Synchronising a Nokia 6230i with iSync

Hi! Just tried desperately to synchronise my Nokia 6230i with my Mac. Unfortunately, Nokias PC-Suite is only for PC`s and ISync seems not to operate my phone. Who knows help?

This is a Nokia Series 40 mobile phone. The series indicates the operating system on a Nokia. A Nokia Series 60, 80 or 90 is based on Symbian OS. Nokia Series 30 and 40 are based on Nokia's own operating system.
Apple iSync 1.5 and 2.1.1 supports Symbian OS based mobile phones but no Nokia Series 40 phones. Search for the various topics about the Nokia 6230 and have a look at MacMedia PhoneDirector.

  • PC Suite fails to sync my Nokia 6230i with Outlook

    Hi,
Does anyone have suggestions as to how I can make my Nokia 6230i sync with Outlook?
I am using PC Suite which connects to my phone perfectly (using bluetooth). All functionality seems to work, except for the Sync function! The 'error' is that it reports 'synchronisation completed' but 0 entries have been updated.
I have followed most of the solution directions on the web, but have not succeeded in making it work.
    My config:
    PC Suite 7.1.51.0
    PC Connectivity Solution:  Version 10.24.0.0
Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver: Version 7.1.29.0
    Operating system:
Microsoft Windows Vista 32-bit Edition, Service Pack 1
    Language: English
    Language for non-Unicode programs: English
    Detected Internet browsers:
    - Microsoft Internet Explorer 8.0
    Detected Bluetooth stacks:
    - Microsoft (Version: 6.0.6000, Build: 16386)
Thanks very much for any suggestions!

    Hi Marina,
    Connect the phone via USB
    Open Nokia Suite
Click the blue and white lifebuoy icon furthest to the right
Click Installed Programs and wait for the list to load
Click the Start page icon furthest to the left
    Click Synchronize all
    * Sync is slower than usual and fails with errors 80100023 and 80043c93
    Workaround:
    Close Nokia Suite
Disconnect the phone from the computer
    Connect the phone via USB
    Open Nokia Suite
    Click Synchronize all
    Now works as usual
    Windows 7 64-bit / Nokia N8-00 Belle Danish / Nokia Suite 3.3.89
The small Qt stability update for Belle is installed on the N8.
    Best regards,
    Hans

  • Can you synchronise a Nokia E61 with Oracle Calend...

    Hi there.
I work in IT and I have just got the Nokia E61 to test out as an alternative to the MDA's that we currently have. Basically we are looking to phase these out as they have proved to be very unreliable but they have been relatively easy to setup via ActiveSync.
Now that I have just received a Nokia E61 to test I was wondering; is there a way I can get Oracle Calendar to synchronise over the wire as opposed to over the air,
just like i could on the MDA's after installing Oracle Calendar Sync for Pocket PC.
The reason why I ask is as a company we would like to do over the wire is so that pc users can synchronise their organisers via usb without costing the company any money via GPRS connections.
Is their a possibility that this could be done or will I have to go down the SyncML route?
In advance many thanks for your help!

This cannot be achieved with the Synthesis SyncML client. The latest Oracle Calendar Application System server patch (10.1.2.3.1) only mentions Nokia N90 and 6682.
So Oracle does not support Nokia E61 yet. I suggest that you raise an enhancement request SR on Metalink.
    Best regards,
    Fred

  • Connecting and synchronising my Nokia 6822 with my...

I want to synchronise my Outlook Contacts and Calendar information from my PC with the Nokia 6822 phone, which I was assured I could do when deciding on which phone to get. I have installed Nokia PC Suite but cannot get the phone and Dell laptop PC to recognise each other using Bluetooth. Do I need to buy something else? I have looked up and found the CA 42 data cable is recommended, but do not want to spend £30 on this unless it will make the job in hand easy and foolproof, in which case I am happy to do so. I have checked your user forums, etc, and quickly gathered that there ARE issues with Connectivity, but found nothing there to help me. I cannot afford to spend further hours on trying to research this, and hope you can help! I just need simple instructions on what I need to do to get the phone and PC paired easily and establish synchronisation, plus advice on any limitations re memory, including (if necessary) tips on how many contacts, calendar dates, etc can be imported to the phone.I am running Microsoft Windows XP Pro Build 2600, Service Pack 2 and Outlook 2003 on the laptop. Other info found in the PC Suite Help>About>System info: Nokia PC Suite version is 6.81.13.0, Connectivity Cable Drivers Version 6.81.1.2, MS Outlook Version 11.0, Build 8010, Bluetooth Stacks MS Bluetooth stack Version 5.1.2600.2180, WIDCOMM Bluetooth stack Version 1.4.1 Build 5.

