Synchronization Server

I am trying to install the Synchronization server (Oracle Lite).
When doing so, I receive a Dos window requesting user ID. It
also states shows error message, ORA-12224 TNS: No Listener.
Can anyone please help me?? I can't find a problem with the
listener and TNSnames file unless I'm missing something. From
what I understand the listener is installed with the server,
therefore, why is it missing?
Please help??!!

What version of EAL have you installed, what OS + 32bit/64bit are you installing it on.
What version of the OUI did you use.
Have you gone through all the configuration steps successfully.

FIM Synchronization Server Migration

HI,
In our environment FIM Synchronization Server is used to synchronise the user attributes and creation of mailbox on exchnage server. 4 AD MA are configured to sync the configured to sync the user attributes and rule extension(.net source code) is used
to create a mailbox on exchnage server.
Existing infrastructure:FIM 2010 R2 SP-1 and OS is 2008 and database SQL Server 2008.
We are migrating the existing FIM environment to new plateform windows 2012 and database 2012.
There are two approach as below.Please confirm which will be better and any other points to be taken care.
Approach 1:
1. Create new service account and security groups before new installation.
2. Install the FIM Synchronization server using the new database sql 2012.
3. Export the schema from old FIM environment and import to new environment.
4 Export the all the MA from old environment and import in new environment.
5. Uncheck the deprovision option and check the precedence of attributes.
6. Move the rule extension dll files from old env to new env.
7. Change the service account used in the MA.
8. Run the full import of the 4 AD MA.
9. Run the Full sync of 4 AD MA.
10.RUN the export for 4 AD.
11.Once it works fine, schedule the task scheduler.
Approach 2:
1. Move the old FIM database to new sql server 2012.
2. Install the FIM Synchronization and select option reuse existing database.
3. Uncheck the deprovision option.
4. Move the rule extension dll files from old environment to new server.
5. Run the full import,sync and export profile.
However,I don't know the credentails of old MA, encryption key. So password of the service account can be reset directory on the AD and then reset the password in the configured MA.

I found the encryption key. It was stored on the server.
Now, I can use the this encryption key during the installation of FIM Synchronization Server on the new platform using the new service account and 5 security groups.
Steps are as below.
1.Create new service account and security groups before new installation on AD.
2.Move the old FIM database to new sql server 2012.
3. Install the FIM Synchronization and select option reuse existing database,new service account and use the old encryption key which was taken during the installation time. .
4. Login the Sync console and uncheck the deprovision option.
5. Move the rule extension dll files from old environment to new server.
6. Run the full import,sync and export profile.

Two DW Synchronization Server instances by mistake.

Hi!
I experienced the symptoms described in
KB2771934 and ran the suggested script. It did not make a difference so I continued looking and found out that it was a firewall problem instead. However, now I´ve ended up with two instances of "Data Warehouse Synchronization Server". How
can I delete one of them and which one should I delete?
I was fooled when looking for the instances before running the script, I looked for "Microsoft.SystemCenter.DataWarehouseSynchronizationServer" which turned out zero, instead of the correct one "DataWarehouse Synchronization Server" and
therefore thought the KB applied to me....

Too bad that there is no discovery for that class. So you can't disable it by override and further SCOMDisabledClassInstance does not work.
My idea is to override the monitors/rules targeted to all instances of that class that are there by accident. Hopefully there are no workflows running in the background... will search the DB for entries.

Data Warehouse Synchronization server - too many entries

I am having problems with app advisor not getting performace data. I believe that it is due to the Data Warehouse Synchronization
server having too many entries as I only have 1. How do I remove a server?

Seems you need to restore the OperationsManager Database from the previous backup, try the methods in the kb.

EALink Data Synchronization Server cannot be updated

Hello,
we are using EALink to download an HFM model to Essbase.
Even all lights are green on the EALink bridge and the outline is downloaded and created as expected, data is not loaded into Essbase database.
When we click on update metadata we get the following error:
[2013-jun-21 17:27:52] Essbase database is successfully created
[2013-jun-21 17:28:21] Data Synchronization Server data cannot be updated: Analytics Link cannot communicate with Financial Management or Analytics Link Connector for Financial Management
[2013-jun-21 17:28:23] Metadata is successfully extracted from Financial Management
I've taken a look to logs and cannot see anything wrong.
Could anyone help us with this? Any help will be appreciated.

AUSST fresh synchronization - server not responding ...

Hello. We have just subscribed a number of people to CCT. I have created the necessary packages successfully. Now, I am in the process of setting up AUSST for the first time. I have tried on both a Windows Server 2003 SP3 and Windows Server 2008R2 server with the same results. It gets to a certain point and then seems to timeout. See command prompt text below.
Is this simply network conjestion somewhere and I just have to keep trying until I jag it sometime? We have a 10Mb Fibre connection and I am doing it at a quiet time of the evening. Therefore, I don't think its my end.
Any other ideas?

