Synching with ACT 6.0 using companion link

I have recently pourchased  curve.  I have been synching for several years to a Treo with companion link from act 6.0.  I have been uising companion link with the curve and it works accept for activities linked to my personal record.  I have looked at every setting imaginable, but cannot figure this out.  Anybody know how to make personal activities sync with everything else?

Terry,
This is a known problem, and CR058420 was opened to address this
issue. For 6.0, there is not a patch available. The recommended
solution is to upgrade to 6.1 and apply the appropriate patch.
          Thanks,

  • Can PC Suite synch with ACT pim

Is it possible to synch a 9500 directly with ACT pim from Sage software? or does data have to go from ACT to Outlook then synch to 9500?

I'm afraid PC Suite synchronization supports only various versions of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Outlook Express, Lotus Notes or Lotus Organizer.
If the ACT! data can be accessed via SyncML/Remote Sync (if not directly, but through a separate, intermediate SyncML server such as Sync4J or others) then you could do it without PC Suite.Message Edited by petrib on 14-Nov-2005

I have no experience with the third-party application you are referring to but I have the feeling that it is designed to sync with devices using Legacy Conduits.
Legacy Conduits used on OS4 and before (and a very few of the early OS5 devices): Date Book, Address Book, To Do List, Memo Pad.
Extended Conduits used on modern devices: Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, Memos.

  • Cannot connect with SQL Server driver using Top Link with ADF/JSF

I have a TopLink/ADF/JSF project that I'm starting using JDeveloper 10.1.3. The database is MS SQL Server. I went through and created all of the Top Link mappings, etc. but when I try to run my project under the OC4J instance built in to JDeveloper I get the error message below. I've tried putting SelectMethod=cursor everywhere I can think of, but nothing seems to help?

I'm not sure on the error, but you may be able to pass the "selectMethod" and "cursor" as a JDBC property in your connection pool. Since this is a DataSource / JTA issue you may want to post it to the general OC4J forum.
Otherwise as a workaround you could instead use a non-JTA DataSouce, or use TopLink internal connection pooling, or try another JDBC driver.

If the 'Endianness' of the two platforms differs you are likely running into Bug #5671074

  • SERIOUS PROBLEM Synching Palm Pre Plus (Verizon) with Companion Link OS USB -- NEED HELP!!