Thanks for trying to help, but no luck. I've tried repeatedly to use the Get Connected wizard (including before I posted my first message), but both devices (ie phone and PC) have NEVER recognised that the other is even there.
The message on the PC Suite screen that comes up is "Cannot use the Connection type. Check that all the needed hardware, software and drivers are available."
On the phone itself, (under Settings>Connectivity>Bluetooth>Search for Audio Enhancements) the message is "No devices found."
Re the Microsoft and Widcomm Bluetooth, the Widcomm bluetooth is built into my high-spec Dell laptop, which is just a couple of years old - I have not added anything and there is no gizmo. Should there be one? I have found the Widcomm Bluetooth under Control Panel>Device Manager and it is currently disabled. I cannot find the Microsoft Bluetooth - the only place it seems to be mentioned is under PC Suite Help>About>System info. Does it even exist?
I'm happy to buy the CA-42 cable instead of fiddling around trying to start off Bluetooth, if the cable is likely to be more (a) simple to use and (b) reliable. What do you think?
PS: By the way, I could not even send an email to Nokia Customer Services from their email form - it ends up saying the page is not there, after accepting all the input, etc. Is this a common experience? I tried twice.

  • Nokia 6230i with Logitech Mobile Freedom

I've bought a Logitech headset with Bluetooth 1.2, and I simply cannot get my 6230i to pair with the headset.
I've tried several search/start combinations without luck.
Is there a Bluetooth upgrade that I need to have or what?
    Kind regards

is the headset compatible with the phone?

  • Nokia 6230i with ford bluetooth

I need a socalled "carcontacts.sis" file to install on my 6230i model, in order to transfer my contacts to the Ford bluetooth radio and view the contacts on the convers display.
Can anybody send me that file.

    hi,
PBAP is Phone Book Application Profile, it is a bluetooth profile that is part of the firware in your bluetooth that simply dictates how your phone's bt should work...
you do not need to install or find it cause it is already there, just normally try to pair your phone to the BT handsfree kit of your car, and see the car's manual on how to activate the transfer of the "Phone Book" content, usually during the 1st pairing it will ask for the transfer...

  • Download failure to Nokia 6230i

    I have a Nokia 6230i, with firmware V03.70.
I cannot download wallpapers, video clips & some ringtones. I have tried different sources for the content, ie vodafone live, monstermob, but I receive the same error message - 'Downloading failed'.
I've been sent a new sim - no difference. I have been sent 3 new Nokia 6230i's from Vodafone - no difference. I tried my sim in a Nokia 6230i with firmware V03.3 and it downloads fine.
This is quite a major issue now, can you help?
    Many thanks,
    Rick

First about PC Suite 6.7 functionality:
With PC Suite 6.7 it is still possible to both make a backup from phone and restore the backupfile back to same phone model AS WELL AS transfer data between different phone models. With new version of PC Suite these both functions have been combined to one operation: so first PC Suite makes a backup-file and then reads another "transfer-file" incase the restore is done later to different phone model.
The "transfer-file" is more limited in content due to the fact that phones are different.
    Then to the original problem:
If you still have the old phone available, you should use PC Suite 6.7 backup function with 6230 and then you can transfer to 6230i.
If you made a backup only with older PC Suite, then it is not possible to move the backup to 6230i.

