Synchronization Failure

On 2/15, I upgraded the Desktop Software to V7.0.0.43, then attempted to synchronize my Curve 8530. All appeared to be going well until the "preparing synchronization preview" phase, which went on for more than 30 minutes without competing. I stopped the process with Task Manager. Last evening I attempted to process again with the same result. This morning I did a backup and restore on my device, then attempted again with the same result. This was not occurring with the previous version of DS. What must I do to be able to sync my device. I sync with a WXP notebook and Outlook, on which the current versions of the software are installed. Frustrated!

  • Synchronization failure on XMLType column

    Hi!,
We're using Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.1.0.5.0 - 64bit Production on Solaris
After creating a table with one schema-based XMLType column, we created a context index on it with the ctxsys.path_section_group as its sole parameter. We populated the table continuously and at 30 minute intervals, though DBMS_JOB, synchronized the text index with CTX_DDL.SYNC_INDEX.
Indexing worked normally in the beginning up to about 11000 records in the base table. After which time, further synchronization failed repeatedly with trace files indicating an error with drsxsopen. Manually sync'ing the index from SQL scratchpad produced the same error. A typical trace file is shown at the bottom.
We also varied the memory parameter to SYNC_INDEX from 2 to 10 to 32 to 512 megabytes with the same results. Index optimization apparently works without error. Furthermore, the sum of pending records and indexed records are equal to the total number of records in the base table. No record has a NULL in the XMLType field.
The XMLType column is stored object-relationally although no schema validation is performed on insertion through triggers. We are running a validation procedure over the entire table but this will take at least a day to complete.
The question is: is this behaviour related to XML validation or are there other issues or bugs that come into play with respect to context index synchronization?
    Thanks

I have been attempting to get synchronization to work on the above configuration for several days now. I initially had installed Desktop Manager V4.6, then stepped back to loading the Verizon supplied V4.3. I then did a clean install per instructions on this board, including removal of the Registry keys for RIM and reloaded back to V4.6.
Sync works when a one-way push to the device, and when two-way in everything EXCEPT Calendar. As soon as I do a two-way sync of the Calendar, the system crashes (Unhandled Win32 Exception). I have Visual Studio running on the machine but the debugger is not providing any information (although I concede not waiting for a long time...I close after about 45-60 seconds).
The device is pretty useless for me without calendar sync so I am sort of frustrated at this point.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Hi...
This is usually indicating an issue in your calendar possibly on the BB Handheld.
    Backup your device.
Go to Backup / Advanced and clear your calendar
Configure your PIM to do a 1 way sync from Lotus to BB.
Remember to reset your 1 way sync to 2 way.
    Retry full intellisync.
If this does not work, you may have an issue with a calendar entry.
One item of interest, Lotus 6.5 can support wireless sync of calendar. Have you recently been setup on the Blackberry?
You may want to check with your BES admin and see if your setup for wireless = True. (assumption that your on BES)
Let us know how your doing...

    Can anybody help ?
I have installed one connector for AD , and one connector for DS and a subcomponent, the user are linked and resync with success.
    Thanks

    Hi,
ISW does not propagate the new password value itself when a password change is detected in Active Directory. The log message quoted does not show any error.
Note that passwords are not synchronized during resync. However, when resync'ing from Active Directory to Sun ONE Directory, you can invalidate the passwords of the Sun ONE Directory accounts using the -i flag. The invalidation will force on-demand password synchronization to start when a user with invalidated passwords attempts authentication to Sun ONE Directory.
I would also highly recommend following the instructions in the troubleshooting section of the product documentation.

  • Synchronization failure after upgrade to Desktop Software v.7.0

When trying to synchronize with Outlook after upgrade to Desktop Software v.7.0 got a message "CRADSDatabase ERROR (5211): There is an error converting Unicode string to or from code page string". The other options like device backup, synchronization of images and videos, file transfer, work fine. I am on BB Bold9700 (v.6.0, 2949) and Sony Vaio with Windows 7. The direction of synchronization does not matter and the same error pops up when e.g. only Tasks are attempted to synchronize.  There were no problems with Desktop Software v.6.

