Synchronisation lightroom mobile entre 2 MAC

Bonjour,

As an update, I installed an update 5.7on my Mac laptop, now the Lightroom 5.0 has become a "Lightroom Mobile" version.  How can change it back to the laptop version 5.7?
Thanks for any help you can provide.

LR on your laptop is still a desktop version.  It is just now able to upload to the cloud to replicate photos to either http://lightroom.adobe.com/ or an iPad that has LR Mobile installed.
I think you probably just want to change the LR 5 identity plate back so it doesn’t mention LR Mobile all the time.  Hover over the identity-plate area, and click on the little triangle that appears, then choose Change Identity Plate.

  • How to synchronize Lightroom mobile with multi macs

My lightroom mobile has synced with my working mac. When i login on my own mac, it warms me this.
After I choosing SWITH, the collections on my iPad were cleared and only can be found on my working mac. My other collections (synced with mobile) were also stoped synchronizing.
Is there a solution to sync the collections with multi mac?

Lightroom by default only reads and writes to the Catalog file.
There is the option in Lightroom preferences if selected to "automatically write metadata to xmp"
You can also achieve this from the menu bar Metadata> save metadata to file.
That said, as far as I know, Lightroom will only read metadata from a file at Import or if you choose from the menu bar Metadata> Read metadata from file.
yes i know, the problem is that if the catalogue is an external storage, with raw's and xmp, if I choose Metadata > Read metadata from file, has no effect!

  • Lightroom Mobile sync fail

Well, it sounded good, so I tried it, on just 6 images, those worked, so then I set a larger number, yes, a massive 26 images, yes, that is 26, not 26,000.
It just sits there, and the six images that were visible on iOS are now gone, (I did move them to the new 26 photo collection, so that could be why)
In iOS the new "Collection" name shows up  along with the number of photos that should be in it, but there are none after 12 hours. I've tried uninstalling and reinstall of LR mobile, no difference.
On LR desktop the collection has has 26 photos in it, syncing is on, the almost invisible sync tag is showing alongside the collection.   The only thing it has managed to do is remove the previous testt folder, so I am now down to 0 photos on Lightroom mobile. Not impressive.
    So, questions:
    1. Is it possible to tell from Lightroom (desktop) the status of a sync. i.e have they uploaded and the problem is in the iOS version, or not even uploaded.
    2. Is it possible to use a web browser to see what has uploaded - i.e. check that the images are in the Adobe "cloud"
    3. how long should it take to sync 24 off 5184x3456 pixel jpegs?  (I have both my laptop and phone liked to a 60MB/s fibre broadband connection - being Virgin Media the upload is a bit pitiful at only 2MB/s - but still, surely it shouldn't take days? - the exact same images uploaded to Alamy in about 15 mins)
    4. within the setting fly-out on the LHS on LR Mobile. there are sliders for "Sync only over WiFi", Show touches" & "collect usage data". The first two are set to off, the last one to send data to Adobe is on. None of them can be changed. Same on iPad and iPhone.  Presumably they should be selectable or there wouldn't be an option - can anyone tell me how to enable this?
P.S. I just found a sort of solution to Q.4., when re-installing you get to select those options, not phrased consistently with the options screen, but that seems to do it, but a bit mad you have to delete all your photos and data in order to change a setting, there must be another way.  There is a Setting within the iOS Settings, Lightroom, "Use Mobile Data" which you can slide to "off" position, but it makes seemingly no difference to the setting shown in Lightroom itself, which stays showing it will sync - are these supposed to be linked / synced or not?
My iOS device (iPhone + iPad) see the new "Collection" name, but have no photos in then
Perhaps LR mobile is all a bit embryonic and I should wit for it to mature a bit, but I thought just syncing a few images wouldn't be too challenging
    Thanks for any help.
    Stephen

    Thank you Guido,
It seems all I needed to do was wait, and then wait a bit more, and then wait a little longer.  It took about 14 hours to sync the 26 images - no progress bar air any clue on what progress there was, it just went from zero when I looked after about 13 hours to all 26 images after 15 hours.
So not exactly a reliable tool currently if you need to rely on the transfer.  the same images are in my dropbox account, i did a test duplicating them, and they took about 6 minutes to sync between iPad and mac on the same network - i.e. uploading to DropBox 'cloud' then downloading the iPad.
As I said before, seems a little embryonic perhaps, I think I will probably use it as a 'slide viewer' until the sync becomes a little quicker.
Thanks for your message, and thankfully didn't need the diagnostics this time.

