Synchronising special pricing

Hi all,
I'm fairly new to Webtools customisation and I'd like some advice on how I can synchronise special pricing between SBO and Webtools. As I understand the situation at the moment, Webtools is capable of storing special pricing but it doesn't synchronise with SBO. This is an issue for me where I have a client that is very dependant on special pricing which is maintained in SBO.
I looked at writing a plugin to do this synchronisation. However, I ran in to a problem because, as far as I can see, the triggering of a plugin is linked to a particular business object queue (eg BP). When I update a special price for a BP in SBO it does not actually update the BP master data so Webtools will not resync the BP and the plugin is never triggered.
The only way I could think of to sync special pricing was to do a direct insert in to the Webtools pricing tables. I could run that off SQL Agent but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to directly edit Webtools data. Would this invalidate my client's Webtools support from SAP (like it would if I updated any SBO system tables directly) or is it an allowed customisation?

Hello,
The problem is that some special pricing is not available via the DI-API in business one. We DO handle special pricing on a business partner level. So if you set a special price for a business partner that will function as normal.
Now if you are looking at doing quantity breaks, hierarchies or expansions, this thread should get you started:

I would like to upgrade to Creative Cloud and see that they have special pricing for existing customers that use past versions of Creative Suite. I am no longer in Education, so I will have to buy a full version. This is fine, but it won't accept my serial number for the discounted pricing. Is there something else I should be doing?

Special Pricing Query

Hi,
I need some assistance with a Price List query.
I have special volume discounts setup for items within the main price lists. I have done it this way rather than doing special pricing against business partners.
I need a query where you select a product group and a price list and only selects items with item property 34 set as 'Y'. The report needs to produce the item code, base price, volume, discounted price (based on the volume). This would basically give the result of what a "single item" would cost and then a "box price" for the same item. It would look something like:
ITEM CODE     LIST PRICE     VOLUME     BOX/VOLUME PRICE     ITEM REMARKS
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for the query. It doesn’t however give the results I need. It seems to list a number of transactions rather than the pricing from the price list.
Ideally am looking for the following results:
ITEM CODE         LIST PRICE (From Price List)          DISCOUNT VOLUME QTY (From special Pricing with Price List)     DISCOUNT VOLUME PRICE ITEM REMARKS
Based on the WHEN/FILTER:
Price List = ‘%’
QueryGrp34 = 'Y'

start from SQ02 - build your info-set (func.area)
use "table join" for VBAK...
then run SQ03
then SQ01

Special pricing discounts and print outs

Hi all, this is a two part question:
1) Can the following scenarios be achieved in Business One? I am confused about some of the special pricing functionality.
i) Can you discount based on the value of an order? ie, if I buy $10,000 will I get a 2% discount off my invoice?
ii) Can we give away free goods with orders. ie, if you buy one item, then another is free?
2) Does any of the discount information show on the invoice print out labelled clearly? Say for the $10,000 example, will it show the 2% discount in the discount line of the invoice?

Yes. It is doable through a customized PLD although it may not be showed though default system PLD.

BP Special Pricing

Hello Experts,
We have a requirement whereby we need to have special pricing for business partner. I know how to set this up in special prices for business partners but there is a further requirement that is as follows:
Item is available as an outright purchase and also as what we deem repair exchange. The way we handle this is to have the same item in two (2) different warehouses, reason being we purchase from our supplier at two different prices. Which leads me to, we sell the item to our customers at two different prices, one at outright lets say 500.00 and the repair exchange 250.00. The client if purchasing repair exchange sends us back a defective item once the replacement is installed, thats why it is at a cheaper price.
So is it possible to have two special prices for same item based on what warehouse the item is in?

Thanks for the feedback.....
I think using different price lists will get a bit messy as there are different prices for different BP's, I would end up with too many price lists and sales may select the incorrect one.
Just thinking out loud what if I set up a BP for outrights and the same BP for repair exchange with the second consolidating to the first. I could then have special prices set up based on those BP's. i.e.. same item two (2) different prices....
The only limitation is that we couldn't combine outright and repair exchange items on the one BP, I guess thats not too bad a scenario though.
Anyway would appreciate any further feedback before I make the final decision just in case there may be some other ways.

Tracking Special Pricing Usage

What's the best way to track special pricing in SAP when our quotations do not have set quantity usage and don't always have a net price and instead might have a discount.
Is it possible to add a field to orders and enter our quotation numbers in it to track which quotes were used against which orders. If I can pull this column in the Va05 report, then I can see what quote was used against what part and for what quantities.

I'll just start by saying that I'd like to see more posts like yours. Hope this will turn out a great discussion.
OTN is missing a licensing-related forum currently (as far as I know). Even though it is a matter that really could use some community 'crunching'.
We are tracking use and license metrics with help of a simple spreadsheet. For us it seems less complicated just because it is cpu/core/sockets based. I guess it depends on the environments and standards. (Keeping up with change in agreements and other such matters, on the other hand, seems harder.)
For the big picture, the different license models and compliance tools is becoming a bigger issue to manage. (a full time job role)
As a related matter.. with virtualisation it has become harder to manage the costs involved, if you want to charge (internal) customers per exact usage, and the distribution of costs for new investments (when crossing capacity borders).
About that tool... I'd also be interested in hearing from the community...!

Special Pricing will not sync!

We are trying to setup webtools pl1, and when we do the initial sync we get the following error - u201CThere are less special price records in WT than in B1. This can be due to an error in synch and can cause pricing inconsistencies.u201D
I've queried the tables while the sync is in progress, and all of the bp special pricing is inserted into the tables, but then after this error, everything is deleted.
The sap database is an upgraded sap 2005 database that had netpoint 5.9 attached to it.
I've seen mentioned on the forums that pricelists of *1 and *2 cause problems. I do have these pricelists. Is there any truth to this?
I've also heard that this is a know bug in webtools. Is that true?
Basically, how do I get my special pricing to sync?

I have exacly the same error as you
delete all from PartsPricingMaster and PartsPricing table and sync again. Please backup your db before deleting. please. I believe i have to do this twice.
If you have upgraded from 5.9 (i have done the same for two customers) i hope you haven run initialize sync because as far i'm aware you need to do just normal sync.

Special Pricing

Well, our old friend SpecialPricing is back. If I recall correctly, the SpecialPrices object requires full permission to be used. I coulg go to the Recordset object to check whether an Item has special pricing. However, I am unsure of what the SpecialPrices object is doing behind the scenes to check for special pricing. Is it just going to the OSPP table for Item verification? Or does it also check SPP2 for a quantity discount?
Using the recordset object to check the SQL tables would work here since I am not retrieving any values. Can anyone help with what tables I need to check?

I see three tables tables OSPP,SPP1,SPP2. It appears that attempts to "duplicate" the oSpecialPrices object using the Recordset object would be too daunting of a task.
I would think there has to be a way to just check if a SpcialPrice is present with only READ authorization instead of FULL.
To all, is this gonna be a resounding no for this topic? We would like to not give the User FULL
authority since they would then be "allowed" to change the prices.

Auto-Populating Product Value in Special Pricing Product

Hi Experts,
We need to give default value for product(required field) in Special Pricing Product.
And it is not possible to give default value for Product (think because it is a System Defined Mandatory filed)
So i tried to populate the value using Weblink. But didnt get that working.

Buying Error through Adobe's Site for Special Pricing

after I login and it tells me I am qualified for the special pricing and then click the Buy button, I am taken to a crazy ColdFusion Error page. This does not fill me with confidence about your Cloud offering, Adobe, if you can't even get your own website to function correctly. I get the error page in ALL browsers on Mac OS X.