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.

  • Component SP level synchronization failure? "java.lang.NoSuchMethodError"

    Hello guys,
I was developing a WebDynpro JAVA application with the business logic as EJB using an SP14 NWDS. And the server was SP18. An error was generated when I was calling the functions/method interfaced through the command bean I used as a model in my WedDynpro JAVA project.
On the error, it suggested that - my NWDS SP level's likely not synced with the server as to where the application runs.
If the exception message indicates, that the modified class is part of the Web Dynpro Runtime
(package com.sap.tc.webdynpro.*) then the running Web Dynpro Runtime is of a version that is not compatible with the Web
Dynpro Designtime (Developer Studio or Component Build Server) which has been used to build + compile the application.
So, I upgraded my NWDS from SP14 to SP18. Recompiled the EJB and redeployed it. Repaired, Rebuilt, Reloaded my WebDynpro project.. Sadly, that didn't fix the issue.
Was there something I missed out?
    Help would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Jan
Edited by: JMJ on Jul 27, 2009 9:16 AM

    Hello Sergei,
    Thank you for the response!
I re-imported the model - but it didn't help. But what I found out is that, everytime I update anything in my EJB SessionBean say changing the return type from ArrayList to Collection - this error appears.
So, the reason must be some of the component imported by my WebDynpro application is not updated. The thing is, I don't know which since I've been repairing and rebuilding my WebDynpro application but with no help resolving the issue.
Any idea, how will I be able to keep every component updated?

  • Windows 7 has no notification of RAID failure?

This is a repost of this thread: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itprogeneral/thread/a77c6445-e504-4394-a945-7a6c096e0871
Per Technet, being a subscriber guarantees me a response from a Microsoft Engineer within two business days, but the previous thread was not answered satisfactorily, and now Microsoft seems to be ignoring it.  Since my previous thread went unresolved
and this is of critical importance, I chose to repost this and get a real answer from Microsoft.
Having Software RAID as a built-in option seems like a great idea. Hard disks are notoriously unreliable, and they carry the most important part of our technological world: our data. Being able to easily build a software RAID from two cheap 1TB drives gives
me so much piece of mind ... or does it?
I've noticed my software RAID seems to be periodically losing sync.* This is worrisome (maybe a drive is failing?) but not nearly as worrisome as HOW I noticed it. For some reason, after cruising along smoothly for several months with my RAID 1, I decided
to check on its status in Computer Management -> Disk Management. And, oh nos! there was my software RAID with a Failed Redundancy Error. I had to "Reactivate Disk" and it started resynching. I decided to check again every so often and everything was fine
again for a while until I lost synch again.
Again, my losing synch is not the point of this post. My point is why was there NO NOTIFICATION of my synchronization loss? I have NO IDEA how long my drives had lost synchronization before I stumbled upon that fact the first time. What is the point of software
RAID if Windows does not inform you that it has failed? I could lose one drive, go cruising along for months thinking I'm fine, then lose the other drive and POW! I'm left with nothing due to a false sense of security (please no lectures on RAID being for
reducing downtime and not for use as a backup solution - I KNOW).
I just had another loss of synchronization, and I checked around to see if I had been notified anywhere else (the Action Center seems like it could be a good candidate for this). Finding nothing, I've come here to post my concerns.
But in order to maintain my required level of uptime, I need to KNOW when a drive has failed redundancy so I can correct the situation (by replacing the drive or other). Where is the notification that I am running on only one drive?
Update: In the previous thread, it was suggested I use the Windows Task Scheduler to make my own custom notification based on RAID failure events in the Event Viewer.  After investigating this unnecessarily obtuse (but usable) solution, it was found
that Windows 7 does not generate any events for RAID synchronization failures.  This is astounding.  What I really want is graphical, e-mail, and event notification of a drive failure.  I will take just an event.  I find it amazing that
the new "Action Center" thinks it is important enough to tell me that my Flash player has a problem, but can't let me know that a drive is failing.  This seems like the perfect job for an OS notification system: to warn you when the feces is about to
    impact the ventilator.
*Update: the disk in question ended up dying completely and was replaced under warranty with no problems and the machine is now happily cruising along with 2 working and synchronized hard drives once again.  I would have never noticed I had a failed
hard drive if I didn't check on my own.

