Synchronisation Not Working in My DW CC

I'm using DW CC 13.2 on W8.1
For some reason a few months ago my synchronisation feature stopped working. When I click on the Preview button, the Background File Activity shows with the scan progressing through the selected files, but once finished nothing happens. The sync preview box does not appear - it justs says 'File activity complete'.
The log just says:
Started: 01/05/2014 09:47
File activity complete.
Finished: 01/05/2014 09:47
No files have been synced. I don't even see the 'no synchronization is necessary' message - although I do know that synchronization is neccesary.
I've tried the troubleshooting here: http://helpx.adobe.com/dreamweaver/kb/troubleshooting-synchronization-problems-dreamweaver -mac.html
and it's not resolved. Also I've reinstalled DW and still no joy.
Does any one have any ideas?
Thanks

Oh My Gosh.  This has been bugging me for over a year with multiple versions of DW.  I would try to fix it, give up, and then try again the next time it became a real pain.
It may have happened after some security updates where the FTP user no longer had rights to create folders on the server anymore, now come to think of it.  It could also have been after a DW update but I wouldn't be able to remember what update, just that it persisted through multiple versions including tests of DW CC.  The message "no synchronization is necessary" was basically a bug in the program in my case.  After reading DW CS3 Refuses to Synchronize! - HighDots Forums where a user solved it themselves by discovering DW wanted to create a temp folder on the server it could not, then just gave a bad error response (no synch necessary) instead of saying it could not create the temp folder it wanted, I tested this myself giving back www subfolder creation rights to the FTP file synch user.
That was it!  Synching is working again after over a year!!  It was doubly confusing since it happened even if I was only trying to get/pull synch to local, no need to even update any server files, much less make server folders, but sure enough, as soon as the FTP user could create subfolders on the server it's actually looking through things again, instead of just saying "no synch necessary" though I knew it was most definitely necessary.  I imagine push synching is fixed again too.  If it is erring because it cannot create a server temp folder, the message should indicate that instead of defaulting an incorrect "no synchronization is necessary" errored message.
My error was different, since I was actually getting the "no synchronization is necessary" message, but maybe it's worth checking that your ftp user can create server subfolders.

  • Since Thursday, the synchronisation not working (unknown problem, but correctly login)

    hello,
since Thursday the synchronization failed, but i'm correctly login in "https://accounts.firefox.com/settings"
(i try without antivirus and firewall)
i specify, this is not a creation account. i have no pb for 2 month (i create new account with ff 30...)
i can put my "about:sync-log" if someone is interested in ...
    Thank you

i was in contact with a mozilla dev working on sync and he meant that even if you "remember history" the size issue shouldn't come up under normal circumstances - so maybe let's take this as a one-off failure. <br>in case it reappears you might really consider filing a bug report (but then it may be useful to submit your history files to the devs in some private way)...

  • Ovi Suite + 5230 USB not working

    Preamble:
I recently connected my Nokia 5230 mobile phone to my PC via USB connection and loaded up Ovi Suite (2.2.1.23). Everything worked lovely. But alas! Both an Ovi suite update was available, as well as a update for the phone itself! So I downloaded the latest version of Ovi Suite (3.0.0.284).
Unfortunately, now Ovi Suite does not detect when I select "PC Suite" USB mode (selected on the phone screen). This essentially makes Ovi Suite useless.
So I followed some advice on other discussion pages (more on that later) and reinstalled the Ovi Suite. The problem persisted.
Here are some pictures to help you understand my problem:
    http://i.imgur.com/5IknF.jpg
The computer is able detect the phone is connected via USB. I can even browse the contents of the phone memory and memory card. Upon detecting the connected phone, and me pressing 'PC Suite' on the phone screen, it will show this:
    http://i.imgur.com/lV0rs.jpg
I cannot progress past this screen. The Ovi Suite simply does not recognise that I've selected that option on the phone.
    Defense:
I know what your thinking. "Just another USB thread". Well, I did in fact read plenty of threads on this forum before posting, and have spent the last few hours uninstalling and reinstalling Ovi Suite and drivers in various ways (as suggested in those threads), with no success.
The following is a list of forum threads which I have read and tried all the solutions found in each, and I have copied the solutions (which appear to have worked for other people), for your convenience:

Solutions which did not work for me:
Could you please follow these steps and check?
    1. Disconnect your phone from PC if connected.
2 .Open Control Panel and go to ‘Programs and Features’
    3. From the list of available programs, choose ‘Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver’
    4. Click on the ‘Change’ button on top toolbar.
    5. In the setup dialog box that pops up next, choose ‘Repair’ and select ok. Wait for setup to complete.
    6. Restart the computer if prompted.
    7. Now connect your phone to the PC. Driver installation should complete and PC suite (hopefully) should detect your mobile properly now.
    1. Uninstall all nokia related applications like Ovisuite, pc suite, connectivity cable driver,pc connectivity solutions, nokia software updater etc. from ur PC.
    2. Restart your PC
    3. Now download and install the recent ovisuite from http://www.ovi.com/suite
    4. After installation, disconnect/disable your internet connection (this will make sure that the PC use the drivers which comes with ovisuite and  prevent the PC from downloading any new drivers from internet) and then connect your mobile and wait for drivers and support software installation.
    5. After drivers installation you can connect your mobile to ovisuite from ovisuite screen.

    Hi GannonC,
Uninstall the following Programs, if any, from Control Panel -> Programs and Features or Add or Remove Programs.
    Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver
    Nokia Ovi Suite
    PC Connectivity Solution
Later download and install the latest OVi Suite from the following location.
    http://www.ovi.com/suite
After OVi Suite installation, restart your PC, disconnect your internet from PC and connect your mobile to the PC. This is to prevent the PC searching for a new drivers from internet. OVi suite has all the required drivers for all the nokia phones available in market.
Once all the required drivers are installed automatically, you try connecting the mobile by selecting 'Connect your device' from the bottom left on the OVi suite screen. You should be able to connect your device now.
After connecting you can go ahead and update your maps/ download new country maps.
NOTE: before updating your maps/ download new country maps, you should have used your maps in you mobile atleast once.
Hope this will resolve your issue.
You can connect back your internet anytime after the drivers installation.

After re-starting the computer, I also followed this portion of a suggestion from another post (don't know if it made a difference or not):
"connected the device, waited till all the drivers were loaded.

     (From /t5/Nokia-Ovi-Suite/E52-Sync-Error-8393f010-838c03ee/m-p/740481)
Ovi Suite then recognized my device and the sync appears to have gone smoothly.  I hope it works for you too!  It's ridiculous that it causes so many problems though--I've wasted many hours on something that should have installed correctly the first time.

    Zship's revelations:
So this is not really a problem for me. I have the working, older (2.2.1.23) version of Ovi Suite installed on my netbook, and sure enough, it works fine, I just tried it. I wont be updating Ovi Suite on it though. I also could probably just download the update via 3.5G using just the phone itself, but the problem remains that a simple software update has caused a critical connectivity problem between your software and hardware. Given that many Nokia customers would have less technical know-how than say, myself or anyone else on this forum, this problem is a quite likely a huge inconvenience to them, they probably wouldn't visit these discussions and spend 5 hours reinstalling software like I just did, and they surely would be thinking twice before purchasing another Nokia device in the future.
tl;dr - Nokia recommended update breaks connectivity between software and device, various attempts to fix seemingly simple problem don't work.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

