Synchronisation with Thunderbird 6.0

Ovi Suite 3.1.1.85 does not synchronize the address book with Thiunderbird 6.0.
Error Code 83950003
With the former version Thunderbirg 3.X it worked.
Has anybody an idea?

That support is coming later this autumn.
It would help to make it running for Thunderbird 7 or 8, for 6 it is allready to late, 7 is now in beta and runs good, Morzilla is faster than Nokia, Nokia sleeps in everything
take this progam, it is not free, but you can save it, and it works with other phones too, take it vom Nokia and pic it to your new Phone

  • E70 Synchronising with Thunderbird calendars

Hi. On my PC I use Thunderbird, together with its Lightning calendar extension. I'd very much like to be able to sync this calendar with that in my E70. Does PC Suite does this, or is there another way to sync my phone with my PC calendar - either using Lightning or one of the other Thunderbird calendar extensions which are available?
    Many thanks.
    Mick.

apparently you are not the only one with that problem , some should have wakened up already in Nokia and see that thunderbird is taking outlook position.
there is not a real solution for synchronizing your thunderbird calendar with your nokia beside:
    1. Sync master (about 30euro license)
    2. sync by google tool your thunderbird to outlook and from outlook to your nokia (yes, yes , we are still in the 20th century...)
    http://googleblog.blogspot.com/2008/03/google-calendar-sync.html
    thunderbird >> outlook >> nokia
is there any one out there?
if so , please4 wake up ... just a little update to your pc suit!!!!

  • Synchronisation with file

    Hello,
I am a user of PC (windows and Ubuntu) but I don't use Outlook or Internet explorer.
I am using Firefox and Thuderbird. The reason is that the last 2 works on linux systems as well and even uses the same files (on both systems) to store bookmarks, mails etc. This make those programmes independent of the system I use.
My question is if apple will in the next time make synchronisation with Firefox and Thunderbirds for the IPhone?
Since I believe the Answer will be No. My second questions is if Apple will in the next time make synchronisation not with a program but with a file? Typically a "," or tabulation separated file could in my opinion be a solution to make the IPhone accessible for more users. For me, if Apple specifies the headers of the file there need to make the synchronisation between the IPhone and a file this would be a great step.
For me its simple, if my only solutions to synchronise my calendar and my contacts is using outlook I won't buy an IPhone...

I can't believe that nobody from Microsoft has responded.
For the benefit of anybody else that has the same issue, I solved it by going to control panel, then sync settings , then manage offline files, then unchecking the global setting 'enable offline files' (or something like that), then rebooting.
In summary, it seems that the settings for individual folders are tied to the profile and these settings will be duplicated when logging in to any device with a live account. However, the global setting to enable disable the offline files feature is tied
to the machine. So, even though it will be enabled when installing a new version of windows and signing in with the same live account, you can disable it on one machine and still have it enabled on another.

i have already try the copy/paste thing with the ID of the file "iTunes Music Library.xml" it didn't change a thing. each time I relaunched Itunes, the ID is the first I have in the MAC.
I have more than 5 000 files of music. I don't want to recreate one by one all my playlits.
    Many thnaks for your answers.

You can sync iphone with one and only one computer at a time.  If you sync to another, it will erase the current content and replace with content form the new computer.  There is no way around this.
Put everything on one computer and sync from there.
BTW, you posted in the Home Share forum.  Your question seems to have nothing to do with home share.

  • How can I find out which .pst or .ost file itunes referres to when synchronising with outlook

I´ve switched to iphone 4S from my 3Gs and would like to "clean" my itunes Sync before I use the new phone. Problem is, that the synchronisation with Outlook 2003 doesn´t work anymore. I guess the reason is that itunes refers to an old .ost or .pst file on my computer. I ve got several outlook profiles and changed from exchange to pop3. My question: How can I find out which .pst or .ost file itunes referres to?
Thanks a lot in advance :-)

Select the tune and then - Get Info - in the dialog box is a note of the Apple ID used to purchase.

  • Can I sync my 6300 calendar with Thunderbird/Light...

Sorry if this is a stupid question.  I've just bought a bluetooth dongle for my PC and only yesterday connected my 6300 to computer and updated software etc for the first time.
I'd love to be able to sync the calendar with Thunderbird/Lightning automatically as it connects.  Is this possible?
And if so, is the sync two ways or just one way.  I have heaps of entries in the calendars on my work computer.  I'd love to be able to sync my phone while at work, then when I go home update my home computer's calendar from the phone's.  If that makes sense.