Thanks Sumita and Philadendron.
I have tried both fresh and incremental sync at various times of the day up to about 11pm AEST. They have all failed at around the 20 items mark.
As 99.9% of our staff work 8am to 6pm, bandwidth after 6pm is not a problem. As i indicated before, we also have a 10Mb Ethernet over Fibre connection. My firewall (pfsense) graphs the bandwidth in realtime. When I start AUSST, I see the bandwidth reach 10Mb until AUSST fails and the bandwidth use returns to its normal very low level.
I usually have no problems downloading large programs from companies such as Autodesk or Linux (4GB) DVD ISO files from CentOS etc. This is something I usually do during the evening and find the bandwidth available more than adequate.
I think my setup is somewhat different to yours, Philadendron. Here are some details:
Our fibre terminates at a Cisco router (don't recall model) configured as a bridge. This is connected to a dedicated NIC on one our ESX4 hosts. Our firewall is pfSense 2.0.3 running as a VM on the ESX host. Our ESX hosts connect to the LAN through a HP 2810-24G switch. Our ESX hosts are HP DL380G6's with a mix of Intel and Broadcom NICs. I'm not sure which NIC is dedicated to the WAN.
The first machine i tried AUSST on was Windows Server 2003 running as a KVM VM on a CentOS 6.4 (x64) host. This host hardware is an old Dell Poweredge 840. It is connected to the same HP2810 switch as the ESX hosts.
The other machine I have tried is a HP Probook 6560b laptop running Windows 7 Pro x64. It is connected to a small desktop switch in my office. This in turn is connected to LAN switch in the server room. The LAN switch is connected to the HP2810 via 2 x 1Gb aggregated links.
In both cases, the LAN IP of both machines is configured to completely bypass the firewall proxy server (squid). In fact, I have even disabled squid completely to see if this made any difference. It didn't.
There is no bandwidth throttling. In fact, I was wondering if bandwidth throttling might work. Perhaps the adobe update server is getting overwhelmed by the speed of the requests. That doesn't seem plausible but when nothing else seems to be working, I usually start looking at the less plausible options. When I get a chance, I may try AUSST from a regional office using a Telstra ADSL2+ WAN link. These are considerably slower than our 10Mb fibre link. However, I don't really expect any difference.
I also don't want our staff all downloading the updates individually. However, at this stage we only have 4. So it is somewhat easier to manage than 20+!
If I think of anything, I will update this thread. However, I don't believe it is at our end unless something is going on with our service provider (Telstra). This is highly unlikely though.

Weblogic Portal in Cluster-Mode : Synchronization Instance problem

I've got 2 different servers running Portal with Avitek example
On the first server, I've got The Admin Server and the first Managed Server of my cluster.
On the second server, I've got my second Managed Server of my cluster and the Synchronisation Server.
Question 1 : Should the Synchronization Server be a managed server or not ?
Question 2 : As Admin Server should not respond to any customer requests, can I deploy all applications only on my Managed and Sync servers (except p13nConsole of course)?

So you configure your admin machine to not have any of the EJBs deployed, just an instance of the DataSync WebApp. You configure the DataSync WebApp (through Servlet context parameters) and give it the URLs which the other two managed machines Data Sync WebApps are listening on.
Once you are in production you can disable the DataSync WebApps on the managed machines to ensure no one can send data to them directly.
You can places the sync server on either a managed node or the admin machine. It doesn't matter too much from a technical standpoint which - it depends on your licensing requirements etc.
By default the Master DR on an admin machine will use the RDBMS in read/write mode, while the Master DRs on the managed machines will use read-only mode (so you don't get redundant writes). If you move the sync server onto one of the managed machines you will have to explicilty put it into read/write mode by setting the System properties: data.sync.jdbc.master.dr (read/write RDBC) or (data.sync.jdbc.read.only.master.dr read-only JDBC).

Installing Identity Synchronization in a firewalled enviroment

I am currently attempting to install the Identity Synchronization in a replica envirnment of our current network infrastructure.
I am having difficulties installing the Identity Synchronization Server Core on a machine behind a firewall with the Sun Directory Server outside of the firewall.

Each time I attemt to install the Core Server, the installation fails, and the logs indicate that the Core Installer is not able to contact the Directory Server on ldap://saturn.xxx.xxx.xx:389
If I try to contact the server witht eh LDP.exe tool from Microsoft, I am able to view the directory. So there is no problem of communication.
I have attempted to open all traffic between the Directory Server and the Identity Server to cope with the mesage brokers dynamic port, and any other port requirements, but that did not allow the Installation to complete either.
I have noticed that the Sun Directory Services are "Heavily" dependent on DNS lookups. Since there is no way for the Directory Server to resolve the Identity Server, can this cause the Identity Server Core installation to fail?
If any one can help me I would be apreciative. If you need more information, I can upload a schematic of what my current test envirnment looks like, or I can attempt to answer any question that might help.

User Profile Service Application - User Profile Incremental Synchronization

We have USer profile inplace. however User Profile service application does not auto run.

