Synchronization doesn't start (no errors on client or MI)
Hello,
I created a custom syncbo download sequence and remove the MAM30_030, MAM30_031 and MAM30_070. My own sequence shows as following:
1. MAM30_095
2. MAM30_090
3. MAM30_080
4. MAM30_041
5. MAM30_040
6. MAM30_017
7. MAM30_016
8. MAM30_010
9. MAM30_006
10. MAM30_001
if I deploy the application and want to get the data (synchronize), I get only for MIAUTH SyncBo a Mobile ID. No mobile ID for die data - BOs is created and I get no error, no dump, nothing. Could someone tell me, what I'm doing wrong?!
Thanks
Andreas Dommes
Hi Prashanth,
I created a complete new client and a client reset isn't necessary. Strange was, that nothing is happen, because I was expecting at least the starting of syncronization of MAM30_095, MAM30_090. But know my problems solved, because I found the error in the standard synchronization. I had a corrupted and to big replication database, wherefore the synchronization doesn't work. Know all working fine.
Thanks a lot for your help and valueable information.
Greetings
Andreas

RRAS doesn't start. Error 8007042a. EventID 20103
Hi all.
When I install and enable the Routing and Remote Access service on a Windows 2008 R2 (with Remote Access and NAT), the service does not start (EventID 20103 - Unable to load C:\Winnt\System32\Iprtrmgr.dll).
In HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\RemoteAccess\RouterManagers\<protocol>\DllPath:
Value data: %SystemRoot%\System32\Iprtrmgr.dll
Iprtrmgr.dll is located in the C:\Windows\System32\
When I install RRAS without Remote Access, the service is start without errors.
Can anybody help me to solve this problem?
P.S. sorry for my bad english.A complete solution to the RRAS won’t start with 8007042a or event ID 7024, aka the “routing remote access unable to load Iprtrmgr.dll” problem.
History: The history of this error, which has mostly gone unsolved, dates back to Windows 2000.
Platforms affected: Windows Server 2008 R2, Server 2008, Server 2003 R2, Server 2003, Server 2000 (both 32-bit and 64-bit installs are affected).

