Synchronization IPhone / with ITunes (new computer)

hello,
I used ITunes to synchronize my IPhone4, but the computer is out of order.
On my new computer I installed ITunes, but when i plugged my IPhone 4 , an error message appeared.
What is the procedure, when we change a computer without to be able to make a "ITunes documents transfer".
Thanks.

Contacts are designed to be synced to a compatible application on the computer or a cloud service.  If you chose to rely solely on the iDevice for contacts, it is very likely that they will be lost in the sync.
Photos taken with the iDevice are designed to be copied off the device and then synced back via iTunes.  Again, it is very likely they will be lost.
The situation that you are in currnetly is exactly why regular, consistent backups are extremely important.

Go to the App Store and check out the Purchases List. If iPhoto is there then it will be v9.6.1
If it is there, then drag your existing iPhoto app (not the library, just the app) to the trash
Install the App from the App Store.
Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

  • Hi, I lost my computer. How can I sincronize my iphone with the new computer without loose my contacts and apps?

    Hi,
    I lost my computer.
How can I sincronize me Iphone with the new computer without loose my contacts and apps?
    Thanks

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
Use your backup copy to move everything to the new computer.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from the iphone:  File>Transfer Purchases
If you enter one unique contact and calendar entry on your computer, then when you first sync you should get the option to merge the data.

  • HT201253 How do I sync iPhone with a new computer without losing data?

I've got a new laptop and have transferred my iTunes library from my old desktop to my new computer.  I want to sync my iPhone with the new iTunes library, but I get the scary message that my phone is synced to my old computer, and all my data will be erased and replaced from the new library.  What exactly will be erased?  Is it just the music and other media files, or will I have to reinstall all my apps and other data as well?  As a precaution, I've backed up my phone to iCloud.  I'd hate to have to completely restore my phone, but if necessary I will.  The instructions for this on the Apple Support site are not clear.  Thanks in advance for any help/reassurance!
    iPhone 4, running iOS 7.1.2
Computer is an Acer running Windows 8.1
    Thanks!

You won't lose any of your iPhone settings when syncing your iPhone with a new computer. When doing so, iTunes on the new computer will create a backup of your iPhone where your iPhone settings are stored.
In addition to an iTunes backup, did you also create a backup of photos that were stored on your old Mac along with contact information, calendar events, and bookmarks?
Before syncing your iPhone, you need to transfer your iTunes library from your old Mac to your new. Then authorize your new Mac with iTunes with your iTunes account. Did you de-authorize your old Mac with iTunes? You can have up to 5 computers authorized with the same iTunes account.
Also before syncing, enter one contact in the Address Book, and one calendar events in iCal on your new Mac. Make these up if needed, which can be deleted later after the first sync. This will provide a merge prompt when syncing this data, which you want to select - especially if you don't have a backup of contact information and calendar events from your old Mac.
If you use iPhoto for transferring photos from your computer to your iPhone, you need to transfer your iPhoto library from your old Mac to your new or any photos that were transferred from your old Mac to your iPhone will be lost when transferring photos to your iPhone from your new Mac.

  • How do you sync an iPhone with a new computer?

I know this question has been posted on this forum countless times, but none of the responses seemed to help me. I need a simple and clear answer on how to sync my iPhone to a new computer. I used to sync my iPhone with a Mac, but I got a new laptop running Windows 8 and I want to sync my iPhone with this new laptop. All the responses on this site tell me to download some sort of software to extract the data from my iPhone, but none of them seem to be free. My old Mac is still intact, so I can still use it if I need to. All of this is really confusing. Sorry if I'm being really ignorant about all of this, I just really need some help.

    Welcome to the discussions,
a manual backup should help to transfer your data and apps.
Disable autosync in itunes, connect your phone, right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your phone without syncing and save data, pictures taken with the phone and settings to the new itunes library.
See what's included in this backup here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1766
After that, transfer your purchases the same way by choosing "transfer purchases", to copy all apps and bought media from the Store to your computer.
Set up at least one contact and event on your computer to be able the merge your calendars and contacts after your phone got wiped during the first sync.
The rest of the data can be restored again from the manual backup you made before.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in itunes and transferred your purchases.
There is 3rd party software out there, but not supported by Apple, see this thread: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2013615&tstart=0

  • How do i sync my iphone with a new computer

I recently purchased a new iMac and would like to sync my iphone (and iPad) with the new computer. I was previously using a mac book and I thought it would be as easy as just plugging the phone in to my new computer, but from what I have been able to find on-line it seems to be a bit more complicated and most discussion threads seem to say I will need to purchase a 3rd party app to do this. I find it hard to believe Apple does not make it easy for their customers to upgrade computers and still sync iPhones, iPads and iPods.
Am I making this more complicated than I need to? Is it as simple as just plugging the phone in to my new machine? My fear is I might over write data on the phone or the computer.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks
    Brad

The simplest way to acheive what you want is to use Micragion Assistant to move your user account from your old MacBook to the new iMac. I recently moved from an old iMac to a new one and when connecting my iPhone and iPad for the first time, all I had to do was enter my password to authorize it in iTunes.