  • Adobe Lightroom Mobile

Anything Adobe has is pretty Good and from what I read this Apps that is now available on Android is one that is Very Popular..  It does however have a Cost of $9.99 and you'll have to use in conjunction with the Desktop App L-5  it sounds fun to try out..
Not sure when I'll do it but if someone already has it or is going to give it the Test Drive post on here how ya Like and if its worth the $9.99 sticker Price..
Here is the Link:  Via Droid Life  Adobe Lightroom Mobile is Now Available on Android | Droid Life

Could you try to remove the sync.lrdata file and restart LrD. This would restart/refresh the sync (metadata only).
Removing the Sync.lrdata might fix whatever the issue is. Remove the Sync.lrdata, start Lr Desktop, and then wait until it either syncs or gets stuck again and create at this point a new Lr Desktop diagnostic log which can hopefully provide some clues.
You can find the  sync.lrdata file here:
    On Mac it's at /Users/<user>/Library/Caches/Adobe/Lightroom/Sync Data/Sync.lrdata
On Win it would be at C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom\Caches\Sync Data\Sync.lrdata
You can trigger the log via LR Desktop preferences -> Lightroom Mobile and when you hold down the alt key you will notice a generate diagnostic log button.
Please send me the LR Desktop diagnostig log  - best as a private message with a downloadable dropbox link.
    Thanks,

  • Lightroom Mobile & Lightroom Web?

I have looked into these programs however, I have a few questions about them. I know it isn't actually uploading the Raw file, therefore, is it uploading Smart Previews? How big are smart previews? Am I able to edit them as if I had the actual file on Lightroom Mobile or Lightroom web? Also, what do I do when I have filled up a Smart view preview with the 20GB of storage? Delete the Smart View previews from my Mac version? When I save the changes I've made on Lightroom web or Lightroom Mobile, it will automatically sync with the desktop versions without telling it to do anything?
I've never built Smart View previews. Is there a quality difference that is noticeable while editing? That way I don't make a decision that doesn't look as good on the original one. I can zoom in the same and everything on a Smart View and it will look as if I have the real file? Or can I set how big my Smart Previews are?
I seen something about collaboration on Lightroom Web, does this mean that my friend who also has Lightroom can go in and work on a file I've made?

    How big are smart previews?
    - about 1mb when I last looked
Am I able to edit them as if I had the actual file?
    -  pretty well. Think of it as equivalent to Quick Develop - good enough ball park adjustments
What do I do when I have filled up a Smart view preview with the 20GB of storage?
    - Not sure. If you have the Photo bundle (PS+LR) there isn't a storage limit
It will automatically sync with the desktop versions without telling it to do anything?
    - yes, that's the beauty of it
I've never built Smart View previews
    - When you sync a collection, LR sends smart previews - as you happen to know. But for using for using LrM/LrW you don't need to know that background information because all LrM/LrW smart preview activity happens behind the scenes.
Is there a quality difference that is noticeable while editing?
    - I regard adjustments as ball park, not final. I might share the pics on FB or email them to a friend, but review them on a colour managed monitor before I might print them. The advantage for me is that I've had time on the train to contemplate how I want the picture to look, and then in the pub I have made those ball park adjustments. So I've saved time, and when I am back chained to the desk I can focus more on the final fine tuning.
I seen something about collaboration on Lightroom Web, does this mean that my friend who also has Lightroom can go in and work on a file I've made?
    - LrW doesn't have adjustments.
    - When you share a collection with someone, they only have favourites and comments, so LrW is more about sharing a shoot with someone who might want to choose which pictures they want. When you get back to your desktop, you can see their favourites and comments, and can easily select the ones they want
    - As the account owner, when you review a collection in LrW you get the Pick/Reject flags in your browser and can use the P / U  / X shortcuts. It's a bigger screen than your iPad/Phone, and colour managed too (though the lack of CM on mobile devices doesn't matter if you remember that you're doing ball park adjustments that save you time later).

  • Lightroom mobile issues

I have started to use lightroom mobile and have it installed on an iPhone, i have tested it with 1 picture to see if it syncs across all devices, it seems not to like my mac mini desktop, it works on the macbook pro no problem, in the collections i have a file named "from lr mobile" and within that one called iPhone photos, all good on the MBP, why does this same file not appear on my mac mini even though it says sync is on

Do you have one cataloge shared on your 2 mac devices? Or are you trying to sync to different catalogs? - Guido

  • Lightroom mobile won't sync (stuck)

i move from apple aperture to lightroom and one of my must have is to sync my photos in to my iPad. with aperture is was easy and simple.
adobe have release lightroom mobile and it's seems like a great idea.
at first setup i sync one folder with 300 photos that i want to edit when I'm not home and its work great! but when i want to sync more folders the sync just stuck.
i delete all and start all over again and it's always stuck. right now i try to sync 1 folder with 22 photos and it's stuck on "syncing 22 photos" 5 hours now and its like that with every try i made in the past week.
i try to "delete all data" in the preference tab, i try to reinstall lightroom... i try every thing
I'm using lightroom for mac and i have cc account lightroom + photoshop
    please help me with this
    thx

Hi Dlp2011. Please try to trigger a "Delete Data" via the Lightroom Preferences -> Lightroom Mobile and re-try to sync your collections with the exception of the "iPhone Photos"-once and let me know if it's working. If so and you would like to have your iphone photos synced create a new collection on your iPad and add them again.
When you add new photos to your mobile device, Lr mobile needs to import the photos locally and send previews+metadata to the back-end. It could be that some of this data was not send and due to this Lr desktop sync started to hand. We identified this bug for 5.5 and should be fixed within the next version 5.6.