This is another Kludge that works on Windows 7
Microsoft Sysinternals has the BGInfo tool, which you can add vbscripts to generate additional data that gets included in the display.
    For example:
    Fields
    - Custom - New - 'MyRAID'
    * VB Script file
    Path: C:\raidchk.vbs
The contents of raidchk.vbs are below and belong to three websites, put together.
Site A. provided the idea for a vbscript to parse the diskpart.exe info
Site B. provided a better script that produced wscript messages
Site C. explained the wscript object was not available in VB script and to use Createobject instead
Once the script is generating output, adding it to the BGInfo configuration display is as easy as adding the line:
    MyRAID:   <MyRAID>
The output of the script gets substituted into the display field.
An improvement would be to WinTask schedule it to periodically update it. The length of the message output will dynamically "shift" the display front an center when a major event happens. The Vbscript could also include a. email, b. eventlogger,
    c. whistles and bells audio.. ect..
The reason the information is so hard to get at appears to be because VDS is a COM object based service, which brokers a user tool connection to vendor raid COM interface. There is no native wmi provider that will subscribe to the Microsoft RAID notifications
and provide status information, let alone bind to a notification service like email or eventx. diskpart or dmadmin are the limits provided.
But it almost looks like something Powershell could handle.
VDS Under PowerShell - a hint that it could be done
Some references that the information is readily available:
Volume Object- Mirror is a type of volume to VDS
VDS_VOLUME_PROP structure - a VDS volume has a status structure
    status - A
VDS_VOLUME_STATUS enumeration value that specifies the status of the volume.
    health - A
VDS_HEALTH enumeration value that specifies the health state of the volume.
    TransitionState - A
VDS_TRANSITION_STATE enumeration value that specifies the transition state of the volume.
    VDS_VOLUME_NOTIFICATION structure - a VDS volume
An application can receive volume events by implementing the
IVdsAdviseSink interface and passing the interface pointer as an argument to the
    IVdsService::Advise method.
To get the volume object, use the
IVdsService::GetObject method. You can then use the
    IVdsVolume::GetProperties method or the
IVdsVolume2::GetProperties2 method to get the volume properties.
    VDS Notifications
I say that without looking around very much. The recommended language for implementing a provider are C/C++ ect.. although I've never heard of a VB script wmi provider.. I think there would be data type language problems. Thus we are left with polling
as with most scripting, or some sort of event trigger like a eventx alert that will run a script as needed. The Advanced XMLconfig for Windows Task Scheduler in Win 7/2008 is quite advanced and has a fine degree of control for matching events if there are
events being logged by the VDS service with actual source data.
VDS is on the way out, the COM interface is deprecated and will not support storage spaces, likewise the API and tools for Storage Spaces will not support VDS. This is a "take a leap of faith" moment.
I tend to prefer to wait a year or two before trusting my data to the effort.
As for Software vs Intel ICH vs dedicated HBA ?
I'm interested at a low level for personal use, something easy and reliable beyond Tape backup or any system that requires me to perform an action, or allocate huge amounts of reduced performance time to feed the Tapes, feed the Backup service.. ect.
I have tried every variation possible and come to the conclusion that at one time Hardware raid made sense on an enterprise level. But never the consumer. The RAID built into the motherboard tends to stay with the motherboard if that dies. Ditto with the
HBA and its impossible trying to source a compatible HBA a season or two after the latest greatest hardware release. A long term available HBA is going to cost lots of money, because they have no other way to make back the money they could have made by releasing
more new product, or to pay for the space to store the inventory. Ebay is not a great hardware vendor HBA sourcing plan. Tape backup and any major network backup system are too slow.
At the same time, BIOS/UEFI being what it is, trusting a bootable volume to RAID between versions from the same manufacturer or differerent manufacturers is fool hardy. There is no incentive for cross vendor bootable RAID support. So plan to burn the bootable
operating system drive, its expendable. Deliberately move the profile and data regions to either junction points or off to the mirror array. When a drive dies, replace it, when a motherboard dies replace it and reinstall the operating system. When all else
fails, import the foreign "soft" raid mirror into another operating system.. and with 2003/XP being over 13 years old and still kicking.. that trumps any hardware vendor for longevity. If W7 lasts that long.. or longer.. it will be a good run. W8/2012
are in their infancy and have a lot of testing to go through in the real world.
And for offsite replication, static archiving. There is always eSATA and an external drive that could be added to the mirror and subsequently broken. Being natively driven by the operating system I would suspect it would be reliable.. but testing is always
the best way to shore up belief.