Event ID: 7024 The Routing and Remote Access service terminated with service-specific error 193 (0xC1).
Event ID: 20103 Unable to load C:\WINDOWS\System32\iprtrmgr.dll . (32-bit installs).
Event ID: 20103 Unable to load C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\iprtrmgr.dll . (64-bit installs).
Cause: There are two basic causes for this error.
An incorrect key in the registry if you are running IPv6.
TCP/IPv4 corruption.
Related causes:
This has happened to me on a couple of Dell Windows 2003 R2 64-bit servers that had Broadcom NetXtreme II adapters. My problem was the second cause above, TCP/IP corruption, which I believe that happens for some reason when you install the driver for the
Broadcom adapter. It certainly may happen with other adapters, but there were definitely a high number of unsolved cases on the Internet with various Broadcom adapters.
Additional factors:
This happened even on clean installs as I tested using both the Dell-specific Windows Server 2003 R2 media, and Microsoft media downloaded from the Volume License site. It happens with either media.
Troubleshooting that did not work for me, or most people on the Internet:
Reinstalling clean.
Running sfc /scannow (I got no errors).
Comparing, and replacing, the iprtrmgr.dll’s from a working server.
Reinstalling the NIC’s after deleting them from Device Manager.
Running “NETSH INT IP RESET C:\reset.log” or “NETSH RESET WINSOCK”.
Running “NETSH WINSOCK RESET”.
Checking for ghost adapters after setting devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 and then showing hidden devices in Device Manager (I had none).
Reregistering Oledb32.dll and Oledb32r.dll , and renaming C:\Windows\System32\ias \dnary.mdb, and ias.mdb files and restarting RRAS. Those files are located in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 directory on 64-bit systems. This was in KB840696
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/840686.
Solutions:
If you have Server 2008, and are running TCP/IPv6, your problem is probably not TCP/IPv4 corruption, but rather that you have this extra key, HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\currentcontrolset\services\remoteaccess\routermanagers\IPV6, which you will remove after
you back it up by exporting it. Removing this key was an easy solution that widely helped many people on the Internet.
If you still want to use the TCP/IPv6 protocol you may have to do more. Since I did not apply to my server, and I could not test it, you may still have IPv6 corruption, and may want to troubleshoot by removing and reinstalling the TCP/IPv6,
akin to the solution below. The above solution may just be masking potential corruption by avoiding the issue.
If you are not running IPv6, the chances are that you have TCP/IPv4 corruption, and the solution is to reinstall it. If you have never noticed, if you try to uninstall TCP/IP, it is grayed out. To get around that, I followed KB 325356:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325356 . That says it is for a domain controller, but works on member servers also. The steps are:
Just in case, disable RRAS in the RRAS mmc, as this will uninstall it.
Backup your registry.
Ignore steps 1-4, and step 21 if you are just on a member server.
1.Restart the domain controller.
2.When the BIOS information appears, press F8.
3.Select Directory Services Restore Mode, and then press ENTER.
4.Use the Directory Services Restore Mode password to log on.
5.Click Start, and then click Run.
6.In the Open box, type regedit, and then click OK.
7.Locate the following registry subkeys:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Winsock2
8.Right-click each key, and then click Delete.
9.Click Yes to confirm the deletion of each key.
10.Close Regedit.
11.Locate the Nettcpip.inf file in %winroot%\inf, and then open the file in Notepad.
12.Locate the [MS_TCPIP.PrimaryInstall] section.
13.Edit the Characteristics = 0xa0 entry and replace 0xa0 with 0x80.
14.Save the file, and then exit Notepad.
15.In Control Panel, double-click Network Connections, right-click Local Area Connection, and then select Properties.
16.On the General tab, click Install, select Protocol, and then click Add.
17.In the Select Network Protocols window, click Have Disk.
18.In the Copy manufacturer's files from: text box, type c:\windows\inf, and then click OK.
19.Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click OK. (Note: This step will return you to the Local Area Connection Properties screen, but now the Uninstall button is available).
20.Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), click Uninstall, and then click Yes.
21.Restart your computer, and then select Directory Services Restore Mode as mentioned in steps 2 - 4.
22.In Control Panel, double-click Network Connections, right-click Local Area Connection, and then select Properties.
23.On the General tab, click Install, select Protocol, and then click Add.
24.In the Select Network Protocols window, click Have Disk.
25.In the Copy Manufacturer's files from text box, type c:\windows\inf, and then click OK.
26.Select Internet Protocol (TCP/IP), and then click OK.
27.Restart your computer.
Configure and Enable Routing and Remote Access.
At this point, your RRAS should start.
Related problem and solution:
When I would enter a static IP address, although it would hold the static, the properties would reset back to “Obtain an IP address automatically”. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Network and delete the Config key. Reenter
your static settings, and they should hold, and rebuild that Config key.
I hope this solves this difficult problem for many of you.

All I found about this error is that it occurs if you start local Azure compute emulator with in-role caching and without administrative rights. But in emulator everything works fine and problem occurs only after I publish to staging environment. (if switch
to production, error remains).
I use cache for resolving routes like /username and /countryname etc. So available usernames and country names will be cached and updated on changes in database. I have static class with static DataCache object which is created on first request to cache. But
even home page doesn't start so error occurs before I try to create cache object.Hi Jambor, I don't have reference errors. I had them before but already fixed with copy local = true for few references.
I receive error only on azure host service. In local everything works great, app starts, cache works and I can see data in cache. Yes, in local mode cloud project is set as startup and VS runs as administrator.
I've added TraceListener creating code you suggested:
protected void Application_Start(object sender, EventArgs e)
System.Diagnostics.Trace.Listeners.Add(new Microsoft.WindowsAzure.Diagnostics.DiagnosticMonitorTraceListener());
and error code changed a little. But as I see problem is the same but caused when creating TraceListener from Application_Start instead of when initalizing cache:

FIM Synchronization Service doesn't start
Hi,
Recently we have migreated FIM database from the local SQL server to an SQL 2012 Cluster. I used the following guide to configure DB related settings. Things worked fine.
http://social.technet.microsoft.com/wiki/contents/articles/5465.fimilm-how-to-move-the-backend-sql-server-synchronization-service-database.aspx
However after I uninstalled local SQL and rebooted the server FIM service doesn't start. The error message is:
The Forefront Identity Manager Sychronization Service depends the following service: MSSQLSERVER. This service might not be installed. (Event ID 7003).
How to fix this problem?
Thank you for your help.I assume that you have uninstalled MS SQL Server, right? If so, please try the following:
Remove MSSQLServer from the DependOnService Value Name, a REG_MULTI_SZ data type
at HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\<ServiceKey>
Run as admin - it would remove dependency from FIMSynchronizationService.
Keep trying If you found my post helpful, please give it a Helpful vote. If it answered your question, remember to mark it as an Answer. -
After Effects doesn't start due an unexpected Error.
I downloaded & installed After Effects through the Creative Cloud client in my macbook pro 15" (Retina), but the program doesn't start. There's always the same error message (sorry, it's German): "After Effects kann nicht fortgesetzt werden: Unerwarteter Fehler beim Starten der Anwendung", which means something like there's an unexpected error while starting. I deinstalled it, downloaded it again, always the same - its that a known problem and how can I solve this?

