Synchronization logs

Are synchronization errors when in cache mode just a way of life. I have never been able to find out what causes them. I see there is a registry entry to suppress them. I thought when I retired Exchange 2003 and went purely to Exchange 2010 they would go
away. My offline address book is working well so I'm at a lost what causes these. Any ideas?

Hi,
Is the posting the complete Synchronization Log? Is there a Done or Download successful under the log?
In most cases, these errors are logged in the Sync Issues folder when the items no longer exist in the Exchange mailbox. In these cases, the error can be safely ignored. Here is a KB descripted the details about it, please refer to:
Sync Issues folder for Outlook contains warnings such as "Synchronization of some deletions failed"

    Please
assist with this error. Is it serious? The URL provided does not offer nor reflect any worthwhile information. Thanks.

The error means that the client hasn’t located the resource it’s looking for
Does the error appear on all outlook clients?
Do you use organizational forms library? (KB
    933358)
The error can be caused by incorrect permission on the “EFORMS REGISTRY”, so please run the cmdlet below to check the permission on
the Default group, the permission should be “Reviewer”
    Get-PublicFolderClientPermission “\NON_IPM_SUBTREE\EFORMS REGISTRY”
Per my research, you can avoid this error by removing all the subfolders in the “EFORMS REGISTRY” folder, if you don’t use organizational
forms library. But, please use the Get-PublicFolderStatistics cmdlet to verify that no items under the “EFORMS REGISTRY” folder before. And, if the error still appears, please remove the OST file and then recreate the mail profile
Please run ExBPA against the exchange servers for health/permission check
Notes: If forms library replicas are added to Exchange 2010 servers, 80004005-501-4B9-560
will appear in the sync message, yet it can be safely ignored

  • Where do I find the synchronization log?

Hello.  I'm new to the forum (and Blackberry), and I've learned a lot the last few days browsing the posts;  solved a few issues thanks to the many posters.  So far, I haven't come across the solution to one problem.  When I synch my Storm, I get a message: "There was a total of 2 reconrd(s) skipped during the synchronization as summarized below:  Address Book: Device -0, Microsoft Outlook -2.  Please check the synchronization log for more details."
Number 1.  What would cause the skipped records?
Number 2.  Where is the synchronization log?  Using some information I found elsewhere, I look in the Program Files/Research In Motion/Blackberry folder, where there is supposed to be a PIN folder that contains the synch. log folder--but the PIN folder does not exist.  I tried creating the PIN folder and re-synched, but that didn't work.  Is the log located somewhere else for the Storm?
It seems logical if you need to view the log, RIM should provide a link to it along with the message, so you could jump right to it.  Palm has always done that, and it can't be very difficult to add this convenience for users.

Duh!  I guess I need a remedial reading class!  You were correct (of course!).  I found the log just where you said it was.  But I'm not sure how this log will help me to resolved the "skipped entry" issue.  I've posted the text of the log below:

  • [eSSO] Enable Synchronization Log

    Hello people!
I need synchronization log so I see when error ocurrent in the establish connection with eSSO Logon Manager.
I found IBM Troubleshooting TAMESSO documentation a Synchonization Log but is not funtionally with Oracle eSSO LM.
    HELP ME!
    thanks!

    Hi,
The Synchronization log errors will commonly occur when using cached Exchange mode. The errors were generated for various reasons like when clients try to Synchronize copies of emails from cached server folders, Network connectivity issues, multiples clients
access same email. The exchange sync will work fine even though the error logs generated. There are various ways in which this can be limited.
The one and widely used method is to keep these error messages out of the "Unread Mail" folder by creating rule in Outlook and other way is to create a new DWORD value in the registry.
Follow the below steps to create a new DWORD value.
    - Open REGEDIT
    - Go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Microsoft > Office > 14.0 > Outlook >  Options
    - Now create a new DWORD value and name it as "EnableConflictLogging" and set the value as 0 (zero).
    The values available are:
0 (zero): Never save modification resolution logs
1: always save modification resolution logs
2: only save critical modification resolution logs
    Hope this helps.

    Santhosh.