  • How do i sync the iphone with a new computer without losing pictures?

my laptop was stolen and i've recently replaced it. now when i try to sync my iphone with the new laptop, it gives me messages saying that it will replace what's on the iphone by whatever it currently has on the itunes library. i can't have this happen because i have several photos that were uploaded to my iphone via the old laptop. i'd like to find a way to download the pictures and then place them back in my itunes library for sync in the future. at the very least, just be able to download them off my iphone to back them up. please help!

There is no way to get pictures off the phone or to move them from folders to the camera roll. The format on the phone is proprietary, so even if you could get them off you couldn't use them. Having said that, search the Internet; there are some apps that can access some files on the iPhone without hacking it. There may be one that can get the photos off. The only other option is to email them to yourself. This will reduce the resolution, however.
I'm afraid you have pointed out the importance of frequent computer backups.

  • Scared to sync my iPhone with iTunes after computer crash

Hi - my computer crashed and I had to reinstall iTunes.  I used a program and recovered all of my music and apps from my iPhone 4S and then added a few new music files.  I'd like to sync my phone with iTunes to get these new music files on it (they are from a CD, not an iTunes purchase).  I'm afraid that when I sync, it will erase all of my pictures since there aren't any pictures on iTunes.  How can I be sure this won't happen?  I want to use iTunes for syncing and back up but I'm scared to, because it might erase everything.  I have already checked off the "do not automatically sync."  But once I press that sync button, what might happen to my pictures?
    Help and thanks!!!

  • Adding on music for iphone with a new computer

I'm sorry for this for being a noob question, but my old computer with itunes which synced with my iphone has died - so is there ANY way I can edit all song information without having to reformat/resync with a new computer?
    many thanks

You don't maintain a backup copy? This is one of the many reasons that always maintaining backup is basic.
If for some reason you did not backup ( not good), then you can transfer itunes purchases from your iphone. Without syncing: File>Transfer Purchases
You can backup your iphone ( does not include apps/music/vids/etc) to your new computer, see this article for clarification:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you enter at least one unique contact/calendar entry into your computer, then you should get the option to merge the data when you first sync.
It is very important to always maintain a backup copy of all important info, as computer/hard drives do not always announce their pending failure.

  • Using an iPhone with a new computer

I've had my iPhone for almost a year now, and it has been synced with my iMac G5. So, all of my songs, photos, etc. on my iPhone came from this mac.
I just got a MacBook Pro and since I'll be going to college this year I'll be using my MacBook Pro and not my desktop mac. Is there any way for me to transfer the data that's on my iPhone from my mac over to my MacBook Pro? Is it as simple as saving all of my songs to an external hard drive, importing them onto the MacBook Pro and re-syncing my iPhone to that laptop? If it's this simple then I'll do that, but isn't an iPhone programed to whatever computer you first used it with?
I'm sorry if this is too long or confusing. Basically, I'm not going to be using my desktop mac at college, I'll be using my MacBook Pro, but I still want to use my iPhone (which was originally synced with the desktop mac.) What do I do?
    Thank you in advance,
    -Karl

You should be able to sync the contacts and calendar data from your iPhone to the new computer. The only music you would be able to transfer from your iPhone to the computer is the purchased music.
To get the music, select "Transfer Purchases from..." at the bottom of the File menu in iTunes.
Alternatively, you can use the migration assistant and connect the MacBook Pro and iMac together using a firewire cable.
This article explains how to do that:

  • Iphone with a new computer

If I sync my iPhone with another computer that isn't the one I originally synced it with will I lose my contacts and text messages?
I also transferred my purchases off my phone to this computer including the apps, will I be able to put the apps back onto my phone with this new computer?

If I sync my iPhone with another computer that isn't the one I originally synced it with will I lose my contacts and text messages?
No. Messages are not included with the iTunes sync process except for being included with the iPhone's backup which is updated by iTunes as the first step during the iTunes sync process. The same applies to contacts unless you are syncing contacts with a supported address book application on the computer which is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes. If you do want to sync contacts with a supported address book application on your computer as designed and intended and which is a good idea in case your iPhone is lost or stolen, before syncing with a supported address book application enter one contact in the application on your computer. Make the contact up if needed, which can be deleted later. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select.
In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can by synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only, and photos can be transferred from a single computer only. When transferring iTunes content and photos from another computer, all iTunes content and photos transferred from a different computer will be erased from the iPhone first, but no other data on the iPhone will be erased.
You need to authorize your new computer with your iTunes account with iTunes.
You can avoid this by transferring your iTunes library from your old computer to your new computer per the instructions included with this link.

  • How to synchronize iPhone with iTunes in Mac and BootCamp.

    Hi,
I have a Macbook Pro and recently I purchased an iPhone. For work reasons I use windows as well as Mac OS ( I prefeer MacOS by in my company we develop windows software...)
The problem is that I synchronized my iPhone with iTunes in Windows and I want to use my iPhone with Mac iTunes too.
I think a possible solution is to use the same library in the two OS, and I don't know if it is possible.
In Mac OS I don't have write access to BootCamp's NTFS file-system partition, so I use a Windows software to full acces to Mac OS partition. For me the solution would be to place windows iTunes library files in MacOS partition and use these files with MacOS iTunes as library too, but I don't know if it's possible.
If anyone have any other idea how to solve this problem...
    Thanks,
    Raul

All your contacts, photos, music etc. should be on your computer, so you just sync the second iPhone to the same computer as the first iPhone.
