Synchronisation of contacts from Outlook to SAP Business One

Dear all,
i have installed the Outlook Integration Add-On and want to synchronize Contacts from SAP Business One to Outlook and this worked fine. Now I also wanted to synchronize contacts from Outlook to SAP Business One (changes and new Contacts) and I activated the check box for this in the settings. But after I run the synchronisation nothing happened, even the contact folder has been selected in the Contacts - MS Outlook Criteria settings. Do I have to do something else?

David,
The forum you have posted your question in is for questions related to the SAP Business One SDK.  You may want to post your question in the SAP Business One Discussion Forum as your question is application related.

  • Outlook Integration - SAP Business One

I am looking for information (marketing materials) on outlook integration for SAP Business One.
As well, is it true that you do not necessarily need to have a B1 user license in order to use outlook integration? If so, how does this work?
    Thank you

  • Looking to switch career from Java to SAP Business One

    Hi All,
I have around 4 yrs of experience in JAVA/J2EE application development.I am planning to switch my career into SAP(in Technofuctional module).Actually, I want to switch my career from coding to functional domain(in SAP) but i don't know how to get into it.I want to work as close as to the business and get use of my technical background because that's all I got so far. Please guide me which SAP module i would choose to build my career and what steps i should  take .
    Thank You

    Hi SunnyB
SAP Business one is an intergrated solution with all domains in one application.  Things like purchasing, materials, finance, crystal reports etc comes into one single application called SAP Business One.  Historically SAP Business One developmed by a software firm based in Israel and SAP AG acquired the company and renamed it like SAP Business One.  My suggestion would be it is a good application suitable for small and medium type businesses where business processes are not complicated.  However, if you want to make career in one specific domain listed below, you need to look into SAP's ERP modules:
    1.Materials Management
    2.Financials(Financial Accounting)
    3.Controlling(Cost & Management Accounting)
    4. BI(Business Intelligence is a reporting tool and data mining tool)
    5. HR
    6. Basis(Technical module where installation and authorisation including system security etc are taken care of)
    7. Travel Management(Application for employee/non-employee expense claims)
    8. ABAP(Advanced Business Appln.Programming owned by SAP AG)
    9. Project Systems
    10. Others that I donno at this stage but exists.
My suggestion would be to go for anything as per your interest and not purely financial.  Of course you'll be rewarded good with any of the above modules but learn based on your interest.
    Good luck!
    Mohammed.

  • Importing the (active) Fix Asset with ◦Accumulated ordinary depreciation to Sap Business One 9

    Hi all,
I'm trying to upload the  Active Fix Asset to the SBO (no new).
    for example:
    item:                          FixAsset
    Useful life :                48 (month)
    Remaining Life:        12 (month)
    APC(Historical cost): 10000
    Accumulated Ordinary Depr.: 7500
    So  Value Balance: 1500
and Life Balance :     12 month
I have tried to Import active ITEM  by Excel ,follow this link : Importing Fixed Asset Master Data from Microsoft Excel - SAP Business One 9.0 - SAP Library
every time recieve the message :
Cannot import asset "fixasset"; a new asset's useful life and remaining life must be the same in depreciation area "AFA"

    Hi,
    Please check SAP note:
2001876 - The system does not consider the Salvage Value nor the
Remaining Book Value when you import assets
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Synchronising contacts from Outlook

My Curve 9320 won't synchronise contacts from Outlook.  It is configured to do so (one way, computer to device) and says it is doing it - I get a list of conflicts and choose my computer to override my phone, but then it does not actually make any changes.  Anyone help please?

    Hi HelenSimpson,
I would recommend first backing up all of your data, then clearing the Address Book database on your BlackBerry 9300 smartphone, and then trying the one way synchronization again. This KB article should help you clear your Address Book database. "How to clear the user content databases from the BlackBerry smartphone"  http://bbry.lv/JtQKcw This will remove all current entries from the BlackBerry Curve 9300 smartphone Address Book. Once you have cleared the database, before you try to restore any information from the backup file, can you please try to synchronize again to see if that resolves the issue for you?
Let me know if this helps.

  • Exporting selected contacts from Outlook 2011 for Mac

I've wanted to easily export a set of selected contacts from Outlook in Microsoft Office for Mac 2011.  I've been through many threads about synching to Address Book and then exporting, but I've found a host of troubles, including duplicate copies of contacts being created.
So, I finally broke down and wrote an AppleScript script to export all of the currently selected contacts from Outlook to a file in either vcf (vcard) or csv (comma separated value) format.  The best use of this script is to:
-- Install this as a script in Microsoft Outlook by saving the script below to Documents>Microsoft User Data>Outlook Script Menu Items
-- Change to your Contacts in Outlook.  Use the Outlook search bar to find the contacts you want to export.  You might search by name, category, company, or anything else that identifies the contacts you want to export.  Or, you might just leave the view showing all contacts.
-- Select the contacts you want to export
    -- Launch the script
The script will have you select between vcard and csv and select a destination file.  This hasn't been optimized for speed, so if you're exporting 100's or 1,000's of contacts, be patient.  And there isn't a progress bar at present, so you have to wait.  It will display an alert when it's complete.
Sorry not to have a download location for you.  You'll just have to copy the script text :-).  Keep in mind there's been some but limited testing.  Read the comments for details.  And enjoy.

--  build_csv_line(): format one line for the csv file

--  Unfortunately I've not figured out how to use perl-style generation of
--  indirect references.  If I could, this would have been much more elegant
--  by simply using the field name to refer to a Contact properly.
--  Note that email address are a special case as they're a list of objects in
--  Outlook.  So these are handled specially in the export function and can only
--  be selected by the column names "home email", "work email", and "other email".
--  Outlook allows a contact to have more than one of each type of email address
--  but not all contact managers are the same.  This script takes the first of
--  each type.  So if a contact has more than one "home" email address, you will
--  only be able to export the first to a csv file.  Suggest you clean up your
--  addresses in Outlook to adapt.  The alternative is to support multiple
--  columns in the csv like "other email 1" and "other email 2", but that's not
    --  supported in this version.
--  Another note.  In this version, any embedded "return" or "linefeed" characters
--  found in a property of a contact are converted to a space.  That means that
--  notes, in particular, will be reformated.  That said, this gets arond a problem
--  with embedded carriage returns in address fields that throw off importing
    --  the csv file.
--  Also note that at this time IM addresses aren't supported, but it's an easy add
--  following the same logic as email addresses.

  • Outlook Add-On in SAP Business One 8.8

    Hi Experts
I recently Upgraded to SAP Business One 8.8
I installed Outlook Add-On (I installed Outlook server, outlook .ard file and Outlook stanalone) when I start the add-on its is connected and it gives a message Initialization Failed.
So I cannot see the  'create default templates' screen.
But the strange thing is when i click syncronize in outlook it can syncronize all datas and it also creates snapshots for business patners.
My question is how I can fix the error says initialization fails and how to send emails from SAP business one using Outlook.
    Thanks and regards

    Hi Vinodh Kumar,
What is your OI version?  I am afraid there is no 8.8 compatible version ready yet.
    Thanks,

  • How to Control the Sorting Order of iPhone Contacts from Outlook?

In a series of editing steps we've loaded ca. 1,900 personal and business contacts from Outlook into a 1st gen iPhone with 2.0.1 software on it. To our surprise we found that while most of the entries were listed and sorted by company, certain entries were listed and sorted by the person's name. It looked random and there didn't seem to be any way to control it on the iPhone.
While troubleshooting the problem we synced up the iPhone with an empty Address Book on a MacBook Pro and found that the sort order flag was indeed set differently on these entries. When we changed the sorting flag of a contact in the Mac's Address Book to "Company" it also changed on the iPhone after the next sync.
Problem: In our business environment it is impossible to switch to Macs for contact administration. We need to do it from Outlook. This is one of several features needed for the adoption of iPhones.
Question: Is there a way to control this flag on the individual iPhone contact entries from Outlook Contacts?

Well, I think we figured it out.
Outlook doesn't offer a sorting flag on person or company name. Instead it uses a separate "File As" string. The problem with our contacts was that this "File As" string was frequently edited to be something else than exactly the personal or company name, e.g. it was set to an abbreviated company name. Once we set the "File As" to any of the defaults offered, i.e. person or company name, the sorting flag in iPhone was properly set through the synchronization.
Obviously, the application logic compares the content of these fields in Outlook and decides how to set the flag. If it can't find the company name in "File As" it defaults to person.
This was an expensive holdup for us. It cost us 2 man days to figure it out. Is there any place where such application logic is described?

    Hi,
Do you mean you have a Main report that is written based on SQL Command and there are 8 subreports linked to the main report?
If that is the case, I assume when user select 'Document Type" eg invoice, it will pass that to the subreport and retrieve information?
This is how I will approach it.
    1. Make sure the connection is consistent, if you are using ODBC(RDO) then make sure that is the same for main and subreport. You can check that in Set database connection. Right click on the connection, look at the Properties.  Don't assume that the name is the same, eg: SBO_DemoUS, they are all ODBC(RDO) for instannce.
In Crystal, when you are using different connection, it will just prompts you a warning message and it will still run.
    2. Delete all and only keep one subreport, example AR invoice and see it will still give a problem.
Replace the parameter with a set value in Record selection in subreport and see what happen.

  • Is there any way to sync Outlook for Mac with iPhone? I have tried everything but not successful. Apple says it is not possible to sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5. Any help will be much appreciated.

Is there any way to Sync contacts from Outlook for Mac to iPhone 5? Apple support says that only iTune can only sync contacts from "Contact" which is the default contact of Mac. If one is running Outllok on a Mac machine then it is not possible to sync the contacts with iPhone. It is strange that Apple distributors are promoting and offering machines with promise that Windows users can now run MS Office on Mac machines without any problem. While this is true, it is so strange that one cannot sync the contacts from MacBook Pro to iPhone5. If someone has found a way to sync contacts from Outlook to iPhone 5 please help as it is very frustrating to not be able to sync the contacts. Thanks, Amit.

  • How can i move contacts from outlook on my pc to my new mac?

how can i move contacts from outlook on my pc to my new mac?

In Outlook export the contacts as vCard files and then it just a matter of opening Address book and either importing them or you can drag them into the app.
    It's a pretty simple process.

  • How can I sync the contacts from outlook on my macbook pro with my iPhone

My iPhone 5 is backing up on iCloud and my music, etc is syncing through iTunes (11.4) on my MacBook Pro 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 4GB 1600 MHz DDR3 but my calendar and contacts from Outlook 2011 are not syncing.  Does anyone know which settings I may need to change?  I have updated my operating system to OS X 10.9.4 and iTunes.

You'll need to find a way to export your Outlook contacts and calendar to Apple's Contacts and Calendar applications. There are some paid software apps that can do this but I don't know of any free way other than exporting each event/contact individually. Outlook 2011, when it first came out, synced well with iCal and Address Book (or whatever it was called) but that's no longer the case... maybe when Office for Mac 2014 comes out?
Sorry that I don't have an answer to what seems to be a common problem.