A new problem is that Windows 7 does not use Windows Calendar so the simple solution from above that works for Vista doesn't work in Windows 7.
These are the steps I took. It’s likely that not all steps are required. Sorry about the messed up formatting.....
    1.       Get Windows Calendar working on Windows 7.
This is very straightforward. Follow the link below. Run it once to generate the .ics file
    (http://www.addictivetips.com/windows-tips/install-windows-calendar-in-windows-7/)
    2.       Tell Lightning to use Windows Calendar’s .ics file
In Thunderbird, go to calendar view, right click on calendar listed on the left hand side and select properties….change its default file to point to your Windows Calendar File (C:\Users\name\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Calendar\Calendars\Your Calendar.ics)
    3.       Uninstall software that may complicate things
If they are installed, uninstall Nokia PC Suite, Nokia Ovi Suite and Microsoft Outlook.
Make the following registry changes (messing with the registry can wreck your operating system. Don’t do it unless you know what you’re doing. I take no responsibility etc etc etc)
Thanks to “Classic” on this german forum (and Google Translate) for this bit
    http://www.winfuture-forum.de/index.php?showtopic=174635
Open regedit.exe, navigate to Hkey Local Machine -> Software and add a new key called Windows Calendar. In that key add the following string values:
    http://www.winfuture-forum.de/index.php?s=c1afe7229fa2613d26a1b82c604c879a&act=attach&type=post&id=3...
    Reboot
Install PC Suite (compatibility mode may help, I tried it a few different ways but in the end I don’t think it matters)
    6.       Tell PCSuite that its running on Vista
    Go back into the registry
    Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Nokia.PCSync.Windows7PIM.ISynchAppU
Create an exact replica of this key (including its contents) but call it HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Nokia.PCSync.VISTAPIM.ISynchAppU
(It’s likely that you could just rename Windows7PIM to VISTAPIM but I created the replica key)
You should be good to go

  • In Dual Monitor setup, with Thunderbird not in main monitor, the some dialogs always shows in other monitor

I have a three monitor set up. I have Thunderbird running in the right monitor. My main monitor is the middle one. Dialogs, such as Spell check, Activity Monitor always show up in the main window (not the one with Thunderbird) in the upper left hand corner.
It happens on Windows Vista and Windows 7 Professional.
    I have Thunderbird version 24.3.0

Some dialogs when moved, stay moved. Others do not. The ones that frustrate me are those that are Centered and therefore show up split across my two monitors.

i just updated my iPod touch 4G to IOS 5.0.1. after that my ipod cannot synchronise with itunes. during connecting to itunes my ipod seem to be synchronised with itunes but the song or application that i just downloaded did not appear in my ipod.

    - First try a rset. Nothing will be lost.

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Next try restoring from backup

  • How can I save the settings of my iPhone 4 before resetting the phone in addition to saving the apps etc. by synchronisation with i-tunes

How can I save the settings of my iPhone 4 before resetting the phone in addition to saving the apps etc. by synchronisation with i-tunes

All the phone settings are save in the backup which is automatically created when you sync the phone.

Please clarify what you mean by "resetting" the phone. When you reset the phone, no data is deleted.  Do you actually mean Restore the phone?  See the User Guide, Appendix B for the correct terminology,

  • ICal no longer synchronising with MobileMe

My wife has an iMac and a MacBook both synchronising with (and via) MobileMe. Both Intel machines are running Snow Leopard.
All were synchronising perfectly, including iCal, until as requested by MobileMe, I upgraded to the New Calendar.
Now only the Imac synchronises correctly. TheMacBook returns a pop-up stating that the iCal has "either wrong ID login OR wrong Password" !
(Le serveur n’a pas reconnu votre nom d’utilisateur ou votre mot de passe pour le compte « [email protected] ». Assurez-vous de les avoir correctement saisis.)
I have stopped the synchronisation and cancelled the iDisk synchronising.
Then connected again at the level of MacBook and logged again to the account. And synchronised again. It states first login for the calander.
The MacBook synchronises but the calendar returns the error.
My wife's account is sub (family) account of my main MobileMe account.
Help me please as I really don't understand nor do I know what to do !
    Regards,
    Kevin in France

Thanks for the effort and response. I was able to contact Apple Help and I downgraded back to the old mobileme iCal. The new mobileme iCal is very inflexible. The Month header takes a huge font. Fonts on appointments can't be changed and, as a result, appointments can be seen in their entirety. There are other very irritating things about the new iCal and my conclusion is that it's just a very weak attempt at Outlook and has a long way to go before it's usable. I just hope Apple doesn't cut us off the "old" calendar which works very well (and has for some time now)

  • Are there solutions to Compatibility Issues with Thunderbird, Windows 8.1 and Anti-Virus Software, e.g., MacAfee?

Since I upgraded to Windows 8.1, Thunderbird freezes up and goes into "Not Responding" mode repeatedly every few minutes. My research indicates that it is a problem with compatibility with antivirus software, which obviously is needed with an e-mail program. How can this problem be solved, or is there an antivirus program that works seamlessly with Thunderbird and Windows 8.1?