SAME PROBLEM. And none of the many suggested solutions has worked for me yet. I want to thank all on this thread (and many others) for their help. I've learned a lot but I haven't gotten to the bottom of it. I think maybe Nokia needs to ... uh ... bloody well BOTHER TO FIX THIS ISSUE themselves, maybe. Like, cuz they're PAID FOR IT and I'M NOT. Harrumph.
I run Windows XP, and was on Media Player 11, but have rolled back to 9 and 10. I have a Nokia E 72. I have all the latest Nokia cable-drivers, PC Suite, OVI Suite, Connectivity software, etc.. The symptoms are as follows: when I plug in the phone by USB cable, the laptop won't recognize it. It says "USB device faulty" or "failed to load properly" and refuses to get the hardware into its brain. The Device Manager shows only a "Unknown Device" which I cannot install drivers onto. Taking the extra media-card out of the phone doesn't make any difference -- nothing I've done will make the computer recognize the main (built-in) card in the phone. I can't browse to it via any sort of populate / repopulate disk drive, or any other method of connecting it.
As I understand it, this is some conflict with the phone and the new concept of MTP. Media Transfer Protocol confuses the computer, causing it to kind-of think that the phone is kind-of a media player, when in fact it's a whole lot more. So, the "parent" doesn't get loaded, then the rest of the phone doesn't get loaded, then it kind-of tries to load some MTP but fails, etc.. If I could browse to the phone through a non-Nokia connection I'd be happy to do so in order to implement any of a number of the suggestions above. But I can't get the computer to recognize the phone when the phone is plugged in by USB, regardless of all the solutions above.
The problem began a few days ago. It just up and wouldn't recognize the phone. I hadn't installed any updates that I knew of on either item, but it's possible that my memory is faulty and a newer version of this or that snuck in there and screwed it all up. I have tried a serious roll-back to a Restore Point about six weeks old, but that didn't solve the problem. This suggests to me that the problem is phone-resident, since the rollback was to a computer-based Restore Point and I don't have phone rollback capability.
This seriously hampers me. PC Suite, OVI, and some future version of Nokia Suite, will all be useless to me unless Nokia accomplishes the stunning act of supporting their software. I won't hold my breath. Just in general, you'd think that plug-and-play of a phone into your computer would be a lot simpler. Just take the cord -- stick it in the phone; stick it in the computer -- and shazam, you're plugged in. But NOOOOOO we're on NOOOOOOKIA ... Now I know why Microsoft wanted to buy them so badly. They knew they'd all get along and have the same assumptions about software -- that it doesn't really matter whether it works reliably on a user's computer at his home, as long as it works in theory on some programmer's ideal personal computer in Seattle once in a rare while. Nokia? Meet Microsoft. Microsoft? You and Nokia will get along juuuust fiiiine ...

  • Hyperlink not working in some browsers

    Hi,
I have created an E-Bulletin template and from this distribute a fortnighly issue. I distribute this by sending a hyperlink in the body of an email as follows:
    http://www.scec.org.au/E-Bulletin_8th_April_2011.html
I have not had any problems until yesterday and have received a few complaints from our members stating that when they open this edition all they get is text links which do not work, yet others do not have a problem. I had this problem when I sent it to my personal home computer using IE 7, and normally I do not have any problem opening it, and have not needed to use any other browser. I have also provided a link to the previous E-Bulletin for March  http://www.scec.org.au/E-Bulletin_25th_March_2011.html   which I and others had no problem opening, to see if you can see what the problem is between the two. I am not very good with techno stuff so could your answer be simple please.
Thank you so much in advance.

As a follow on from the above, I figured out that the template I made which has previously worked ok is now not synchronising. The template is a dwt file, is saved in the tmplate folder and the site root folder so I do not know what is going on as I haven't changed it in any way.
After synchronising the error log says:
File activity incomplete 1 file were not completed
    Files skipped:7
    Files with errors: 1
    Templates\e-bulletin template.dwt
Don't know if this will help but here is the first bit of code from the template:

Don't know how else to show you seeing can't copy/paste info here.
Also one thing you should know if I send a link in an email to the webpage, those on my network view it fine!
I have been trying everything for days with my limited knowledge of Dreamweaver and am so over it, am desperate for any help.
I am now turning to alcohol while I await your response.

