset network settings if you know the passwords to any wifi networks you have set up on the iphone.
Once the iphone restarts, try sending a photo again.
Also, if you were connected to wifi when trying to send the photos, try turning wifi off.
To turn wifi off go to settings>wifi and tap on the slider to turn wifi off.
Then try sending a photo again.
    Hope this helps.

  • Outlook calendar synching issues with iPhone

My work Outlook calendar does not seem to be synching up with the calendar on my iPhone. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

In that case the sync is with Exchange, not with Outlook. Both Outlook and the iPhone sync with Exchange, which is the master copy.
Which is more current, Outlook or the iPhone?

  • Transferring photos with iphone to nikon transfer

The Nikon transfer software I have used to transfer photos from iPhone 4 in its old firmware versions, but now it hardly detects to iPhone and if it does detect the iPhone it will say that it is done transferring but no files are created on the computer?
If anyone know how fix this problem or know of software that can do what I'm asking it to do and name the file extension as ex. 20120314_001 (yyyymmdd_001) I'm all ears?

    Contact Nikon.
Nothing about the issue indicates an iPhone or iOS issue.
Outside of the Nikon software, are you still able to transfer photos to the computer via Windows Explorer or the equivalent OSX software?

  • Is anyone having problems synching itunes with iphone 5 ?

I have a Pc with windows XP.  I can't download my itunes library to my iphone 5s.  I could with iPhone 4.
I have the latest version of itunes on my computer.
I've been told by Apple and Verizon that my computer is too old and doesn't have the necessary drivers to run iphone 5.
Is anyone else having this same problem?  Any advice would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

I don't wnat you to have any issues with your device, tracybayne! Let's get to work to make sure we get you up and running. Have you been able to try to reset the network settings in your phone? The best way to do that is to go into Settings, General, Reset, Reset Network Settings. The phone will power cycle and then you will need to re-type in all the wi-fi passwords again. Once that is done, please re-test it out. Keep us posted.

  • Do you need Photoshop to make apps for iPhone?

Which Photoshop would be best to get? If you don't need Photoshop, then where would I design my apps? Can I design it in xcode?

Sorry, I haven't owned a copy of Photoshop since 1997 I think. I think that was a student version I paid $250 for. If you want information on Photoshop, I suggest asking in a Photoshop forum. As a developer, Photoshop has little value for me. Sure it has lots of features, but I am way too busy to learn them. Give me fast and easy instead.
A vector tool is a program that allows you to create vector imagery. These images a composed of mathematical definitions instead of pixels. They can be scaled up or down with no loss of resolution. When you draw with a vector tool, you can make perfect circles and other shapes that would be impossible with freehand drawing in a raster tool like Photoshop. Popular vector formats are Adobe Illustrator, EPS, SVG, and sometimes PDF.
Vector tools are important for developers because you can build your artwork in a vector tool and easily scale it up or down to match your device. You can't just shrink down a big image to make it smaller. It will be smaller, but blurry and lower quality. Using a vector tool gives you more control to shrink down and maintain crisp outlines and recognizable shapes.

  • I can not change the account setting in iCloud on my iPhone 4S . So it is not synching photos with my iPad

I can not get my account to change from my old and disabled email to my new one on my iPhone and get it to synch with mt iPad

Does this happen on one particular Wifi network or all of them?
If one network, can other devices connected to this network do these things?
Can the iPhone access the internet on another Wifi network?  Can it access the internet when using Cellular Data?

  • Aperture 3 synchs photos to iphone in wrong order

When I synch my photos to the iphone from iphoto they show in the correct order by date.
When I import this library to Aperure 3 and synch this one to the iphone they are all in a random order.
How can I set them to be sorted by date??
They show in the correct order in Aperture!

I have been synching my photos from Aperture 2 to an iPod Touch for several years. There has ever only been one sort order once they reach the iPod—in Projects and folders by name in alphabetical order. I keep them in Aperture by date, but they wind up in the iPod by name and I've never found a way to change that. So maybe the situation is different with iPhoto, because you say you've been able to get them into your phone by date.
I'd say you've just joined the Aperture crowd, and all we get is alphabetical order.