Personally I use ESET NOD32. It is not cheap, but it is unobtrusive and appears to get the job done. Originally I was drawn there for their server protection, but since I no longer have windows servers that need is gone, but I see no reason to change.
    Previously over the years I have used;
    * Norton (Found it just to much embedded into the operating system. Something went wrong with it and Windows would not boot.
    * Microsoft Security Essentials. Any application using large data files was unworkably slow. That included Thunderbird.
    * AVG It was just clunky and I did not like it.
But the big issue these days is the products are not just anti virus, they are suites including firewalls, password managers/vaults and often spam and scam tools. It is usually these later tools that cause the most issues with the firewalls blocking anything but known versions of known software and spam tools that mess up because it has not had enough testing.
Basically your on your own in selecting a product5. I can not recommend one. But I seriously question the need for mail scanning. Especially after that remarkable admission by Symantec regarding Norton's not scanning mail.
Thunderbird does not run any scripts in mail, nor does it do anything with attachments before you open them and then it decodes them and places them in the temp folder where any good anti virus will scan them.
Personally I suggest anti virus rather than security suite software. Especially so if you use Chrome or Firefox browsers and they both use Google lists of known malware and phishing site to block inadvertent visits.
Windows has a firewall, your modem (over 90%) has one as well, those firewalls block ports, protocols and route traffic. Do you also need one that blocks programs?
Mozilla products have a password manager, do you need another? And so the list goes on.

  • How to restore data (contacts mainly) after synchronising with wrong options

Hi I hope someone can help me?
It seems I must have changed the settings of synchronisation with PC Suite, because it suddenly deleted quite a bunch of contacts from my phone!
Before (unfortunately long ago) I know I synchronised by combining both the PC content and the Phone content.
Is there a detailed report to get anywhere in the depths of either phone or PC showing not only names, but also the numbers of the contacts deleted?
I am totally frustrated and could like to eat my phone .....
PLEASE anyone - is there any help?
Thanks a lot for your support!
    Kind regards
    derklenepunker

If you search on the web, there are software programmes which claim to recover deleted data from the phone memory. The extent of success of this recovery will depend on the amount of data saved on your phone after deletion, which gradually ovewrite deleted data and become permanently deleted. You can always contact SE for more information and advice. I don't know about recovering deleted data from PC suite.

  • How do I access compacted mail on a Mac version 10.5.8 stuck with Thunderbird version 16.0.2 ? I am unable to access needed documentation for Taxes, etc

How do I access compacted mail on a Mac version 10.5.8 stuck with Thunderbird version 16.0.2 ? I am unable to access needed documentation for Taxes, etc

Where in the world did you read Deleting All My Mail? I have reread my answer several times and cannot seem to find that in there.
When you mark a message for deletion it does just that. It marks it for deletion and hides the message. It is not truly deleted until you compact.
My point is that unless you deleted your important mail they should still be there somewhere.
Your question was about compacting and thinking it put your messages in a nice little box for safe keeping and now you want to open it.
I have to agree that Thunderbird did a horrible job of naming this process because most are like you and do not understand what it actually does. I included the link to the explanation of what compacting means in the Thunderbird world.
Your messages may still be available to your but finding them has nothing to do with compacting.
Thunderbird does not archive anything unless you use that process by selecting the message and pressing a. You have the option to setup where you want that archive to go and what folders to make.
The All Mail folder is a goofy gmail arrangement. If you have problems with that then you need to address that with Google.
If you go into your gmail account on the gmail site do you see the messages you are hunting in the All Mail folder there?

  • Is it possible to open an html with Thunderbird ?

First of all this is not a major problem. I have a way around it.
When I try to open a file with Thunderbird (html or any type) it is just attached to a message.
I use Thunderbird to create web-pages. See examples on [http://edwardnc.org ncw.EdwardNC.org] Public service site. All pages except default.aspx were created this way. I create the page and save it as both a file, and as a draft (or template) to re-edit. I then upload or copy/paste the file to my site.
Perhaps a new Mozilla Application called ThunderFile a mixture of Thunderbird and Filezilla. with an option to Save/open remote/local file.

I use libre office writer for my very basic HTML needs, but the internet is full of WYSIWYG HTML editors, but your question sent me searching for what happened to the Mozilla composer. Looks like it made it into the world as bluegriffon. http://bluegriffon.org/

  • N95 8GB synchronisation with Outlook 2007

Cannot get N95 to synchronise with Outlook 2007 Calendar. Do I need new software download? Is it available?

no u donot require any additional software. This can be done using PC Suite with no additional software.
Go to PC Suite, start Synchronize. In Synchronize (Nokia PC Sync), goto Settings. In Settings, under the General tab, click on Advanced. Under "Automatic Synchronization", select either synchronize everytime I connect my mobile or Sychronize periodically and select 15min/30min/hourly. Check the checkbox "Launch Nokia PC Sync automatically on Startup"
Click OK and voila...auto syncing of calendar and contacts with Outlook.