  • I am unable to sign in to Lightroom Mobile. I am unable to sign in to connect with the server. I get the message "Lightroom has experienced an unexpected Sign In failure. Please try again later. (attempt to index a nil value.)

Lightroom mobile crash on ipad when synchronization starts. I had this problem a few months ago, I reinstalled LR.

    Thanks!
    Ignacio,
I'm testing the manipulation on my way home tonight, I do not have my iPad with me.
I do well refer to IOS app.
    DdeGannes,
If I allow myself to work on this forum, it is because I have the CC Version!
I have a problem on my ipad, nothing to do with the Mac OS version.
I'll try the manipulation proposed by Ignacio, and you'll keep.

  • Lightroom Mobile and Raw files in Camera Roll

I made a new collection in Lightroom Mobile.  I tried to add some files from my camera roll.  The raw files in my camera roll do not show up when I click on the Add from Camera Roll button.  Is working with raw files in the camera roll not an option in Lightroom Mobile?  My NEF files from my mac have synced over just fine.

This reply may seem a bit old, but I  just started using Lightroom (Desktop and Mobile) this week. I do a good bit of international shooting
(four continents thus far). So I am always looking for ways to improve what I do - especially keeping images safe in the field.
I am shooting with a full frame DSLR and Have and IPAD Mini 3 with 128 Gb
From my experimentation I can tell you the following:
    1. You can import raw files to an Ipad using the camera connection kit. Either direct from camera or using card reader.
    2. The images show up in the IPAD camera roll, but what you are really seeing is the embedded jpeg from the raw file.
    3. There are other APPS that can read these - I currently use PHOTOGENE (I have nothing to do with the company, just a customer) It allows me to do basic edits as well as ad watermarks prior to sending images to Social Media etc.
My theory on Lightroom Mobile and Ipad:
Lightroom mobile syncs your edits between you collection on your Ipad and you Collection on your desktop via WIFI. All of this is done
with "smart"  Previews. These are very small and take very little bandwidth.
I would imagine the syncing between the Ipad and Desktop is handled much like "copying edits" on your desktop in Lightroom. As an example - You have two different images of a dog in Lightroom on your desktop you pull up the first and increase brightness and then increase saturation. You can then choose to copy those edits - pull up the second dog image and paste the edits - and magically the second dog image has increased brightness and saturation.
So, when you are editing a Collection that started on your Desktop in Mobile on you I pad - Lightroom isn't syncing by sending the entire edited image it actually is doing a long distance cut and paste of the edits you perform (very little bandwidth).
For this to work with a RAW file that was just added to and Ipad in the field - the whole Raw image would have to be sent first. (My raw images are 23- 27 meg). So you can see the problem. As a serious photographer that sells my work, I would never consider doing final edits on Lightroom Mobile - Since I use Lightroom on my desktop in conjunction with Photoshop CC, OneOne Suite 9 and Photomatix
The reason that Photogene works is that it is only manipulating the embedded Jpeg file from Raw file. It never has to export the raw file.
DON'T DISMISS THE IPAD/Lightroom Mobile AS A VALUABLE TOOL FOR PHOTOGRAPHY - HERE ARE A FEW REASONS.
Backups in the field. When on a trip where I will be filling many cards, I don't believe in pulling a cared in and out of the camera. I leave a card in the camera until almost but not completely full. At that point I connect the Camera via USB to the Ipad Camera adapter and plug that into my I pad. I then download all images. I then remove the card and store it in a case.
I can now view my images on the bigger and WAY better Ipad Retina Screen. If I have some I want to share before I get home I can make some basic edits to the Jpeg with Photogene and send those via email, Facebook, etc.
I am not secure with on one backup of my card - So I carry a Small Ravpower unit. ($40.00 on Amazon, etc. The Ravpower serves as a backup charger for my Idevices - But most importantly it has a CF clot and a USB port. I place a cf CARD in the slot and/or a thumbdrive in the USB port. (since the Ravpower holds a charge you can also plug in a portable Drive via USB (like a WD Passport)
Using the free App for the RavPower unit I can then set up a private WIFI network between my Ipad and the Ravpower unit and copy the raw files to it. (it takes a while so I usually start this just before turning in and have both the Ravpower and the Ipad connected to charging cables. So now I have my raw stored on the card, the Ipad and whatever I hooked to the Ravpower.
Another great use of Lightroom Mobile and an Ipad is to share you images using Apple TV. My wife doesn't like to sit around the PC fpr long periods of time. So I create collections Using Lightroom Desktop and then pull them up on Lightroom Mobile and send via Apple TV and AIRPLAY as a slideshow on our large screen TV.
Hope some of the above is useful to someone.