  • Bluetooth On/Off Button Not Working

I have been successfully using my Nokia 2760 with a Bluetooth Dongle to synchronise with my Windows XP Computer since I bought the phone about 6 months ago.
Now, out of the blue, my phone is not displaying the Bluetooth icon and when I try to switch it on/off (in Connectivity> Bluetooth) it appears to be on but when I switch it off it stays "on" but still no icon.
The computer does not detect the phone at all.
    Any idea what has happened?
I'd be grateful for any advice.
    Thanks
    Trap

Did you try removing the battery for a few minutes?
If BT still doesn't work after, you could also try updating your phone firmware to see if the latest firmware irons out the problem. Of course, backup all your essential data (phonebook, messages, notes, settings, etc.) before attempting the Nokia Software Update.
If it still does not work, then off to the service center you go!

  • Safari not working on ipad mini

Hello, I can"t seem to get Safari working on my ipad mini. The screen is unresponsive and the text input boxes cannot have any text inputted. I have gone thru the various remedys I have found in this and other forums and nothing has worked. I brought it into an Apple store for a Genius to try and remedy and the inital troubleshooting didn't work. They tried a reboot, reset, and finally a new restore and the results were all the same.....nothing. They then took a brand new iPad mini out of a sealed box and setup that one. Believe it or not, after setting it up the same problem occured on this new iPad mini! So I asked to have my original iPad back as it had a personalization etched on the back but was told it was already swapped out and they couldn't return it to me. So now I have a brand new iPad mini that exhibits the same problem of Safari not working and also the advice from the Genius that in a couple of days Apple will have an update. I haven't seen any updates as yet so I am asking anyone on this forum if they have a solution to get Safari working. By the way everything else on the unit functions, I can surf using Chrome, read emails, etc.

  • "Email for Nokia" Not Working Properly after Firmw...

The "Email for Nokia – 10 Accounts" also called Nokia Messaging does not work after firmware upgrade.
I upgraded my E63 firmware from 400.21.13 to 410.21.10 (the latest).   After upgrade, I installed the Email software, ver 9.07(2), from Ovi store.  The problem starts after I entered my email address and password.  The software imported the email account to the Communication --> Messaging  folder (where you used to read your text message). Before upgrading, the email software manages all my email accouts and synchronise up to 10 emails.  Now that nice email software and user friendly interface no longer show up.  Instead it uses that poor design Communication --> Messaging folder.  It only allows maximum 2 email acct. auto retrieval and NOT working with yahoo mail.
Please advise how can I get eh Nokia email works again.  thanks

Very upset with Nokia's tech support service, taking so long not calling back after contacting them.  Finally I found a work around.  After reinstall the email software, setup a new email account never used with Nokia email before.  Then the software will setup correctly instead using the messaging folder.  This is a bug with the Nokia email software and the new firmware.    OR the Nokia email software is intended to do it that way because it's a trial version.  It just let you try it for the first time of installation.

It looks like it is trying to opening

From what I see, we did not have this error in the previous version.
What is weird, that adb seems to work fine in uwc web interface.

  • Nokia messenger not working !

I am using a E72 handset , where I have configured my persona emails. The messanger service was working beautiful till 15-07-2010, after which its not synchronising at all. I tried to login at the Nokia messanger site; did not allow me stating data unavailability. When I contacted the Nokia help line, initially they suggested me to change the hotmail email address(login for N Messenger) and try the new password for logging in. It did not work. Thereafter they ould not give me any solution.
I am also unable to delete the mail accounts on my mobile; with a message that email accounts are not connected to server.
    Ca anyone help me out?

Nokia Series 40 has two configurations, one HTTP(s) and one for the rest, therefore we have to double-check your configuration in Nokia » Menu » Settings » Configuration » Preferred Access Point. Which one is shown and which one should it be. Or asked differently: Which network operator do you use, in which country?

  • My keyboard does not work properly when texting etc

    Hi All
My keyboard does not work properly on my Iphone 4 when texting, it brings the wrong letter or wont let me choose the one i want.  Anything i can do to correct this or is it a visit to apple?
Cheers for any support in advance.

I have rebooted and synchronised it with the mac.  I dont even have to touch the screen now and some letters get picked up.

  • G4 / Samsung 206BW  LCD : stretched only, non extended not working

    Hi,
I have a Samsung Syncmaster 206BW (22" wide, 1680*1050 native resolution) plugged on my MDD G4 with DVI (not working with VGA because the Radeon 9000 Pro only manages 4/3 modes in analog).
In the monitors panel settings in OSX (Tiger and Leopard) i see two modes for some resolutions : for example 1024*768 and 1024*768 (extended). However with the two modes the image is stretched to fit the screen. The first (not extented) should add black pixels to around the centered image, and it does'nt work.
So i can't use games in 1024*768 or other 4/3 low res (my G4 can't use the native resolution for games, too much resource heavy).
I tried turning on the monitor after the mac but it is the same, tu non extended mode is managed the same way as the extended mode (stretched).
Is there an utility for mac (as Catalyst Control Center on PCs) to force the monitor to accept unstretched mode ? There isn't any mode setting on the LCD settings. Some say this is a known problem with Samsung LCDs.
Should i return it and buy another LCD ? It this the same with Apple LCD displays ?
I use a Belkin 3m DVI-D wire on both sides.
    Thank by advance.

    Hi,
I can see and use the 1680*1050, in fact this is the only resolution mode that works ok since start. My problem is that i can't play any game in that resolution (99% mac games don't support wide, and even if this would work it would be recent games, and my Radeon 9000 Pro wouldn't support them - or it would be unplayable due to the high resolution leading to very poor fps).
I can't see the ratio settigns in DisplayConfigX (should be here as in the utility screenshot on the site), the only settings i can use are porch values and "Synchronisation" instead of "Extended" ("Manual" is not available). There is very few documentation for that utility and settings calculations seem very complex.
I see that on Windows users have to use Catalyst Control Center to switch from wide aspect to 4/3 aspect (that is 4/3 centered image with black areas surrounding it). This is the only way to play old games, or recent games with low resolution, and with correct aspect (for now the image is stretched to fit the whole screen, so not proportionnally, not 4/3).
Some say that the graphic card driver manages to add black pixels around the centered image in the pixels map sent through DVI to the screen, when non extended mode is selected. It seems there is a problem in OSX, or in the Radeon 9000 Pro driver, or in the card itself.
Can i be assured the problem can be solved from the computer side ? In the other cas i must return the LCD to the store in less than two weeks... but they don't have interesting 19" LCD to replace it (stretching would lead at least to a correct ration from 1204*768 to 1280*1024, and the stretching is not so bad on the Samsung, ration problem appart).
Should i add a new entry through DisplayConfigX : 1024*768 Synchronisation in addition to the 1024*768 Extended, to see if that work ?
Where did OSX retrieve the second mode, 1024*768 (that is non extended), that doesn't work (same result as 1024*768 (Extended)) ? I saw somewhere that there is a display config system file in System/Library (the one DisplayConfigX edits to add/modify listed modes, and the one we must delete if the screen doesn't work after making settings - in Single user mode or with an other screen, my old CRT for example).

  • Bluetooth connectivity pc suite not working anymor...

After problems with upgrading to pc suite 6.8 i got the advice from Nokia to re install version 6.6.
The installation of the pc suite 6.6 was successfull and I could synchronise via USB cable DKU-2.
The bluetooth connectivity is not working anymore. Before the upgrade I had the bluetooth connectivity working (WIDCOMM BT, Belkin dongle) but after re-install version 6.6 I only can select the Bluetooth windows option in the connectivity manager.
Is there a solution to add the widcomm bluetooth driver again (like it used to work in version 6.5 and 6.) in the pc suite without re-installing the pc suite
I use the nokia 6680 and pc suite 6.6
    Hope you cuold help me

The repair did'n work. I've installed the pc suiten on 2 pc's and on 1 pc the bluetooth is working correctly.
The ssytem info on the working pc is:
    Bluetooth-stacks:
    Microsoft Bluetooth-stack
    Versie 5.1.2600.2180
    WIDCOMM Bluetooth-stack
    Versie 4.0.1
    Build 2401
On the computer with the bluetooth problems the WIDCOMM bluetooth-stack is missing. On both pc's i've installed the same pc suite and the same belkin bluetooth dongle