Oracle Mobile Server 11G with BerkeleyDB/SQLite

Hi all,
Actually I have got following situation:
There are 2 Java apps that are running on Oracle Lite. Due to our Win 7 migration und outrunning support of Support for Oracle Lite we decided to migrate to Oracle Mobile Server 11 G and switch to Berkeley DB. So far so good.
During migration my administrator reported warnings from migration utility that the apps are not compatible and aren't migrated. Within these applications databaseaccess is done via JDBC and SQL. There is no time and money to rewrite dataaccess layer, so I need SQL Access to Berkeley DB.
For my first tests I created via Mobile Server API a new Publication that contains simply one publication Item that is in One Way Synchronization (Server to Client) . I wanted to take a look into the submitted Database File. For that I found dbsql.exe. I called this app via command line with: "dbsql.exe MyDb.db". DBSql started but returned an error that SQL Statement is incomplete?!. Any idea? For that new publictation i also wrote a testapp that should spool out the contents of publication Item in a later step.
Ok now i took a new look into internet for getting information about SQL Support. There I found that Berkeley DB now is able to speak SQLite. So it seems that new database is able to speak SQL via SQLite. Is that correct?
I switched now in MobileServer Console my testapp to SQLite Win32; US and installed the SQLite client on my computer. My next try was to connect this database to dbsql.exe. The call of dbsql.exe "MyDb.db" returned that error that databse is eather corrupted or encrypted.
I was really unable to find a guide how to use that SQL API for Berkely DB. Which .jars should I import in my Java app? How is connection been made?
Is here anyone that can help me a little bit out?

Hi, I see that this thread is old a little bit. Do you still need help on it? I have been able to create a publication with Mobile Server 11G with Berkeley DB as the client database. I have also found the jar to use to access the client database in java. Please let me know in you still need it and i'll post it here.

Identity Synchronization 1.0/AD - MQClient failure

After what appears to have been a successful install of Sun ONE Directory Server 5.2 and Sun ONE Synchronization Server for Windows 1.0 on an S9 system (fully patched), attempts to link users with the idsync linkusers command results in what appears to be a missing message queue failure being flagged.
Specifically, the command invoked is:
./idsync linkusers -h s3.sso.isdintegration.com -p 389 -D "cn=Directory Manager" -w sun123 -s dc=sso,dc=isdintegration,dc=com -q sun123 -f../samples/IlodeLinkUsersIntegrate
The response echoed to the console is:

MQClient failed due to a Java Message Service error.
CNN101/error.log reports:

The message service appears to be operational (I can stop and start it with /etc/init.d/imq
A Google search for JMSSecurityException: [C4035] notes that this error is flagged if a non-existant queue is forbidden from being created. The 64K$ question is... what queue is missing? plus... what have I failed to do to insure its existance?

During our Windows Synchronization build we experienced the exact same MQClient error and found a resolution which may help you:
under the following directory:
var/imq/instances/psw-broker/props there is a file called config.properties
under this file are domain references which could be the root cause of your problem. In our case we did a re-install of Identity Synchronization for Windows but changed domains from abc.dce.company.com to abc.hji.company.com.
Because we didnt obliterate the var/imq directory during a reinstall, the above file was the source of our MQClient Java failure.
To cure the issue we modified the config.properties where references to the old domain occurred. Additionally we deleted all the messages in the following directory:
/var/imq/instances/psw-broker/filestore/message
and cleared up the information in the following file
/var/imq/instances/psw-broker/filestore/destination

Mobilink 12.01 and SQL Server 2008

I have a DBA that won't grant "view server state" to the database user that I use to start the Mobilink Synchronization Server. My question is there a work around since I saw that this right is a requirement? Also, for curiosity what is being performed internally to require this right at the server level?

Since Microsoft SQL Server 2005+ supports snapshot isolation, MobiLink needs to be careful about how it generates the 'last download timestamp' on these systems. Consider the following problem:
1. A synchronization comes in to synchronize and completes. Last download time is T1.
2. Another connection to MSSQL is opened and starts a snapshot isolation transaction. Inserts a record with the last_updated timestamp column set to the current time, T2.
3. A second synchronization comes in to synchronize at T3.
4. The snapshot isolation transaction commits with time T2 on the record.
5. A third synchronization comes in at T4, missing the record (since T2 < T3 < T4).
To resolve this problem, MobiLink will instead look for open transactions on the consolidated server and use the oldest transaction's start time as the last download time instead. You can use the "-dt" MobiLink server switch to control whether MobiLink only looks in the current database or in all databases on Microsoft SQL Server for this infromation.
If MobiLink is only looking at the current database (-dt), it will use the following query:

If MobiLink is looking at all databases on the SQL Server system we remove the "AND dt.database_id=DB_ID()" predicate.
Notably, "sys.dm_tran_active_transactions" and "sys.dm_tran_database_transactions" are both "Transaction Related Dynamic Views and Functions" in Microsoft SQL Server, which are locked by the "VIEW SERVER STATE" privilege.

Data Synchronizer - Third party downloaded

Since implementing the Novell Data Synchronizer server, users have noticed that the properties of their 'Sent' mail is 'Third-party Downloaded' on any mail sent to mobile users. This is causing a problem because they like to know if people have actually opened their mail or not...is there anyway to change this?

It's not a problem. If the mail has been read, the sent item will
still show an Action of "Read" in addition to "Third-Party Downloaded"
once the e-mail has been read, either on a mobile device or via the GW
client.
