Synchronisation Error with iPod

I've got the following problim with the actual version of iTunes and my iPod.
I' synchronized the database and got in the iPod multiple entries of two albums. The albums are named "Collection" and "The Collection" of the same artist and are displayed 17 times. I've already made a reset of my iPod an resynced the database. The error stays. In iTunes nothing seems unnormal the entries are only once displayed and iTunes could manage "Collection" and "The Collection" without any errors. What couls I do?

  • IPod Service Error with iPod installer 2006-06-28

I previously had a Mini but lost it (stolen). I bought a Nano to replace it but could never get it to work. I returned this and purchased a new 30g iPod. Same issues. I get the error message "iPod Service Error" when I open the 2006-06-28 iPod Software Updater. I even get this message whether I have my iPod connected or not. In iTunes, I get the message "The software required for communicating with the iPod is not installed correctly. Please reinstall iTunes to install the iPod's software."
Well, I've reinstalled iTunes countless times and reinstalled the updater a equal number of times with no luck. I tried all the steps (including links) in:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93716
I also used msconfig with no luck. I disabled my Norton internet security and antivirus software with no success. I disabled the Fast User Switching and followed someone's advice regarding FAT32, but again no luck.
I tried to read through all the latest discussions and articles I could find, but am now getting confused. Is there anyone out there who has been able to tackle this problem? My alternative is returning my iPod and giving up on iTunes. Help me please!! Thanks.

Thanks for your response and sorry for the delay. I've been traveling. Yes, I did try making another XP user account and got the same results. I have not tried the installer cleanup. What do I do with this utility? I read the instructions from MS, but not sure if I should just highlight the iTunes, iPod, and QuickTime stuff on my PC. Any help would be appreciated.

  • "Ipod software is too old" error with ipod nano

I am having a big problem with my ipod nano. I've been working on it for a week and still have not been able to fix it. I can sync my ipod nano to my mac g4 (running OS X 10.3.9) however in the ipod settings it won't show the version of ipod software and the click buttons to restore the ipod or update it are grayed out. When I connect the ipod I get an error message "Some of the items in the itunes library were not copied to your ipod because your ipod software is too old. Go to Summary tab in ipod preferences and update to get the latest software update."
As mentoined, when I do that the update is not available. I have reset the ipod multiple times, restored it, reformatted the disk etc. With the ipod blank, I discovered it does NOT give this error when I connect it to an older imac g3 (go figure) and that it correctly shows the ipod system information and allows me to update it or restore it from itunes (7.0.2). If I then plug the ipod into the G4 it gives the same error message.
The fact that it works and syncs fine with another mac leads me to believe that it's not the ipod, but my system software on the G4 that is corrupted- there must be a settings file that is bad, I just don't know which one it is. Help!!

Is it possible that you have part of an old iTunes still installed on your computer? If so, take a look at the info I pasted below from the following article:Troubleshooting iTunes installation on Mac OS X
It's possible that clicking the iTunes icon in your Dock or double-clicking an iTunes icon on your desktop could open an older version of iTunes. Open iTunes from the Applications folder to be sure you are opening the right version:
    Double-click your hard disk.
    Double-click the Applications folder.
    Double-click the iTunes icon.
If you notice another copy of iTunes in the Dock after following these steps, here's a way to take care of that:
    Quit iTunes.
Drag the iTunes icon out of the Dock.
Drag the iTunes icon from the Applications folder to the Dock.

  • Connection Error with iPod mini to Bose Home Theater System

When connecting my iPod mini to my Bose Home Theater system, it recognizes that iPod has been connected, but after the "Acquiring Signal" process, it gives me an "iPod connection error. Please re-insert iPod into docking station." I tried several times, but the result is the same.
My iPod mini has been updated with the latest software, and I did a system restore to return everything to factory defaults, but still no luck.
    Any suggestions.

Hi. What you need to do is Launch DVD Player. Go to Preferences. Select Disc Setup tab. In Audio Output under Audio in the second part of the menu, select Digital Out-Built-in-Output. Then click OK. See if this works, 'cause mine does.

  • USB Power Error with iPod Touch and 2012 MBA

I am getting a USB power error when I connect my current generation 32 GB iPod touch to my 2012 MBA.
Since both iPod and MacAir are running current software.  I am also starting to get errors from iTunes telling me that my iPod can not be accessed.  Any ideas?  Mac or iPod problem, or BOTH?  Closest Apple store is 250 miles away, but MBA is still under original 1 year original warranty.  Might be time for a visit.

  • Error with Ipod - any suggestions?

    Hi
I've had my Ipod for a good 3 to 4 years now and it has been great up until 3 days ago when it decided to display an error message with a picture of an unhappy Ipod, also it is making a repetitive noise that keeps going until it turns itself off. I have looked at the online support and I haven't really been able to reach any conclusions or fix it - - If anybody has any hints or tips about what is wrong with it or how I can fix it then I would appreciate this greatly. It may just be that it's reached the end of it's life and it's time to invest in a new one but hopefully not so if anyone can help that would be great.
    Thanks in advance,
    Alex

  • Firewire causes Fatal/Stop Windows error with ipod/dock connector

    Hello,
Anyone have any ideas on this one? It's an older Ipod so I'm sure there's some kind of fix for this by now... and I see alot of issues with this on the net in general (but no fixes....wait, now I'm worried...).
    Windows XP, sp2
    New PC, screaming RAM
USB 2.0 works fine, can update 3g Ipod (20GB with dock connector) just fine (and doesn't charge the ipod which is normal for 3g/2.0 USB connections).
When Firewire is connected, charges Ipod just fine until Itunes starts up and tries to access the Ipod, in which case Windows gets blasted out of existance with a fatal stop error.
Is this a bus command issue? Driver issue? Everything works just fine with everything else. I'd like to use the firewire to keep the thing charging while I synch as the USB port runs the battery down QUICK!

    hiya!
(didn't we already meet off in another thread about this sort of thing?)

what numerical and text codes are you getting with it? (ie 0x[zeros/letters/numbers] CAPSANDUNDERSCORES)

if you're just seeing a flash of a blue screen, we can use this technique to slow it down a bit:
    1) Open your system control panel (Start->Control Panels->System).
    2) Select the "Advanced" tab.
    3) Click the "Startup and Recover" section's "Settings" button
    4) Verify that under "System Failure" the "Automatically restart" checkbox is not checked.

  • HT1339 Restoring errors with iPod Classic

My iPod starting having problems after purchasing music from itunes.  It was having problems downloading.  Then it would freeze and turn off.  Now when I try to restore the iPod, I get a message that states there are restoring errors.  Any ideas?

I doubt that there is any connection to purchasing music from the iTunes Store, because those are just regular AAC 256 kbps audio files.
What you describe could be caused by the hard drive in the iPod becoming unreliable.  It may also be a problem with the connection between the iPod and computer.
Try shutting down the computer and disconnecting all USB devices, including any hubs.  Start up with only standard keyboard and mouse connected (if normally used).
Run iTunes and connect iPod to a direct USB port.  If necessary, do a Reset on the iPod (while connected)
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1320
    Try doing a Restore again.

      Other OS

When updating or restoring some iPods via a usb connection, it needs to be plugged into power via the charger to complete the process, and this is why you see this icon displayed.
It's also why older iPods that required this step were supplied with a power adaptor as standard.
You may be able to complete the process via a car charger, or via a powered firewire port on the computer (with the required 6 pin cable of course) if you have access to either of those. Or maybe visit an Apple store if one is nearby.
    Or you can try this.
    No power adaptor? Try this.
Other than that, your iPod cannot be used until you complete this process.
However, if you have an iPod Classic it shouldn't require this step.
You sure the iPod you have is a new Classic?

  • Error with G4; Disk cannot be read from or written to regarding iPod

I get this error after about 5.76 GB of songs are copied. This is a 60 GB iPOd. I had the same problem with a 30 GB ipod.
the help desk directed me to a document no. 301267, and i believe it is useless.
I have tried updater a few times with the latest version. I got a USB 2.0 card. I got the same error with that new card.
I like my iPods. I would really appreciate some help. My older iPod used to copy on around 15 GB.

Did you try to fix your disk like mentioned as in: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=106214

  • Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone can help me.  I recently got my first ever Ipod.  It's the new Ipod Nano 7th Generation.  I have tried to synchronise it with Itunes but it says "Connected, Eject before Disconnecting" but nothing happens.

Hi everyone, I was wondering if someone can help me.  I recently got my first ever Ipod.  It's the new Ipod Nano 7th Generation.  I have tried to synchronise it with Itunes but it says "Connected, Eject before Disconnecting" but nothing happens.  I have tried uninstalling & re-installing Itunes but this didnt help.
    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks for your help.

I think the problem is that the iPod got set to Manually manage music and videos.  It needs to be set up for automatic syncing again.  Just unchecking that Manually manage music and videos setting does not do it.
In iTunes 12, select the iPod in iTunes (using the device button), so that you see the iPod's "management" screen.  In the sidebar (along left side of screen), there are two headings (Settings and On My Device).  Under Settings, click on Music.  To the right, you see the iPod's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box at the top for Sync Music.  That turns ON automatic syncing for music.  Below that, choose the option to sync Entire music library (assuming your music library fits completely on your iPod).  Otherwise, you can choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres and make your selections below.  Then click Apply.

Uninstall everything Apple as per Apple Forum "http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923 for Vista". Be the administrator to ensure you have acces to folders and files which you may need to check.  This is the solution that worked for Vista, but I read the solution for Win 7 is almost identical.