I am having serious problems with Companion Link OS USB synching with Palm Desktop 4.2 via USB on my Verizon Palm Pre.
The Verizon phone is my second Palm Pre.  (The original Palm Pre which came from Germany worked perfectly with Companion Link).
The Verizon Palm Pre is a Palm Pre Plus.
As noted I utilize Palm Desktop software Version 4.2.0 on my computer.
I started out with Companion Link software Version 3.0 Build 3096  -- and have worked my way up to Version 4.0 Build 4008 over the last few months, and have spend hundreds of hours trying to solve the synchronization issue described in detail below.
The Companion Link software is configured to ONLY synch one way
FROM my Palm Desktop on my computer to the phone via USB
(I don’t want to put my contacts and calendar on the web, NOR do I like the way Google contacts works, even if I DID want to).
When I synch the Palm Desktop to the Palm Pre the following occurs:
    The Calendar synchs fine.
The contacts do NOT synch properly.
I have 1,500+ contacts in my Palm Desktop.
For some inexplicable reason, during the synch process the approximately 1,200+ of my contacts are compiled under ONE contact listing (John Davis). The icon by the contact shows that TWO contacts are linked under John Davis, however when I click on the icon to see who is linked under John Davis, NO contacts appear.  But I have the option to link additional contacts under John Davis if desired (AS IF!!).
So, 1,200 of my contacts do NOT appear in the contact list.  If I want to call my husband, and type in Bruce, NOTHING comes up.  BUT if I type in his phone number, the listing for John Davis comes up and shows me all the numbers that legitimately belong to my husband.  Ditto my friend Susan, etc for the other 1,200 contacts buried under the contact listing for John Davis on the phone.
SO, if any of these 1,200+ people, call me or text message me, my phone tells me I have a call or a text from John Davis.
I cannot look up my contacts to call them or text them because the contacts do not actually APPEAR under John Davis (If the phone were just linking them and SHOWED them, I could manually de-link them).
FURTHER, when I get a text message from anyone who is compiled under John Davis, the text message is truncated.  I can see the notification that I got a text message from John Davis, and I can see the first few words in the notification area, but if I open the text message, it appears to be blank (this only happens after synching Companion Link – before linking Companion Link all text messages are fine.  AND, if I get a text message from one of the 300 or so contacts that actually synch into my phone correctly, the text messages are perfectly fine and work normally.
I have worked with BOTH the Companion Link technical support people AND the Palm technical support people extensively in an effort to solve this problem.
I have done Full Secure Erases and started over trying to get the phone to synch more than 35 times at this point.
I have tried synching from different computers
I have had Palm replace the phone TWICE (so this is actually my third Verizon Palm Pre Plus).
I have run Web OS Doctor
    Nothing helps.
Every time the phone does exactly the same thing described above.
When I synch the phone it tells me:
Web OS:     Added             1543/1543    Contacts to the phone
                PC:              Updated          1232/1232     Contacts
(The 1232 contacts being updated are the 1232 that are compiled under the one contact listing of course).
Needless to say, Companion Link says it is the phone.
Palm says it is the Companion Link third party software.
Since it is the same 1,200+ contacts every time, I have had both Palm and Companion Link examine my contact database to see if they could identify anything amok about these 1,200+ contacts, but there doesn’t appear to be any difference between those contacts and the 300 or so that synch into the phone properly.
Companion Link has told me variously that:
    -  This is a very rare Synergy issue and that I must turn off the Synergy feature on the phone (would that this could be done per Palm it can NOT be done).
    -  Only TWO people have ever had this issue (me and someone else unnamed);
    -  That this is a common problem with the Palm Pre, but Companion Link works fine with every other phone
    -  I e-mailed them my contact list and they SWORE to me that they were unable to duplicate my problem on their computers.  (I don’t believe this)
    -  AND has most recently told me that there is nothing more they can do for me, that I will have to find a solution myself.
Palm has said that there is nothing they can do for me if third party software doesn’t work properly with the phone.
This does appear to be the Synergy feature run amok.  But how to correct it???????
I love the Palm Pre.  I love my Palm Desktop 4.2 software.
If I can’t get this fixed shortly, I guess I’m going to have to move back to a Treo 680.
Does anyone out there please, please, please have a solution or a suggestion that will help?
Post relates to: Pre Plus p101vzw (Verizon)

    Hello,
I am almost as frustrated as you.  Purchased my pre plus back in may and bought the companion link software immediately  ( I have synced via usb for years on other palms to lotus notes)  All the information from companion link states that it does the job.  I only need to sync my calendar, no contacts.   I have put in a ridiculous amount of time with palm, my IT department and Companion link,  IT HAS NEVER EVER EVER WORKED.   I deleted, re installed, upgraded, tried different steps in different orders, I have gotten a new phone, tried it on multiple computers.  NOTHING WORKS.   Probably been through all these steps listed 50 times by now.  Actually I think that companion link doesn't work for palm pre plus, they just are not willing to say so and advertise that is does work.
I am extremely disappointed in my pre because of this.  I did my research before making my purchase, it appeared possible.    I WAS a long term palm user.  Currently looking at new phones and never again a palm.  Companion link should be more careful about what they say they can do.  One of the service techs actually told me that if I wanted it to work I should ditch my palm.  That's service for ya.
Good luck,  the fight got the better of me.  I am done.

  • Companion Link - does it work?

    Hi there,
I'm evaluating Companion Link to sync my Pre with Outlook, but after a promising start things seem to have gone downhill. The initial sync seemed to work fine, although all my Outlook Tasks became calendar events, which was a bit unexpected. However, re-syncing seems to be bust - newly created (in Outlook) tasks aren't copied to the Pre at al, and changes don't seem to sync either (I deleted a contact in Outlook, it remains on the Pre though).
Is Companion Link junk, or am I doing it wrong?!
      Thanks,
    Toby
Post relates to: Pre p100ueu (O2)

I think you're thinking of a different version of the software - I'm using Companion Link for WebOS USB (sorry, should have stated that in my original post. It's this one:
    http://www.companionlink.com/usbsync/ol-pre-usb.html
It is, I believe, just for syncing between Pre and Outlook over USB.

  • Companion Link

I upgraded to DM 6 and Companion Link 4.0 to sycn my 9000 with Goldmine 7. I sync from GM to BB only. Here's what happened during sync: Cleared Appointments reappeared on my GM calendar. (this should be impossible); sync ran for over 3 hours (normally 15 minutes with old DM 5 and Companion Link 3) and, also, finally just crashed.
Frustration only begins to describe how I feel. Help!!!!