  • Cache synchronization log

    Hi,
I am using Toplink's cache synchronization by JMS. Is there a log where I can see the objects being synchronized.
    Thanks,
    Moin

    Moin,
You can get details of the cache coordination activities by enabling debugging. The details of what is being synchronized is not displayed in any log. This would be far too intrusive on performance. You could add this yourself by using a SessionEventListener.postCommitUnitOfWork. In this event the ChangeSet will include all changes that will be synchronized.

  • OneToManyMapping Synchronization

I have a case where a group of object mappings contains three levels of one-to-many relationships with indirection turned off.
I have a query that retrieves the top level object in this relationship, which in turn forces Toplink to invoke several subsequent queries to fulfill the one-to-many mapping requirements. In total four queries are executed for the operation.
If a single client session executes the query the entire operation takes from ~5 seconds to complete. However, if multiple client sessions execute the query in parallel the operation takes n clients * (~5 seconds). For 5 simultaneous sessions this translates into 25 seconds for all invocations to return.
After a bit of investigation it turns out that the extractresultFromBatchQuery method in OneToManyMapping is synchronized. This, in itself wouldn't be terrible if the synchronous behavior was forced around the full grouping of query executions. However, what is happening is that the calls are being interspersed from all of the sessions, forcing a wait on all previous query calls. For example, if session1 executes the query at the 0 second mark, and session5 at the 20 second mark, assuming 5 total sessions, the operation for session 5 will complete in 5 seconds, at the 25 second mark, but the calls for sessions1-4 will also complete at the same time.
Is synchronization required on this method? Is there some reasonable approach that will avoid this type of behavior?
    I'm working with Toplink v9.0.3.

  • SMP 2.3 sp4 Synchronization in the native application on HTTPS

Hi I have a big problem with synchronization on port 443 / https.
    This is the architecture.
At the Relay Server I have installed a trusted certificate in IIS.
I do not know what I need to use the certificate in SMP and application code.

    My code looks like this:

    [Cause]
    ============
It is a known issue. This issue occur when you have Organizational Forms Library feature enabled on Exchange Server. When Outlook tries to sync the folder (All the Organization
Forms store in the Exchange Server’s Public Folder Database -> System Folders ->EFORMS Registry), an unexpected sync error occurs. However, this does not mean this behavior infects the Organization Forms data
synchronization. We have done tests on serval machines. The result is users can still use
Organizational Forms properly with this error
    synchronization log in Outlook.
    [Solution]
    ============
    You have two options:
    1. Just safely ignore this error because there is no user impacts.
    2. If you don’t need the Organizational Forms Library feature, you can just disable this feature to workaround this issue.

  • RDBMS Synchronization problem in ACS Appliance 3.3

    Hi,
I was adding multiple AAA Clients on ACS Appliance using RDBMS Synchronization option I followed the complete steps but failed to synchronize accountActions.csv file on ACS my ftp server is working fine and returned the logs saying "accountActions.csv file read recieved file successfully size 0 bytes 0.00 kbps" and RDBMS synchronization logs ACS reported as "No import CSV file on ftp server - nothing to process" I have attached related screen shots. Any help on this issue will be highly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards,
    Ahmed

The format of the accountsaction.csv file is incorrect as a result of which the RDBMS Synchronization is not executed correctly.
I have attached a sample accountsAction.csv file for you.
    (i) The AAA Client C7609-X with the ip address 10.10.10.10 has been added with the shared secret key as mikey and is is registered with TACACS+
(ii) The NDG michasisX has been added.
(iii) The device C7609-X has been added to the NDG michasisX
Place the file in the FTP and try performing an RDBMS synchronization. Restart the ACS services.
Then you can add the devices as per the sample file attached.
Also check if the file name is exactly the same in the RDBMS Synchronization page in the ACS
    Hope this helps,
    Soumya

Once the record is located delete it then try the sync again.
Let me know how you make out.

  • Synchronization failure after upgrade to Desktop Software v.7.0

When trying to synchronize with Outlook after upgrade to Desktop Software v.7.0 got a message "CRADSDatabase ERROR (5211): There is an error converting Unicode string to or from code page string". The other options like device backup, synchronization of images and videos, file transfer, work fine. I am on BB Bold9700 (v.6.0, 2949) and Sony Vaio with Windows 7. The direction of synchronization does not matter and the same error pops up when e.g. only Tasks are attempted to synchronize.  There were no problems with Desktop Software v.6.