  • EHS - Synchronization error when trying to generate WWI accident report

    Dear all,
I have a problem with WWI accident reports. I have created an accident report template (from the example SOP template), released the template and assigned a generation variant to it. When I try to generate the accident report from CBIH82 Edit Incident/Accident Log, and select "Report Information System" from the menu, I can see the report tree and the report. When I click the report (paper and glass) icon, I see the "Maintain Object Keys" box. The "Person affect..." field is blank; though the input help icon is present, on clicking it, I get the message "No input help available". On clicking OK, I get the error message "Synchronization Failure. Please try to call WWI again."
If anyone knows about this error, could you please enlighten me how to get out of it.
I do not have a problem with the reports linked to specifications, like the MSDS. They are displayed correctly on clicking the report in the report tree.
    Thank you and Regards,
    Mohan.

    Hello Mohan,
I am also getting this error with the WWI gen server when I try to see any report in CVD1 transaction.
Though when I switched the WWI server from 'Service' to 'Console', the problem was solved. I am still working on it to get it working when I run the Gen server as 'Windows service' and not 'Console'. Let me know If you find any lead here.
    Thanks,
    Hitanshu

  • Always On Alerting - Synchronisation Failure

    Hi,
I've setup a SQL AlwaysOn Availability Group between 2 Windows 2012 Servers runing SQL 2012 using a file share witness. I'm using synchronous commit between the two nodes and I'm using a file share witness.
How can I configure alerting so that if the database synchronisation stops for any reason, an email is raised?
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi  Peter,
To configure alerts for SQL Server AlwaysOn availability Group, firstly, you can execute the following scripts to get error messages for alerts relating to AlwaysOn availability Group. Then choose the specific error numbers that indicate database synchronization
failure when creating alerts. For more details, you can follow the steps in the blog:
Configuring Alerts for SQL Server AlwaysOn Availability Groups.
    SELECT message_id [error_number], severity, text
    FROM sys.messages
    WHERE text LIKE ('%availability%')
    AND is_event_logged = 1;
    Thanks,

  • WRV210 DHCP Lease failure

    Hello,
I recently purchased a new WRV210 as an upgrade from my old, faithful WRT54G wireless router in order to support multiple ssids. When the WRV210 WAN port is connected to my Speedstream 5100B DSL modem, for whatever reason, I cannot obtain a lease address from the DSL modem. I can put the WRT54G in its place and it functions properly. I can also connect the WRV210 downstream of the WRT54G and it will obtain an address from the 54G. The WRV210 is running V1.16 firmware which appears to be the current release. I've seen similar discussions of people adding static addresses as workarounds, but it would seem to me such a basic wireless router function should be a given, especially since the WRT54G can obtain the address without issue. Any help would be appreciated. I'm about ready to return this thing to the dealer if this issue cannot be resolved.