  • Nokia 5800 and iSync

    Hi,
I would like to know when it is released plug-in to recognize the Nokia 5800 with iSync
    Thanks !
    Daniele

There is no schedule. Apple hasn't added any new model support to iSync for over a year. They're leaving new phone support up to third-party iSync plugins.
Try contacting one of the third-party iSync Plugin developers on the page below, to see if and when support for your phone will be available:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2520
Or type "nokia 5800 isync" into Google for some existing options.

  • Using a 6230i with Windows ME

I'm getting a new Nokia 6230i phone for my Christmas but unfortunately I can't get hold of it until Christmas day and I want to be ready to transfer MP3's etc to my phone when I get it. As I'm running Windows ME what is the best way to transfer data of what are the options open to me. Can you advise what kind of Data Cable I would need and would a Bluetooth adapter be able work with Windows ME and if so what Version of PC Suite would I require.
Only reason is that a friend of mine said that the Nokia 6230i and Windows ME where not compatible.
    Thanks.

Im using Windows ME (only because laptop is short of RAM) .. installed Quicktime and a file called GDSruntime.exe (both free off web).
My new Nokia 6230i with DKU-2 data cable allows me to see the media card within the phone as an additional USB drive. Using Windows explorer within the ME environment allows me to see photos etc. I can also cut & paste between the computer & phone media card. Hope this helps!

  • Need help with Nokia 6230i

    Hi Everyone!
I've bought Nokia 6230i phone with 512 Mb MMC card but it is impossible to load there any program - only music and videos. Is there any firmware (maybe not official) for this phone which can allow to load java programs on MMC card? Thanks before.

    Thanks for your replyings
I know about this (that Pc suit allows to load prgs in phone memory). But does MMC card allow to do the same? As for me according to filesystem that is used there, it is possible. 1 Mb space, which allocated me to load programs is too small. Maybe you know how to use that 512 Mb which is on my MMC card?
And one more thing. Does anybody know how to load programs with PC Suite not only in Collection directory, but into Games?
    Thanks alot, who answered.

  • Why won't my Nokia N95 Sync with isync?

I am having fun and games getting my N95 to sync with my mac using the usb cable that comes with the phone.
i have downloaded the official nokia plugin from the nokia website but isync cant see the device. i also downloaded another plugin from somewhere else but this didnt work either?
i dont have bluetooth on my mac as its an old G4 quicksilver.
how do i get all my contacts from mac address book onto my phone?
    please help!
    many thanks!

i seem to have solved the problem, well a mr paul reames helped me. it seems to be that it just wont work with just using the usb cable.
all i did to get around this was go and buy a bluetooth dongle and now it works perfectly! all very annoying though that the cable doesnt work!
just one note though about buying a dongle. most shops say that they dont know if the dongles will work on a mac or not. this is just because on most of the packaging it never mentions whether or not its mac compatible. well i can tell you that i bought an orange dongle and it works perfectly. yiou dont even need to install anything, just plug and go.
oh and yeah i was using 10.4.9 and 2.4 of isync!
just out of interest did anyone ever get it to work with the cable?

  • Trouble with Nokia 6680 and iSync

I have a Nokia 6680 and an iMac. Recently I wanted to clean up my contact list but I'm having problems in this.
Contacts created in the phone get transfered to my computer with iSync easy, but I can't transfer all my contacts created in my iMac to the Nokia 6680.
It used to work sincronizing a hundred contacts, but now I can't do it with 40 or 50. It's supposed to work all the ways but it doesn't.
What should I do? Is there any kind of limitation with my phone or iSync?

    Hi trav!
We're having the exact same problem. If you search this forum (and others), you'll find more threads regarding this issue..

It seems to be impossible to get in touch with Nokia developers. They are probably on vacation..
We've struggled with this for about 2 weeks now,and the most likely reason is:
    1. It's a bug
    2. The locator url has changed since the phone has two cameras.
    Cheers,

    Hello Kerrigaj,
After a re-install of OS X 10.5.8 uninstalled the E71 in iSync and moved it out of the bluetooth-device list first and completely re-installed it using the bluetooth manager (SystemPreferences/Hardware).
No extra thirdparty-software involved and ever since no problems.
Goodluck - hope it works for you.
