Synching with different macs?

I am currently synching my Touch with my Macpro for my bookmarks, music, videos, and photos, and my Macbook Pro for my Address Book and iCal. Is this a bad idea? Can it cause any problems? Thanks!

Will "Reminders" on my iPh4 (OS5) synch with my Mac?

If I use the new "Reminders" app in iOS 5 on my iPhone 4, will these reminders be synched or backed-up with an iTunes synch? (I synch with Office Mac '11 Outlook for Calender, Contacts & Notes)? I am reading that they will be backed up and (potentially) synched thru iCloud, but I am not using iCloud (yet) because my Mac is still running Snow Leopard (and will be for awhile), so I don't see any advantage to iCloud if my only potential synch target is my Mac, which can't use iCloud until I upgrade. Reminders are part of the iPhone backup, wherever it goes (iCloud, Mac via cable or Mac via iTunes). However, I haven't found an app that they sync with. They do appear in iCloud, but I've found it to be "quirky", in that Reminders in iCloud have different fields and capabilities than those on the iPhone.

IPad2... after synch with my Mac, I now have numerous duplicates of the same PDF files in Books. Can't select them to delete them. Can't move them. Any suggestions?

Open iTunes, and under View, select "Show Sidebar". The old sidebar you are used to will show up, and everything will work the way it did under the old iTunes.

You have to set it up using iTunes.
When you connect your phone to iTunes, go to the iPhone summary page and make sure you have the option "Sync over wi-fi" turned on.

View files on Time Capsule with 'different' Mac

After my install of Lion failed, the Apple Store did a clean install and renamed my MacBook (I can't remember the exact old name). Now I need a file off my Time Capsule backup but Time Capsule seems to be thinking the MacBook is not to have access to the existing backed up files because I see no way to gain access to them.
But my question is more general, How can I view and copy particular files residing on Time Capsule with a 'different' Mac? Can it be searched with a utility of some sort?

If you're talking about Time Machine backups, when your Mac's internal HD was erased, it's treated as a different drive -- and that drive is no longer connected. See #E3 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.
Note that the name of your Mac doesn't matter; Time Machine uses a hardware address to keep track of it. Only if you get a new Mac or have the logic board (which contains the address) replaced, will that become a problem.

I tried that in the past, will go back to see if I missed something.
I went to the HP support site and followed the steps to download software/driver.
Realized I dont know how to verify if my printer is connected to wireless network... time capsule or air port base station as the info presented said I should confirm. I have the printer connected with a USB cable to my PC Vista and after installing software/driver for that computer got things working. They sit on the same desk.
With my Mac, which is in an upstairs room, does not see any printers when i click on print and scan and the box that pops open has icons in the upper left corner with:default, fax, IPP, windows.
Another bump in the road is that I am not sure how to confirm what my address number is as it has changed several times in my past attempts to connect with a prior printer and after putting a range of numbers in (changing the last two numbers only) I still make no progress.
Not sure if I am missing something else but I keep trying.

IPod losing all playlists when re-synched with different computer.

Last year I placed my entire ITunes folder in an external drive to make more room on my then-Windows system. When I did this, all the music transferred over but none of my playlist folders were imported. When I then went to synch the IPod with the folder, none of the playlist folders showed up and I had to recreate them all over again, which was not a happy time.
Now I am forced to do it all over again with different machine thanks to a hard drive dump on my desktop. All of the music is on the same external drive. I have a number of playlists on the IPod but at present they don't show up on the music screen, which is expected seeing as I haven't synched the IPod yet with the new program in the laptop.
How can I synch the IPod with the program to insure I don't lose all those playlists again? My thanks for the assist.

I this is a corporate phone (BES) set up by the IT department, they can help you set this up.
Are you and your boss connected on a server? You should then have the options for a shared calendar.
If this is the case you could synch with yours, and have your boss's schedule integrated with yours.

I had a 2GB SD card that synched perfectly with desktop manager on my mac. I bought a 32GB card (having first checked my curve is compatible) but now my mac can't see an sd card (even though the phone can) - wondered if the Mac version of BB DM has a limit on size of SD cards it recognises?

My blackberry wont synch with my mac anymore

I downloaded OS X Mountain Lion and now I can no longer sync my Blackberry Bold with my Contacts or Calendar. I have the most up to date version of the Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac but it still will not transfer any records.

Try removing the BlackBerry software and redownloading it and installing. I had a similar problem with my BlackBerry, but uninstalling and reinstalling worked.

Synching with two Macs

I have had my iPod Touch synched to the Apple address book and calendar on my iMac G5. Now, I have just bought a 13" MacBok, and I would like to synch my iPod Touch to that as well, but I'm afraid that the first time I do so, the empty files from the MacBook address book and calendar will empty those on the iPod Touch, and I will be worse off than when I started. Also someone told me that you are only able to synch an iPod to one computer. I know I could just join MobileMac, but I would like to avoid that option – there's enough expense and complexity in my life already. Any advice would be most appreciated.

If it were me, I would wait until my primary Mac was available.

I just bought the new 2.0 Aluminum MACBOOK and heard that I can synch my phone to my MACBOOK with the Bluetooth capability, thus not having to plug it in. Is this true and how do I do it? Thank you.

Unless they changed something, I don't think the iPhone can sync using bluetooth. The model of computer shouldn't matter.

Store access problems with different Mac user accounts

My daughters account cannot connect to the iTunes store ONLY when she is logged into her user account on our iMac.
When logged into my user account she is able to connect to the store.
I can connect to the store if I log into my iTunes account when I am logged in her iMac user account.

I am running Mac OS X 10.5.2 & iTunes 7.6.2 (9)
The computers firewall settings are 'allow all incoming connections'.
There have been no changes to our netgear router.
As stated there is no ISP issue here as she can connect on other Mac user accounts and I can connect on her Mac user account.
I have deleted her .com.apple.iTunes.secure.plist
The error message -50 takes about 5 minutes to arrive after the 'accessing iTunes store' eventually stops. We have also had error -4 on one occasion.
It is possible to view her account details but when clicking on the iTunes store icon in iTunes it doesn't connect to the store.
I have deleted the existing iTunes file and downloaded a new iTunes file. I have changed the purchasing from shopping cart to one click in iTunes Preferences.
And I have emailed apple. Their reply hasn't been of help as yet.
Hopefully someone will have some ideas as to what to do next!

So my question is Who answers technical iTunes support from Apple?
Don't get me wrong, I love Apple - their design, the fact my computer does 'just work' and the way I now listen to music. Just a bit surprised by that reply.
Anyway fortunately I solved my problem and I hope this thread helps anyone else.

How do I get iPad contacts in iCloud to synch with desktop mac?

I have the latest iPad Air and an iMac with Mavericks. I notice that when I update an address in Contacts on the iPad that it does not sync with contacts on my iMac. Yes, I have the iCloud turned on for contacts. Does anybody know how to fix it?