    Hi everyone,
Thanks for you patience! We've been working hard at this the past week, and we're happy to announce that the latest build of CompanionLink now supports BlackBerry Desktop 6. • How to use a link button in a matrix

Hi, I'm trying to create a matrix with a column that uses a link button to call a Sales order.. how can i do it? i'm new in SBO!

    Hi,
You can do it in 2 differents ways:
    1. With the ScreenPainter. Set the column property "Type" with the value "et_LINK_BUTTON" and the property "LinkObjectType" with the value of the Business Object (for Sales Orders, the value is "17").
    2. Directly on the XML file. You can see and example below.
    <column uid="col" type="116" title="Parte" description="" visible="1" AffectsFormMode="0" width="55" disp_desc="0" editable="1" right_just="0" val_on="" val_off="" backcolor="-1" forecolor="-1" text_style="0" font_size="-1">
          <databind databound="1" table="" alias="col"/>
    <ExtendedObject linkedObject="17" LinkedObjectType="17"/>*
    </column>
The most important things are the properties "type" (116 for linked button) and "linkedObject" and "LinkedObjectType" (17 for Sales Orders).
I hope this can help you.

  • Trying to Sync Z10 via Companion Link with ACT 2013

    Hi All,
Looking for some help with the following issue: When I try and sync my Z10 via Companion Link with Act 2013 I get an error message in blackberry link then the sync fails:
C Preferences Manager: Configuration Value for / Preferences / Account_1_65537/ DevicePin not set in Transconfig.xml for translater RimBB
used to work sometimes until i updated the software. would be gratefull for any ideas

  • Hi! I've been using Goldmine contact management software for many years and syncing with Companion Link successfully, then ITunes to the IPhone. Suddenly, my IPhone is not recognized and won't sync. I see a message telling me to dock the phone? Any ideas?

  • HELP! I am in ACT 2007, Palm Centro 6.2, Companion Link and Windows Vista Syncronizing He...

I mostly blame ACT. I have 2007 and they reccomended ANY Palm. After purchasing my new Palm Centro I purchased and downloaded the ACT synchonizing program. Upon download, it said they weren't compatible. I called ACT who then said they knew exactly what I needed. A third party software called Companion Link. I purchased that from ACT. When downloading, it says it is not compatable with anything over 6.0 ..I called them. They said I can dowload the older Palm Desktop and it would work. Before I do one more thing....I want to be sure I shouldn't start completely over. I am still inside the 30 days with my Centro, which I like, but everything I need for work is on my ACT so synchronizing with that is most important. If I have to purchase ACT 2008 I will but if I can find a fix (maybe Palm OS desktop) first then I will try that. At this point, if I could move everything away from ACT I would consider that as well. I have just used it for so long to tract contacts, etc. I don't use too much of the fancy stuff. Did I mention I am on Windows vista as well. I'm sure that's one more thing to consider.  I am two weeks and several hundred dollars down. HELP
    Post relates to: Centro (AT&T)

    Welcome to the Palm Forums,
Ok, thanks for all that information. First off if you sync to a lower version of Palm Desktop you will not be able to sync programs over to your device. And if you are able to it works part of the time not all the time. Also what was your other device before you moved to the Centro? We might be able to grab the information from that device (if you still have it) and move it to the Centro depending on the device type.
Outside of that there are others here that could help you with the ACT and Companion Link applications but unfortunately I don't know much about how those programs work. But if you want to move away from them message back here and I will help you.

Also - my battery has been telling me "service battery" for a LONG time and then it switched to "replace soon" som time ago. Can't really see what this has to do with anything but whatever.
That could conceivably explain all the problems you're describing. Replacing a Mac's battery should not be postponed since a failed battery will cause other problems to occur. It is also possible that its hard disk has failed, which means the information on it may soon become unrecoverable.
... my latest TM back up was from April 2014, can I just run this when I have rescued everthing and then it might not be as slow?
If that Time Machine backup remains intact, it may be the only viable means of recovering that Mac's information. I suggest you do not attempt to restore its contents to your ailing Mac.
Given that you are having trouble creating a newer Time Machine backup you should stop using that Mac immediately and have it serviced as soon as you are able. Do not take it to anyone other than Apple or a service facility authorized by Apple, for the very reasons you explained. If there are no Apple Stores in your vicinity search for an Authorized Apple Service Provider using the Contact Us link below. Use one of the options that appear under Contact Apple Support. The language on that page will be different for your location.