    Hello again.
I have a few ideas...including the registry cleansing that you did not do, along with the other things in that thread that you may have skipped over.
In addition, hHere is the list of troubleshooting articles...hopefully something will be useful:

Also, check that you are using only root USB ports...no hubs (sometimes the front-side ports are hubs...use a rear USB port). And make sure to try disabling USB power management in your system configuration (Device Manager).
Also check on conflicting software...it has been reported that the software package NTI Shadow&Ninja can cause a conflict; removing them and reinstalling the BB desktop software allows it to install correctly.
Apologies in advance if this is redundant -- there's no way to be sure if you've already seen and tried these. Also apologies if any are not presently available...RIM takes them up and down at will as they revise things.
    Hopefully something there is helpful!

  • Error While synchronizing with DOE

    Hello Experts!
I have installed NW Mobile 7.1 client on PDA. I created device in DOE, after giving required sync settings, I could see synchronize my device with the DOE. The device status in DOE gets changed from Initial to Registered after Sync. However, on my PDA while I am synchronizing, it gives messages"exchanging messages with the server". This message comes until the status bar is at 50 %, after reaching this point, the status bar doesn't go ahead and after some time I get an error message "unexpected end of file from server".
Am I missing out on any setting. I think I am able to connect to the server but the synchronization cycle is not completing.
In the Synchronization log it is showing that last sync was successful and Device ID, Physical ID , Device Name is getting displayed.
Can anyone help me out with this.
I am attaching the error message in the trace file below.

    Hi,
    Here are some possible reasons...
    1. The connection seems to have been dropped by the server.
    2. A non-suuported HTTP version or format was used.
    - HTTP 1.0 does not issue Status Lines that begin with "HTTP/1.1", so
if you expect a different version and it is not there, then this would
be an Exception (to the rule).
    3. Packets are being dropped without retransmission from the server.
    4. Non-Implemented Method (GET, HEAD, POST, TRACE, DELETE, PUT), if you
expect to get a POST and in reality get a TRACE, then the line will be different and could possibly cause an error (but an exception?).
    5. A timeout or connection was reset.
    Regards
    Manohar

  • Why is it so difficult to get an answer on how to connect a Blackberry Bold 9930 to a Windows 7 PC?

I've been jumping through hoops for days trying to get my brand new Blackberry Bold 9930 to connect to either of my two PCs. It will not connect to my new MacBook Pro or a new Windows 7 laptop. I am up to date on all software. This is very frustrating. Can anyone please help? I've read article after article and I cannot believe RIM does not post a fix for this. I've wasted hours trying to get this thing to work. It is no wonder people are moving away from Blackberry.

    Hello,
Well, it works just fine for many people...and there's no way to know, from your post, why it's not working for your specific situation...which quite naturally would preclude posting any sort of fix to your situation. From what you've said, all I can recommend is this:
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/Desktop-Software-for-PC/Cleanly-quot-Starting-Over-quot-with-...
It starts with a process for cleanly starting over, and there is some discussion, and there is also a post (15) with links to older Desktop Software versions, if those are needed. Note that this is not, by any means, guaranteed to work...but it has worked for many to resolve issues they are having.
Of course, if we could know more about what exactly is going on in your situation, we might be able to provide you with better guidance...but from a report that basically boils down to "it's not working", there's really no direction to go in seeking out help for your specific situation. Details about exactly what you try and exactly what results may be more helpful.
Also, here is the list of other troubleshooting articles...hopefully something will be useful:

  • Calendar will no longer sync

    Hello,
Using Desktop manager 5.0.1, I can no longer sync Microsoft Outlook Calendar 2007 with my BB 9700.  My Desktop manager installed quite a few updates this morning, prior to this syncing problem.  Outlook Contacts and Task appear to be syncing ok after the updates were installed.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you.
I should add there are a couple messages that pop up as it appears to be trying to sync the calendar, but they disappear to quickly for me to read and jot down the message.

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Those messages would help a ton...otherwise it's just guesswork. As such, I recommend activating advanced logging to see if that provides you anything more useful:
