Synchronisation problems
I have recently upgraded to windows 7 ultimate on tow of my laptops. The one is an HP 4510s and I have no problem synchronising with my Nokia N97 using PC suite 7.1.40.1.
However when I try and synchronise with my other Laptop an Asus F5RL with the same outlook settings I get the following message: Please check your Synchronisation settings and ensure your phone is in the Idle state, then restart the Synchronisation.
I have tried all different settings but still get the same message. However the Nokia OVI sofware synchronises without a problem.
I have restarted the phone and made sure its is in the idle state. I have unintstalled PC suite and even used the pc suit cleaner but no success.
Can anyone please assist with this problem.
If Ovi Suite is working then use that, Ovi suite is due to replace PC suite soon anyway. Try Ovi Suite Beta, it is now available, just google it.
Good Luck

Synchronisation problems between apple mail client on a MacBook Pro and Gmail
I am having synchronisation problems between apple mail client and gmail on the MacBook Pro, but no similar problems on the ipad and iphone. My mail is not being collected by the aplle mail client on the laptop, and now all my inbox for my gmail account has disappeared, although the Archive and sub folders under "Google" are still showing.
This is an intermittent problem.
I have previousy re-built the mailbox and solved the problem, but there must be something more fundamental going on, as the problem has occurred again.
Anyone have any tips?Sorry, but no. POP3 versus IMAP has nothing to do with keeping spam off your computer. Your ISP should be doing its filtering before the mail reached the mail server in either case, and your Mac would be doing its filtering after downloading the mail from the mail server in either case. (Your iPad does no filtering at all.)

When I wake up my iMac after sleep, i get a variety of intermittent - but mostly FREQUENT and FRUSTRATING problems including:
Notes app is offline - as stated by a message in the window bar. If I close Notes and reopen, the app appears to be online. However, Notes does NOT update with items I know are on my iPad or in the web iCloud. Furthermore, if I create a new note on my iMac, the new Note does not upload to iCloud. This is IRRITATING!
Pages and Numbers - similar situation. I can edit a Pages or Numbers document on my iMac (stored on the iCloud). But then the Pages doc doesn't ALWAYS get uploaded to the iCloud. Then I end up with conflicted versions of the file in the cloud, my iPad, and the two iMacs I use. Then I get CONFUSED and FRUSTRATED. For example, consider these steps:
Open Pages on my iMac, edit an iCloud file, then save and close file
Pages/File/Open/iCloud - I note in the iCloud file list the edited file has a little 'cloud' icon against its name. From experience this warns me of TROUBLE - namely that the file has NOT yet been uploaded to the iCloud. However, I just checked the new Beta iCloud on the web, and to my surprise, the file edited on my iMac is apparently in the icloud. But now, I edit the iCloud version, and the changes DO NOT appear on my iMac pages version. OK I realise its in Beta version...
So now, I open my iPad, open Pages. I note the iCloud version of my edited document updates to my iPad, as indicated by a blue download line. 'It just works' as Steve Jobs claimed at Apple Developers Conference a couple of years back. Again, the edited version form my iPad is now 'up in the cloud' correctly....
Oh - and now mysteriously the Pages version on my Imac has become synchronised with my iPad/iCloud version! Luck ... but that's about all I can say. It doesn't always happen. I'm LUCKY today.
Meanwhile, the Note I created on my iMac (Item 1 above) has still not yet appeared on my iPad or iCloud... even though I HOPE it would be given that Pages on my iMac, iPad and iCloud are chatting nicely now! The Note says it's in my iCloud - but NOT. Similarly, notes updated or added on my iPad, which appear in iCloud, are NOT on my iMac.
Mail - last but NOT LEAST! and MOST INFURIATING!!! My Gmail, Vodafone NZ and Orcon accounts (in Mail) are all active and receiving after the night's sleep. However, my iCloud mail account has the dreaded offline.
The message on Mail is "There may be a problem with the mail server or network. Verify the settings for account “ICloud - [email protected]” or try again. The server returned the error: The server “p03-imap.mail.me.com” cannot be contacted on port 993." Despite the message, mail was received this morning at 8:59 am ... some time before I woke-up my computer (a late start this morning).
If I sent an email FROM my .me iCloud account TO my Vodafone account, the message whooshes away, it's in my SENT box. But it doesn't get delivered to my Vodafone account on my iMac Mail, or anywhere else, Despite the message being listed in my 'Sent' mailbox!!!
In contrast, a message sent from my Gmail account to my Vodafone account (in Mail) gets sent and received almost instantly on my iMac and iPad.
All of the above mishaps are extremely frustrating, as I rush off from working on my iMac at home, get to my iMac at work and find documents I have been updating on my home iMac not available correctly on my work iMac ... or even my iPad. I expect these things from Apple to 'just work'. Furthermore, emails I THINK I have sent (as indicated by them appearing in the Sent folder on my home iMac) ... have not actually been despatched.
Frankly, I can no longer rely or recommend the Apple iCloud stuff, so I am converting more and more to relying on DropBox and Google.
These problems only became apparent since I updated to one of the Mountain Lion versions... I can't say when.
Oh - if I shutdown and restart the computer my Mail works OK. Guess what, I don't want to do that each time I want to use Mail!
Technicals:
My iMac is connected by Ethernet cable to my Apple TimeCapsule. The TimeCapsule is connected by Ethernet cable to my Orcon Genius Modem.
Obviously, my internet connection is A-OK, as I am able to use Firefox to make this posting!
Mountain Lion 10.8.4

Synchronisation problem when using iFS as Portal document repository
Is anyone using 9iFS as the repository for their Portal documents but getting DRG-11602: URL store: access to <file name> requires authentication when synchronising the PORTAL30.WWSBR_URL_CTX_INDX index. This is run under schema CTXSYS, using ctx_schedule.
We use a URL on the Portal folder to access the iFS document and, if the ACE on the document ACL includes World Read, then the document is indexed correctly but if it has no World Read access then synchronisation fails with the above error. These secure documents are indexed correctly, however, when synchronising IFSSYS.IFS_TEXT.
When you put the URL for the document in the browser then you are prompted for an iFS username/password and this is obviously the problem when synchronising. Oracle Support say that the Oracle 9i Oracle Text Reference, Chapter 2: Indexing, definition of URL_DATASTORE states :The login:password@ syntax within the URL is not supported. Oracle Support have also suggested that using iFS as the Portal repository is not standard practice and that we should simply add our documents as items on the folder. Doing this means not being able to take advantage of the added functionality of iFS such as versioning and, anyway, I thought that Oracle had plans to fully integrate the two products with iFS being the default repository in a future release of Portal.
Until then has anyone got any ideas for a workaround because we are unable to index the contents of all secure documents on our Corporate intranet? We cant be the only site using iFS and Portal in this way!Hello Raymond,
I must say that I downloaded the JBoss Portal Binary and not the bundle JBoss AS + JBoss Portal, because I already had a JBoss AS working, so it was the best way to do it (as it is said in the JBossPortalReferenceGuide). I have both things (server and portal) in the same directory, but I don't know if maybe one of them should contain the other (I have seen that in the bundle, the portal directory contains the JBoss application server) When I downloaded the JBoss Portal and tried to deploy it by directing my web browser to http://localhost:8080/portal it did not work, so I decided to copy the jboss-portal.sar directory from the JBoss Portal to the deploy of my server. Maybe this was a mistake.
But anyway I have seen that JBoss Portal 2.6 comes with the myfaces jars, and as JBoss AS 4.2 uses Sun RI by default, it is going to collapse anyway. Should I just remove these jars from the portal? As I told you before, I tried doing it and I got two errors of not found classes.
Please, any help would be really appreciated, I am losing a lot of time with this bug, because the server keeps getting out of memory due to it.
Thanks in advance. -
Keynote sound/picture synchronisation problems
I am using Keynote '08 for a presentation with 500 photos and a sound track which I created in GarageBand using various music tracks (total time 45min.) The problem is that when showing the presentation the sound track is no longer correctly synchronised with the picture slides, although this was the case when I last quit keynote. I know a lot of you have been having problems with keynote 08. Is this just another unsolved problem that needs to be fixed by apple? Any thoughts / ideas would be appreciated.

Synchronisation problem using rules (subfolder) at Outlook
Hello!
I have a synchronisation (subfolder) problem with my outlook account using the standard iOS-mail App. I have several rules to move emails from specific sender to subfolders. These rules were created directly @ Outlook.com.
There isn't any notice of new emails in the subfolder. So I need to open the subfolder to receive new mails.
Is it possible to synchronise the whole inbox folder (with subfolders) without open it manually?
Best regards

Synchronisation problem between Curve 9300 and Outlook
I have a Curve 9300 on 6.0 that synchronize with Outlook 2007.
Everything worked fine until last week (or so) when my Calendar entries on the BB don't synchronize anymore with Outlook. The Outlook Calender entries still synchronise on the BB. Everything else synchronise perfectly.
Since this is a new problem, I assume that something has changed either on the BB or on Outlook that makes this feature stop working. This is making my life complicated. Has anyone experienced a similar problem, and has found a solution?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,Hi and Welcome to the Community!
I suggest this thread:
http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
Good luck!

E6 - calendar synchronisation problem
Hello everybody
I have a problem with calendar synchronisation. I try to synchronise my phone calendar with Google calendar. I set up all necessary options in Mail for Exchange (server version 1.2, server id: Google, hot address: https://m.google.com/syncml, port 443, network connection: internet, my username and password), but although my contacts synchronise fine, the calendar does not. I receive the following message: wrong remote database. I set the remote database as "calendar" in options (just as in previous Symbian Nokias), but it is apparently wrong. For contacts, setting remote database as "contacts" works fine. What do I do wrong? I'd be very grateful for any help.
Solved!
Go to Solution.Hi krzywarp,
Welcome to our Nokia forum!
If your Mail for Exchange account is configured correctly and you can view your contacts, there's nothing wrong with the account and everything's syncing the way it should.
The reason why you are unable to view your calander is most likely because you're not authorised to do so by your administrator.
If you ask your administrator they will be able to tick the calander box. When you resync your Mail for Exchange account after this, you will be able to view your calander.
Hope this helps.

Hi,
I am using the latest PC Suite for Nokia 6230i. I am using the DKU-2 cable on windows xp sp2.
I can upload all the contact details using Outlook 2003 onto the phone.
However I cannot synchronise any updates without having to make a new connection again.
I get this error message.
PC Sync has encountered a problem and has terminated the synchronisation.
Just one little thing, we use Novell Groupwise as our main emailing system. Outlook is just the front end. In the Pc Synch Settings, the Microsoft Outlook Profile setting is set to synchronise with Groupwise. What do you mean by writing "new connection again"? DO you mean new settings for PC Sync application?

AD-OID Synchronisation Problem(instance 1 is not running)
To synchronise Active Directory to OID I have created Import/Export profiles, done the bootstraping successfully, but when trying to run the oidsrv server by the command
oidctl connect=iasdb server=odisrv instance=2 configset=1 flags="port=389" startgetting some problem.
This command is making Instance 2 run successfully but instance 1 is stopping. This is happening each time i am executing this command and so not being able to access OID entries.
Give me a solution so that i can make both the instance run successfully. Is configset=0 instance=1 running on port 389? If so, try changing the port(s) in either configset=0 or configset=1, [preferably in configset=1 (for synch operations)].

I've tried searching for a fix for this but no luck
When I give permission for my itunes/ipod to synchronise with my ms outlook 2003 calendar, it will not do it, however it synchronises all my contacts from outlook no problem!?How can I fix this?? Help greatly appreciated:)http://www.apple.com/support/ipod101/maximize/2/#2
Open Outlook and make sure that the events you wish to take with you are up to date.
Connect your iPod to your computer, then open iTunes (if it doesn't open automatically).
On the Edit menu, click Preferences.
Click the iPod tab, then click the Calendars tab in the iPod pane.
Select the "Synchronize calendars from Microsoft Outlook" checkbox.
Click OK to copy your calendars (see "Viewing Calendars," below, to find out how to view your schedule on your iPod). iTunes will now automatically update your calendars whenever you connect your iPod. -

I have 2 bb curves and I always synchronised them with bb desktop software on my laptop throught outIlookexpresss.
My laptop just died so I bought with windows 7, and apparently you can not use outlook express on it. I would like to know what are my options. I was thinking outlook 2010 but I didn't see anywhere that says that desktop software will work with outlook 2010 64 bits. You can install Outlook 2010 in 32 bit mode ( reccomended by microsoft ) and you can sync to it.

Nokia E50 contacts list synchronisation problem
Hello.
I have a problem. My contacts list in my cell phone keep two or more one type records per contact (for example when man have two mobile phones and ones stored in contacts list with same label 'mobile'). When I do synchronise my phone with PC so only 1st record stores per each contact with two or more identical labels. When I try to see contacts list by Nokia Phone Browser I see each contacts with first 'mobile' label too. Second, third, etc not shown. How I can to do full synchronise in this case?Hi,
what is your PC Suite version? Have updated your PC Suite?

I experience sync problem whenever i sync my phone contacts to my pc, sometimes it updates the changes and sometimes it does'nt.
I have the latest Nokia PC suite installed on Vista home premium SP1.
Any Help?Hi, I want to use my E51 to synchronise one laptop and one PC, while the E51 acts as a go-between. I could do that without problem with a Toshiba Pocket PC and Microsoft Active Synch 4.5. With my E51, the synchronisation adds whatever is on the phone to whatever is on the PC or the laptop, without deleting entries that have been deleted or changed on the PC or the laptop. How can this be solved ?

Synchronisation problems after crash
Hi
people at our office look at their palm as their master in synchronisation => as CoT or OraCal Synchronisation does not support all the features of the PalmOS (for example an event with more than 1 person is watched differently in PalmOS etc.).
All the informations of the calendar are saved at our server. Is there a possibility to have a backup of all calendar events (not on the server and not offline) locally?
The problem occurs when having an event with different people or ressources. PalmOS does not understand an event with more than one person or ressources.
After a crash, PalmOS synchronises with the Calendar. The events with more than one person or ressources have to be completed by hand.
hope this is not to confusing ;-)
thanks for any hint.
bettinaIf and when Apple sort this will they announce it or simply release another version/upgrade to iTunes 9.1? Do we have to check daily for new upgrades?

So I go to turn on my Zen Vision: M this afternoon. It was working fine all day. However, this time it did not turn on. Instead it displayed an icon on the screen. It shows the Zen with a caution sign beside it. This Icon still remains on the screen.