Update firefox, it asked me to update flash, I tried to update flash but it said I had to close firefox. A box came up and said the Flash install would continue when I closed firefox. I closed all firefox windows and no update of flash occurred. I tried relaunching firefox but got the "Doesn't start when starting as administrator. Error Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To open a new window, you must first close the existing Firefox process, or restart your system." message. I rebooted the system, no improvement. I tried to run firefox as administrator and got the same message. Either I find a fix or I won't be able to use firefox and will have to go back to ie.
-> press '''CTRL''' + '''SHIFT''' + '''ESC''' to Open Task Manager -> Processes tab -> right-click '''firefox.exe''' and click '''End Process Tree''' -> close Task Manager

Now I recover one more time and try to restart database without log recovery.
Can I do it via database manager (put "Online")? Or via your command "dbmcli -d <dbsid> -u control,<pw> util_execute clear log"? And how I can perform recover of logs without error?

I just updated my itune on my PC and now it doesn't start. There was no error in installing/upgrading the software but once I rebut the computer the icon appeared but it wouldn't start the program. Did I loose all my music and data? How can I fix the problem? Thanks
Try this from MacFixIt as well:
In the case of drive directory damage or problems with permissions, the solution is usually to use Apple's Disk Utility to repair the disk. Of course, you won't be able to perform this operation normally (simply launching the Disk Utility application, located in Applications/Utilities, and initiating a disk repair) if your system will not startup. So two options exist:
* Insert your Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) media (DVD or CD) and restart the computer while holding down the "C" key. Once the computer has booted from the installation disc, select "Utilities" from the menubar and open Disk Utility. Repair the disk, then quit Disk Utility and restart your system.
* Alternatively, you can repair the disk while booted in single user mode if you do not have access to a retail Mac OS X 10.4.x (Tiger) DVD/CD. To startup in single user mode, hold down the "Command" and "S" keys simultaneously at startup. Once properly booted, type the command fsck at the prompt. Repeat these process until no errors appear. -
Finder.app doesn't start error -10810
Hope someone can help:
Restarted the computer and the finder app doesn't start anymore showing error -10810 (The application Finder.app can't be opened)
The top menu bar doesn't show and no app can be started. Safari says: You can't use this version of the application Safari.app with this version of MAC OS X
ps. the cdrom doesn't work!I repaired permissions from the SL DVD a few times and nothing changed.
Finder starts then closes.
Any app I run ends up in a Problem Report dialog with the SIGTRAP exception type. -

I updated iTunes to 10.4 version and now it doesn't start and send a messages "iTunes has detected an error and must be closed". Someone have the same problem and how can we repair our installation insted of change the windows XP installation? Best regards
Only way to get iMac starting again was to re-install 10.4.4 from DVD, and then update it into 10.4.6. For a while it worked perfectly, just as before.
Then I tried to print to CD with my EPSON Stylus Photo 950 from Adobe Photoshop Elements (2.0). It didn't print anything, but printer started flashing all lights. The print job was not performed, so I did remove it from the Printer Utility. After that the iMac started "ticking" again, same noise than before, after 10.4.7 installation. I did re-boot iMac. It never started, it does stuck on gray screen (gray block running clockwise). HW test from DVD didn't find any problems (extended search looping 3 times). But Disk Utility found hard drive to have inaccurate node structure, it could not fix it.
Apple support recommended to use DiskWarrior. However, it does not support (yet) Intel Macs. I haven't got TechTool Pro 4.5.1 anywhere. iMac does start on to FireWire mode (T at boot), but I cannot see the disk from 10.2.8 iMac.
So, obvisously the problem is not 10.4.7. I believe it to be ESPON printer driver compatibility on Mac OSX. This does not suprise me, EPSON printers *****, I shall never purchase one again. However, disk catalog structure should not get messed by one faulty printer driver! -
When I start the iTunes program it comes up with this.. pls help!!
"The program can't start because AVFoundationCF.dll is missing from your computer. Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem."
Even after reinstalling iTunes doesn't start!Repair your Apple Application Support.
Control Panel > Programs n Features (Win7) or Add n Remove Programs(XP) > highlight AAS, click CHANGE then REPAIR.
