what is meant by synchronisation ? what are the advantages of this option to the user? plz reply soon.,

Very briefly, one synchonizes the data on the handset for reasons of data security and practicality.
As a measure against data loss in cases where the handset is broke, stolen, unusable etc. it is always a good idea to backup the data offline (to the PC using PC Suite) or online (Ovisync and many others.).
One can also synch the handset with PIM (Personal Information Management) programs like Microsoft Outlook, so that the same info is maintained both on the PC and the mobile phone.
Hope this serves as an introductory info. There is abundant info on the web on synching between gadgets if you need it.

please let us know what patch level your middleware is running on.
The mobileengine.config file is placed in the MI client installation directory in subfolder settings. On PC it is in
c:\Program files\Sap Mobile Infrastructure\settings.
From the URL you mentioned above you are using the "old" technology. Please go the service.sap.com/instguides and follow the setup guid for the old technology.
When you enter the URL directly into the browser you should get a LOGON popup. This shows the service is running. I would expect that you do not get this popup due to missing setup.
If you want to use the new sync service in SICF and you have configured this. have a look into the manual. In that case you are missing some settings on the MI client. The problem is, that the old MI client uses old sync service by default.

Mobile Calendar synchronisation for particular days

Looking to configure the synchronisation settings on nokia mobile for which the synchronsiation should be for only previous 15 days and next 15 days.

Could be the filters from Admin Console.
By default the only the last 7 days are synchronized to device.
You can change this interval to a bigger value to catch your calendar items.

I have multiple apple devices mainly used between me and my wife , my question is that can i have two sets of contacts backed up to icloud one for her devices and one for my devices using the same itunes account

now is it possible to have two sets of contacts and calendar synchronised for her devices and one for my devices using the same icloud account
i dont want a separate itunes account as we use the same music books and apps to be automatically downloaded which is very convenient

You can set up different iCloud accounts on each device using different Apple IDs (to keep your mail, calendars, contacts, etc. separated), and still share the same iTunes account (in Settings>Store on your device). There is no requirement that you use the same Apple ID for purchases and for iCloud.

Fetching of attached files delayed, minutes-hours in Outlook 2011 for Mac from Exchange online

I have an annoying problem I would be grateful if someone could solve.
I run Outlook 2011 for Mac which is synced towards Microsoft Exchange online. Everything works well except when there are attached files in incoming emails. Sometimes it can take up to hours before an attached file is available (the email as such is
available immediately), however luckily it is mostly done within 5-10 minutes. Meanwhile the notification bar switch between "Awaiting synchronisation for this folder" and "Fetching attached files...". There is no actual difference between
larger and smaller files and there is also no problem sending emails with attached files, they are sent immediately.
I have tested in different locations with good connections to rule out unstable internet connection without success.

Mail For Exchange Error -15006

10 days ago we updated our microsoft exchange server 2003 to exchange 2007 sp2. All went fine. Almost all 300 cellphones synchronised over the internet without any problem except for two phones. One Nokia E61 and one Nokia E51. From blank i can only synchronise once. When i start synchronising for a second time i get the message "Error in exchange server" (translated)
I upgraded to the latest firmware and the latest mail for exchange version without solving the problem. Changing the account on the phone also did not solve the problem. So the conclusion is that the problem is not in the account.
In the adminlog of the nokia suite, which i installed to troubleshoot the problem, there is a Mail For Exchange Error -15006.
Anyone have an idea?

Need to reset synchronisation (6230/PC Suite 6.80....

I did something crazy on my handset (6230) last night and somehow managed to wipe all my appointments. I am now worried that, when I sync up my phone to Lotus Notes, that all the appointments there will be wiped too.
I guess that the answer would be to reset synchronisation on the mobile and PC so that it thinks that I am doing a first-time synchronisation. That would dump everything from the PC (Notes) to the handset.
Can anyone tell me how I can persuade PC Suite to 'reset' synchronisation for (i.e. 'forget) this handset? Is it some kind of registry hack?

Open PC Suite
Open Syncronise - Settings - Create new settings and run through the wizard again.

Adb sync not working for commsync and outlook connector after Patch 122793-

I have opened the case 71038740 for this problem.
We have upgraded communication express:
v6.3-4.01 (Patch 122793-17,) ==> v6.3-11.01 (Patch 122793-24)
Communication Express seems to work fine but the adb

Better metadata synchronisation

There are currently a lot of metadata, that lightroom do not allow to edit (gps, ...) for this reason I some time need to edit them outside of lightroom.
When I come back in lightroom I may suddenly make new modifications.
and that is where I ahve a problem, if I did not synchronise lightroom database with the file imediatley , (or forgot some behind), I do not know what the metadata conflict is on!
A pop up that warns you there is a conflict and let you choose to either erase the file info or the database info or do nothing, is just kind of a workaround. It does not help much in this case (it is however greatly appreciated to know that info at least)
What would be great is a 'th choice that would open a window with a table.
first column are the lightroom supported metadata, second column the database record, third column an arrow that can point left or right, fourth column the file record. You would just have to flip the arrow left or right to specify which way you want to synchronise for each metadata.
and then press synchronize.
That way we know what is wrong exactly, and if we both modified the metadata in the file and in the database, we can avoid to have to choose to give up half our modifications.

How to keep everything synchronised on two Macs

Hello,
My Father and I have just got two new Macs: I've got a MacBook Pro (not retina), and my Father has got the new 21.5" iMac. (And of course they both came with OSX Mountain lion).
We need to get them both to synchronise for work and keep them synchronised - if possible keeping all settings, preferences, files, applications etc. synchronised. So that when we swap Macs now and then if going out somewhere, they are exactly the same.
(Haven't got a Time capsule or Time Machine at the moment).

Problems with synchronising fotos

Is there a way to upload foto albums manually?
For the moment I have the following problem.
1) When I upload a new foto album I'm forced to synchronise. But then all my music is gone. I do add my music manually. But that is overruled when I have to synchronise my foto albums. How to solve this one?
2) When I want to delete a photo album, that particular map remains on my ipod but empty. How to solve this?

Even when unchecking the box of sync music I keep having the same problem.
I synchronise my pictures (music sync is unticked as I do that manually) and all music and videos are gone.
Then the other issue with empty photo-albums is also still there. If I untick a box of the album I want to delete afterwards the album is still on my ipod but empty.
Normally the album should be completely deleted aswell.
How to solve this one?
Or shall I reset my Ipod and only use a full synchronisation for everything?
Then again the problem with the empty albums is still there.

Synchronisation fails

I have downloaded a new Itunes version and now my synchronisation for music, books and photo's gives an error. I have tried several times, also have restarted the computer several times, but I can't synchronise anything.

I have same problem.
Tracks keep re-appearing, even after restoring the phone and manually deleting all tracks.
The problematic tracks are ones purchased.
Anyone have any other solution?