UPDATE 5:40 PM 2/7/2011 : Just kidding ... still same issue so I am returning it ... back to the linksys garbageG router I got a box full of them !
rcbash I have good news and bad news
good news: I got it working
bad news: the WRV210 is basicly just the linksysrouter with cisco branding on it and !@#$% firmware ..
I called Charter they where no help
I called cisco nice but after 15min of trying to @#$^ing register ... no help .. I told them I was going to downgrade the firmware and the put me on hold then suggested I run latest firmware and change out the cable ... after explaning to them all the details of the issue..
( CISCO thanks for selling me out to spam  ! I love how you wont help your customers without registering ..... but you will surely sell us out ! I got this email shortly after registering ..

Under Wireless tab, change the wireless channel to 11.Under Advance Wireless Settings..Change the Beacon Interval to 50, Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304.Under the Security tab, disable " Block Anonymous Internet Requests ".Power cycle the WCG and then,check...If that doesn't help, you need to upgrade the firmware of your modem..You can get the firmware from your ISP.

  • Expanding xServe RAID Array - updated info sought.

I don't want to have to reformat the RAID and I don't want to lose data because...
    1) The organization will suffer extended downtime.
    2) I don't have ready access to 3TB of empty storage to back up the entire contents of the RAID.
These and Apple's documentation are a few of the many different sources of info on this topic I've sought.
With apologies in advance to William Lloyd, who has answered many of these questions.
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/3330193
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/3643384
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/4543149
    My (familiar) situation.
I inherited administration responsibilities for an xServe RAID using the latest firmware (1.5.1).
The xServe is an intel xeon dual 2 GHz, running Mac OS X Server 10.6.8
The RAID had six (sigh) drives in the left controller. None in the right.
When I became admin, one of these six was dead. So I went on eBay and got three refurb ADM's.
--one to replace the dead drive.
--another to expand the RAID 5 to a full seven drives. (from 2.5T to 2.73T)
--a third to put on the shelf as a spare.
    Now then.
The replacement drive rebuilt beautifully. Happy 6 drive RAID.
I put in the 7th drive and expanded. It took several days.
I'm at the point of "merging" slices that gives everyone pause about losing data.
Much discussion here about whether this can result in added capacity without destroying data relates to earlier versions of Mac OS X Server and G5 not Intel xServes. So that's a point that I think I could use some clarity on. Can Intel Macs can expand the file system with this slice-merging function without data loss whereas Power PC Macs cannot?
Next, my RAID as I inherited it was one slice. That is to say, one volume. One partition. In RAID Admin under "Arrays and Drives" all the little drives display a [1]. They did when the RAID was degraded to 5 drives. They did when I added the 6th drive replacement. They do now, having used the Expansion function under "Advanced" to add the 7th drive.
So, next question. WAS IT EVER SLICED?
That seems to be a deal-breaker for merging slices without data loss.
For this, I looked in RAID Admin to my Events tab which dates all the way back to 2008.
I see exactly zero mentions of slicing anywhere. Come with me on a journey, won't you?
You'll see my expansion and verification up top.
The drive failure in October 2013.
Other exciting things. But no slicing.

  • Constant disconnections and reboots

Over the last couple of weeks, my Homehub 4 seems to be disconnecting and rebooting more frequently than usual.
But today it has been happening constantly.  It will happen during an incoming or outgoing landline call, but more often it is happening when the landline is not in use.  The landline is noticeably and unusually crackly.
I have performed a BT line test but no fault was found, and I am warned of the potential £129 charge if I proceed with an engineer call out.  I have tested via the master socket and experience the same crackle on the landline, and same disconnections/reboots with the Homehub 4.  I have replaced the filters and also tested with my old Homehub 3, but still experience all the same issues.
Connecting via BT Fon, I experience far better speeds than my home connection has been of late.
I will try and copy a couple of pages of the Homehub's Events Log, but am having difficulty remaining online long enough to access the hub's settings.  It makes little sense to me, but I am wonder if someone else could kindly take a look to see if anything stands out as a possible cause of the problem.
    Many thanks.
